Employees were very helpful and assisted with our needs and questions. However, two things: 1 - we rented a 10 ft truck. We were not told that there is no lock to secure the back. It would have been helpful if they would have mentioned that there was no lock and to ask if we had one or needed one. Especially since they knew we were taking the truck to another state. 2 - while it is agreed that the truck has at least a quarter tank of gas when we leave it ..... we had less than that and were driving on fumes to get to a gas station to gas it up. They should have charged the previous customer for not making sure there was enough gas AND they should have put some gas in to make sure the next customer had enough. Finally - note that this location is in a tricky spot. While it is close to Hwy 87 - you have to go 'around the block' to access it. read more

I told California I paid 400 for the rental, they looked on their computer and said no, you paid 75 for local rental. I showed the credit card receipt, they denied it still! The advertised price of $19.95 a day is a joke, a fat lie! I rented a van for about 4 hours. The cost was over $60. There are lots of fees involved and they trick you into buying insurance saying if you damage the vehicle you are liable to pay damages immediately. When I returned the van the guy didn't even come out to get the keys, or inspect it for damage. I felt duped to say the least. read more

Zero stars. This place is run by crooks who lie to try and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. I was charged an additional $90 for my rental because they claimed I did not put gas back in the truck before I dropped it off which is a flat out lie. I put the exact amount of gas back in before drop off. I could have disputed it and subpoenaed the gas station for the video of me clearly pumping gas along with my bank statement proving I indeed put gas but with all the time and money that would take it was just easier to pay their fee. It strongly recommended that nobody rent vehicles from this Uhaul but if you do. Make sure you take time stamped pictures of the fuel during pick up and drop off. Heard they had a good deal on propane. Thought i would go on a Monday morning thinking it would be quick. There was only one worker and a line of people waiting. Propane was a good price but not worth the wait. The one employee was nice enough. Hire some more people and maybe I'll come back. If you want your money stolen and valuable belongings taken, be sure to use this company! Had about $2000 worth of jewelry and silver stolen from me while using this company for moving my apartment with a Upod. My art was also heavily damaged during the transfer, even though I had purchased insurance, they refused my claim to fix any of the paintings. 2 of my frames were broken, one a large custom piece that is expensive to replace!! They denied me and blamed the moving company. Whereupon I filed a claim with the moving company that I used -through Uhaul- they deleted my receipt of the transaction on their site and also refused to take blame. My belongings were stolen, my art damaged, when it arrived one of my pieces was even crumpled, ripped, and stuffed into a box. On top of that, the moving company director that was reccomended though the Uhual app sent me unsolicited nude photos of his junk!! So disgusted with this company and anyone involved with their business, completely terrorized me, broke my things, stole my belongings, and refused to replace anything!!! What is the point of insurance if they don't actually help or listen to you? Save your money for a place that actually cares about you and your belongings. Don't use this business if you value your stuff, spend a little extra for a worthwhile business. This was my first time renting a moving truck and I was very pleased with my experience. My husband and I were moving some furniture up to Folsom/Sacramento and ended up renting a 10 foot truck. Our pick up was at 7am so we got there right at that time. Unfortunately, their systems were down so everything was slightly delayed. There was a decent line outside the store waiting to get in since they were only allowing a few people in a time due to the COVID-19 situation but they had the precautions and everything organized well. Despite, the system being down, all the employees were very calm and understanding. We had the pleasure of working with Daniel M. who was great at helping us as well as his other employees figure out manual contracts without the computer system working. Our truck was very clean inside and out and ran smoothly during the whole trip. It did smell a bit like cigarette smoke inside but it wasn't terrible. Everything was easy to operate and understand and it had pretty good gas mileage for such a large truck. Returning the truck was even easier. We made it back before the store closed so we didn't have to use our phone for dropping off