The atmosphere was truly perfect for productive coworking and a delicious meal! We started with the Brussel sprouts, and I usually don't opt for them but after trying them I was surprised and delighted! The creamy sauce they paired them with was a perfect starter to my meal: a classic reuben with fries. I can always go for a good reuben, and Burdock and Bitters delivered! The bread was toasty and the meat was tender and flavorful. The serving was also sizable and I had plenty of leftovers, even having it as dinner too and still being full!

I'm not sure if it gets pretty busy at times, but we were the only group of people there when we went, and it seemed rather large and empty. The bartender was a little snippety, but I wasn't sure if this was part of the "schtick" or not, because she wasn't mean or rude, just a little short and hurrying us up to order (humming the Jeopardy theme song when someone was looking at the menu to decide). I took it as funny, so not mad about it or anything. I liked the vibe of the place feeling like you're in Ireland almost, but the cost is a bit expensive for the tiny beer sizes you get. Also you would think for trying to be an Irish pub type theme, they'd serve drinks in real pint glasses, but I got a tiny 12oz or so plastic cup of beer for $5. There are some good things about Annie's, but I think I prefer a few other places in The Capitol District, like Let it Fly or Roxxy.

I said no I needed a receipt for work. So I waited another 15 until she could find somebody to help her with the register paper. Do yourself a favor and stop here before or after dinner for a welcoming atmosphere and any cocktail you can imagine from the basic to most complex.

This place was awesome! I had never been there before. We went here before a hockey game and had a great time! The atmosphere is very unique. It is in the Old Market and has a historic feel to it. There are old brick floors with black crystal chandeliers and cool black and white cowboy photographs on the wall. We ate at their bar and had a few of their special cocktails. Very cool! The bartender Mel was great. We started with their hot wings. They were good size. Then my friend had a burger and I had their 10 oz. filet. They were cooked perfect and my steak was very tender. I can't believe people are actually enjoying this place. I went with a group of 5, and every single dish we ordered at this place was mediocre to terrible. HORRIBLE fried chicken --some sort of unidentifiable (I guess they were chicken) parts covered in a mushy coating. Blech. Mediocre steaks and uninspired sandwiches. The bloody mary had an inch of sediment at the bottom AND they put pickle juice in it. Double blech. Weird decor as well. NOT GOOD. Never again. read more

We stopped down to the Twisted Fork to try something new. It was awesome! They have an incredible drink list. I had the Brazillian Cucumber and loved it. My wife had the Twisted Sunrise martini with passion fruit tequilla. For an appetizer we had the fried pickles. We'd never had anything like that. Told I wouldn't be served at 6:15 pm on a Wednesday because I was a single person without a reservation. The restaurant was not packed. A reservation for a single person is ridiculous. I went to another restaurant, had my dinner, and was out in less than 20 minutes. I have worked every job in the restaurant industry, and I feel that was the wrong decision. It makes the whole experience feel special without making you feel like you have to be on your best behavior just because you're eating somewhere nice. And the food is SO good. This is one of those places where I genuinely feel like you can order almost anything on the menu and be happy. Every dish I've tried has been flavorful, thoughtfully put together, and just really well executed. There's clearly a lot of care that goes into the ingredients and the way everything is prepared. We got nachos, a burger and of course I got ribs. They melt in your mouth! We also tried and bought the voodoo Ranger sweet ride IPA. It was ice cold and delicious.
