I joined the waitlist when I arrived in the parking lot so the wait was about 20 mins which was okay since I was waiting for a friend to show up. Got a text to check in with the hostess since my table was ready. I liked how their hostess station was setup outside rather than inside the restaurant. They kept waiting guests away from the guests who were already dining. Tables spaced and sanitized after each guest. You're able to scan the QR code to get the menu. We were seated promptly. No issues ordering and food came out quickly. Our waiter Ananda brought some drinks to the table and checked in occasionally. I'm not sure if this location is a BYOB like the other location in Westfield as there's no alcoholic beverages on the menu. Food was good and portion sizes were great. I have visited TP in Princeton 3 times. The service on the first trip was good, so much so, we went back. On the second visit we checked in, then waited - fine. The problem occurred after we got the text for availability. Before we could get to the host (the room was full) we got bumped for another couple who had walked in well after us. I said something and was dismissed by the host. Then when we were finally seated we waited 10 minutes to be recognized. Busy I understand, but tables that were sat after us were already getting their coffee. When we did get service it was very good. Third and last time I will ever go into this restaurant was this morning. Signed in online, got there (not busy) and was seated immediately. We never ordered because no one came to talk to us. Again, people who came in well after us were serviced, and we were ignored. For me this is the last time I will drive out of my way for horrible service. Where do I begin. I visited The Turning Point recently and I wont lie as soon as I saw the long wait I wanted to turn around but I was already there. When my friend and I got there we were greeted by THE SWEETEST server Chrissy. She suggested her favorite items and got us our food promptly ! She engaged with us and I observed that she treated every guest with the same respect and care. The food was good but Chrissy is the real reason I'd return because she really cared about my experience ! To Chrissy , keep up that amazing attitude and smile, your attitude can bring the light out on the darkest day, personally I've been going through a lot and the words you spoke to me about never giving up has really stuck ! The person who said this place smells like farts is clearly having a medical problem. I walked in and smelled maple syrupy goodness. My breakfast was incredibly delicious-- Wilbur skillet and strawberry chocolate pancake. Even the coffee was amazing. I let my friend bring me to a random pancake place, given that central Jersey diners generally leave much to be desired. This place looks very fresh, with very friendly, young staff. My waiter's first words included, "friends." Plus for service. The Apple Pie Pancakes promised slow roasted brown sugar apples, vanilla mascarpone, and honey maple walnuts. I got dry cooked apples with barely any flavor, vanilla mascarpone (good), and plain walnuts. I tried to believe in flavor, but I remain a flavor atheist here. I can't call the pancake fluffy or dense. It's a tweener cake. Pretty good flavor but needs some fluff for definition. My friend got an egg white omelet. The potatoes were "perfect", but the sausage was "overcooked". The side of smashed avocado toast, that famous millennial innovation, was "delicious". I got a side of just eggs and it was $1/egg, which is very reasonable (the full side with potatoes is over $5). Kudos for that. But they were a bit watery... I really hope they were scrambled fresh! I have doubts. So the overall impression is that they are aiming upmarket and they've hit on atmosphere, service, ingredients and menu descriptions. However, this place, already with ten locations and four planned, is in serious danger of overexpanding right now. Whoa, horsey. Rein in for a moment and take stock of where you are. The preparation and flavor needs some work to take you to the next level, especially at these prices. I see potential, but not enough for that 4th star just yet. read more

The brunch main dish itself was really good. Although I am very picky eater. I think I had eggs benedict with Italian flare with pesto and on the ciabatta bread. However they need better potatoes and coffee. Potatoes were cubed, soggy, not crispy at all, cold even. And the coffee seems like watered down too much lacking aroma almost like a tea. The thing that most helpful was they had vegan options aswell and healthy menu besides the usual Pancake n syrup stuff. I called in to reserve seating at 1:15 on a Thursday and they confirmed 1:15 with me and I arrive at this restaurant and they don't have a table waiting for me. The receptionist told me a 15 minute wait and he would text me when my table was ready. 45 minutes go by I get no text. We go to the receptionist and asked him what happened to our table and he says he sent me a message I never got it and they didn't try calling and there was no table ready anyway and then he says maybe I didn't send the message and apologizes. I've been wanting to try this place out since I noticed it a few months back. My biggest problem is the location. Located in the Mercer Mall causes many congestion problems both with navigating through the parking lot as well as parking. I decided to try out the Turkey chili while my wife got the chocolate chip pancakes. I was somewhat disappointed with the chili, although the pancakes were very good. The Chili was almost a soup as it was very thin like a chili flavored broth with turkey, corn etc inside. The flavor was kinda bland for a chili, certainly no heat. The Pancakes however, they were bursting with flavor. They also included cut strawberries, coolwhip and a strawberry type sauce. I would come back, although I will probably stick to the breakfast menu. The overall size inside it pretty small so there is a good chance that on weekends there will be a long wait. read more

