There are great little shops out on the surrounding streets too. It is clean and safe. Squid fry-guy has his cart set-up right near the entrance! Love the energy and the ambiance. Great for a second date or for young to teens- they will love it! Also good for taking out of town visitors. Plenty of food options- street or sit-down, snack to full meal. Tons of tea-bakeries-boba options.

Similar to other Asian market set ups you'll be able to pick up hot food and other items like sashimi as well as other Japanese snacks and goodies. I also happened to pick up some good protein shakes on sale there as well as noted some other staples that I would find in big chain supermarkets. I found the aisles to be well stocked. Prices everywhere are going up so I wouldn't say this is the cheapest place to shop but for what you get it's not bad, and if you are looking to get a variety of what you need for Asian cooking this is a good spot for it. Service was quick and friendly at the register as this no frills and casual market. There is a parking garage behind the grocery as part of the mall but it can get crowded on weekends so if you're lucky you can find street parking but watch for street signs and some areas and streets are not in the best neighborhoods adjacent so be wary of your surroundings.

We purchased a whole piece of ocean trout this time to celebrate Christmas and the employee offered to fillet the fish. I baked it in the oven with a few kinds of citrus on top. It was so delicious. Everyone loved it. There is a private parking lot that has security This place gets busy so expect some delays while shopping here. All the wait is worth it cause you get fresh seafood that is reasonably priced

Everything I bought was either freshly alive or freshly dead. Either way, it was FRESH. I love that they had such a huge variety of fresh seafood. I have never had live Spot Prawns (commonly known as Amaebi or Sweet Shrimp) that was so big! They were pricey at $38 a pound, but that is still much cheaper than what you can get at restaurants. I got fresh Halibut, live Manila Clams, live Amaebi, and live Oysters, but they have so much more! Not everything is out on display, so you need to ask someone. Speaking of asking someone, this can be daunting if you've never been here before. This place normally sells to restaurants, so household consumers need to keep in mind that they do not provide "customer service" here. All the negative reviews about the lack of customer service is sort of true, but they DO help you. You need to be persistent and ask and be patient while they fill their restaurant orders. Yes, it can be frustrating, but we are not their regulars and we are at the bottom of their priority. Yes, get off your high horse if you plan to come here to buy good seafood. I don't have a horse so I manage :). Also, there is a tiny parking lot... which is filled with workers cars so there really isn't much of any parking on the premise. I came on a Thursday at 5:45 a.m. and got the last spot. When I left at 6:30 a.m., it was a zoo in the parking lot. This is located in a sketchy part of LA, so be careful and be safe.
