This was my first time visiting here and I came with my friend. As soon as we walked in the cashier informed us that we could not go into dining area without ordering and paying first. I give the Food and it's taste 5 stars but the service was 3 stars. Being that this was my first time I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the fried lobster tail with fries. My friend got the seafood boil and hers came within 10 minutes. I had to wait nearly 45 minutes for a lobster tail and a small small portion of fries. The guy who was delivering orders to tables kept saying they were working on my order but I would literally see folks who came in after me and ordered fried items also get their first. I genuinely feel like they forgot. When my food finally came my friend was almost done with her food. I was disappointed with serving size of the fries I received because it was soo small. He saw what I was given as well as let me know he would bring out more. That too another almost 30 minutes but he let me know it was coming out. He was very nice about it I will say. I will update my review after going back and trying the boil . Everyone else I know who experience this place has great reviews so I was surprised by mine.

The food was average to me but I gave 4 stars because the service was top notch. David did a great job moving around the room making sure everyone was good, especially being the only server. They offer bottled Pepsi products. I had the lb of snow crabs which included 2 potato's and 2 corn. It's extra for extra (of course) and extra for eggs. They charge for gloves but not the bibs. One of the claws I had smelled a bit fishy. More than what I'm use to for crab legs, same for my friend. I like the jerk flavor. I asked for spicy but it wasn't that spicy. I tried my friends chi-the-3 way it was SALTY. I also tried their gumbo. It was edible but nothing to rave about. It was like it was missing a flavor that is usually in gumbo.

A black owned restaurant on the southside of Chicago. When you enter they have a big chalkboard showing the menu items. You place your order at the counter and either have a seat to wait for carryout or get a number and seat yourself in the dining area. The tables are lined with white paper for easy cleanup if you're having a seafood boil and large red buckets for you to discard your scraps as you're eating. They didn't seem to have a lot of staff but the staff they did have were attentive and friendly. I opted for the shrimp dinner. I didn't like the way the better easily came off the shrimp. They could have been a little more seasoned, and there could have been a larger serving of the french fries that came with the dinner. I'm not sure I would go back but I encourage people to give them a try because they are known for the seafood boil, which I did not try here, but have had from similar places and I don't prefer it. So if seafood boils are your thing, give Two Fish a try.

Gumbo was alright. The ingredients were fresh, but the taste was bland. Needed more seasoning. It was just an okay meal. Nothing special.

Service-Great! It was one server for the large dinning area and he was attentive and adapted well to the situation. We were seated outside & the rain began to fall the staff quickly moved everyone inside and the server maintained his composure and assited guest timely. Great job!! Food-fresh, hot, flavorful and overall good. I would definitely return. Ambiance-upbeat. Friendly, had a family kind of feel to the dinning area. I can appreciate that this is a BYOB (Wine) establishment. The Live band was amazing as well.

Ordered via UberEats because I was craving fried oysters. I also wanted a seafood platter, but everything here is a La carte. So I ended up ordering a fried oysters plate with fries, a fried shrimp plate, and a fried catfish plate all served with fries. Because I ordered catfish I asked in the comments if they can add tartar sauce to my order but I didn't receive any, so I assume they don't offer tartar. I also ordered cocktail sauce with all 3 plates, but received a cocktail sauce, hot sauce, and bbq sauce. The hot sauce was actually tasty, so I'm not upset that I received it. The fried seafood was all tasty, for around $16 for each plate it was filling. The catfish didn't taste frozen or like the cheap swai, it was surprisingly good as a Southerner. The batter wasn't overpowering or too floury. I definitely want to come to the restaurant to dine in and explore more of the menu.

I tried coming once before, but they had just closed for renovations so I almost didn't return at all. I had a change of heart and decided to check this place out. The place is spacious and was more than half full when we arrived. They sat us down and it took a while before we were able to place our order. We decided to share their Seafood special which came with half pound of crab legs, half pound of shrimp and we added potatoes, corn and andouille sausage. We also ordered it 3 the Chi Way and hot. Our server mentioned that the bags were small and only good enough for one person. We still went ahead and just ordered our one bag. Once we received our food, our server just placed it on the table and walked away. The food was really delicious and the seasoning was so addicting to eat. We honestly got full with our one order and noticed everyone else payed double and everyone was taking their left overs home. When it came time to pay, our server took our credit card and gave me the machine to put in the tip. Afterwards she gave me my card back with no smile or a thank you or a have a nice day. Afterwards I kind of regretted even giving a tip. Might just have to stay on the North Side to receive better service.

