Well we have meant to get back to this location with the new name and new theme and we were not disappointed. The place is great. Happy hour is really a great deal and the staff is wonderful. This was even with a super obnoxious Xmas party in the back. The Chicken Flautas were amazing, the Mac n' Cheese Balls were recommended with good reason. Also the Truffle Fries were bomb. So much fun watching the World Series. Sat at the bar with my partner. What great customer service by all, especially our bartender. We enjoyed the local beers on tap, and even more so their sides, as they were so delicious! We had Roasted Brussels Sprouts--perfection--and the Buffalo Cauliflower--drooling still! My partner ordered a sandwich, he enjoyed it so much that he didn't even share with me, even as I was sharing my two sides! Smh But that's ok. I didn't need anything else..well...I did have to order tequila, as I wasn't driving so that was a perfect way to end out visit at this awesome place. I don't live close by at all, but if I make it to Camarillo again, know that we'll be back! Food was VERY good. Service was not so much. First we waited almost ten minutes for a host to even greet us. Waiters walked by but no one said anything to us. Finally the bartender walked out from behind the bar and told us we could sit wherever we wanted to. Brittany our server was super nice but messed up 2 out of 3 orders. Never brought me a second beer (their in-house brews are excellent). I asked the server for mustard and he never came back. I then asked the hostess and finally got some, of course I was almost done with my sandwich at that point Head scratcher. This place could be awesome. I have a feeling the management is not on the ball. I will give it a second chance but hopefully they'll read the review and tighten things up. read more

I was in the Camarillo restaurant tonight with a group of people celebrating an event. Someone from our group had pre ordered the Hogzilla (it takes several hours to cook). It is a featured dish in their Agoura venue and it features a pig's head cooked to tender perfection. I was told that it was the first time that they prepared it at this location. Well, we were not disappointed. It was great !! Really tender and quite tasty !! The other dishes and drinks our group ordered were good as well. The staff was courteous and very efficient. It was the first time we had a group event in a restaurant during this pandemic. We enjoyed our food and the socialization and a great time was had by all. I will certainly come back and, with the right group, i will probably order the Hogzilla again ! read more

Visiting for the first time. We arrived at 1630. There was no one directing us where to sit. We had to find the menus. Then waited for quite a while before the bartender cam over to get our order. Our drinks arrived fairly quickly. My wife ordered a Vodka Tonic. She sipped on it and remarked that the tonic was flat. We could not find a waitstaff to talk to and the bartender was busy. When he returned to see how we were we remarked that the tonic was flat. He stated "I'm sorry. I'll correct that on the next one." My wife had hardly sipped on her first one. I was disappointed that he didn't say I'm sorry. Let me get you a fresh one or sorry, no charge. No big deal but that would have had a favorable impression. The other waitstaff seemed to be more interested in visiting returning customers or friends. The food was average. I had the seafood linguine and my wife the Mahi tacos. It was nice that the TV or music was not loud and we were able to have a conversation. read more

Solid spot in Cam for Happy Hour! Prices for drinks and food were great. I LOVED the garlic aioli sauce that came with the fries!! The margarita flatbread was also tasty. The service was super good - both our waitresses were super friendly and patient. They also checked in pretty regularly with us, which is always nice. Ample seating in booths as well as at the bar when I arrived around 5 on a Friday evening. In general their pours are pretty generous, but my friend and I both ordered house wines and one came out with a noticeably bigger pour than the other. Not a HUGE deal, but definitely was strange, esp because we ordered two of the exact same things. Otherwise, it's a great spot for a HH! read more

