O.G. Chicken Sandwich w dirty Mac

Went after a productive round of golf on Christmas Eve and had some phenomenal service. Cannot give enough to the staff then! Been a fan of rumble since my ut Austin days and it surely never disappoints. One of my favorite fried chicken spots! Cheers!

Me and my wife are from Ga and we seen this place on TikToc. Being that we had to wait to be seated they gave us a free sample of all their sides while we look at the menu. The food was hot and fresh. They were a extremely busy and understaffed. So please be patient. We ordered our food and I must say. The sides was better than my entree. We had to wait awhile on refills but we understood. Please go check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Tumble22 is conveniently located near I-10 and the Beltway in Spring Branch. Parking can be a little tight since it shares a lot with several other businesses (including Pluckers), but it's manageable. I went with a party of 9 on a Monday evening close to Christmas week, fully expecting a wait -- but to our surprise, there was plenty of seating. We were able to combine two tables easily and had lots of room, which made the experience even better. This place really delivers if you like chicken. I've had their fried chicken before and it was excellent, but this time we went all in on chicken sandwiches. The Korean OG sandwich was spectacular -- bold, intense flavors, maybe even almost too flavorful (if that's a thing). Portions are huge, so finishing a whole sandwich is a challenge for a normal adult. We also ordered the Southern Buffalo, which was equally awesome. For dessert, we topped it off with key lime pie, and it was spectacular -- a perfect way to end the meal. Portion was perfect for a date. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but nothing unusual for restaurants these days, especially post-COVID. Service was excellent -- our waitress had a great sense of humor and really made the experience fun and relaxed. The ambiance was lively, clean, and casual without feeling sloppy. Overall, a solid restaurant with great food, great service, and a fun vibe. If you're into fried chicken or chicken sandwiches, Tumble22 is absolutely worth a visit. Enjoy!

We loved the very tasty and fresh chicken to the amazing sides and also very friendly service . I highly recommend Tumble 22. We were treated to a nice sampling before ordering so we all dialed in our favorite choices. Also a nice patio to play corn hole or enjoy the weather ;) it's true the drinks are stiff ( frozen margs) and the pricing is very competitive!!! Highly recommend! Thanks to one of the owners Shane for his hospitality and commitment to quality!!

This restaurant has been up and down in terms of food and service. Our server was knowledgeable of all the levels of spice and level of heat. Came with a party of 8 and the restaurant only had 1 other party eating there since it was a very early lunch . It took almost 35 min to receive our food. Our party almost left because we had to get back to work . This is my 3rd time coming and each time it has taken longer and longer to be served. The quality of the meal was good however would not recommend coming here on a workday unless you do not mind waiting for awhile for your food.

We visited on a Saturday during Ramadan, hoping to break our fast at the restaurant. Before ordering, we asked the waitress how long certain items would take due to our 20-minute window. She assured us the OG and Texas Twister OG sandwiches would be ready quickly, while the Korean-style bone-in chicken might take longer. We were fine with that, and requested the sandwiches come out first. Unfortunately, all the food arrived nearly 40 minutes later--at once. The Korean chicken wasn't fully cooked, and when we were finally able to get our waitress' attention, the waitress reacted with indifference saying she will get her manager. A manager came and took a piece of chicken back to the kitchen without much explanation. The interaction felt weirdly robotic, lacking empathy or communication. They did remove the item from our bill, which I appreciated, but the overall experience was disappointing. I've been a longtime fan of T22 in Austin and used to drive to the Louetta location when it first opened in Houston. I was genuinely excited about having one closer--but sadly, the service didn't reflect the same hospitality or energy I've come to associate with the brand.

