If you go there at 645pm for propane don't expect it to get filled even though they close at 7pm. They will say "we about to close." When I asked "don't you close at 7pm for customers?" They said "we up out of here at 7pm." Lol great service gentlemen. Hard days work. read more

Scheduled a 10' truck rental to be picked up from the North Royalton Uhaul location to be dropped off at this location. I also ordered a dolly and the insurance online prior to coming to the location to pick up. On the online order I mentioned / put into the request it was to be returned to another location, 30 miles away (Kamms Corners). I also mentioned this multiple times when I went to pick up the truck and they confirmed as they were looking over the order. They also overcharged me for a different dolly as they did not have the dolly I reserved online so they gave me a more expensive option. When I tried to return to Kamms Corners, this U-Haul location said I could not and had to return it to the original location. When I mentioned I stated this at least three times, the response was "you can call Uhaul customer service at Corporate if you want lady, but they or we can't and won't do anything". So then having to go back to the original location (North Royalton), there was a major accident on the highway next to the exit to the North Royalton U-Haul that delayed the drop off over an hour and a half. I called in advance to say I was coming 10 minutes after they closed- however no one would wait, and they said return it to the after hours drop off, which again was yet another additional charge. Not sure how anyone moves across the country with Uhaul if they are this messy between locations under 50 miles - such a terrible experience - avoid if you can! read more

I needed a tow hitch put on my 2021 Honda CRV. The dealer actually recommended a U-Haul to put it on because it would've save me at least half of the cost and be done correctly. My Honda salesman quoted me the dealership price of $500. I appreciated that advice and went to this U-Haul dealer to inquire about getting the tow hitch put on. I walked in at about 3:30 PM on a weekday and the place was busy. I had to wait in line. When I got to the counter I asked about prices and shared the model of my car with the gentleman behind the counter. He asked questions that helped him figure out which model would be best for my car, and he did not try to oversell me. He quoted me a price of $200 and said they could do it right now if I'd like. I was surprised because it was getting close to their closing time, 5 PM. Nonetheless I took advantage of it because the price was ridiculously reasonable and the timing could not have been better. I turned my keys over to the gentleman behind the counter and walked across the street and sat at Dunkin' Donuts while they worked on the car. I was originally told that it would take at least an hour closer to an hour and a half. After 45 minutes I got a call from U-Haul saying the vehicles done and ready to go. I was thrilled. The work is professional, clean, and looks wonderful. We recently use the hitch to put a platform in to take things on vacation with us, which is really all I needed it for. Could not be happier with my tow hitch installation from this place. Highly recommend! read more

She laughed when we said we had to drive 180 miles .What a terrible policy to pick the truck up with 1/4 tank . And to give us a truck with 126k miles what a joke .glad we made it there in back but no peace of mind . So disappointing . read more

Mark Sims is total jerk. He believes because he talks softly he can say whatever he wants and it's not rude. He calls you a liar for no reason, just that no one is to be believed. Any mistakes that his people make in "the uhaul process" is ok but if you forgot about one thing then everything is now your responsibility. Would highly recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Came for propane. I didnt get any and Im still a happy customer. Well now thanks to the Uhaul staff person manning outside I am an expert at Propane. (They were the only one there on 1/2/2022 at 3pm) Turns out these tanks lose their certification. Mine expired in 2017. That is what you get sometimes when you do exchanges. It is completely illegal but it happens. I now know what to look for for expiration dates and I now know that refilling at Uhaul is the best value. Did you know that when you exchange your tank you only get 75% full? I didnt. Now I do. Uhaul you pay by the gallon and you pay for what you get (Versus Menards which charges you a flat 20 no matter what) Uhaul is a better deal (currently by 2 dollars) I was really impressed with the person at Uhaul. Finding out they are the best price is even better. (Ive also found out recently if you want a hitch put on your car it is about the same as doing it yourself to have them put on the Uhaul kit) Great service. Super friendly and great information. Ill be back with a tank with the right dates! read more

Can't get propane despite them having a tank, me calling to verify their close time, and me telling them I was on my way. I'll likely lose a hundred dollars in food in the fridge/freezer in my RV. I was told when they opened and the fact that I was in Detroit hours beforehand doesn't matter. read more

