Dammit, I was hoping to be the first person to review this place since it just opened. Being an Asian establishment, I guess that's pretty hard to do on Yelp. So, a couple of months I go I was driving North on Placentia Ave and I see this new mini-strip mall under construction. My first thought "Bad location." Then I see that one store is going to be a Chinese Steam Tray type place called Twin Dragon. My second thought was "Still bad location, but I hope it's the same people who ran Three Dragons, which was my 'Cheers' because they knew me and I never had to say anything when I ordered because they knew what I wanted. The other day I'm driving around aimlessly like I normally do, thinking about where to eat. Then I remember this place and debated about going because of all the construction on Placentia. I decided to go anyways. I pull into the tiny lot which was for the most part empty. I walk into to the restaurant and my first impression was that this is a little too upscale looking for this type of restaurant, especially in this neighborhood and for it being somewhat hidden. It also wasn't the same owners as Three Dragons. There was the aforementioned Two Item Combo Special that the other reviews have stated. I got that. The food that was presented looked awfully good. They looked freshly cooked and were very colorful. I got an order of just Chow Mein with the two items being Shrimp w/ Vegetables (they charge $1 extra for shrimp dishes) and what I think was Grandfather Chicken. I had to order the Shrimp w/ Vegetables because 1) I need to eat more veggies and 2) the shrimp looked so good! I wasn't too sure on what my second item was and the girl behind the counter gave me a chicken sample. It tasted pretty good, so I took the bait. The chow mein was better than several other places I've been to, but pretty much what you would expect. I enjoyed the Shrimp w/ Vegetables. I got several shrimp in it and the veggies were crisp. The Grandfather Chicken was spicy and flavorful and tasted like a dish I've had before under another name, but just can't remember what it was. On the menu it is described as "Stir fried strips fo chicken with green onion in hot chilli (yes, two lls) spicy Szechuan sauce." I'm not that big on spicy things since I have a weak stomach, but I didn't have to make a 3am run to the bathroom, so I have no qualms about the dish. As part of the special I was served Hot and Sour soup, a salad and that tapioca thing that I'm not very fond of. I haven't had Hot and Sour soup in a long time and it was a bit on the spicy side, but I found it taste good. The salad was okay. Just more veggies to make me feel better about myself. I really didn't eat the tapioca thing. In conclusion, I think 3 3/4 stars is fitting. I like them better than The Wok Experience, but when I'm in the mood for Chinese Take Out, I'll still trek on over to 99 Ranch in Anaheim. They give you a crap load of food and it's cheap. Still, this place is a nice alternative for the area and every once in awhile I'll drop by. Just hope the location doesn't kill them. read more

The place and nice and clean. Nice lady who gave me big portions and did not hesitate when asked for samples. I went during lunch hours and got a FREE soup and FREE salad. The sad part is that was the ONLY best part of my lunch. Do not, I repeat, do not let this place fool you like it's any ordinary Chinese Fast Food, because it is not. They have a lot of hidden menu in the back. For example, the best steam fish in the world and awesome Shanghai noodles and stir fry vegetables. None, you will see in the front. However, you can special order them. Our $6.50 two-item dinner combos came with both soup and salad, which she carefully packaged into to-go containers, and they were all right by fast food standards. Particularly the salad with little bits of crispy wontons and a nice but not too heavy dressing. I'd so like to give this place a better rating and be a regular customer, but sadly the entrees just fell way short. The firecracker chicken was tough and didn't seem to have a lot of meat. The bbq chicken was a little less tough but still lacking in flavor. The fried rice was actually pretty good, but the chow mein was doughy and unpleasant. In a nutshell: awesome! This place is super good. I wasn't so sure about it when I first went there to pick up food for my parents but when I pulled up and went in I was extremely impressed. First of all, this place is decorated really cute and is very clean. They have food already made and if you order something special or larger quantities, they will make it fresh for you. The lady that was working that night was so friendly and nice and she had me try a bunch of items while I waited. Tonight I popped in and got a combo plate which included soup and salad. I had no idea about the soup and salad addition...what a surprise and an even better one was that it was only 7 bucks. Their noodles are really fresh and tasty and the chicken was super juicy. My father and I had a joint birthday gathering recently. When I arrived, my dad wasn't there because he needed to straighten out an issue he had with a tray of pork chops he bought for our party of about 20 guests. After quite a while, he finally returns with completely different dishes from another restaurant. Apparently Twin Dragon, where he had gotten the original tray of pork chops, was trying to pull a fast one. He asked for a platter to feed 20, paid $32, and, when he picked it up, discovered that the portion they gave him was PATHETICALLY SMALL... about enough meat for 5 to, max, 10 people and A CRAPFULL OF CABBAGE. Nice. I guess half of our party was supposed to get meat and the other half can have a hearty helping of salad. The worst part was the staff insisted that's just how their portion sizes/platters were. WTF, seriously?!?! It could've been a fluke, but they wouldn't admit it... I guess they're just as stingy with the customer service. $32 for a little meat and a bunch of cabbage is damn steep. Really, if they want to just sell a tiny portion of meat for that much, they should just put it in a smaller container and not waste the cabbage. But of course, who would buy that? Ah, Twin Dragon, you put an entire party on hold and made a terrible impression on me and our guests who live in the area, but will now avoid you like the plague. I get that the economy stinks and people have to cut back, but you can do that in other ways---you don't have to resort to scamming people. read more

