My Samsung Galaxy S8+ had a hairline fracture running through the screen. Freak accident: was carrying a sugar geode crystal alongside my phone, and the crystal sliced through the glass horizontally end to end. Happened in March 2020, right before the shelter in place orders hit the Sacramento metropolitan area. The crack wasn't keeping the phone from being operational, but it was definitely making me nervous- I thought at any moment the crack in the glass could spread leaving me quarantined due to COVID19 with no entertainment (not kidding, this phone has been my lifeline). So I took it to UBreak, dropped it off at 11am on a Wednesday, and my screen replacement was done by 4pm same day. Cost was pricey- almost $270 after tax- but it was worth it to me because they're a Samsung authorized repair center so I knew the replacement glass would be perfect. Also, I love this particular model of Galaxy phone, and as it's paid off, I don't want to upgrade (and double my Verizon bill) until I absolutely have to. Yeah, no. After contacting this store by phone to make an appointment I found they are first come first serve. They said they had the screen in stock and the turn around is one to two hours. I imagine it would be longer if many customer were ahead of me. I took a four hour chunk out of my day and took the forty five minute drive to the store. I was checking in with a person at the front desk and asked if they had a narrowed down time estimate. They said three to four hours. Then they went on about the work taking one to two hours but needing to have my phone for an additional one to two hours just in case. A couple of things.. First why no appointments? Works for both side of the customer/business equation right? Let me argue a stores side. "We don't take appointments because people don't show up!" Yeah but what about the customers that do? "it's to hard" Harder than what? A store can make a system for appointments from super easy to stupidly time consuming. Second, train your people. One or two other employees saw me come in and saw me leave. If the norm is three to four hours, shame on the rep that talked with me on the phone. If the norm is one to two hours, shame on the two or three employees for not taking care of my phone. I have Asurion insurance and my deductible is 29.95 and at this point I will pay the full 300.00 for Samsung to swap the phone out. The extra money is not worth another half day lost. Having moved to town from Fremont where I've used their store previously I was happy to find one in town. My mom broke her new phone and unfortunately they could not get the part from Samsung to repair it but the guy that helped me at his location was very helpful and advised me to send the phone directly to Samsung for repair because they will keep a certain number of parts in stock for them without selling to the outside. I took my IPhone in a few days ago because the firewire socket seemed to be blocked or broken. A very nice technician took it to the back room and brought it back having removed the built up lint in the socket. I asked what the charge was and he told me it was a customer courtesy. I was very pleased. I've taken other things there to be repaired and will continue to do so in the future. I had an IPad emergency and decided to try uBreakiFix in Citrus Heights for the repair. It was my first time in. The shop had a cramped feeling to it. There were two guys behind the counter helping other customers. I joined the line. I'd been there for what already felt like eons listening to them up sell screen protectors when another man came in behind me. The person in front of me was finally finishing. It would be my turn next, or so I thought. Suddenly the jerk who'd come in behind me elaborately crept around me and made his way up to the counter. Did he not learn basic waiting in line skills in kindergarten? Instead of smacking him down and telling him to find his place in line the salesclerk went in the back to fetch the jerk's device. I watched as the idiot pulled out a wad of cash to pay. That salesclerk's actions told me very clearly whose business this store values, and it wasn't mine. I certainly wasn't going to beg this place to take my money, waste my time, MAYBE fix my iPad plus and their salesclerk treat me like I'm invisible. I've gone to UbreakIfix once before for a screen replacement, and had thought they had donea wonderful job, but this last experience has put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Unbeknownst to me, my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra had a crack in my digitizer. Verizon noticed it, and helped me set up a claim through my insurance, which was greatly helped. With this being my only means of communication/internet in my hands, this phone is important to me. (I know, first world problems.) I was extremely thankful and grateful that they told me that they would be able to have my screen replaced and ready to go just before their closing time at 7, but it would be about a 3 hour wait. I didn't mind, and spent my time in the area making sure I'd be their on time. I gave them my phone and the guy who helped me said he would just email me the receipt rather than giving me one. I was like okay, cool. Didn't have me sign anything which I thought was a bit odd, but oh well. 3 hours pass, I come by, my phone is ready. I'm super excited. Pick up my phone, and I'm gone. Only to notice that they never put my simcard back in my phone. So I disrupt my dinner to go back in for my card, which they still had. So that was a slight annoyance, but we're all human. Fast forward, I