Just a slice of the Perfect Pepperoni
    Christine B.

We find this to be a pretty solid neighborhood pizza joint. It's not at all a fancy place and a lot of folks seem to take their orders to go. Since we don't live close we tend to eat there. They could do better in keeping the dining room cleaned up though. We split a Perfect Pepperoni Pizza: pepperoni, mozzarella, fresh basil and garlic. They're generous with all of the toppings and I like the crust. My husband says it reheats really well the next day if you crisp the slices in a pan. Twisted Pies is definitely a spot on our pizza rotation when we're in the mood.

    Lemon drop....

I went to the Douglasville, GA location on my BIRTHDAY! First of all the staff was wonderful! This was January and of course a football game was on. The bar staff was wonderful, friendly and veryyyyy busy. I ordered wings & fries. The lemon Drops were fantastic!! **The TO-GO pizzas were flying out the door like crazy!

    The Perfect Pepperoni Pizza

This is by far the best New York Pizza in the Phoenix area. 10 Stars! The wings are great too!

The pepperoni pizza has too much cheese. It's rubbery. It probably would taste better well done but I would definitely come give this place a second chance. It wasn't too bad but as a first impression, 100% yes. This Parmesan cheese has mold in the shaker and they gave me a coupon in return.

Sweet and Spicy - with honey on the side

Now THIS is how a good "mom and pop shop" pizza should be!! We were QUITE impressed with the excellent quality ingredients on these pizzas! Thick fresh chewy mozzarella! The staff were awesome too. We visited on a Monday afternoon and were told their Monday special was BOGO free. Bonus! We got the Sweet and Spicy pizza that had the sweet and spicy honey drizzle. Yummy! But we got it on the side so we could adjust to our liking. We will absolutely go back, and you should too!

Boy did I find it…read more There are a few Vito's in the Phoenix area, and all had great reviews and photos that made my mouth water. Ultimately I chose the Mesa store because it was the original and I wanted to see Mesa. We started with a basic garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was great. The calamari was tempting but we'll save that for next time. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I ordered the usual Chicken Parmesan which came with a side of pasta. It was actually a harder choice than usual because I walked thru the restaurant before I ordered and so many dishes looked good, as did the pizza. But I went with the usual. Let's start with the wife, which truly speaks to the five stars because she frankly doesn't love Italian food. She eats it when I beg. And she loved it. She actually proactively mentioned she wanted to go back. That's like 7 stars right there it's so abnormal. I agree with her. The chicken parm was fantastic. Amazing. To top it off, our server was great and when I mentioned we were new to the area and it was our first trip she was so nice telling us the history of the original and the other stores, and the manager later stopped by to continue that conversation as the server told her we were new. I mentioned that I live closer to the Scottsdale store, and she said it's the same food and I'll like it just as much. I'll have a hard time deciding which shop to return to - it might be worth the drive to the original just for the ambiance, but I'll give the other a try soon because it was just that good! 5 stars. Or 7 if you ask my wife.

I ended up swapping the…read morebreaded chicken that normally comes with the meal for grilled chicken to avoid the oils from frying. I also subbed the sunrise sauce in and it was so delicious. My only complaint was the portion size for the price. Normally I would get to chicken pieces and have leftover chicken. I remember normally going in and being able to split this dish with my husband, but this time it came with one piece of chicken. This was a little disappointed for the price point and hoping to get more protein. The other really annoying part when dining at Vito's is parking. I circled around twice including the parking lot by the car wash and State Farm and called Vito's asking for advice where to park and was told Walgreens across the street due to a big party they were having in the basement. Lastly, Vito's has a happy hour menu, the discount used to be better in the past so lately I haven't ordered from it. However, the frustrating part is in the summer the only way to benefit from them is to sit outside on the patio. I wish they allowed for seating for happy hour specials during hot summer months to be inside as well.

The drinks are limited if you don't like sweet drinks so I paid full price for a cocktail off the list. The waitress did change it but a customer shouldn't have to tell you the price is incorrect. The service was good. She checked on us frequently. The food, decor, and ambiance are fantastic. My family and I ate at L'Amore 2 nights in a row, and had we discovered it earlier in our vacation, we would have gone every single night (not kidding). While we've had equally delicious meals at other restaurants (all over the world), we have NEVER experienced such friendly, accommodating and welcoming service as what we received at L'Amore. I said to my husband "this must be what it feels like to be a member of a private club", and he agreed. We have an adult son with autism who will only eat a few dishes at restaurants. I called several restaurants to see if they serve chicken tenders and french fries; ALL of the restaurants we called said no-- until I called L'Amore. When I explained our situation, I was connected to the kitchen, explained our situation, and the chef immediately asked his staff if they had any potatoes to make french fries. (French fries are not on the menu). They said yes, and the chef said they'd be happy to make french fries for our son. When we arrived at L'Amore that evening, the owner/manager came by our table to welcome us. Our server, Sal, could not have been nicer, and addressed our son by his first name all evening. His co-manager assisted our son in accessing his iPad via their WiFi. When we returned the second night, the young male concierge welcomed us by name (even though we hadn't told him our name yet), and both managers visited our table that night. Sal was helpful in navigating the menu, recommended a wine by the glass that is typically only served as a bottle, and was incredibly kind and attentive all evening, without ever being intrusive. My husband and I were so moved by the kindnesses shown to our family. We'll never forget it, and look forward to returning to L'Amore on future vacations. Thank you, L'Amore for rekindling my faith in humanity.