Everybody that works here is very friendly. I am vegetarian and before they cook the tofu and other dishes they ask if I am vegetarian and cook everything accordingly. I have never had a bad experience here or the La Habra location. I do not live particularly close to either location but make the drive because the food is so good and the people are so nice. Orange chicken had no flavor, whatsoever Chow mien, mediocre & the extra soup & salad, I didn't need, but was in there anyways. Last night, my husband wasn't feeling very well and so we did a quick search for a restaurant around CSUF area and decided on trying Twin Dragon for the first time. Little did I know, my friend Betty works there! Anyway, I highly recommend the firecracker chicken, grandfather chicken, Singaporean rice noodles, hot and sour soup. Yum! Everytime I review a place, I review it for three things: Quantity (really generous) Taste (very good) Price (very affordable). This place is pretty good for a fast food place. The establishment was clean, and on top of it all, the service was fast and everyone was friendly. The only thing I can complain about is the limited parking space. Used to be ~6$ w/ tax for 2 items, soup & salad. Now it's around 6.50$ but you only get soup or salad. Still a great deal and they have some nice dishes. The firecracker chicken is great when you're in the mood for some greasy chinese food. When I'm fealing like not being a fatty I go with the bbq pork, terriyaki chicken or grandfather chicken. All are pretty good and the portions are great. I was pretty disappointed though with the orange chicken & beef w/ brocoli. I feel like these are pretty hard to mess up... As soon as we walked in the restaurant I could tell the food had been sitting there for a long time plus it didn't even look appetizing but I wanted to give it a try. The workers were very kind. Anyway we got home with the food and it didn't taste that good. Not horrible just not the best. Later that night I ended up throwing up 2 different times. My boyfriend and his sister got diarrhea too. I do not recommend eating here unless you wanna spend the rest of the day on the toilet. read more

Absolutely delicious! We tried this restaurant for the first time tonight for dinner. We ordered way more than we needed, but it all looked so good. The soup and salad were stellar, as was our "3 choices" I had firecracker chicken, beef and broccoli, and green beans. My husband had BBQ pork, King Pao, and beef and broccoli. Nothing was soggy or tough... Not too greasy or full of filler veggies or stems. Our favorite part of the meal (besides the incredible side salad) were the egg rolls! Especially the veggie egg rolls. OH MY GOODNESS they were the best. The service was stellar, too. The woman working the front was so kind and offered lots of samples and details about the choices. I used to live in La Habra and visited the other Twin Dragon location (inside looks almost exactly the same such as menu boards, what is offered, etc. Questionable if this was the original restaurant) out on Imperial Hwy and Idaho Street. Place is constantly packed and each food item on the steam tables were constantly being replenished at max holding capacity for their storage containers. At this location and this was my 1st visit, the amount of food on each storage container seemed a bit less than the pictures posted from this review. Not sure if covid-19 pandemic has hit this place really hard or simply many customers came before me thus the portion of remaining food to serve looked smaller. Anyway, I ordered the fried rice + chow mein, beef stew, chicken curry, bbq pork, and kung pao chicken. All of them tasted on point to what you would expect from authentic chinese food if you ate at a famous chinese restaurant or food location popular among chinese or taiwanese natives except kung pao as this was my 1st time ever eating this dish. I've lived in Taiwan for a bit and the beef stew tasted exactly at a popular underground restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan. Overall, this was my 1st visit and impressions. Not a lot of chinese food places appear remaining in East Fullerton/Placentia from what I found on yelp. If anything, I'd recommend this place for the authentic taste of chinese food. They have a lunch special of two item, plus miso soup for only 5.45!!! for a starving college student like myself, that's amazing! especially since they're such large portions.
