my wife and I have following this location for a while and have been waiting for the opening. We were unable to attend the first night of culinary delights so we went the second night. We went through the menu in order. Edemame was first, good, though it was as good as most places serving it. Then we ordered two "small plates" one was the grilled peppers and JFP. I do not like peppers but these were good. I cannot handle hot stuff but these are mild and not hot. Disclaimer! 1out of 10 are very hot. The chicken was out of this world!! the most tender nuggets I've had, and a source cream and on in dip that was strangely good with it. NEXT! We ordered 2 skewers, and my wife got the chicken tails (huh?) and I ordered the Pork Belly Mmmm pork. Both small but very flavorful and tender. On to the last course! Pork Ramen.......*drool* we split the bowl, they brought another bowl for my wife and like Greg Lougainis we dove into this flavor bowl. We polished this off with a puff of fullness. We are not "large quantity eaters" but we were able to eat all this comfortably. They fulfilled ever facet of a restaurant. We will be back in force. Good food sadly George the "Chef de Cuisine" has zero tact or any people skills. Ask to help accommodate a large group, rather than offer options such as earlier or later time, alternative date, any other options, simply said "sorry can't help, think of us in the future". We have been eating here every time we are in town, 5 years in a row, never again. Thanks to George we will be trying some new restaurants. read more

Stopped by this gem after a nice yoga sesh and couldn't have been more satisfied. A buddy of mine and I were intrigued by the new space and blown away as soon as we walked in. It's definitely got the tavern feel with some of the best Japanese cuisine I have had in a while, if not the best in the area. We are both vegan/vegetarian as well and the menu accommodated nicely. The staff was interactive, knowledgable, and on point with their service. We started off with some miso soup (wow) and had a small plate of the tofu (again, wow) and we both ordered the vegetarian ramen which I can still taste hours later. The house Sake was a nice finishing touch to a solid meal. I will definitely be making my way back to this joint many a times. Stoked to see such an authentic atmosphere in the Chattanooga area. Not sure why this place doesn't have more 5 star reviews, but I will definitely give 5 stars over and over again. Being that I'm a new implant in the city of Chattanooga, I appreciate places like this one. Two Ten Jack is the closest restaurant to those of bigger cities such as NYC, LA and Miami. The ambiance (specially their old school hip hop music mix), food and drinks set them apart from the rest. Located in Warehouse Row, it gives you feel of being in NYC and discovering a hidden gem located in a basement-type setting. I've been here 3 times already and don't get tired. My favorite dishes (hard to pick only a few) are the Brussel sprouts (you MUST try this), the friend chicken (forgot the name, but it comes with an addicting sour cream based dipping sauce), garlic noodles and the tuna. Their bartender, Gabriel is not only knowledgable but also a great person. There is another bartender (I hate that I can't remember his name, but he has a long beard) is also on point with his drinks and is also very pleasant to be around. My experience here was not very pleasant. I'm from Atlanta and was passing through visiting my mom when I stopped here. Overall the vibe is cute, I came during lunch hour before heading back home to Atlanta.. the service however was horrible. I sat at the bar by myself and ordered my food within 5 minutes of sitting, it did not appear to be very busy but I didn't receive my food for over 30 minutes. I ordered the free check in edamame and ramen. I finally got them both at the same time. Mind you the server never came back to refill my water or ask how the food was after making me wait that long, yet she kept tending to the other two tables but not me...I only finished about 1/4th of the ramen when I realized I was full. I ask for a to-go box and she tells me they can not let me take it to go.. she never mentioned this when I first ordered it. So not only was her service horrible I also couldn't take my $15 bowl of ramen to go with me.. you should probably let people know that AHEAD of time. I've been to a lot of ramen bars in Atlanta and never once heard of such a thing. read more

My husband & i were craving for a good ramen & we found this place thru yelp. The place is very nice. I checked in thru yelp so we got a free edamame & it was good. I had tonkotsu ramen & my hubby had the tori paitan shoyu ramen & we also ordered the all sunny maki (smoked salmon rolls). Both of our ramen were salty. I didnt finish mine coz it tasted way too salty as i kept on eating. The rolls were also salty. I think it was the sauce on top that made it salty. The main reason I'm rating so low because it was absolutely freezing inside of the restaurant--we wore coats and scarves the whole meal. We had to ask for hot towels halfway through the meal and the food all took a very long time to come out. The food was good, but I have had better. It's nothing I would come back for. My wife and I visited Chattanooga and wanted to try this place for a date night. Arrived a little after 5pm and joined the group of people waiting at the host stand. No host in sight. No waiter or manager came to greet the crowd of people wanting to spend money here. Caleb, the host eventually walks in, "Oh sorry I was getting coffee" for coworkers. No sense of urgency to greet and seat customer at all. People with reservations waiting. Eventually we are seated but no waiter greets us for 10+ minutes. We get up and leave. I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The lunch bar Server was not a people person hat so ever and I wasn't happy that I had no choice but to have her poor attitude to tolerate. I went with 5 other people, and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. The highlights were the clams and crispy brussel sprouts, We ordered steamed rice and used it to soak up the remainder of the sauce from the clams -- best idea ever. The sushi options are limited and wasn't as good. I also tried the ramen with pork, which was good, not great. It's not the traditional ramen I've gotten from other places. Less toppings and they use chicken broth so not as rich. The black garlic they added made up for a lot of it though. read more

