Nice ambiance with an outdoor deck, enthusiastic staff with food that has been so-so so far. I had the fish taco. The taco consisted of a limp wrap, no cheese, no salsa and no spicy TexMex flair to it. The fish and the fries tend to be oily in this location. And the price of lunch tends to be pretty high for casual food. They do do chowder very well. They need to work harder to strive for the standard of their original Concord loc. I've been here a few times now and each time the food was great. The lobster roll has a generous portion of lobster on a bulky roll. The regular french fries, sweet potato fries and the onion rings are all very good although you do have to pay extra to substitute for sweet potato fries or onion rings. The grilled sea scallops are of good quality (no dirt) and very tasty with just the right amount of seasoning. The grilled tuna sandwich lacked any seasoning and therefore taste as well but it does hang over the sides of the bun and it was only $8 with fries. They also sell fresh fish for home cooking but compared to the supermarket prices they were very expensive. To their credit I'm sure it's much better quality but that's just an assumption. read more

We went here tonight for my mother's 80th birthday. They could not have been nicer! There were 8 adults and 2 children, they let us move the tables around to fit us all in. We had the Family FIsh fry special with clam chowder, coleslaw, fries and fried fish. I am a chef and fussy about fish and its prep but the fried items were fresh and hot and the coleslaw and chowder were delicious. My mom is always looking for good fried oysters and she raved about hers all night. Then they brought her over a lobster tail for her birthday, she liked that! I have been here often to buy fish at their fish counter, the hubster likes the Hotel Schrod and I am a fan of the mussels. We'll be back ! read more

No frills place to go for fresh seafood. Although I thought the fish and chips were not extraordinary, by husband loved the clam chowder and his fisherman's platter. This was the second time we went to Twin Seafood and this time we went with friends One friend had the oysters which they thought were very good. Shrimp cocktail was gobbled up quickly! It was a nice summer night so we enjoyed sitting outside sipping the wine we brought with us. I would have given only a 3.5 star review based on my meal. Excellent value and fresh food makes this a go-to spot for seafood lovers in the Acton area. Growing up on the north shore, I'm used to having fresh local seafood spots only 10 minutes away. These guys deliver fresh seafood at reasonable prices. The outdoor seating area is nice, and the BYOB is an excellent option (especially with True West next door). Stopped in May 3rd, around 1:30 for fried clams, someone said they were good. What a disappointment, what we got was soggy, greasy, chewy, old fried clams with onions rings that were stuck together in grease. It was pitiful. Its now Monday and my stomach is still bothering me. I had nothing in the house for dinner and ran to Twin for something to take home. I ended up choosing the clam chowder and when I got home, loaded it into bread bowls. Two visits so far since this place opened. The seafood was very good both times but the french fries are somply awful, obviously dumped frozen from a plastic bag into a deep fryer. Heavy, tasteless, bland, commerical. You come here for the seafood, but the sodden fries detract from the experience. Portion size is a bit on the small side, compared with Weathervane in Lunenburg (excellent), Fishbones in Chelmsford very good, or even Julie's in Acton (excellent haddock dinner!). If the owners will pay a little more attention ti the entire experience, especially the fries, I will be back. I am very glad that this place has arrived in Acton, and look forward to eating on the outside deck when the weather gets better. read more

The first time I went in, I ordered a swordfish sandwich. The second time I went in, I remembered the first time and repeated the order. I can tell you that there swordfish sandwiches are better then the ones you can get at the beachcomber, and I can tell you that their chowder is fantastic. Aside from that, I don't know. Rude and overpriced - I called the store and asked for the price of a lobster roll. A man answered the phone and said it's $19 and few cents (I don't remember exactly). It seemed too expensive for me so I asked how big was the roll. The man answered "Huge!" literally raised his voice which I understood it as really huge. So I asked if it's enough for two people. To make the story short, I went to the store to buy the roll, which I was glad that i did not order it through the phone. When I saw the roll which was 4 inches in diameter (brioche), I was surprised because I was expecting a huge! roll. So I said "that's the roll?" The man raised his voice again and said " oh no I don't like you to buy it repeatedly in a sarcastic and rude voice. I just walked away. read more

