Ok so before I came I called to make sure they weren't closed. The girl told me they closed at 7:30pm but the website says 8. I checked when I sat down to wait for my food. From the moment I stepped in the girl seemed bothered that I came in. I should have stopped here but I really wanted seafood. I asked for the crabcake platter and a small cup of chowder. She then grabbed my crab cakes (which were ok nothing to write home about They tasted old and cold) with her hands to give to the girl in the back who had gloves wth!! I was in the area for a hockey tournament recently. This is a combination of Fish Market and restaurant. I had their "lobster roll". For $16, the portion size was good. It comes on a non-traditional round bun which reminds me of a sloppy joe or a pulled pork sandwich. The staff were really friendly and helpful. For a place in the middle of nowhere, the food was excellent, reasonably priced, and supported by a great staff. This was by far the best meal I had in the area. read more

I never like to do this, but I must perform a downgrade here. Nothing is BAD, per se, but seems that food of late is not as good as it used to be. Last couple meals have definitely been less enjoyable than the first couple. The last lobster roll wasn't even worth finishing - maybe they were'nt happy lobsters, but that thing didn't exhibit a very fresh flavor. The rolls need a change-up - and the cole slaw has that "came from a food service bucket" taste. I need better slaw for my fried fish - which btw, they still do very well. Sooooo good! If I was married to another seafood restaurant I would divorce it and run off with Twin Seafood in Acton and raise a whole family of little Twins. We stopped in for the first time today and had THE BEST grilled haddock and scallops of our whole lives. The best in the universe! Seriously humble and sweet little cafe/fish market with nice service and a quaint New England vibe. It might even be worth moving to Massachusetts just to keep coming back! I really like their seafood but the last two times I've been there they've been very rude and seem unhappy, like they don't want to be there and wish they were somewhere else. However, the most upsetting thing and the reason I'm only giving them one star is because both times I've been there the cooks have not been wearing their masks!!!! They've been around their neck or draped off an ear. If any of them are positive for COVID they're breathing all over our food and the containers they serve the food in. I don't think I can go back and feel safe. We wiped down our meal containers both times but they're clearly not following guidelines or don't have any. Very sad to stop going there. read more

This is my first review on Yelp - I created an account just to write this review I wanted to like Twin Seafood, I really did ... and I wanted to support a local mom and pop establishment given that there are fewer and fewer of them these days. I purchased a pound and a half of Scrod from their counter today to and took it home immediately to cook dinner- the smell in the car should have tipped me off, but I dismissed it. When I opened up the package in the house, it STUNK up the entire place ... well, I thought it may smell bad, but if I just cook it outside, how bad could it taste, but boy was I wrong! The icing on the cake was when I called to complain, all I got was a curt, "Sorry you feel that way" - no sincere apology, no offer to make it right. My bad for thinking that when you pay upwards of $18 a pound for fish one can expect quality and maybe even a bit of honesty and smidgen of decency. Fool me once, shame on you - there will not be a chance to fool me twice, you have lost a customer for life. read more

I live in California and was planning my 50th birthday in Massachusetts. I found Twin Seafood online. They have a great website so I called to schedule the party. Dan was so nice and easy to work with. The party was fantastic. They bring everything...plates, crackers, bibs. Food and service wonderful. They really care about the entire experience and not just getting paid. I really felt like they were part of my family. I highly recommend them for any event. read more

The seafood is delicious and consistent quality. But tonight I went to pick up a very large order for a family of 6 and the price was 25% more than expected!! I had calculated the price based on the online menu prices. When I went to pick up our order I was given the BIG price increase total!! I questioned the huge increase in prices I was just told the prices had been increased. I asked for an itemized receipt, that wasn't possible, I asked for a current menu with updated prices, they didn't have any, I asked them to honor the prices online, they would not!!! The fish is delicious but the place is filthy filthy filthy! I've seen a fly inside the refrigerated area with the raw fish. The floor and counter is covered in grime. There's a wonderful deck outside where they have live music in the summer, but the wooden picnic tables are covered in grime (no plastic table cloth). Flies and yellow jackets swarm you while you try to eat. I really want to live this place because the food is great and they potential us huge! But this place is so dirty I'd be shocked if it could pass a board of health inspection. Please, clean up your act!! read more

