Yum! Yum! Yum! Don't live in the area and we knew we were getting into town later than we wanted to so we decided to order pizza. As I searched yelp I can across Twisted Pies and saw they had great reviews. I started perusing the menu and saw multiple pizzas with Calabrese which you don't find very often. I knew we needed to order so I called. Got a very fun message that directed me to the website to place my order. I ordered the Shirley which had all kinds of meats to include the Calabrese and Pepperoncinis. Let me say that is one of the best pizzas we have ever had and we have our pizza oven in the back yard. Dough was thin but still airy and fluffy with great char. As I continued perusing the menu I came across the pizza of the month - Gyro I need. Double yum, yum! Again the great crust, gyro meat, thinly sliced tomato with tzatziki on the side. So fresh and flavors exploding in your mouth. If your looking for amazing pizza, I highly recommend this place. A small store with great service and food. The daily specials offer good value as well. The twisted muffins have a great dough to filling ratio, and I'd definitely recommend them. They're chewy and fluffy and worked as a great appetizer. The wings were good as well but not outstanding. Nothing too remarkable but I did enjoy them. The pizza had a good dough and sauce. My son and I planned on going to the Little Mesa Cafe for dinner and did not realize it closes early on Sunday. There was a pizza place in the same strip mall area, so we walked over to try it. I'm glad we did. It was excellent, good crust, lots of cheese and nice medium spicy sauce. We devoured it (before I thought to take a photo). We are getting to the employees knowing our regular order, which tells you that we go here frequently. We don't necessarily live close to Twisted Pies (probably 20 minutes), but happy to make the drive even though there are several other popular pizza places closer to our house. I found Twisted Pies from an Arizona Asian Facebook page, and since my wife's favorite food is pizza, we were, of course, destined to find this location. I believe we started going when the new owners took over, and at the time, it was usually pretty quiet inside. Since then, each time we visit, it is busier and busier because their pizza is solid, and their customer service is great too. We order the same thing (+/- chicken wings) each time we go in, the pizza muffins and then a large Perfect Peppironi. The muffins are delicious, especially with the marinara sauce they provide. What we like is to take home the leftovers and heat them up the next day for lunch. In my opinion, reheating the pizza the next day gives the crust a little extra crispiness which is nice too. In terms of rankings in the area, I put it up there. I personally think it's the best all-around pizza in the area. We tried all the popular spots in the East Valley and PHX, and in the East Valley, it's very solid. Good sauce and a good crust. It's easy to park in front, and I don't think the lot is ever half full. As it's gotten busier inside, getting a booth or table can be a small wait. All the employees are super friendly, and the owners are very appreciative of your business. We are happy we found Twisted Pies when we did, and probably going to get it again this weekend! read more

It's just unfortunate that they charge $22 for 12 wings?! that's more expensive than any wing joint you will find. Way too expensive IMO. We added pepperoni to the pizza and split the wings with medium and hot wing sauce. They bake the wings too (!!!) and OMG are they good! Juicy and very flavorful, with a lot of meat on the bone too! The pizza was the perfect ratio of spices and sauce. Not overbearing and each bite was crispy. Little to no grease on the pizza and didn't make you feel slumped over after eating. This mom and pop shop I found out by following Saturday faturday and by the reels I knew I had to try. In a old Plaza deep in Mesa. Once I walked in it was very busy on a Saturday evening. The cashier was kind of new but she was still friendly. Now on to the pizza. Muffins. Bomb. Pepperoni and jalapeño. Dip it in the house made sauce, I almost finished it before my destination. Perfect pepperoni was really good. Dough was crispy. Holds up nicely. Just wanted a bit more sauce but overall a very good product. We found this pizza place on Yelp while looking for a new spot to try. We are glad we did!! The place is tucked back in a strip mall and doesn't have much in the way of signage but if you live anywhere near it be sure to swing by. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Apparently, it is under new ownership and has been for a little while now. We got a large godfather, garlic knots, and a house salad. Everything we ordered was excellent and certainly scratched our pizza itch. We enjoyed it very much and will certainly be back again. Honestly i went to this fine establishment, whilst getting my vehicle serviced. Its a casual, but very classy pizzeria. The prices are a little steep, but not too steep for very authentic pizza. I mean the pizza is delicious, the customer service is great. And especially for being only 1-2 people working during my visit. Two stars because the gentleman was polite. The pizza itself is just nasty, they put jarred garlic all over it. The type where you can taste the preservatives and that ruined an already unpleasant attempt at a pie. The sauce is bland at best, even weird. I would say over cooked but doesn't have garlic or basil, just nasty. The wings are the fatty type, where you taste skin only. Not even going to bother with the rest. I typically order sals gilbert or spinatos or basilles. This was bad. I'm sorry I tried a new place, will not happen again. They clearly have no passion for what they're doing, but tbh in that part of town, people probably don't care. The pizza was delivered but left outside away from the door without knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell. When I noticed it way off on the side it was completely cold. The crust was also doey. I would rather have a frozen pizza over this slop. On top of the cost of $50 for pizza they charged an additional service fee that was on top of delivery charge.