First time here for dinner. Great service. Against policy to provide separate check, but the waitress was willing to work with us since we didn't know. But the atmosphere is lacking. It's dark in the main restaurant since it's below street level. (No natural light.) Since there was to be a group of 13 of us. We were seated in an area that is outside the main dining area- with very little separating it from the common area of the building, what would be a banquet room or meeting room at other places. It was much brighter than inside. (When a few of us went to lunch here and were seated in the main dining room we pulled out our phones and read the menu by flashlight.) Hard to know what to order, as most of the menu just gives the Japanese name if the dish then the type of protein (chicken , pork, etc.) and then a bunch of other Japanese words I had no idea what they meant. The waitress went over everything but it was all too fast. If you try to think about the item she just described, you miss whatever is next. And by the time she got to the end of her explanation I forgot what she said at the beginning. The sushi was good ... not incredibly better than what I buy at the grocery store, but the more to choose from and more unique combinations. I ordered the Always Sunny Maki. I liked the crunch from bread and butter pickles and the crispy salmon skin. I also tried the garlic noodles and found them disappointing. When I saw garlic in the name, I assumed garlic would be front and center. Don't quite know how to define the flavor, but garlic was wasn't prevalent at all, and the overall taste was muddled. I only had the chance to eat at one place in Chat town and am glad this was it. I've had proper ramen a couple times and didn't understand what the big deal was until I ate here. Got the crispy Brussels and vegetarian ramen. Both really delicious! I'd go there solely for either dish. The edemame was pretty good too. Lovely atmosphere, nice staff, expeditious service. The brussel sprouts and pork ramen were great! Yes, the broth is oily. This is due to the broth being made from bones. It makes it even more delicious. We also had a strawberry hibiscus margarita, which was ok, and a mule. My husband said the mule was not very strong at all. We finished with the mochi. I would give a 5 star but I disagree with the way they serve the water. Water sits in a bottle on table for you to refill on your own throughout your experience. Good concept but as your ice melts from the first glass you're then drinking room temp water. Yes you can ask for more ice but then what's the point of water on the table? Two Jack Ten gave me this feeling of entering a speakeasy. It took a few minutes to find the restaurant as it is located underground. Once we came in, it is on the lower level of a large warehouse building filled with stores. Edison lights and coral trees illuminated the atmosphere. The food choices paid homage to Japanese fanfare. The server even gave us a customary bow each time she left the table. The garlic noodles were perfectly al dente (Is there a Japanese word for this?) and creamy. The fried rice was a fabulous mixture of sticky rice, ground pork and a soft boiled egg. The crispy Brussels sprouts were as addicting as popcorn. I also enjoyed j.f.c (Japanese Fried Rice, did you catch the pun?!). The tori ramen was warm and inviting for the chilly evening whilst the red snapper nigiri was very fresh. Out of all these fantastic dishes, the only thing I didn't care for was the shiitake skewer was overwhelmed with either oyster or fish sauce, and sesame oil. It is a bit odd that the restaurant does not allow customers to take ramen noodle leftovers home. Otherwise, the place is an A+ in my book for an adventurous night in food. read more

Honestly the worst food I've ever had in a Chattanooga restaurant. I can't fathom how this place has good reviews.. First off, the place had a strange trash/old fish smell as soon as you walk in. I regrettably decided to give it a chance because of the good reviews. Next, they have no drinks besides warm water, with no ice, you pour yourself from a big bottle on the table or you can order alcohol. They have no teas, lemonade, sodas, etc. They brought my friends sorry looking ramen out with one little piece of pork and some noodles that looked like they came from the 25 cents packages. He got his ramen 10 minutes before my one sushi roll so I sat there watching him eat. When I got the sushi I was shocked how small the roll was for the price. It was the size of 1/3 a roll of any other sushi place in town! I took one bite and knew it was sour. I told the waitress it was off but she couldn't give me any refund or discount.. I paid 30 dollars for food I took one bite of and my friend barely touched. Screw this overpriced garbage Ive never felt so ripped off! On top of everything we both left feeling sick and needing to rush to the toilet. This was at 6 pm on a weekday when they weren't even busy. read more

When I came, it was early and there weren't many people, so service was ok. The noodle is good, but the soup is too salty and everything else i had that night was also too salty. And the Takoyaki I had was far from the real Takoyaki in a Japanese restaurant, and it's over cooked. The grilled shiitake mushrooms are ok except that it also had too much salt.