Despite our disappointment we decided to try the place for lunch. Unfortunately, only the "naked" fries were the highlight. We have been to the one in Agoura which we really liked and this one opened up in our 'hood. The decor is so awesome when you walk in. So modern and welcoming. The PBJ burger was okay but the bbq smoky joes is better. Too much peanut butter in this one. The flatbread was perfect! Light and soft and not too much cheese or grease. We shall return! Oh. Very slow service. Our server would disappear for an hour at a time. Had to go to bar to order drinks, tired of waiting for our server. Asked for well done hamburger. Received it raw. The Ken guy is lying about the young ladies handled a drunk man at this restraunt. I was sitting with my 2 little girls eating lunch in a booth, I don't think neither man seen me. I always eat lunch there it's a great place to chill and work, I do music. I over heard a caucasian man upset because he didn't want to pay for his 2nd drink, completely drunk. The 2 young ladies handled that situation the best they could, they didn't scream at the man nor argue with the man. The Ken guy just sat there instead of telling the man that he was in the wrong. A real man would've stepped up to a drunk man when he's arguing with a woman. To say the girl with the Purple is a spit in the face also when he should have her name on the receipt, he's trying to make her look hood. That guy was pissed and could've took it to another level. Both Shavonn and Brittany did a great job being the only 2 people up front handling a situation like that, most women would've been afraid and called the police,. What did the Ken guy want the African American girl to, say yessa massa here's your free drink ? This ain't no bow down to a caucasian man era, this is stand your ground. She did what her boss would want her to , she told the guy no, that man was drunk. What better way could it had been handle ? When I walked in, the African American girl was having a conversation with Ken, the guy who wrote the terrible review on her. I'm a community leader , an NAACP Award winner and will be checking in to Redcross reguarding Mr Ken on how he's making these young ladies look. He just sat there like nothing was going, that's a coward man. What if that man had attacked Shavonn and Brittany over a beer , cause it could've went there. People need to stop bashing restraunts when it comes to things like this,men that are drunk don't know better and will attack. To start off my review the atmosphere was friendly but the restaurant was fairly cold. The live music was nice but so loud to the point that me and my friends could not converse without shouting and at the mat point everyone should hear us so we were silent almost the whole meal. The bar is well stocked and the staff is helpful and understanding when we wanted to modify an order we already placed. The bathrooms were . The fries were stale and the burgers were good. We asked for bacon on the side and we got bacon on the side as well as on the burger when we told them to put it on the side. We have been here several times and has been ok, food is ok the beer is cold so that's what counts and have ALWAYS been there with my medical alert service dog and sat inside like everyone else. Today 7/8/22 the girl at the front told us that have to sit outside since we have a dog. I told her that it is against ADA guidelines to make us sit outside and I can't be out in the cold, my medical condition makes me very sensitive to cold. She said no you have to sit outside "we have heaters " we decided to give it a try and went to the back patio, since we didn't want to sit on the side of Ventura Blvd to eat our meal. On our walk back there to the parking lot dining I again asked if we could sit inside since she is a service dog. We were told "no our owner doesn't let any dogs even service dog inside, it's a health code violation," we informed her that is a lie and service dogs are NOT a health code violation even offered to show her our medical card. We went out to the patio, The patio is the dirtiest most disgusting eating area I have ever seen. She sat us at a couch with stained seats with who knows what ground into the seats. The carpet had so much food ground into it that the color had changed and we could feel the food under our feet. She sat us near 2 aggressive dogs that kept growling at my service dog trying to distract her from her job of monitoring my health and safety. Since my safety was at risk, with dogs outside growing we chose to leave. On our way out we stopped and mentioned to the hostess the problems we had she said "okay". We went to Blvd Burger down the street. Much better service an ADA accommodations. Sucks being sick, sucks sucks even more being treated like a second rate citizen. read more

I've passed by this place literally hundreds of times and finally found myself inside as a treat from one of my clients after their engagement photos. Normally that info isn't necessary, but i just have to include that to say that this place is definitely a place to bring a friend, a date, a colleague, whatever. Point is, the portions are definitely sharable, and from the things I've tried so far, the food is definitely worth sharing as well. Everything on the menu had me saying to myself either "i gotta try this" or "you gotta try this." So naturally me and a friend came back and to our surprise, they had a live musician jamming to some really creative cover songs. The service was great and the environment was very welcoming. We shared a plate of grilled chicken nachos and thai chicken flatbread. I even ordered a Manhattan without knowing what it was, and i was not prepared nor disappointed. So many delightful and unique things I'll be trying out on their menu in the near future too! Definitely recommend this place to all my local friends and family. read more

