I pretty much come here for dinner every other day since I moved to the area and the quality of the food is consistent and it's delicious every time. I particularly enjoy the house special chow fun and the s&s chicken but I know everything else is pretty good as well. Had sesame chicken a couple of times and had to toss it both times because it was undercooked and had weird texture. Had the vegetable low main a couple of days ago and it was very mediocre, did not end up finishing it and the fries that were part of my order were very pale and soggy. Some items are still pretty tasty but it's a very hit or miss. The dough for the dumpling was too thick ,undercooked and the filling appeared to b nothing more than chopped up ,tasteless frozen spinach and/or broccoli stems. Average Chinese with cuisine, nothing special. I tried to like U like but I don't like U like. There are better places in the area. Checkout Lotus, this is my absolute last resort. The general tso's chicken isn't good at all here, very mushy and not spicy at all. The food is fabulous over here. They usually put the dishes in plastic containers -- perfect to prevent those spills in the usual Chinese box container! Of course they deliver -- they have a computerized setup, so they'll remember your address/phone number. Sure beats repeating yourself a thousand times. Pick up a homemade iced tea too. This review is based on my order tonight. It kind of hurts, actually. And I certainly hope that my experience isn't what I can expect for the future. I placed a simple enough order this evening: won ton soup (which I love; I think theirs is the best in Inwood), steamed chicken and broccoli (with brown rice), two beverages, and I asked for chopsticks and hot sauce. Forty five minutes after I placed my order, I call to inquire as to its whereabouts. I'm assured that it is "on it's way." Um...yeah, not so much. I call again after an hour and am told the same thing. The man who answered the phone was rude, kept making excuses, and never even offered an "I'm sorry" until I prompted him. The food finally arrives an hour and five minutes after I placed my order. The soup is lukewarm. The chicken and broccoli was in desperate need of more chicken. The brown rice I had requested was white. And there was not a packet of hot sauce, chopsticks, or those nasty prepackaged fried wontons (which should come with the soup, though I never eat them) in sight. I called back to mention that I had indeed asked for several things (especially brown rice) that I didn't get. The man on the phone was again, rude and unapologetic. I'm worried about this. Normally I really find U Like to be trustworthy and would give if four stars for the cheap Chinese that it is. But today was definitely a one star day. I'll give them another chance though and am crossing my fingers for better food and service. read more

I ordered the sesame chicken. It was a little sweeter than I would have liked, and barely any broccoli, but it was good. So I have tried their General Tso's Chicken, Egg roll and their Spicy beef neither of them was something I liked. The General Tso's Chicken was too watery and the chicken quality was just embarrassing. The flavor of the sauce was just not right and I tried it twice so it was not because they had a bad day. Their pork fried rice which came with the General Tso's chicken was okay but nothing spectacular. The egg roll that I tried was soft and gui (if there is such a word - it felt like chewing rubber) and there was not much flavor to it. When I then decided to try another dish because there had to be something they were good at I tried the spicy beef and since I like spicy food ( I order spicy, because I want spicy) I asked if it could be extra extra spicy and the lady handling my order said okay turn around and yelled something Chinese, so I am assuming she requested it to be extra spicy. Let me just say there was no spiciness AT ALL. What a BIG disappointment and I have stopped waisting my money at this place. It is not worth it. read more

Honestly, this place can be very hit or miss. I stick with General Tso's chicken and sometimes the chicken is perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch and tenderness. Other times the skin is falling off and the chicken is just overall mushy. I'd have to say more often than not they nail it. This could have something to do with delivery time, also. They're just a couple blocks away, so it shouldn't take long, but when they get busy, I imagine the food sits for a bit. Fried wontons as an appetizer are amazing, as well. I've been on a bit of a Chinese-kick lately, so I thought I'd include a review of U Like, which I've been going to and ordering from for a few years. My girlfriend lives just a block away so this is our 'go-to' place for good cheap fast food. Like most New Yorkers, we've had our share of Chinese take-out. So, what's there to like about U Like? First off, they're fast. We've never had to wait long for a delivery. However, on a few different occasions, our orders have been wrong, and I've had to go back to them with my order to get it corrected. It's a serious PITA, but they've always changed my order with apologies and given me a few free extra sodas. Their food isn't outstanding, but, then again, hardly any Chinese take-out ever is. Everything I've tried has been good, with the exception of their hot n'sour and egg drop soups. YUCK! Their prices and portions are the reverse of most restaurants in NYC, meaning you get lots of food for dirt cheap without the dirt. I don't know the name of the tall Asian guy who works there, but he's always been friendly and nice to us. Given the lack of diverse choices for dining in Inwood, unless you want Spanish food every night (not knocking Spanish food at all for it's Damn Good!), I'll be continuing to order my late night take-out fro U Like, but making my own soup... read more

The employees are extremely rude. They rush you while taking your order. They have sent me the wrong order multiple times. When i called to get the right order, they were rude and clammed they didnt hear me and said they were not going to send me my right order. They told me to go pick it up or to deal with it. The delivery drivers also expect good paying tips, if its not enough they will complain to you about it. They hung up on me several times and they said that if i wanted it delivered i would have to wait another hour. The food has been spoiled before as well. read more
