Had a great time checking out U-Grill Korean BBQ at their second Rancho Cucamonga spot (they've also got one in Chino). It does get pretty busy, we were a group of 7 so we waited about 25 minutes, but it was worth it. They do take reservations but not sameday. Our server Andrew was awesome -- really friendly and on top of everything. We stuck with the basic Menu A at $29.99 per person and it was plenty good for the price. You can bump it up to Menu B for $38.99 if you want more stuff. We went through so many rounds of meat, especially the Premium brisket, Premium Beef Belly, and that spicy marinated maewoon bulgogi. The banchan was really good too, especially the kimchi, steamed egg, and kimchi soup. Place is clean inside and it's in a strip mall with a bunch of other spots. Parking can be kinda far during busy weekends so just a heads up. Overall solid experience, I'd go back for sure especially for the price, value and especially service. On Friday July 10 , 4:30pm We walked in when the restaurant was completely empty and were never properly greeted. The hostess spoke so quietly that we couldn't hear her so we greeted her politely and said hi. Instead of welcoming us, she gave us an unfriendly look and asked, "how many?" We said two and she told us to wait. We stood at the entrance for about 15-20 minutes waiting to be seated. During that time the hostess remained at the front stand with another employee. They repeatedly stared at us, smiled, giggled to each other, and rolled their eyes while we were still waiting. It made us feel very uncomfortable. We came in expecting friendly service, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy but the experience was unprofessional and unwelcoming. We hope management addresses customer service so future guests are treated with more respect. We ended up leaving without eating because after waiting 15-20 minutes at the entrance and feeling unwelcome, we didn't feel comfortable staying. I am extremely disappointed with the service at U Grill KBBQ. My party and I were seated and waited for over 20 minutes without anyone taking our order. During that time, several employees were standing around talking among themselves, and multiple staff members walked past our table without checking on us or asking if we had been helped. It was obvious that our table had been overlooked, yet no one made an effort to assist us. This level of inattentiveness is unacceptable, especially when customers are waiting to be served. Unfortunately, this experience completely ruined what was supposed to be my birthday dinner. I've never experienced such poor service at a restaurant. I've been going to this location for the convenience, and I try to be very understanding and don't let one offs change my mind, but this location's service has been consistently bad and comes off as low tier. The past three times servers are outside vaping as I walk in, I pray one of them aren't mine, and of course after waiting 5-10 minutes after being seated to get greeted, one of them is my server. This has happened literally each past three visits. Then they're MIA when you really need something and you look around wondering where they are and they were outside in their smoking area. LOL. Always a family favorite, so we decided to come here for Easter lunch (04/04/26), which I'm surprised wasn't busy. Our server, Brooklyn (as well as the other servers) were super helpful with all our orders that we kept putting in. And they delivered. We received exceptional service. A+++ for service. The food is always good, no matter what you order. My favorite is the brisket. As well as thinly sliced beef belly and thinly sliced pork belly cos you rarely see these kinds of meat at other kbbq restaurants. And my dad likes the octopus. I don't like octopus, but he said the texture is good when cooked. It's not too chewy like normal octopus when cooked. It's easy to bite and easy to chew. My only negative is the corn cheese. It's either a hit or miss. This time around, it was not hot in the skillet and became watery and the cheese was not melty so you don't get that cheesy, cheese pull effect. We went here for the first time to celebrate my mom's birthday for dinner and this was the closest with great reviews. We went with the most expensive menu for All You Can Eat. Me and my husband love eating the bulgogi and brisket. We had tried other meats that my sister ordered, but wasn't to our liking. The steamed egg was bland to me. The corn was delicious so I thought my son would love this and he does love to eat corn. This was my son first outing and was so surprised he ate the corn with white rice (which never ate before), and small pieces of bulgogi (he hates meat) with it together. He is so picky and thought he wouldn't eat it, but he did!! They did have a high chair for my 10 month baby. We will definitely come here again during lunch hour since it'll be mostly me and hubby eating it though. Haha The staff were friendly and helpful. The inside looked nice. I hope this feedback helps the business make some much-needed improvements. We typically choose this location because it's closer to us, but recently we've found ourselves driving to the other location near Foothill and the 15 instead. It's not a major inconvenience, but it is an inconvenience--and the main reasons are cleanliness and the smoke. Today was a good example. After waiting to be seated, we were walked back to our booth only to find a significant amount of food all over the seats. We also noticed chopsticks and food scattered on the floor around the table. I asked if someone could wipe down the seats, which they did, and we tried to stay. However, once we sat down and realized we were stepping on food under the table, we decided to leave. It's unfortunate because this seems like such an easy issue to fix. I was honestly surprised that anyone would walk a guest back to a booth in that condition. Even after we pointed out the cleanliness issue, only doing the bare minimum to address it was another disappointment. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and makes the necessary adjustments because I genuinely enjoy the food and would prefer to continue coming to this location. As for the smoke, I realize there may not be much the business can do about it, but unfortunately, it does add another negative to the overall experience. Best of luck to management. Today was our first time at this U-Grill location and we were super impressed! To start, the service was awesome. Our server did a fantastic job and was very accommodating. Great service can really make or break an experience, and this definitely made it! The atmosphere was also really nice. The tables are spread out nicely and the restaurant just feels open. It's very welcoming and clean! Most importantly, the food was great. You really can't go wrong with brisket and glass noodles. We also loved the serving sizes, they were perfect for our small group. Busy day for the amount of staff that was there, starting off with the service, Jaylen was a great server and definitely took good care of us tonight. Hospitality and energy was very positive and felt natural. Even seeing and listening to his conversations with other parties, sounds like others enjoyed having him too. Jaylen constantly checked up on us, refilled our water while attending his entire section. As for the food, the beef belly is really good, prefer it over the beef brisket. Our family was seated at a table with a broken grill at a restaurant that was only half full. What was most frustrating was that no one informed us about the grill's malfunction until after we had already started our meal. Moving to another table would have been a hassle, especially since we had already begun placing our meat on the grill. Fortunately, there were plenty of other empty tables available, so this could have easily been avoided. The service was just okay. Our food arrived before our drinks, and we didn't receive our drinks until we had finished our first order of brisket. If a grill isn't working, the hostess and staff should be aware not to seat guests at that table. They had a good variety of meats, but I only ordered brisket, beef belly, and small intestine since that's all I had room for. The quality was good to decent and everything tasted solid. The place looked nice overall and the dining area felt clean. Restrooms were clean too, just noticed some etched graffiti on the walls and mirrors. Overall it was an okay experience. The meats that they have is always consistently good and I have no issues with the quality of their food. I was so happy once they opened up a location closer to Upland, because the one closer to the 15 fwy was always busy. The prices are amazing, the food quality is consistently top tier, and the customer service never disappoints. We went a few days ago on the weekend, and as expected it was packed. But even with a full house, the service did not slip at all. Our server Alyssa had about eight tables and did not miss a beat. She was attentive, fast, friendly, and completely on it the entire time. That kind of service on a busy weekend is impressive. Now let's talk about the FOOD. The meat quality is always fresh and delicious. If you go, you HAVE to get the premium brisket. Trust me. I've been to U-Grill before and I believe this is a newer location. With that being said, the inside is really nice it's a cool dim light vibe, not busy. I found the service to be pretty attentive for us. We were checked on often, grill was changed when needed, everything came out timely, and waters were always full. I'm only giving 4 stars because we found some of the cuts chewy or not too great. All in all I would return though I enjoyed their side choices and meat choice overall. As regulars of U Grill, we decided to try this location for the first time. Upon arrival, the hostess was sweet and attentive. While waiting for our table, we grabbed drinks at the bar--but unfortunately, the bar top was noticeably dirty, and the bartender seemed irritated and disappeared after serving us. We had to find someone else to close out our tab when our table was ready. Once seated, we noticed the table was only partially clean--my spoon was dirty, and the non-functioning vent above us was covered in food. Although our server was friendly, she forgot to turn on our grill, leaving our food sitting out until she returned. When we asked about the heavy smoke in the restaurant, we were told that none of the vents were working. They were also out of cucumbers and bean sprouts. I don't like giving bad reviews but the food quality was not fresh throughout the experience. If you're paying for the average price of $25-$30 of ayce bbq please cover the basics. A majority of the side dishes was not fresh. The majority of the basic meat set was either overly marinated, sliced too thick to grill or the meat turned out to be dry. The redeemable part of the experience was the staff service, check in at the host stand was a breeze, our server checked in on our rounds and quickly switched out the grill. I get it, there's minimal Kbbq AYCE restaurants in Chino Hills. Parking: Big parking lot plaza but a majority of the time the place is packed, there is about to be 1-2 openings if you circle around the area for 2-3 mins. Service: The servers were attentive, they checked in on ordering rounds. You would have to flag them down to change the grill but they were on it. Food (Dinner Set A): Just from the side dishes alone, there's not a lot of care towards what kind of food is going to be served. Side dishes that are meant to be cold and chilled (cucumber, kimchi, radish side dishes) looked squishy and tasted to be in kbbq room temperature (warm). Japchae was bland, it tasted like only soy sauce mixed with glass noodles. Very minimal ingredients, where's the sesame oil to give it some flavor and shine? Marination and cut of the meat make difference towards enjoying the Kbbq experience. For example, the pork chop meat cut was really THICK, thicker than usual Kbbq restaurants AND the meat was 90% fat and 10% meat. It took a lot of time for us to cut the fat out then grill the meat on the stove. The calamari steak was overly marinated as well. read more