Live just a stone's throw from Twin Seafood but for one reason or another I've never eaten there until just recently. I recently stopped in with my son for a little dinner b/c I didn't feel like cooking. I ordered the whole belly fried clam plate and my dining partner ordered a fish sandwich w/fries. We sat on the outside patio and the food arrived in no time. The clam plate was chock full of clams and an ample amount of fries too (the fries could have been a bit hotter but we were outside so maybe it was the cool evening air that cooled them down?). Price was reasonable at 17.99 for the quality and size. Clams were tasty,just one was a bit sandy but overall very satisfied with the plate. The plate was served with tartar sauce and cole slaw. I liked that they served the tartar in a good sized ramekin cup rather than serve the pre-made sealed cups or packets. Wish the same were true for the ketchup. They only had packets which were a pain to have to open like a dozen of them between me and my son. Only other negative was that the soda cooler was near empty. It is nice to have a decent place with outside seating in the heart of West Acton - I would def order again but next time maybe I'll bring my own drink :). read more

Fresh seafood in the middle of the burbs. Just off a vacation to the Cape and was missing the seafood so I picked up a lobster roll and it's awesome. Expectantly expensive, but I got what I paid for and would say I've never had a better one. Atmosphere is relaxed with a nice patio in the back. Parking is easy. The staff were friendly. So glad to have a great alternative to standard fare like pizza and subs. Nice menu as well. read more

Food was done to perfection, the music was too loud, though. We went to sit outside and the music was loud out there too so since it was windy we stayed indoors. I used to savor my twice annual trip to Woodman's in Essex in order to indulge in the fried clams. Now that Twin Seafood is only 15 minutes away, I've succumbed many times to their delicious fried clams, fried oysters, and more recently a very good lobster roll. Lots of lobster meat, not too much mayonnaise, and served on a grilled bulkie roll. The clams and oysters are terrific - light batter, fresh taste. So glad Twin has set up shop close by! read more

My wife and I just split a fried haddock and shrimp combo plate. Our 7-year-old son had a cheeseburger. We sat outside on a charming deck with shaded picnic tables and huge rocking chairs. You order at the counter, then find a seat. The service was the fastest I've ever seen for this kind of place, and the food was flawless. The fries were fat, fresh, and hot from the fryer. The fish and shrimp were done just right. The condiment portions were huge. So was the burger. Prices were comparable to other seafood joints, and the food was much better. We'll be back. read more

It was my first time here. I had the fried scallops. They were good except for one thing. When prepping scallops, the "foot" needs to be removed otherwise the "foot" acts like a rubber band not allowing the scallop to expand a bit when it cooks, using whichever method one prefers. I say 4/5. Pros: service was great, scallops weren't really greasy for being fried, meaning fresh oil & proper temp, the seafood was fresh, & byob! Attention to detail would make it a 5/5. NOT CONSISTANT Spring time, a walk to W Acton, check out the Farmer's Market and lunch on the deck at Twin Seafood. We ordered 2 servings of Fish and Chips. Large servings of battered fish chunks looked delicious. Unfortunately the batter on the inside of the larger chunks was not fully cooked. The fish - while not sashimi, was also far from cooked. My wife took a byte of the slaw, commented that it tasted "funny" and closed the container. I sampled and found a sour and bitter taste. Something spoiled ? No luck in getting the waiter's attention. We dug around and ate the thinner pieces of fish and discarded the rest. Asked to speak to the cook believing he should have a say before I posted this. Response was "sorry about that" and in response to the suggestion that he check the slaw - "we use vinegar in the slaw" Yes, I use several vinegars at home, none taste spoiled.