9/1/2025: We had an okay lunch on Labor Day at Tumble 22. It wasn't busy at all since it was 2:00 pm when we arrived. We were greeted and shown to our table within 1 minutes of walking in. They have outdoor covered seating with long tables. Inside tables were mainly booths. That was a perk. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were managed well. The food was good, portions were big, and the price point was on the low average. My friend and I split the Tupelo Hot Honey chicken sandwich with a side of fries and a side of broccoli salad. The chicken sandwich was good. We ordered ours crispy. The honey portion of the sandwich is the honey is sriracha sauce. We asked for ours on the side. The sauce is good, but it's not a taste I typically prefer. I'm glad we ordered it on the side. It is very honey with a little sriracha. The fries were good. Nothing special, but good. The broccoli salad was interesting. I did not care for it at all. I usually like broccoli salad, but this one was lacking in flavor and I wasn't excited about the loads of raisins. We had a few little issues during our lunch. Getting the amount of napkins one needs for handheld food was a chore. We got one napkin on our first ask (after the food was delivered to the table). Just the fact that we had to ask for napkins was an irritation, especially AFTER the food was placed on the table. We received two napkins on our second ask, and on our third ask, the waitress brought two more napkins and sheepishly said, "sorry, we are going broke". I think she realized her mistake in saying that after the fact, but we were floored it was even said. Was she joking? Is she just socially awkward?? Was she serious??? We sat there puzzled for a good 30 seconds after she walked away. The napkin issue was after running out of lemonade (which was the best part of my lunch - they have great lemonade), and then waiting almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. After we received our food and before the "broke" comment, I asked for ranch. She was only able to give us one since they had run out. Need less to say, I wasn't super impressed on my first visit to T22. I'm not sure we would go back, but as we joked, they may not be around long to even have a chance to go back. Seriously, I do not want to get the waitress in trouble. She was sweet and I am sure she didn't mean to say what she said, but she needs to understand that is a very poor representation for T22. If it was a joke, it was a terrible joke. I thought about HH with my coworkers at T22, but that was before my lunch on Monday. I still think they deserve another shot, so I will probably go again. It just goes to show you how one person can make or break a situation.

Super friendly and fast service at this location. Always a great sandwich no matter which you choose. Serrano has amazing flavor while not being too spicy if you enjoy heat. Very clean inside

First time visit was great. It was during the middle of the week, and it was not that busy. Got to try their sampler platter, and really enjoyed the coleslaw, broccoli salad, and the southern sandwich. The hot tupelo was drenched in hot honey so could not taste the spicy seasoning level we had requested. The second visit was on a Friday, and they were slammed and understaffed. Service was slow and food items were missing, but the manager was very nice and apologetic for that. We tried their queso chicken chips , as well as Szechuan chips , and the queso one was the best out of the two. They have an actual burger on the menu which was decent. Their buffalo sandwich was tasty, and all the portions are quite big. Overall, not bad and would go back for the southern chicken sandwich.

I've eaten Tumble 22 3 times this week!! My friends and I are going to meet here tomorrow night for a drink sssooo, that makes F O U R!!! The customer service that I've received each time that I've been has been great. Kind, patient and helpful! Unfortunately, every time I visit I eat the same thing! One quarter white, breast and wing with greens and mac n cheese!! The skin of the chicken is absolutely delicious!!! I mean...if they just served me the fried skin, I'd be happy!! Also...the Margaritas are pretty good too!! This isn't your usual fried chicken joint, it's pretty nice. Clean, and a bit more upscale than your usual chicken spot! I love it. At the time my family and I were visiting, the owner/manager maybe? came over to greet us and check to see how the meal was. He was so sweet! I'll be back soon y'all!!!!!

Good vibes all around at this place! Love the atmosphere and the food here. I got the two piece boneless thigh at mo hot spice level. It was so delicious! Great flavor and spice, perfectly crispy! The collard greens were delicious as well, well made. Our food took forever to come out - we were a party of 7 but probably waited 30 minutes for the food. Our server was indifferent.

Wasn't sure what to expect. Really just kind of thought it would be an order at the counter type place with a Zaxby taste and vibe. I was so wrong!! The chicken is so fresh and so good!! The deviled eggs were insanely good. First time customers get a tasting platter and it was a great way to try the sides. Mac and cheese is really good, Cole slaw and broccoli salad too. Sauces were excellent and service was great! Chocolate cream pie put this place over the top. Really enjoyed. Will be back.

