I pay cash because we are having one more and moving on. Never happens. I think we were here 3 hours last trip. Such friendly staff and patrons. Watching football n chopping it up. We probably spent maybe $30 drinking the Saturday afternoon away, made new friends. No food here so we end up leaving when we start starving and then end up coming back for a nightcap. Don't let the hole in wall appearance fool you. Worth the stop on your next trip.

In a nutshell, I did not receive REASONABLE treatment. Now, I'm not going to mention any names because I don't believe in cancel culture and I certainly don't want my personal experience. That said, I'm not a fan of trashing local businesses and I'll be deleting this review in a couple weeks if mgmt responds. SO WHAT HAPPENED? I walked in solo off the street looking for VEGAN FOOD and the bartender! Said they have fries and veggie burgers, so I ordered that and a shot. While I was eating, a group came in and they were having difficulty finding seating because there was a convention in town. One of the ladies in the group said "come on, let's go somewhere else" and at that point, I stood up and offered my table. They asked if I was sure and I said "yes", so I relinquished my seat to accommodate them and went outside. While I was sitting outside, I noticed the DP dough place next-door and walked in and ordered some VEGAN CHEESE FRIES, which I brought back to me to the turtle bar... That was my capital offense, BRINGING IN OUTSIDE FOOD. It goes without saying that many bars have policies against outside food/drinks, but in this case, I was a paying customer here and they couldn't accommodate my dietary needs. So as I was getting kicked out I told the lady "I am spending money here, and I would like to spend more money here, you just don't have any vegan food" and you'll never believe what her response was... OH YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, VEGAN FOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRENCH QUARTER, YEAH RIGHT. LIKE THAT'S GONNA SELL at that point it was clear and apparent that I was not speaking to a reasonable human being, so I packed my french fries and VEGAN cheese sticks and left. Based on how I was treated, I couldn't help but feel like I was being judged differently because of my ethnicity.
