My wife chose the spot on a whim while we were driving around Old Market. We sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather. The young guy that was our server was really nice and easy to talk to. My bacon and Swiss chicken sandwich is obviously a favorite because I felt like everyone was ordering it. I'm not a huge sandwich person, but this was delicious. It has been a while since we have been to this place. Luckily, the food has stayed at an even keel. My reviews are normally for the management along the lines of "What could be better". So here goes. I am assuming that businesses have happy hours and happy hour prices during slow times in order to keep business up. That is great for us as we like to avoid the heavy customer times. Normally, less guests means that staff has more time for the customers in the place of business. Not so here. I think the staff on this particular Wednesday really did not care about the early birds. They really functioned as order takers and order servers. There are lots of restaurants downtown who have exceptional service at all times. You risk being overtaken by them Another item. If you advertise drink specials at least have the ingredients for them. I took my wife 3 orders to get an appropriate adult beverage. She is nice and settled for a simple drink. Sorry, no 5 stars for you. But, the food kept you above average. The jury (mi exposa and I) are still out on this. We operate on the 3 strikes and thank your very much. This used to be my go to in Omaha every time I would come to town but somehow they have lost their focus. Last night I went there for dinner and the receptionist said they didn't have silverware and they wouldn't be able to serve us for 15-20 minutes. We said that's fine, we could wait at the bar and have a drink while we wait. The place was at best half full. AND I was charged WRONGLY for the food - I splited the chicken rice bowl with a friend, and it was just over 10 dollars on the receipt. However, I checked the bank statements afterwards and found out that I was charged $38.94. When I called the restaurant on 3:38 pm May 9 (local time) , I was told that my receipt included a chicken rice bowl and another food, and my signature was on that ticket. The manager (or waiter?) even BLAMED me for not looking at the receipt. BUT I REMEMBER I FXXKING CHECKED THE RECEIPT TO CALCULATE THE TIPS. Definitely they created fake receipts and falsify signatures. The best part is yet to come. The guy offered to refund and asked me to provide my full card number and valid date - I was so naive to believe that shit and provide my information. Of course, I did not receive anything, and immediately my debit card was fraudulently charged and deactivated. OBVIOUSLY it's not their first time - I found several reviews from people who have the similar experience (see attached). AGAIN, BE CAREFUL ABOUT THIS PLACE! I've been wanting to try twisted fork downtown. My boyfriend decided to take me here for Valentines Day. We enjoyed the artichoke spinach dip, the truffle chicken, and the gouda mac and cheese (not pictured). The food was just alright. I was a little disappointed by the mac and cheese and the risotto. The cheese sauce was too thin for a pasta dish. Mac and cheese, you expect the dish to be thick and cheezy. The garlic risotto is VERY garlicky, a little too overpowering. I did really enjoy the artichoke dip. It's made from scratch, and I love that it's not a cream cheese base. The staff is so nice and welcoming. We really liked our waitress Michele. The Garlic Bruschetta Bread was alright, I wasn't a fan of the balsamic reduction on top, but some folks might be. The Vegas Tots were exactly what you would expect from tater tots drenched in Buffalo sauce. The tots got pretty soggy by the time we were 1/4 of the way through it, and the texture didn't really cut it for me. I was in town for the weekend and came here from the recommendation from my friend. I had high hopes for this place but it was just okay. I came when things after Covid reopened. I liked how in the restaurant they had napkins on the tables to not use to ensure social distancing. I was deciding between the grilled cheese or the steak sammy. I am so thankful for Yelp so I got to see what the steak sammy looked like and I am glad I opted out. I got the grilled cheese with tots and it was good! Nothing special but it was good. My boyfriend got the club sammy but they were out of turkey lol so he did double ham. The bread was soggy. But he said he really liked the sauce. I love the price points on the drinks! For $6 for a bloody and $6 for a mule that cannot be beat! They also have cute mimosa flights. Also the pickles here are SO good. Super crisp and picklely and so fresh. Fried and normal pickles just on the side of your sandwich. However, the service is a bit slow here. It might be because they are getting back into things but that also means that it is not busy. My friends got a refill on coffee and that's something pretty immediate and can be done quickly, but she came and refilled it I totally forgot they asked for more so it probably took like 10 minutes. And when we asked for the check it also took another 10 minutes and I looked around the restaurant it was pretty empty so I was confused. Like I said earlier this place is just okay. If you have not been here before the restaurant is beautiful. Love the decor. The chandeliers are awesome! Now I ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer and the famous buttermilk chicken salad. The sprouts had amazing flavor but just needed to be charred a bit more. My salad was very good. Well dressed and the chicken was nice and crispy and hot. In town for work and love being in the Old Market area! Have been wanting to try this place for a while but always seemed to be sidetracked by another place! Tonight I was on a mission and that mission once again paid off as this area of Omaha has some killer places to eat! Twisted Fork is on that list! The atmosphere is great, we had excellent service from Stephanie and the food was outstanding! We got the pork chop and the pitchfork meatloaf and Gouda Mac n cheese! Portions are excellent and the price is beyond fair for the quality of food and the amount of food! The drinks were not weak and the prices are extremely fair! First time to Omaha and while checking out the Old Market District, I got hungry and came here on a Monday afternoon around 5:15. I did not get served until at least 15 MINUTES LATER and the restaurant was half empty. And when I did get served, the server was not friendly at all. Then there was a couple of diners who came in and sat down in front of me; they got served within ONE minute. I'm not certain if this was due to the fact that I happened to be the ONLY Asian person there and the rest were Caucasians including the couple in front of me. They had at least 5 servers so the restaurant was not lacking in labor. Then hoards of diners started coming in, they were served within 2 minutes and they were all Caucasians. Moreover, the host had a personality of a brick. He was not friendly and did not thank me upon my walking out the restaurant. Then my food came... it was not the best rib-eye I've had.
