Got to try this location a couple weekends ago, and it was amazing. Really cool decor, and it was bustling, too, so a nice, fun vibe. I requested extra greens and jalapeños with my chicken pho, and my order did not disappoint! My bowl was huge and I expected to take some home, but I ended up slurping it ALL up lol Yum! I've been eating Vietnamese cuisine since I was a child and had enjoyed the previous Turtle Tower locations so was looking forward to their new reincarnations. The star is for the pho which was a good size for the price and had flavorful meat (many places have bland less-beefy beef). The soup was a bit salty and oily for my taste but fine. We also had the pate banh mi because we were interested in tasting their home-made version. So food was OK if not as good as we remember it. What drove the stars down was the service and keep in mind, I'm used to lackadaisical service in Asian restaurants! The menu online (PDF) and in paper said the banh mi said it came with a side of crab chips so I expected that. After I had finished, I realized the chips had not come at all and asked my waitress about it. The waitress said they were out and I asked why they didn't tell me this when I first purchased the item: she didn't have an answer. I suspect she was new so didn't ask her too hard. At which time, the manager? got involved and stated it was "complimentary" and NOT on the menu. I protested Yes, it was on the menu and not only that, "complimentary" is free, an extra item, not something stated on the menu. He got a bit huffy and asked me if I had a problem with that. I told him his menu was false advertising and they shouldn't include it if they aren't going to serve it regularly. Look, dude, I'm just here for dinner. You should be training your staff how to respond when you're out of an item. Almost every other place would tell the customer immediately (so they can change their mind), mention it before the dish came to the table, or when serving it. If you didn't know ahead of time, apologize and - perhaps - offer a $1 off or an alternative. Don't go gaslighting or arguing with your customers. I paid my bill and gave a small tip to waitstaff (manager's fault) but I'm not coming back. read more

The Best tasting Pho Ga anywhere. (So happy they are back) Nice new location on Fillmore in the Marina 2 blocks down from Union ST. Upscale decor. It's the old turtle tower with even tastier food. I love the PHo Ga with its so simple deep pure chicken broth flavor, no sugar and soy and off spice tastes I order....,dark meat, no skin extra limes and extra Jalapeño slices. The jalapeños are not super hot. We ordered Lime juice with sparkling water and it was delicious not cloying sweet. We had the crispy shrimp too and it was really good. It came with a perfect dipping sauce . The table hot sauce is flavorful too . We ordered the Pandan waffle with cream Could not have been happier. read more

The Pham Family, after making a triumphant return to the Financial District, has opened another NEW LOCATION in the Marina!! Now those of us on the north and west side of San Francisco are blessed and graced with access to THE BEST and MOST DELICIOUS northern style pho in the world (outside of maybe only Vietnam itself). This brand new location has a very modern, upscale interior that is chic enough for a casual date night, but also perfectly family friendly at the same time. I was lucky enough to go to the grand opening and the the new location is simply stunning. The food is A+ as always, the service is on point, and they even have a dedicated bar at the front to get cocktails or kill time while you wait for your table. This spot is fire!!!! We were so fortunate to be able to swing by Turtle Tower Marina during the soft opening to get my PHO GA (Chicken noodle) FIX. We also had the egg rolls and papaya salad. The food was great! The portions were large, soup the right temperature for this winter season, and the appetizers kept me wanting me. Their salted Viet Coffee will give you that jolt of energy to keep you going in the Marina district. The ambiance and atmosphere is super chic and modern...makes me feel 20 years younger ! Giving it 1 star since my order, sandwich #17, was incomplete and the staff person (manager?? since it was not our server) was blasé about my complaint . The menu, see picture, stated that the sandwich came with a side of crab chips (never heard of this before, maybe it was for shrimp chips). When I mentioned this, his initial reason was that there was not a side order of chips. Then when I pointed this out on the menu, he told me it was an optional/discretionary item that the restaurant may or may not include with the order. Again looking at the menu, this is not the case since there is no mention that the side was optional. I would not have posted this issue if the staff person had handled the situation a lot better. Instead, he was confrontational about my complaint. This was a very disappointing dining experience. I regularly visited Turtle Tower when it was on Geary St/Tenderloin/Little Saigon. read more