during after-hours. A gentleman named Alejandro L. assisted us with the drop off and was very friendly and efficient. There was a small mix up and confusion with mileage and as I fumbled to try to find the manual receipt from the day before, he ended up waiving the fee (thank you!). This place is a flipping joke. Rented a van to move some Christmas stuff from storage. Van had full tank of gas. I had van for 45 mins and I put 7 miles on the van and returned the van with a full tank of gas. When returning I used the self help function as there was line out the door as usual here. I took pictures of everything including mileage and gas gauge. Submitted and got final charges .. later in day when checking email I see additional check in receipt with gas charge as it said I returned van with half tank of gas. This sh@t is fraud and bs. Of course I called U-Haul and rep has to assign a manager to review? What a joke ! Of course I'll be disputing this charge with my credit card company. Additionally, when picking up, the customer in front of me couldn't understand when his rental was so expensive .. the U-Haul dude tried slipping insurance coverage into the rental without disclosing it! These guys are terrible. customer service is not in their vocabulary. I bought some boxes here with the understanding that they would buy them back if they were unused. After all, that's what the signs in the store say. My day starts at 1:30am, I have a 5 week old and 3 year old. Any new parent understands this can be especially challenging when traveling. We travel from San Diego County to the Bay Area and arrive at 11:30pm - everyone is physically and mentally exhausted at this point. I unpack the trailer and drive it to the location in the subject line. I pull into the drop off zone where no one greets me. I begin to unhook the trailer when an employee, Jose (Hispanic, morbidly obese, short - I give descriptors of this employee so there is no confusion in who I am speaking about) asks me to pull the trailer around back and park it for them. Having rented a trailer from U-Haul in the past, I know this is the not the normal but I oblige out of kindness because it was a hot day. I pull it around, back it up and begin to unhook it. As I'm unhooking, Jose asks me to straighten it out and pull it back further. I say, "No, I've already done more than I should have as a customer" He says to me, and I quote "Don't be mad that you don't know how to drive/use the trailer" and "are you going to cry about it" when I didn't oblige his second request. I unhook the trailer myself, Jose provides me no receipt I drop off the trailer or confirmation. I'm in a rush because of the long day at this point, I go home to my wife to help unpack and take care of the kids. It's now 7pm and I still have no confirmation of my drop off. I grow worried because I do not want to be held liable for the disservice of a disgruntled employee. I drive back, luckily Jose was no longer there but Carlos was. Carlos was extremely helpful. We showed him the trailer was parked right outside and I was checked out, confirmation of drop off sent. Knowing this company was started by a Marine, he would never have accept this kind of behavior and service, or want this employee representing his business. read more

I rented a UBox to be shipped from San Jose, California to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. It was picked up and loaded as scheduled in San Jose on 8/20/2025. My contract said it was guaranteed to arrive in Hattiesburg on 9/3/2025 and I had movers scheduled to pick it up and unload it 9/4/2025. On 9/3/25 I was informed by text message that there was a delay with shipping and that it wouldn't arrive until 9/7 or 9/8. My son and son-in-law had both taken a week of vacation to help me with unpacking, and this was wasted time for both of them...requiring me to try to manage the boxes by myself once it arrived. Additionally, the mover who was initially booked through U-Haul told me he was unable to make the delivery because U-Haul had blocked his access to see my order, although it was still active on my end. I had to cancel him and rebook with no assistance from U-Haul. On 9/8 I was informed that there was a further delay and that it would arrive on 9/9. It did arrive late on 9/9. The movers planned to deliver it on 9/10. After driving 2 hours one way to the U-Haul store, they were told that there was no forklift driver at U-Haul and it couldn't be done that day. These movers had to return home...another 2 hour drive without compensation. They could not do it the next day. Michael with Ubox support helped to reschedule a new mover (3rd one for this site) but it took a 1 hr 24 minute phone call. This new driver delivered and unloaded my Ubox at approximately 7pm on 9/11/25. U-Haul refunded me $300 for this delay for a service that cost a total of approximately $3000.00. I will never recommend this company or service to anyone. Communication was very difficult and getting updates required me to inquire myself. It has been an extremely challenging experience that cost my family members precious vacation time that was pointless and made this move way more difficult than it was guaranteed to be. read more