I went to get a hitch installed on my Chevy Trax. After waiting for two and a half hours, they come out and tell me they can't do it, tell me "you should try another U-Haul shop. ". It takes over 30 minutes to process my refund. To top it off as I'm driving home my tail lights fall out, the mechanic did not properly reattach them. They get one star because after driving back, they immediately reattached the tail lights. read more

I made a Uhaul reservation yesterday afternoon, Wednesday July 31st to pick up a 10 foot truck at 11600 Berea Rd, Cleveland OH at 6:30pm. I made this reservation online through the Uhaul.com website, noting the "reservation guaranteed or we will give you $50 dollars," however I haven't had any major issues with Uhaul before. Shortly afterwards as I was leaving work at 5pm, I had a voicemail from Vicky with Uhaul saying that the truck was already rented and I would need to go to Kamm's Corner to pick up a truck instead. Not knowing where this was, I googled it and found the store, which would end up resulting in an extra 20 miles or so of travel including my personal vehicle. I went to the 16515 Lorain avenue location in Kamm's Corner and explained that my location was moved, I wasn't sure if I still had the self service option set up because I hadn't spoken with anyone, I just had a voicemail. I provided my ID to look up the reservation and I casually asked if I was going to be getting that $50 credit towards my account that day, noting that I had a taken a screen shot of it and had my confirmation email as well at the prior location. This is where I began getting berated, belittled, humiliated, and in my opinion flat out discriminated against. The young man working at the counter said "well you still got a truck so it doesn't matter where it is you still have a truck so you don't get anything." He continued "and it wouldn't matter anyways you have to call that location that messed up, its not our problem." (That location that "messed up" was closed at 5pm and it was now 6:30pm). I responded okay that's fine, I will just handle it with Uhaul tomorrow. Could you let me know your site manager's name for when I call. At this point the young man who told me his name is Mark, began yelling at me, saying why would I ask for compensation. He continued saying "you want compensation, but I'm not giving you 50 dollars." At this point, feeling threatened and embarrassed by how he was talking to me, I asked that he please just process my reservation, and insisted I did not want any compensation. I repeated this plea at least 6 times as he continued questioning me about why I am "being difficult." I said now you are calling a customer difficult? Note that there are two other customers standing right behind me, one of which has walked up next to me at the counter and is leaning on the counter at this point... Mark takes my ID and credit card and hands them back to me and says "you know what you can leave. Get out. Get out or I'm calling the police." The other customer, asks Mark what is your problem what did he do? I asked him to please calm down and just give me my reserved truck, I had movers waiting to help me and had to be out of the rental that I had as it was the last day of the month. Mark continued yelling at me, came from behind the counter and basically pushed me out of the store, (with the customer who had questioned him and the other customer had already left, I'm guessing because he too felt so uncomfortable) and then locked the front door of the store behind me! In what world is this acceptable in any sort of customer service oriented business.... I spoke with the customer who was now locked out with me, as he expressed his utter confusion about what had just happened, repeatedly apologizing to me that this was even a reality. Why should he apologize to me??? It's not his fault. I walked away to my car to call the number that had left me the voicemail earlier. At his point, the store attendant let the other man back in the store. My only logical reasoning behind this is that perhaps it could be because although he questioned the clerk as well, he was black and I was white? I think it is a question that has some standing when asked in a legal framework... Kick two customers out of the store and let the one of the same race back in...? Is it because I am young and the other customer is elderly? Perhaps that not the reason. But I'd say its something worth looking into if you are Uhaul. Last night was the first step of moving my fiance and her child out of their apartment into mine, until we move into our newly purchased home in two weeks. It was my intention to rent another 26 foot truck from Uhaul for that move as well, but as I am sure you can assume, I will be going elsewhere. I have never been more publicly humiliated, and degraded in my life. I am embarrassed, and I am angry and I want to see that Uhaul cares what their customers think and how they are treated. A repeat customer, whom has rented from Uhaul 20 plus times in the last 8 years. Show me Uhaul doesn't stand for this kind of treatment of its customers. read more
