Service at this restaurant is terrible. They leave items out each time we have ordered take out. The employees lie about being a manager; yelled at us and hung up the phone instead of simply listening and giving small credit for food missing. Manager was requested 3 times thru online portal & no one ever called. I received a credit but it was not for the correct amount and they still charge tax for items missing plus the full 12% tip I had given before I knew take out service would be so terrible. Tried calling one more time and yet again super rude employee answered and would not help. Too many other choices in Houston to deal with absolute jerks. Decided to eat here a few nights ago for a work lunch. I have eaten at the Vintage Park location a few times, but never here. So I decided to go with an order of 1/4 Dark with Collard Greens and Mac-n-Cheese for the sides. Let's start with the chicken. The chicken is fried with a light batter. The chicken if fried very well, juicy and tender. I got the Mo-hot on the spice and it was perfect and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. For the chicken I'll give it an 8 out of 10. The mac-n-cheese didn't turn out so well. While it's nice and cheesy, the tast of the cheese is just not good. Tasted just short of velveeta or melted American cheese. Have to give the mac-n- cheese a 4 out of 10. Now for the collard greens. I was pleasantly surprised that the collard greens were very good. Nicely seasoned and tender with a blend pieces of smoked turkey mixed in. I'll give the collards an 8 out of 10. The food is good here for the most part. It's a nice change of pace from eating at a fast food fried chicken joint. read more

Lastly, the chicken in the loaded Mac and cheese was DRY. It's was not chicken bites in the Mac and cheese rather it was dry shredded chicken which I thought was odd. This place is nothing short of amazing!!! From the jump the service was excellent. There was quite a few people already seated but we immediately seated which was kind of surprising being that they looked to be busy. Our waiter took great care of us and I was definitely surprised by how fast came out! Everything we had was DELICIOUS and I can't say enough about the owner. He actually brought our food out. This guy was walking around being very attentive to the customers and you could see that he really wanted to make sure that everyone was being taken care of.
