5 Stars for Tula! I have been here several times since they opened in early 2020 and since then their service, food quality, and cleanliness have been consistently excellent. They have an outdoor patio, bar, and inside dining. It's a great place for a group or a date night. Their cocktails are unique, but oh so good. Their corn tortillas are out of this world! During COVID, we did curbside pick and the food was just as excellent at home. They packed up everything so well and they made it easy to order. As restaurants are starting to open up during this COVID time period, you can tell Tula is taking great measures of following the recommended protocols and social distancing. We felt very comfortable dining here during this pandemic. And thank you Tula for respecting and following these recommended protocols. We realize it's A LOT of preventative work and sanitizing everything on a continuous basis, but we truly appreciate it. We will most definitely be back soon! read more

We had reservations for 5:00 when Tula opened. They promptly took us to our seats and we met our waiter. He was very attentive and made good suggestions regarding food choices. The food was unique and good. The downside was that the two gentlemen sitting directly behind me were very excited and talked loudly. I had a headache and quietly asked for my husband and me to be moved, which our waiter got permission from the manager to do. We were moved across the room where there is the long bench-type seating with small tables and either 1 or 2 chairs across from the bench. This was great! We were in the restaurant area with only 6 other people, spread out across the room. Then, our waiter (who knew we didn't want loud talking next to us and that I had a headache) brought in 4 adults and sat them right beside us. I could've touched the woman sitting on the bench near me. There were SO many other tables open and available. I could tell they were also uncomfortable being so close when the restaurant was not crowded at all. We finished quickly and left. read more

The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable, especially given the quality of food. We started with Ceviche and guacamole. The fish was light and there was no fishy taste at all. The guacamole was good but a little bland. The chips were light and crisp and flavorful. We were already getting full so we shared the Asada deconstructed tacos. The corn tortillas were homemade and delicious. The pinto beans were good but also needed a bit more seasoning to them. The Asada was tender, juicy and delicious. There was a small side of pablamo peppers and onion -I would have liked more- and a small side of guacamole. The host did forget that I asked about celebrating a birthday but we were very full by that point so it was OK. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We went early so it was not at all crowded. It is not a large space but beautifully appointed. There is not a restroom in the restaurant so you have to use the building's facilities which are not at all nice. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and will be back. read more

I was sooooo excited about this place opening. I love Mexican food, and while there are numerous smaller family owned establishments in NWA that I frequent on the regular, the prospect of something a little more upscale had me intrigued. Plus, there aren't many restaurants around town that serve mezcal. So as soon as Tula finally opened, my husband and I made reservations for the first kiddo free evening we had. We arrived about five minutes prior to our reservation time. The restaurant was busy and there were several groups standing around at the bar and outside in the lobby of the Pryor center. There was no obvious sign of a host stand or any indicator of where we needed to check in. We finally found the hostess, a young woman leaned up against the counter wearing the most utterly bored expression one could muster. After getting our name, she informed us we didn't have a reservation. My husband pointed to his name and phone number on the list...it was already crossed out. We inquired why they gave away our reservation, and she kept denying that they did. But come on, we have eyes, we could clearly see the list. She told us the wait would be 25-30 minutes, while still insisting they didn't give away our reservation. Hmm, okay. After asking again why/how our reservation wasn't valid, she crossed her arms and told us we were welcome to talk to her manager. No apology, no explanation, nothing, just a scowl and a defensive stance. We decided to go to the bar and get a drink while we waited. The bar was covered up, and to complicate matters the kitchen door opened up directly into the line of patrons waiting to place an order. Not great planning in terms of layout. We waited about 15 minutes while seemingly no one ahead of us was receiving their drinks. At this point the evening was going rapidly downhill, so my husband sought out the manager, because we were both so frustrated. After speaking with him we were seated pretty quickly at a two top. Where was this table earlier? The food was delicious. Cocktails were so so and didn't arrive until about halfway through the meal. Our server was lovely but also extremely busy with a much larger table. Overall, we likely won't return to Tula. I understand a place that has just opened always has kinks to work out. But this place would be well served hiring a hostess who has experience in a high volume restaurant, and who understands that a smile and an apology will go a loooooong way when things have gone wrong. read more
