Not a bad breakfast/brunch spot. Located on Granville across the Best Western in an easy-to-miss spot if you're driving. On the inside, it's kind of tight. The room is long and narrow, and if you're sitting on the outside part of your table, you'll probably get bumped by people walking by. The menu is designed to be a clipboard with a fork with twisted prongs wired onto it, hence the name of the establishment. Ordered off the brunch portion and got the scrambled eggs. The eggs are cooked up and mixed with some sweet caramelized onions. Interesting touch of flavor, but it's good. Also, came with rosti (pretty much a hash brown) and sautéed spinach. Their ketchup is supposed to be some kind of special and they sell it separately, if you're into that. For what you get though, I think $16.50 CAD is reasonable. Unfortunately I had high hopes for this place after hearing about it for years and good reviews here. I found it to be just OK. We came here for brunch on the weekend. The wait was about 30 minutes, which is on the low end of the spectrum. There are very few places that warrant a wait, in my opinion, and I wouldn't wait again. We had the Baked eggs and Croque Monsieur. They were both fine, tasted good, but pretty standard diner food to be honest. For $17.50 for a brunch dish, I expect something that you can't get at dozens of other places for half the price. Otherwise, the service was friendly (maitre d' was very charming and welcoming), and the space was home-y (although a bit dark for my liking). I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, I think there are some other fantastic options for brunch in Vancouver that are not as expensive and don't require a wait. read more

Much hype.... but failed to deliver the goods. We came in early Saturday morning for brunch. We got there at 1030 and we were told there would be a 45 min. wait.... no biggie, we didnt have any reservations or anything so we were fine with it. Leave your number behind and they will text you when it's your turn, at which point you can either tell them you can't make it or continue on with your rsvp. So we ordered a fritatta and baked eggs and also caesar cocktail (it's like a canadian version of a bloody mary). Our food came out relatively quickly and the caesar was delicious. But our entree's were no bueno. Both of our egg dishes were way over cooked, the frittatta fared a bit better as it was only slightly rubbery. My baked eggs were basically vaporized in the dish. You couldn't even tell there was gouda cheese in the dish, everything was just baked hard. The bacon was was just barely cooked, it wasn't crispy or even half crispy half cooked. Came here for an impromptu breakfast one recent weekday, around 9-9:30am. I had expected a wait but there was none; we got a seat right away by the window. What a cute place! From the hanging fork mobile to the twisted forks clipped onto the wooden menu boards, it's awfully cute! The hostess and server were super nice. I ordered a "boring" dish just with scrambled eggs and bacon (it's not on the menu but you can still order poached or scrambled eggs, FYI). They sure don't scrimp on the bacon; there were 5 or 6 large strips (maybe even 7. I forget. It was a LOT!). And they were good! And the eggs were seasoned so well, they were great. The most amazing thing to ever touch the tongue. The greatest brunch of all time. The best morning OF MY LIFE!!!! As I mentioned, the asiago scones are the food of the gods. Add the homemade strawberry jam, and you may just have to roll yourself out of the restaurant. The servers were super nice about our wet luggage and didn't mind us putting them in the bar area. We started off with the asiago scones with some pumpkin jam and then both had egg bennys with ham and salmon. I absolutely love their online waitlist. It supposedly shows how many people are ahead of you. Fortunate enough when we went there was no line and we got seated at the bar. Got myself a raspberry fizz and my friend got a hot chocolate. Can't comment on the hot chocolate but it looked thick and delicious. The fizz was very refreshing and I recommend getting it during hot summer days. Twisted fork has been on my brunch list for quite a while now but sadly they started raising the prices the weekend we went; by just a dollar though. So no biggie. I settled for the eggs benny with pulled pork and it was 3/5. Simple good grub but nothing that'll blow your socks off. Friends and I came here for brunch on our day trip to Vancouver and gotta give props to Yelp for getting it right again! We strolled in at around 9:00 am on a Saturday and was given a 20-25 minute wait, which wasn't too bad considering the limited space inside and the crowd waiting outside. There were plenty of other stores around the area, so we went for a nice stroll in the crispy cool Canadian weather. No biggie. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and served waters immediately right after. Service throughout the time we were there was impeccable to be honest; however, it was quite loud in the restaurant, and more than a couple of times, I had to shout out my replies to the waitress. It probably didn't help that the property was a bit small to accommodate the amount of people that were wanting to come in. Bless her soul cause I probably made her ears ring. I had chosen to get the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon, and good Lord that was probably the best decision I made in Canada. Brioche was toasted to perfection, salmon was tasty, the poached eggs were to die for, and the hollandaise was light and creamy. Even the sides of spinach and beans were on point! The restaurant is pretty small and has only maybe a dozen booths and the decor is pretty hip. So we went with a scrambled eggs and croque monsieur and a side of fruits. The presentation of the food is good and taste decent as well. The sandwich had a bit of mustard in it to accentuate the taste and the fruits were cut very nicely. From the moment we were greeted at the door of this packed little bistro, I knew this was a gem. Nestled in a long narrow space on Granville, serving only brunch, it's worth the wait. Our server was all about customer service. He was on top of every menu item and made us the most amazing Cesar drinks I've every had. All of us ordered Eggs Benny with bacon over brioche. I think I had 4 thick slices of bacon, 2 perfectly