Everything I get here is amazing, my favorite is the Fried Clams , honestly one of the best seafood places in the area. Also they have daily specials which are also great for lunch. Welcome to the neighborhood, Twin Seafood! I've never been to the other location in West Concord, but since the West Acton location opened about two weeks ago I've been planning to check it out. I stopped by to get take out for lunch today. It's a fairly typical clam shack style menu with an assortment of fresh and fried seafood available as sandwiches or platters. I opted for the Fried Haddock sandwich, and was not disappointed. I often go for the fish sandwich when I'm at a clam shack, and this was better than most I've had on the Cape or in the North Shore. The fish was fresh and well prepared. More flavorful than a lot of similar sandwiches I've had. The restaurant is small inside, but it has a nice deck with outdoor seating that includes rocking chairs and picnic tables. As noted by others, they also sell fresh fish and live lobster, but I can't comment on those since I just got take out. Definitely a welcome addition to West Acton! read more

Generally this seems like a good place, and seemingly they're a decent fishmonger, but frankly almost everything we ordered was disappointing. The clam chowder was not -- it received high marks from my kids. Yet the Grilled Swordfish was very dry and overcooked. It looked like it was "pre-chewed" but I am hoping it had just stuck to the grill and they scraped it off. The Clam Roll was on a thick/tough Hard Roll (so had to throw out the bread and eat the clams) and the Chicken Strips were just generic and frozen, but the kids didn't complain. The steamers didn't taste fresh and the butter was unsalted -- but weren't horrible and indeed we ate them all. It is not a *bad* place per se, but our experience was subpar and we will not be returning. read more

I ordered a piece of salmon today to put on a salad that I had made from home. When I called to order, the gentleman that picked up the phone seemed aggravated that I didn't know what a lunch portion of grilled salmon was, even though it wasn't on the menu. I went to pick up my order and was charged $10.00, got back and opened the box to see a small piece of fish. I was curious so I weighed it on my food scale, it ended up being 3.8oz. I called to see if I was charged correctly and accidentally called the Concord location. They said the piece of COOKED fish should be AT LEAST 6oz. I was then transferred to the Acton location where they told me they weigh the raw fish at 6oz first and then cook it. The phone call was not helpful at all and it was almost like I was being told "it is what it is". It was very good, so I am not giving one star, but it is ridiculous that I paid $10.00 for 3.8oz of fish. If the fish loses 2oz of water after being cooked, and your lunch portion is supposed to be 6oz of cooked fish, then maybe weigh the raw fish at 8oz? Won't go back here. read more

They get all the stars not for fanciness but for doing one thing very well. They offer fresh seafood, both to eat in and to take home. I dropped in for lunch and had some clam chowder and a small plate of fried clams. I have enough left over for tomorrow's lunch, if I can wait that long. The clams were fried in a light batter and the chowder was rich but not cloying. I'm a very happy camper! This market/restaurant is a great addition to West Acton. It's pretty, it's clean, the staff is very friendly, and the menu offerings are tempting and reasonably priced. I've been eagerly waiting for them to open, and I was not disappointed. read more