So happy to have a great traditional brunch place nearby. The decor is casual and inviting and the menu features a great selection. I look forward to trying other dishes on it. I called to see if they were open yet & the hostess answering the phone reported that they were and offered to put our name down. When we arrived, we were immediately seated as others were told there was a 20 minute wait! We started with drinks and my tea came with a little rock candy stir stick that my son loved. (I don't take sugar in my tea.) There was something for everyone. My skillet was Paleo and diet friendly with pesto infused egg whites on a bed of veggies including portobello and roast red pepper. My son loved his Tropical Crunch waffles that came with a strawberry reduction sauce. My husband, who is known for finishing everyone/s leftovers, reported that his huevos rancheros were too filling to finish. It's worth every star. We have been to Turning Point a few times now, and I am finally getting down to writing a review. To start with, what stands apart is the service. The people that work here are either under worked or over paid, because they are always cheerful and provide excellent service. We have had the no yolk omelette, poached eggs, the tropical waffle and the kids' smores waffle. All of them have been made to perfection. One grouch I have - the coffee can be a bit stronger. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First, I requested a certain 2 top table but was told by the hostess (general manager according to her) that she had no staff to service that table and we could not sit there, No problem but please note, we have eyes and seen that she had a full staff that appeared ready for work. Approximately 2 minutes later the hostess / general manager seated 2 other people at the table I originally requested. Rude and unaccommodating! Next, the cold pressed coffee was served with a piece of paper / trash in the pour spout, when I brought it to the servers attention he took it in the back area, removed the trash with his bare fingers, then attempted to serve it to us again (once again we have eyes and seen him do this). We refused that coffee, lots of attitude coming from all. 2 minutes pass and they serve my husband another cold pressed coffee, which looked very light and tasted like water, totally unacceptable. When we brought this to the Hostess / general managers attention she said there was nothing wrong with it. I explained this suppose to be the Jamaican Blend and tastes like water. She said that's the Jamaican Blend. Ridiculous! The omelette was cold, cheese not melted, the potatoes had an overwhelming amount of BLACK BURNT stuff in them, nasty, and the so called ciabatta bread WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT ciabatta bread. The so called general manager and the staff all acted as if they were doing the customers a favor by being there and serving the trash they attempted to serve us. Needless to say, we got out of there! The so called General Manager refused to supply her name. We were seated quickly. First impression is that it's too bright to be cozy. After ordering our drinks, a French press coffee and a pumpkin latte, we then decided on food and waited for our drinks. Seven minutes later, they finally showed up. My latte, overflowing with whipped cream, tasted slightly of pumpkin. My Basic skillet, first with scrambled eggs over cooked, I had requested lightly scrambled finally came back, with the correct, lightly scrambled eggs. Other than the salt and pepper that I added to the dish, there wasn't much flavor, even from the melted cheeses topping the potatoes. I ended up adding ketchup, of all things, looking for flavor. I keep trying salsas, looking for something close to my NM salsa, but sadly, this wasn't it. The red onion and vinegar taste wasn't to my liking and the chips are thick and bland. The waitstaff was apologetic about the mistake on my order, but I didn't get the feeling that it was that big of a deal. If I lived here, I still wouldn't come back. Pretty much your only option for traditional brunch in the WWP area. Be prepared to wait on weekend mornings. On a Sunday at ~11 our party of 3 had to wait for 20 minutes. But they offer free (albeit mediocre) coffee while you're waiting, so that's chill. The menu is extensive, and everything I've tried has been delicious so far! Also, not only are the prices super reasonable, but the portions also tend to be large, which makes it even better! I love their lobster benedict, and Turning Point has been super consistent with their perfectly poached eggs - nothing is worse than overdone eggs!!!! Their seasonal specials are great too. My friend and I split the tiramisu french toast (really delicious, although a tad on the dry side, and not too sweet!!) and the sriracha BBQ potatoes with housemade corn salsa & cheddar (SO good! interesting combination that worked surprisingly well) for the perfect mix of savory and sweet. A favorite spot of mine for breakfast and brunch -- way more character and quality that you would expect for a little spot in this strip-mall, but the food is delicious. I've had the service range from 'fine' to 'amazing'. My favorite dish is the huevos rancheros, which is mouth-watering, heavy, and huge even by the standards of the large dishes at Turning Point. The tiny-minced, tomato salsa is perfect for the dish and the slightly-crisped flour tortilla it's served on, though a bit unusual, is a great compliment. I saw another review mentioned the orange juice, which is real, fresh-squeezed juice, a rare find. Super full in flavor. Feel free to BYOB and add some champagne on a weekend morning. The water pitcher given to us had brown stuff floating on top...both completely ignored by the staff ??? Odd but clearly lack of concern. I finally had to go to the counter and ask for paper coffee cups because of how dirty these glasses were. The server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed as did all the staff. The food was average. My wife asked for a side salad instead of chips yet when her sandwich arrived it had chips. I had to remind the server of the missing salad. When it arrived it had the wrong dressing. We went for Sunday brunch and the wait was a little long so try calling ahead of time. The wait was so worth it! I had the S'mores hot chocolate which was HEAVEN!!! I've been to several of the Turning Point locations over the years, and this has become my favorite. First thing when you walk in, you notice the friendly staff. The hostesses are always quick to be helpful, with a smile. Every server I've had there has been great as well. Also, the place is clean, bright, and just has a great NJ-shore-vibe. I've had lunch here half a dozen times and it's okay but nothing special. The decor is really nice but the food is mediocre. Today, after specifically asking my waitress if the Al Fresco Quinoa Bowl was spicy, she assured me that it wasn't. I beg to differ. I suffered through the entire meal, which was mostly a bowl of cooked quinoa with very few black beans and other vegetables and something VERY spicy mixed it with it. True, I'm at the low end of the spice tolerance scale - I don't tolerate spicy heat well -- but still... She either has a lead stomach or we just disagree on the terminology. Besides that, the side salad was a bit wilted and the coffee was nothing more than brown water. (Just about the worst coffee I've ever had.) Yes, they offer French Press coffee options but why should anyone have to pay $7 to get a drinkable cup? To be fair, in the past I've had the Santa Fe, and other sandwiches that were good, and that's why I gave them 3 stars. But today was over the top inedible.
