Service was nice. The burger was good not amazing but pretty good. Not a fan of the surprise random charge on my bill. When I asked i was told it was the processing fee for the credit card. That seems pretty lame. Also they charged 9.8% tax. Not a big deal but that's not our tax rate and combined with the credit card fee I do not plan on coming back. Credit card fees are the cost of doing business and at $17 for hamburger and $8+ for a beer it's easily covered. read more

Two Doors is a very interesting bar and restaurant that is worth trying out. My wife and I tried their cheeseburger dish. The burger and fries were well prepared and tasted great. Be warned though that the burger gets a bit messy while you consume it. The dining area is on the smaller side; however, there is ample room at the bar to dine. $15 to $18 burgers are a sign of the times, even in little towns like Scott's Valley... "Two Doors" is the latest expansion from Jiatella's, the Cambodian restaurant two doors down. They poked nice holes in the walls that connect Jiatella's, Next door (full bar), and now Two Doors. They did a nice job joining the three places into one and kept the tradition of above average prices... I finally got a chance to give them a try tonight and I have to say, they did a great job. They were packed on a Thursday night, our little town needed a good pub grub place since hophead tanked... Growing pains are obvious as our order took an hour to get to the table and the staff was a bit green but all in all a good experience. We started with the fried pickle chips served with chipotle aioli. They could have been fried a bit longer to get more crisp but there wasn't a single one left in the basket. I had the Chupacavra burger, guacamole, pepper jack cheese, caramelized jalapenos, and chipotle aioli on a good sized burger served on a fresh brioche bun. You get a choice of fries, sweet potatoe fries, or my choice onion rings with your burger. Again I would have liked the rings a bit crisper but the burger was awesome. A messy but delicious creation. My wife had the "Star Wars" sandwich. Basically a BLT with spread. She opted for the sweet potatoe fries with hers. From the side it looked like a nice fat sandwich so I looked inside and it was a tall stack of lettuce that made it look big. The bacon looked really good but I didn't try this one, she said it was really good... The selection of draught beers was pretty impressive but no local offerings is kind of a bummer with the killer micro brew scene we have in Santa Cruz. The full bar selection from "next door" is also available... The bicycle theme is evident in the decor with what feels like a sponsorship from local companies like Fox and Bell. Ample bike parking including a pump and tools is available out front. This was only my first trip and I'm sure I will be back, you should give them a try as well. read more

Best option in Scott's Valley for American style food! This is now our go to. Food is constantly good. Salads, burgers, sandwiches and pizza are all solid. The only down side is that the seating is minimal and you usually end up outside with is great when the weather is nice. Also, the beer options are limited so we will often get the food to go and walk over to the local brewery for drinks. read more

I wanted to like this place but overall I was not impressed. Had not been to this location since Hophead closed and had high hopes for a new discovery in town. I ordered 3 items to go from their small bites menu. Fried cod - fish and chips... 3 pieces of fish ,on top of a big pile of skinny fries , tarter sauce. Decent tasting, but my wife said it tasted like it was poured out of a frozen bag into the cooker. They claim to use fresh ingredients... Then I also ordered coconut prawns which really were only ok, not at all excited by these. Finally I had the humus and dolma plate. The humus and pita bread was actually pretty good but the dolmas were the least delicious I've ever had. Small and no flavor, I ate one and threw the rest into my compost pile. Also they were presented in a sloppy condition. Oh did I mention that they came with carrot and celery sticks ? Wow ! All of this cost me just under $44.00. Pricey and very mediocre food. Maybe the burgers are good, as evidenced by the generally favorable reviews for them here. Regardless, I'm not in a hurry to go back and find out. Very disappointing experience overall. read more

This place has great food and pretty good cocktails. There is a full bar.. So you can get what you want. I love that you can order from the Cambodian restaurant next door (Jia Tellas).. I got fried pickles and it comes with amazing Chipotle ranch! Also the choke bowl.. Which is artichoke and cheese dip with toasted bread... Sooo delicious . Burgers were a BBQw/ fried onion strings and A jalapeño Chipotle ranch one... Wow! Both were awesome and juicy and perfectly cooked.. I got the clam chowder for the side and the other got fries... As a follow up to my last review, I have to finally give up on this place. My wife has staunchly disliked Two Doors after our first few experiences but I continued to push to go in every month or two. I usually left somewhat disappointed but every time I went back I hoped it would have turned around and turned into what I wanted it to be: a fun, friendly, and tasty place to relax, grab a bite and and a beer. Frankly, it's not that and doesn't look like it ever will be. What is it? An overpriced themed restaurant with staff that doesn't seem to care much about their jobs. The final straw? The last three times I've gone in they've messed up my order. I always order the same thing: a Chupacabra with the veggie patty. Once they brought me wrong side (no biggie) but then they put a meat patty on instead of the veggie patty. Last weekend they just plain brought the wrong order and had already given mine to someone else. I've previously said that I'm willing to pay $16 for a good burger, which I still am. However, good food should have accompanying good service, or at least half decent. Sorry Two Doors, but not once have I had passable service. Best of luck read more

We were in town for a wedding and our hotel recommended this place for lunch. We loved the VIBE and the food was even better! The barbecue burger was a generous size, perfectly cooked, and was so good my husband finished it. I had an outstanding BLT. Homemade onion rings were top notch. Although patio dining was available, we chose to eat at a pub table inside by the open garage door, best of both worlds. Delicious food, friendly staff, and wonderful local color! read more

Yum! We're vegetarian, so get the Beyond burger patty which are delicious! Plus their fries are crispy. That's all we've eaten here, so far, because we're vegetarian and there's not much else to choose from. What makes this place great is the outdoor seating. I really hope they keep it. There's darts inside, but can't be used at this time. The music piped outside is usually good old fashion rock which is perfect, except the last time we went they were playing nightclub electronica crap in the early afternoon. There are lots of sports bars out there, but what separates this one are two things: 1) the food is varied, fresh, delicious and inexpensive. The sliders and salads are first-rate and the 'master-tater' is comfort food supreme. 2) The service is phenomenal. Started out great! The bartender came up right away and was really attentive! But once we initially ordered our drinks and food, he never once checked in again for an hour! Had to waive him down to get a refill on my beer, which was empty for a while. Then, had to waive him down again (I'm talking full arm waive) to ask about our food, which had taken 40 minutes already; his reaction, "It's been 40 minutes!?" His response says a lot; He didn't pay attention enough to even notice! And even after the late food and his profuse apologies, he never returned to check on us. Had to finally waive him down again to close out! We planned to stay later, but I was done! We recently moved just down the street and wanted to make this our local spot; but now not so sure.