Back again for an update on my last review that was pre-pandemic. They have expanded their restaurant for more seating and wider waiting area where you can also pick up for take out so that's exciting. My friend and I came in on a Tuesday around 330 and the wait was about 5mins, which you can't beat! My recommendation for large groups is to try the waitlist before you get there. Our service was just ok. They have a special for 1/2 lb snow crab and shrimp that I got for $18.99 (A great deal!!). I always get 3 the chi way and start mild and build up the heat if I need to. The flavor was decent, not as good as I remembered but will def be back if I'm craving and in the areas. Was surprised to see that gloves now cost $.50. Overall still a great spot for seafood. Will try their fried seafood next visit.

They were out of pancakes, but we tried the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles, strawberry cream French toast, biscuits and gravy, beignets, and a brisket egg pie. The biscuits and gravy had a lot going on flavor wise, and I did not try them with the pimento cheese, but everything else was a hit. The only area for improvement I noticed was during table cleaning. Staff were spraying cleaning chemicals near customers' food, and food was brought to the table immediately after handling the cleaning products. We both ordered the 1/2 fried chicken (he ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the Llewellyn fried chicken), specifically requesting all dark meat. Round 1: The chicken arrived as all white meat. We sent it back. Round 2: My boyfriend's plate was corrected, but mine came out with two thighs and two wings. Ready to eat at this point, I just sent the wings back. Round 3: They finally brought out the correct drumsticks. The excuse given by our waiter was that someone in the kitchen couldn't read English, causing a language barrier. I'll leave it to others to decide how they feel about that as an excuse. But what I will say is that a language barrier in the kitchen is a management problem, not a customer problem, and it should never result in a guest sending their plate back twice. While mistakes happen, the food itself was a letdown once we finally ate. My boyfriend's cheddar waffle was completely uncooked and raw in the center, and both the waffle and his fried chicken thighs had a strange, off-taste to them. What really ruined the experience, though, was the lack of management. The manager was actively walking around the dining room the entire time but never once stopped by our table to apologize for the multiple mix-ups or the raw food. For the price point, the service and quality control here need serious work. I'll stick to the Miami location.

The ambiance wasn't quite what I expected, but the service and food made up for it. I ordered the Caribbean stuffed turkey leg, which came with pasta, spinach, a couple of jumbo shrimp, and a turkey drumstick. The dish was flavorful and satisfying overall. My only criticisms were that the spinach was chopped so finely that it was hard to really taste it, and the turkey drumstick seemed smaller than expected. I was hoping for a meatier drumstick, but most of the meat was concentrated toward the bottom of the bone. For dessert, I had a slice of carrot cake, and it was excellent. I would have loved for it to be served warm, but it was still moist, flavorful, and a great way to end the meal. I also tried the fried pound cake, and unfortunately, it was a miss for me. So much that I followed up with some Mac and sweet potatoes. Ha! The Mac was cheesy and kinda creamy. Great texture. The sweet potatoes were different with the pineapples. The pineapples gave a little twist, but still delivering your childhood memory of sweet potatoes that grandma used to make. Desserts are limited; cheesecake or brownie. The cheesecake was my least favorite thing. I either want peach cobbler or cheesecake; not them being married. Ha! I was happy and pleased with how clean the inside was and how organized it was as well. I like an open kitchen concept. I'll definitely be returning when in Chicago. My advice is to place your order online. Keith Lee approved and so do I!

I wouldn't recommend anybody go here. When I say this place was packed with disorganization, I mean…read moreit was a literal mess. None of the tables were cleaned or organized properly, there were random boxes stacked everywhere, and the TV was broken. To make the atmosphere worse, they had loud music blasting through a blown-out subwoofer, so it just sounded like constant static the entire time. On top of that, the bathrooms were completely closed--you literally couldn't even use the restroom. The staff were totally inattentive, and the food was way too salty and vastly overpriced for what you get. It was a chaotic, frustrating, and incredibly forgetful experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I order the southern fried catfish with cheese grits and home fries, plus a side of Cajun white wine & cream sauce. My date ordered the crab cakes with collard greens and home fries. We also added on a buttermilk pancake to share. Everything was so good! The catfish was perfectly crispy and well seasoned. I also really enjoyed the home fries. Overall 5/5. Can't wait to return the next time I'm in town.

Absolutely a must visit in Chicago for Cajun flavors!…read more We booked a reservation for a Friday breakfast. I recommend booking a reservation because although it was pretty empty when we got there it was full with a wait by the time we left. We came in & we were promptly seated. There's a counter for takeout orders and both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a wide open space where there's tables and seating along the wall. For drinks we ordered the uncles breakfast and the hurricane. Absolutely recommend the uncles breakfast it was amazing! For food we ordered the spicy shrimp & grits, chicken andouille hash, and southern fried catfish. Everything was absolutely amazing! Great flavor & portion size and came out fast. Only critique would be too much onion in chicken andouille hash. The service was great! From the host seating to our waitress to those bringing us the food everyone was friendly, fast, and efficient. The combo of tasty food, good portion size, and great staff in a time when a lot of restaurants are struggling with one of the 3 makes this place a gem. We'll definitely be back!