I didn't know there was one in Memorial until my administrative assistant suggested it for her birthday with lunch. We were all glad she did because we actually loved it. We dined in on a Wednesday afternoon. The place is somewhat hidden down Gaylord Street behind A Moveable Feast where we ate at for another manager's birthday lunch. The GPS might throw you off a bit. The parking strip is pretty busy, but you can still find a couple spots. It was kind of empty when we came in just before noon. It did get busy after that. You line up and order at the registers, and they give you a number marker to deliver your meal to your table. There's partial booth and low table seating inside. There's fountain drink and tea at the far end of the dining area towards the single gender restrooms. I don't remember what I tried years ago, so I went with the one scoop and two sides. I had the traditional Classic Carol, loaded potato soup and grape salad. My admin asst raved about it, so I had to try. Plus, I needed some fruit in my life. The Classic Carol is plain with celery, mayo and their secret seasoning. I liked that the celery was not overpowering. In fact, I couldn't really see it. I thought it was ok paired with the wheat crackers. I shared some with my other coworker who ordered Olivia's Old South which has sweet pickles and hard boiled eggs. I think I liked that version better. I would like to try the Cranberry Kelli next time which has dried cranberries and slivered almonds. I've had all kinds of chicken salad. It's one of my faves at HEB and will order chicken salad sandwiches at different delis. I grew up with my family making chicken salad, as well. The loaded potato soup was great. It came topped with crispy bacon pieces and shredded cheese. The cup of soup was hot and had nice chunks of potato. The potatoes were soft and perfectly cooked. I ate about half the chicken salad scoop with crackers since the soup made me full. I tried the grape salad and saved the rest. It was delicious. It has a sweet cream cheese sauce over the grapes and is topped with a sprinkle of brown sugar and chopped pecans. My admin asst was right! I also liked their tea, which I mixed with sweet and unsweetened. Other items our group enjoyed was the pimento cheese sandwich, chicken melt and the small sugar cookies the meals came with. I gave mine away. This is definitely a great lunch place option. It's right off the I-10 freeway, so it's nearby a lot of work places including ours. I'm sure we'll be back here even though it is a little pricey. My meal was about $15-16. As a side note, I'm glad we didn't experience having large pieces of cartilage in our chicken salad as other reviews mentioned.

The shish kebab skewer was super tender and had good flavor and the beef skewer was also tasty, but just a bit tough in my opinion. The chicken was moist and had a good charred flavor. The rice and grilled tomatoes were standard though the homemade bread was a bit thin and bland. Considering the bold flavors from the other elements of the food, the bread did complement it well. (6.5/10) Overall, the food is very comparable to other restaurants that serve this kind of cuisine. When you pull up, it's a bit hidden in the strip center so keep an eye out for the Chubbies sign or you might unknowingly drive past. The restaurant itself is very small with only a few tables for dining in, so I think it's meant to be more of a takeout place. My food was ready for me to pick up on the shelf to the right of the counter. I was able to get additional napkins and ketchup at the adjacent self-serve station. I got the Chubbie and Rodeo Clown sliders with a side of fries. Total came out to just over $11 after tax which is pretty reasonable for lunch. The Chubbie is their classic slider, patty with cheese and diced onions. The Rodeo Clown was a patty with cheese, bacon, and onion ring. These came with a side of their house Chubbie sauce for dipping. I did like the Rodeo Clown much more because of the add-ons for the same price as the Chubbie. Nonetheless, both sliders tasted good and with the side of fries, I was content. I will say that the real deal was a bit of a disappointment compared to the photos they have on their online menu. IRL, the sliders appeared smaller and flatter. The fries were standard straight cut fries served in a paper bag. I do wish that they would have at least put the fries in a cup or butcher paper inside the bag, because all the grease got soaked up in the paper bag and made for a bit of a mess. I hope that this place makes it, as the employee (owner?) working the counter when I came in seemed like a genuine guy who was happy to help. I'd love to try more of their sliders as well as the chicken tenders because I read that these are massive!

I'm not gonna hold back on this review, this is probably the worst Frenchy's I've ever been to. I…read morebeen inside the restaurant 3-4 times and ordered through DoorDash about 2-3 times. To be honest the service is slow and at times they're rude and don't wanna do their job. One of the only positive things I can say is that even though the service is slow, the food comes out hot & fresh. I would hope so since they're not busy. My to go orders are usually the 3 piece campus with either mash potatoes, red beans and rice, collard greens & dirty rice. Or I'll get their 3 piece catfish. Sometimes I'll get the dessert (peach cobbler & sweet potato pie). While the chicken comes out hot & fresh. There is zero seasoning on the chicken itself. Not even a pinch of salt. They rely on the batter for flavor. Don't get me wrong the batter is salty & delicious for my palate but the chicken is so bland. Collard greens are uninspiring & boring but edible. Mash potatoes taste just fine but their gravy adds a layer of flavor. Red beans and rice once again, flavorless & they always give you one measly piece of sausage. Their dirty rice is a little dry but not bad. Now for the catfish I actually enjoy it. The batter is the same as their chicken & the fish itself is moist and juicy. The desserts feel like it's store bought and not made in house but it's bearable. Overall, this location ain't it. It's located next to a gas station & the area itself isn't safe. The inside of the restaurant isn't clean either. Lazy & rude employees don't make it any better. If you want some good Frenchy's go to the one on 3rd ward. I would frequently go there but that's no where close to my house so I have to settle for this location. I hope they make improvements before they shut down.