I phoned repeatedly to place a pick up order, no answer. I decided to make the drive. I was promptly greeted by an unsmiling cashier, and placed my order. I waited in the indoor dining area (there was a super cute outdoor area as well). While waiting, the phone rang, and the cashier answered it, when she hung up, she told her co-worker, "I'm leaving it off the hook, it's too busy". Well that explains that!! The place did get hopping (fri eve, 5:30) and they definitely could have used a couple extra hands!! Just one cook a cashier, and a food runner. Foods ready, thy dont have any cocktail sauce, I'll survive. Combo platter was surprisingly small, and scallops full of sand. I was so disappointed! Shrimp was good, fries soggy. And now I've read reviews here that they are there -- they just don't feel like answering. Nice. I've tried ordering in person, and they actually didn't call my name when the order was ready, they "forgot." Rude and careless. I don't recommend it. Twin seafood is small sit-down or carry-out fish and seafood restaurant in West Acton. It has a small kitchen and it's menu is mostly seafood (90+%), but they also have a burger and a few other non-seafood items available. They offer cooked and uncooked fish, lobster, and other ocean finds. In talking with the staff, I was told they bring fresh fish up from the docks downtown every day. I have been here for lunch about a dozen times and have also picked up fish to-go. I tend to stick with fish dishes (Salmon, Tuna, Swordfish, Haddock) all of which have been wonderful and my friends have enjoyed their chowder and oysters as well. I specifically recommend fish-n-chips, fish tacos, or a simple grilled fish sandwich. There isn't anything fancy about this place, they have seating for about 20 people in a small area, but the food is amazing and the guys behind the counter are friendly. The place has a real family feel... there is something local about it. If you are looking for fine dining, then this may not be the place for you, but if you are looking fresh, amazing fish and crustaceans, then this might be worth a visit. Despite prior visits where I had issues I gave this place another shot. Clams were gummy and clumped together. The scallops were undercooked. I think they gave me worms! It's now an hour later and I am crapping my brains out. Never Never again! You would think that a company with 2 restaurants would know how to make their "signature" products. It was a Saturday afternoon and not very busy, but the woman at the register wasn't really up for answering questions or providing any help. My wife and I had the pleasure of grabbing lunch at Twin Seafood today. This location is cozy - about 6 tables on the inside as well as 6 or so picnic tables on the outside deck. We were served promptly and the food was absolutely outstanding. I had a clam roll - delicious, full bellied clams served on a toasted bulkie roll...which actually works better than the usual New England style hot dog roll. Side of onion rings were outstanding - best rings I've had since I used to get them as a kid up at Salisbury Beach...beer battered, thick, and not once did an onion fall out of the coating. Wife had a fish and chip plate that looked outstanding as well. Whole meal (with a couple of sodas) set us back about $30. So, not too cheap - but also not ridiculously expensive. I love Legal Seafoods, but you can't get out of there for less than $80 on a good day. This is an excellent local alternative. We'll be back! read more

First of all - huge kudos for having a relaxed fun vibe in the middle of suburbia. We love the outdoor seating (both on the patio and the lawn) and that it's a BYOB establishment. We have visited twice in the past three weeks - and the second visit was prompted largely by the atmosphere of the place with it's "summer casual" feel which was just right on a hot summer's day. The food itself rates a 3 or a 3.5 star in our book. The fried food is "okay" - not awesome - and the french fries are really a disappointment. Opting for the sweet potato fries is a much better flavor experience. Skip the onion rings - trust us on this. During our first visit two of us got the combo fried plate; one of us got the grilled salmon, another got the fried scallop and shrimp plate. All for of us agreed: just "so so" on the quality of the fried food that night (shrimps are small, scallops were very good quality). On our second visit (a Saturday night) we waited more than 40 minutes for our food to be delivered but the staff was patient with many patrons who were IMpatient (really people - do you think berating the staff by saying "but when WILL it come out of the kitchen?? is any better than your kids in the back seat saying "when will we be there??"). We were just enjoying a glass of wine from the bottle we brought and the summer evening. We had to share a picnic table with another couple because they were so busy, but that was fine. On the second visit there we ordered stuffed clams (two large in an order for $5) - promising flavor, but the interior was cold and the outside very, very crispy. We also shared a fried fish sandwich (very good) and a lobster roll (also very good). For a night where clearly the kitchen was slammed and everyone behind the counter was young, we have to give them a second chance on the stuffed clams and big thumbs up for grace under pressure. Bottom line: don't go expecting an awesome food experience, but do go expecting to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere that brings just a little bit of Cape Cod to W. Acton Village. Bring insect repentant - the mosquitoes really set in as the sun goes down, your sense of fun, and kick back. read more