I was in need of some specialized boxes for hanging clothing. I found a majority of the U-Haul locations in south county; Gilroy and Morgan Hill don't carry many box options. I called the reservation service for U-Haul and they referred me to this location, they had a good selection. This location did not disappoint. When it's time to book a moving truck, or purchase more boxes I will definitely license location. The staff were friendly and were easy to deal with. I booked 2 months in advanced for an auto transport and a truck. 3 days before the move they STILL tell me they dont know about the auto transport. i visited today and they told me the same thing and my move is in a few days. HORRIBLE if you cant meet a demand months in advanced. I went to Penske instead and Penske GAURANTEES the truck and auto transport will be there. So for californians making a one way move? Please go to penske instead, they have plenty of auto transports and will GAURANTEE the truck and transport. There is no checkbox when booking that says "no availability sorry but book anyways". Besides the fact that the location is great and they have a lot of inventory, they really lack communication amongst their crew. I booked online and was set to pick up my trailer at 7 am when they opened. Paid $45 for the trailer and insurance. The guy that handled the transaction told me that I needed to drop off by 3. I was confused because normally when I rent from Uhaul, the rental is good for 24 hrs. So I told him I'd try my best to return it by 3 but that I wasn't sure I would be able to. 2:30 rolls around and I'm still using the trailer, I decided to call the number of the location to which I get a call center letting me know that there's a 30-45 minute wait. After waiting patiently, 3:30 rolls around and the lady on the phone told me there'd be a late charge. I explained to her that I tried to call earlier but the hold time wasn't allowing that. She transferred the call over to the actual location (which I thought I was getting upon initially calling). They then tell me that they close at 8 but that my rental is good for 24 hours. Great so then 5:30ish rolls around and I get 3 missed calls from Uhaul saying that my rental is late. I mean if that doesn't tell you there's a serious communication issue, I don't know what does. No issue with that policy, but the problem was not being enformed about this when purchasing the rental. Thats the 1st red flag. When I approached them after the fact, letting them know I didn't appreciate of the lack of transparency, One of the representatives was very unprofessional with how he conducted himself. a) Not acknowledging his mistake or even the possibility of it. b) Failing to make eye contact and generally lacking basic social awareness. Have used this location 3 times now & have always had a pretty good experience. This most recent time there was 1 slightly weird thing that happened, though. The Good: - Web interface is great. You order online; quick & easy. - Pick up your vehicle from said location (this one). They have a lot of vehicles! Great selection of inventory. - Vehicles are clean, newer, well maintained, easy to use & drive. - Staff is always calm, friendly, & knowledgeable! The Unfavorable: - We rented a van, & for some reason all the vans gas caps were open & off. There was no gas in the van for us to drive with. One of the rules U-Haul has is that you must return the vehicle with whatever amount of gas it had when you rented it. But when you can't even drive it out of the lot because all the gas was syphoned, like what do you do? It wasn't just our van, but EVERY single van (about 10 vans). We risked it & drove it to a gas station. We did return it with little to no gas because A. We follow the rules B. Gas prices, & they didn't say a single thing. Clearly they were aware of the gas syphoning. *I am sure this isn't their fault & it is being done to them & their vehicles. - The prices are a tiny bit misleading. Perhaps not for you, but when they say $19 then say $1a mile plus you need to buy gas, it gets pretty expensive. Would come here again to rent a U-Haul, but hope they get that gas thing figured out. I rarely need to rent a moving van or truck but when I do I have use this location a few times now. Always easy to reserve online, always easy to check out vehicle, and always easy to return. The team is always friendly and helpful. The office has lots of supplies if you need. Location is super easy to find right off the Guadalupe Expressway- Curtner exit. Vehicles are always in good shape and clean. Would recommend renting from this location. read more