poached local eggs with very dark orange yolks-definitely organic, topped with creamy hollandaise sauce. Definitely the best eggs ben and a great culinary experience. Spinach, hash browns, and baked beans were on the side. On the wall, in the back of the restaurant, is floor to ceiling shelves packed with an assortment of canned and pickled goods; beans and Brussels sprouts which are used in the Cesar's, relishes, jams, carrots etc etc. My daughter and I were admiring the variety (which are all for sale) and one of the owners, Cody, came out and spoke with us briefly. Explaining that all of the canned goods are his grandmas recipes and he personally makes all of them. Very impressive. The food was amazing. We came a Saturday morning so it was a tad crowded but we were able to sit at the bar without a wait. We wanted to try some of their drinks I got the slinky mink which was raspberry purée and bubbly. Not too sweet it was just right. And my lover got a Dill Cesar's which was very delicious. I didn't know dill was a herb lol We got the eggs Benedict which was a little different than I'm used to. In the states it normally comes on a English muffin but here it comes on sour dough. Different taste but still very good. Their hashbrowns are amazing: I could lose the spinach next time and add extra hash browns if possible. They were amazing. We also got the baked egg. Came with the same sides almost, beans, hash and spinach. It was very delicious. I definitely recommend this place, the service is amazing and they make some amazing drinks here. It's difficult to pull off French press coffee well in a restaurant setting, but they did it perfectly and were more than willing to refill as desired. I had breakfast here and one thing I can say is they're not joking with the portion. I ordered a croque monsieur that was literally 2 croque monsieurs! And it was delicious. Staff very accomodating since I couldn't eat ham they transformed it into a grilled cheese sandwich. The tomato sauce that comes with it is really good. They have a big selection of different juice for the morning (not just your usual O.J). Other food on our table included the banana toast with cinnamon and the scones with homemade strawberry/cognac jam (it lacked clotted cream but hey, we're not in the UK anymore). We recently stopped in to the Twisted Fork for breakfast on a Thursday morning and found that they had a wait for a table, so we wandered around the block and explored the neighborhood for 20 minutes or so while we waited. I liked the technology they use to manage their table waitlist, texting when the table is almost ready and allowing us to request more time if we could not make it back to the restaurant soon. I also liked the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. From the colorful pillows used as seat backs along the walls to the individual French press, sugar, and cream, the Twisted Fork had a very intimate feel. As for the food, I have to agree with another reviewer and say... "Not bad, but not amazing." My husband and I are both suckers for a good eggs benedict, so when we go out for breakfast or brunch, it is almost always what we order, and this time was no different. I ordered the eggs benny with pulled pork, while my husband ordered the eggs benny with ham. The eggs were poached perfectly, the brioche worked in place of the traditional English muffin, and the hollandaise was plentiful enough to leave me content. While the pulled pork was tasty, I didn't particularly enjoy it on a benny and I soon came to regret not choosing the ham as well. The sides, however, left us a bit disappointed and made the meal seem rather confused and disjointed - we both were left wanting more rosti, less spinach, and no beans. I love baked beans, but these just weren't a very good version and didn't seem to belong with the dish. My husband compared them to the kind of beans he used to get in his MREs in the military, and well, that's just never something you want to hear said about your food. The rosti and spinach could have both used a bit more seasoning. Overall, I think that their eggs benny dish would be much better if they just simplified it, rather than trying to over complicate a classic. I'd say we got our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering and they were busy. This place is pretty popular and it's very small inside so allow yourself about a 30 minute wait just in case. There aren't too many time when FOMO literally tears me apart from the inside out when it comes to making a food decision, yet when dining at the Twisted Fork while in Vancouver the pain of missing out was all too real. On one hand I was looking at the menu and was all but ready to make a go at the Eggs Benedict option on their menu. I had read the reviews, seen the pictures and was basically sold on trying their take on my favourite breakfast item. On the other hand, while perusing their menu, I also caught a glimpse of another menu item that I'd read about in their reviews and seen pictures of on their page - the stuffed banana French toast. So here I am, facing the dilemma of choice, sweet... or savoury. On average, 9.995 times out of 10, savoury wins hands down. And I was leaning toward that this time and going with the eggs benny, but then the server said that if I got the French toast I could order a side of bacon to get some savoury with my sweet. SOLD - she made so much sense. A literal pile of French toast soon arrived to my seat and wow, there was at least 6 or so slices of bread there, cooked to a crisp on the outside and crusty from the caramelized sugar. Inside the banana was also caramelized heightening the sweetness of the fruit pairing perfectly with the french toast. Also, worth mentioning was the side of bacon. I'm used to 2-3 overcooked pieces of bacon as a typical 'side'. Not at the Twisted Fork - no sir. I got half a pack of bacon cooked to a perfect mix of soft and yet firm - amazing! Lastly, the coffee service here was outstanding. Everyone who orders a coffee is provided with their own personal french press full of coffee (3-4 cups easy). My wife loves the brunch. For years I did not know this fact. We always lazed our Sunday mornings at home with triple lattes made by yours truly. We ate healthy stuff, like steel cut oatmeal with almond milk - freshly squeezed. We drank Green Smoothies made of kale, spinach, apple and banana.