I really wanted to like this place, since I've heard so many positive comments about their other locations...but it sucked. They have a bunch of roving waiters. My rear barely hit the seat before someone rushed over and wanted to take my order. Then they ignore you until you have to flag someone down to pay the bill. The chicken stir fry was bland and contained almost no chicken, just a few really small scraps - a chicken nugget has lots more chicken. The chicken pho also had no flavor and featured mushy, overcooked noodles. It did have a decent amount of chicken, though, and a big hunk of bone that almost broke my tooth. Other than the decor,I don't know why anyone would eat here over the nearby Bun Mee, which is waaay better. read more

I started to visit the original Financial District location in 2025. Loved the decor and the distinctive north Vietnamese cuisine. Equally, the excellent service from staff (special shout-out to Michael) elevated my experience -- ensuring I was fully enjoying my food, getting me to try sauces and new stuff I might like, etc. I greatly enjoyed the whole experience and I became a regular, brought my friends and visitors over. When the Marina location opened and the FD location stopped being late night on weekends, I started to frequent the Marina location. Initially the same great staff delivered the same great food, vibes and service experience. However, in recent visits the service part seems to have gradually deteriorated at least late night with the newer staff (lot less attentive), though food is still good. Last night I got seated at 2:10am, didn't get my order taken till close to 2:30am (place was surprisingly busy for that hour, I was happy for their increasing success), didn't get my pho till some time later. Promptly at 3am they told remaining tables to pack-to-go and leave immediately. I told a new staffer I may need a just few minutes more to finish up, and she scolded me that I had been warned earlier that the place was going to close and I needed to leave right away, food unfinished if need be. I did manage to convince the more senior wait-staff to give me 5 more minutes to rush through whatever I could eat. My thoughts -- why seat me at 2:10a? Or if taking my order gets delayed to close to 2:30am, perhaps warn me that I may not have time left to receive and eat my order before 3am -- so I can make a choice to return some other time instead of getting a bad experience. Better yet -- hire better / train better for a place that is positioned as a high-end dining experience. Or maybe this location is geared more towards handling drunk rowdy guests at the late night shift? read more

If you were expecting the original turtle tower from back in the day, don't come here. This was an extremely disappointing experience. Quality of food and menu were very disappointing. The prices are also very high... This may be the most expensive bowl of Pho in San Francisco! I asked for simple things like rare beef on the side which any other Vietnamese restaurant would accommodate and the old turtle tower also accommodated. However, I was told this is impossible. The server also did not know much about the food and we left feeling very disappointed and missing the old turtle tower. Don't recommend. Just go to Kevin's. read more

On the official open day we had the pho dac biet and pho ga. We attended about a week prior and I'll admit the soup broth was a bit better and less salty, but I'll still give it a 10/10 because the waitress Abi and the manager Jeremy were very hospitable and made our night. We've been to the FiDi location several times and while the staff there are nice, this location's service, how fast they can get the food out, and the great attitude of the folks here make it worth a visit. read more

Had to settle for something I didn't really want, some basic stir-fried beef with veggies. It was ok, kinda bland. Used to go to the Richmond District location frequently so was really excited to try the new Turtle Tower but left disappointed and unsatisfied. The restaurant and service was nice though. read more

Had an amazing dinner at Turtle Tower on Filmore last night! The ambiance was beautiful and created a very dreamy vibe. It is great restaurant for a romantic, late night or girls' night out. We ordered Nem Cua (fried imperial rolls), Gỏi Cuộn Tôm Thịt‍ (fresh spring rolls), Cánh Gà Chiên (fried chicken wings) and for the mains Phở Gà (chicken rice noodle soup) and Phở Ap Chảo‍ (pan-friend beef with noodles) and everything was excellent. The service was on point and attentive as the food came out pretty fast which was nice. Highly recommend checking this spot out and I will definitely be returning. read more

This is a new restaurant in the area, and I'm happy it opened. The decor, vibe and service is good. That is the reason for the stars -- it has promise. But the food didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the rare beef pho, something I order frequently at other restaurants and have enjoyed in Vietnam when visiting. It was very bland and disappointing. The broth lacked the depth and richness that is typical. It almost seemed like they used the same bland vegetarian broth for all the soups rather than a beef base. Did not try an of the other stir fry's or banh -mi sandwiches. I plan to go back and sample a little more. read more

The pork and shrimp spring rolls were wonderful and the #12 (I don't remember the name) was delicious. My partner had the pho ga and said its the best he's ever tried. The food and service are outstanding. The northern Vietnamese style pho has such a clean fresh flavor, and coupled with the wide noodles it makes for the perfect bowl of soup. My whole family insists that we cross town every weekend to get our fill, and we are well rewarded for the effort. read more
