In-n-out has always been the place I usually go when I want a burger, but after eating here, I doubt it'll be my go-to place. They had a larger variety of burgers including bison, elk, and venison which is something I hardly see at burger joints, and if I did, they'd be super expensive! I had the grass fed beef. It was juice and flavorful. My husband got the elk and he was half way through it already once they had set it down in front of him. Ty's burger house is nestled in downtown Oside where there are plenty of other restaurants. It's up mission avenue and I think a nice little spot to grab a bite to eat. There are some great options of burgers like western style, Kobe beef, and even build your own! The prices ranged from $9-12 for my orders the cost ran me $28 and some change, but we also got fries. As far as the food, it took a minute to come out, but that's okay. The burgers made up in flavor and I commend how well it was put together. You've all had a burger so packed with things that it just falls apart? Not here. I was happy with the flavor and quality of ingredients. I thought the pastrami was a litttttle bland, so I asked for some jalapeños on the side and it did the trick. As far as the space there is a lot of room and also a front outside seating and back outside seating that I discovered from just going to the bathroom. Yes, there is one menu on a table by the register but easy enough to find the menu online to peruse before you go. I always appreciate a clean, casual place with a kid's menu. First time trying, wanted to support local business. I ordered the bacon & blue cheese burger, and my bf got western bacon cheese burger. No one asked, so we did not specify doneness for the patties, and both our patties ended up overcooked, dry, and bland. I hope this was just a mistake, as well-done (or in this case, overdone) should not be the default internal temp for a burger. I tried rationalizing that maybe, it was bad because we got it to-go, but we only live 7 mins away so I don't think that was a factor. To top this off, I haven't eaten all day and I'm very hungry, but I can barely even finish this. Bf said he wants to give them another chance and will specifically emphasize to do it "medium rare". First time here. Located on a one way street with no designated parking but street parking available. This establishment has a grade "A". There is indoor and outside dining. It has plenty of natural ventilation from the large windows and back. There is one gender neutral bathroom. Service is VERY friendly with a smile and very attentive. Have been wanting to try forever and was not disappointed. First day of vacation from work, went for a five mile walk from the harbor to the pier then decided to treat myself for lunch. The young man at the counter was super friendly. I ordered the jalapeño burger and onion rings. He complimented me on my order. Got it to go and throughly enjoyed every bite. The burger was juicy and the jalapeños gave it just the right amount of heat. Dipped the onion rings in their ranch with ketchup, YUM. Will be back to try the turkey burger since I typically prefer turkey to regular burgers. Need to take off work more often so I can explore my town. My son and I finally got around to trying out Ty's Burgers. It has so many great reviews so we were expecting a good meal. My son was starving so he got the Ty's 2x4 Burger medium rare, fries and onion rings. I an on Keto and wanted the burger protein style using iceberg lettuce as the bun. Ty's doesn't offer that but puts it on shredded lettuce (who doesn't do lettuce wrap nowdays?). I went with build-your-own and added bacon (3 slices) $3; avocado $2.50; and Haystack onions $2. Cooked medium. We both got sodas. First, let me say the prices shown online have gone up substantially. Our 2 meals cost $45! When our meals came, my sons looked amazing. Mine, on the other hand...well let me describe it. A small "hockey puck" overcooked burger sat on about 1/2cup shredded lettuce. The $2.50 avocado which the owner told me was about half an avocado when I asked, was actually 2 thin tiny slivers. The $3 bacon was missing. The $2 haystack onion straws were less than 1/8 cup, definitely nothing resembling a "stack". My son said it looked like prison camp food. Let me explain he has worked as a server for 25 years including fine dining. He told me to take it back and tell Ty it was unacceptable, which I did. The owners reaction was not what you would expect from a place that depends on positive customer experiences to stay in business. He stared at me, silent for over 30 seconds like he was perplexed and frankly pissed off that someone could bring their food back and ask for a refund. I wish I had taken a photo so you'd see what my plate looked like for a pricetag of $18 - very sad. No apology from the manager; none of the conciliatory remarks just about any restaurant would offer an unhappy customer. No "let me remake this for you and do it right this time." Nothing! Blank stare. He finally said, "Fine!" and walked off, then came back and said he would bring the refund to our table, which he did. Still no apology. We were appalled at his obvious annoyance and even thinly veiled anger. No attempt was made to encourage us to want to return. My son has lots of experience with dining customer service and customers not happy with their food. He was incredulous and angry at the owner's attitude, saying he acted horribly, and said no way would be ever go back there and spend $45. That's what happens, Ty, when you treat customers so shitty - you lose business. And if they happen to be Yelpers you potentially lose more customers. By the way, none of the food is even adequately seasoned; it tasted as if their was no salt on burger, fries, or onion rings. That was my son's observation after tasting his food. This review is for the food and specifically also for the total lack of acceptable customer service by the owner. We definitely do not recommend. Found this place on Yelp while looking for a greasy lunch in Oceanside. Saw the bacon mac and cheese burger and knew that's what I had to have. Place looked a lot bigger on Yelp lol but the ambiance was very laid back. There was private patio seating and many small tables. Some high top, bar like seating too. Noticed there was some draft beer but it was too early to drink haha I eagerly ordered my 1/3 pound bacon mac and cheese burger and my friend ordered the pastrami burger. Made me upset that the burgers didn't come with fries... The mac and cheese was extremely cheesy( I only ate half of it), the bacon was hot and crisp, and the burger was juicy and delicious! The pastrami burger was very meaty, and had a generous amount of greens. French fries were good. What can I say, everything was great about Ty's Burger House from start to gut-busting finish. There are so many other burger places like Ty's in North County, but Ty's excels where other places like Rockin Burgers fail..Atmosphere.. Good classic rock music and helpful staff really made a positive impression on me. For whatever reason, other places in North County skimp on one, or both of those virtues. Ty's is order up front, and they bring food to you. They'll also make sure you doing okay, and clean up your mess. The burgers come in to sizes...regular 1/3 pound, and large at 1/2 pound. Personally, the regular is quite enough especially when paired with fries. I ordered the Bacon and Blue (Applewood Bacon, Blue Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickle and House Sauce). There was of of blue cheese with give it a nice strong taste. It really hit the mark. The Fresh Mixed Berry Salad (with chicken) was a show-stopper as other diners were staring at it like it was a sizzling fajita skillet being walked out to our table.