We drove from Los Angeles to meet a friend here because the restaurant in Agoura is awesome! However, I did not have the same experience that made me want recommend and visit again. Im not sure if it is because it just opened, but I was absolutely disappointed with the food. The service was great and everyone was smiling and kind, but when I come to a restaurant I come for the food. If the food was great and the service was horrible, I'm still coming back, but if it's the other way around, it brings me here, to Yelp. Where I can hopefully inspire someone to be able to duplicate what is and was produced in Agoura. I don't have a picture from Agoura but I provided one from Camarillo. There is absolutely no brisket on the burger. I felt as if they didn't have enough brisket made and they were doing their best to make it last as long as possible. I will return in a few months and give it another go, only because of the burger I had at the Agoura location. It had nice helping of brisket and was a top 10 burger for me. read more

I'd like to give a higher rating, but it's the food that fell. Little short. Customer service was great, even during busy happy hour timeframe, and the restaurant seems to be staffed adequately. The list of craft beers on tap is great, and menu options for food looked creative with good variety. I tried some apps, not bad, but nothing I couldn't get at Chili's or Applebees, really. I ordered the chimichurri steak sandwich. The texture was good, bread held the sandwich, but honestly, it was devoid of any flavor, even with the chimichurri sauce. The food here was so tasty ! My bf brought me here and we loved it. The ambiance is chill and trendy. Was seated very promptly and service was great. The brisket flatbread was great and the burger was even better. I would definitely come again and try new items. The drinks were okay, I tried the strawberry vodka cocktail with a Tajin rim. Whole lot of ice and not strong enough in my opinion. Parking was super easy here, they have tons of outside metered parking. Always they have a outside patio perfect for a sunny outing. After a long week all I wanted was a good strong strawberry basil martini, but what I got was a pre made , weak ass room temperature cocktail. Unfortunately it was a huge let down even after I asked for a shot of vodka on the side , ( and I got a cup Of ice) but still disappointed. But what was yummy , was the nachos and Chimichurri sandwich !! We Loved the fresh jalapeño and cheese sauce that came with the nachos. Came here about a month ago and was very disappointed.... And then I came here on Dec 11 because I heard Free Love Project 805 was playing...and it was awesome. We came for dinner at 4 and stayed for the entire show. The top corner of the bar was turned into a stage for amazing musicians to crank out sweet reggae. I can't think of a better area/stage/bar in Camarillo to host music. More. More more. Twisted Oak could become THE place for music, food and brew if they keep this going. read more

Extremely friendly and attentive service is offset by very variable quality in the food. I loved the boldness of putting a PB&J hamburger on the menu, for instance, but when paired with tasteless jam, cold and stringy bacon, stale and chewy potato chips as another burger layer, and a dry and grainy patty (even medium rare!) it just didn't work. Their purported tripel was bitter and telegraphed as an IPA. You wouldn't confuse that with a Chimay. Yet their buffalo cauliflower was *superb*, with giant and luscious florets, crunchy breading, and a buffalo sauce that was absolute perfection. The side salad for the hamburger practically stole the show, eclipsing the burger with fresh crunchy leaves and a delightful tangy vinaigrette. Our waitress was exceptionally cheerful and welcoming during the meal, though it did take a minute to flag someone down to take my card at the end of the meal. read more

We decided to have dessert because my daughters wanted to give this place 10 stars but first we needed to round out the meal with dessert. This used to be my favorite bar and brewery before Finney's came to town. The food was really good and I love the Buffalo cauliflower, sometimes ordering two appetizers of it for myself. The burgers are pretty good. Service can be slow at times, but overall was decent. What really sunk it for me was the past couple times being turned away at the door, either for not having enough servers present or being too busy. I wasn't even given a wait time or the option to go sit at the bar with my wife. We came here the last three years for our anniversary and this year we turned away. Energy like that sticks with you. I do wish they had more parking but overall I think it's just a poor spot for twisted oak to be. If they had the space they would've filled it like Finney's did. read more

This is a great neighborhood tavern that we actually drive from Thousand Oaks to get to (we used to go to the Agoura location before it closed). Always a top-notch local beer selection and friendly staff and bartenders. Lots of bar and table seating in a quaint historical building built in the early 1900s, as well as 2 outdoor patios. The food is pretty consistently impressive (had some hiccups in the past but they've really stepped it up) with high-quality ingredients, hearty portions, and nice plating. Some of our faves include Waldorf salad, miso salmon, carnitas nachos, chimichuri steak sandwich, Thai chicken Flatbread, and Buffalo cauliflower. Great for date night, family, or big groups. Live music some weekends. Happy to give this place 5 stars and hoping more people discover it so it sticks around! read more