try calling people, and no one can understand me. My speaker is all jacked up since the repair. I reset it, nothing. Call ubreakifix while at work to let them know, and they told me it's out of their hands and to tell my insurance provider about it. They said they'll just send me a new one. I spend my lunch calling asurion and the representative said that ubreakifix should fix my phone and wanted to reschedule a repair. I work 6 days a week, and their business hours are during my work hours and I'm not in this area. So I explain that to the asurion rep and he said no worries. Starts to place an order for a replacement phone. Notices the color that I have is not in stock and have to get me a new one. I don't mind persay, because I rather have a phone than nothing at all, but I chose the color of my current phone for a reason. However, he tells me I need to transfer my phone stuff and have it shipped back at a certain date otherwise I'll get charged. So now I'm going to have a phone shipped to me, where I will have to go through the hassle of setting it up. Like I said, I'm happy that I'll have a working phone, but all of this has now just turned into a hassle. I don't know what happened during the repair, but between forgetting my simcard and the messing up of my speaker, it just sounds like they weren't being that mindful or careful with the repair of my phone. I'm not giving them a 1 star because they had good service in the past and they did fix the original issue with my phone, but they created a whole new issue and hassle that I will be dealing with. I am leaving this review in the hopes that they are a little more diligent with the repair of other people's phones. I've done customer service, and I understand people are human and mistakes happen. I just didn't think that it was professional after forgetting my Sim card, my speaker going out, and then telling me that my only option is to call asurion for a replacement because after the phone leaves the store after repair, it becomes "out of their hands". When my iPhone screen cracked and I wasn't able to use the bottom right corner of the screen, I took it into Verizon. Verizon sent me to uBreakiFix in Citrus Heights. The associate at Verizon created the claim and called the location to make sure they had the part I needed. They did. I paid for the service at Verizon and went to the store to give them my phone. The gentlemen that checked me in was explaining what would happen and that I could pick my phone up the next day. There was a bit of back and forth over the phone and a bit of confusion, but I ended up getting my phone back the next morning. Really inconveniencing.. Did a claim thru Asurion and this is the closest place to go (20 miles from me). Brought my phone in on my 1 day off. Which is fine whatever. Quoted it would be about 2 hours.. fine. My kids are involved in sports so I arranged for someone to watch them so I could go pick my phone up. Drove the 20 miles there, picked up my phone and drove back. My cracked screen is repaired but my phone will not connect to 3g or 4g. I cannot use my phone at all other than over wifi. Tried calling them over wifi and they couldn't even hear me. Ended up messaging them and they told me to bring it back (there were no issues with my phone other than the screen being cracked before. Brought my PS4 to be repaired here they quoted me 3 days. Then I was told parts needed to be ordered the repair exceeded 7 days. After a few days I had the same issue with my console. If you call you can't get through directly to the store you are directed to a call center. The call center dropped my call a couple of times. This place is an authorized Samsung repair place. When I walked in I was greeted right away. I The staff was very knowledgeable and explained everything. Not only will it no longer read a sim card but it also will not charge the battery. Sure,the insurance company is sending me a new phone but without a battery charged I can't transfer my info to the new one. I ended up not having to go to the store, let alone they were almost 30 miles from me, but I did call and spoke to their tech and he basically walked me through on what I needed to do. Unfortunately, I ended up having to do a factory reset. Even Samsung was not able to assist me, something TikTok made me do! NEVER AGAIN will I do another android TikTok hack on my phone! Thank you for saving my sanity & index finger........ A few months ago I dropped my work cell phone down a flight of cement stairs and shattered the screen. Being that it was my second replacement in a one yr period I knew I wouldn't be able to upgrade. Definitely a fan of this place. A few months ago my middle son's iPad stopped working. It wasn't cracked on the outside but it was cracked on the inside. LCD I believe is what it was. I took it to Best Buy where I bought it and the warranty had expired. They recommended uBreakiFix. My son uses his iPad as a communication device (AUTISM) among other things like entertaining himself on YouTube. It had been broken for a week and because getting him a new one would probably take some time to get him to adjust to (I never even update it for him because although he gets it, adjusting is not a comfortable process for anyone), this created a lot of anxiety for me and not having it for a week created a lot trouble for him. I walked in almost in tears and they immediately told me what it was and asked that I leave it to make sure it was what they thought. I got a call soon after confirming the problem and offering to put in a used one for a little less which was still over $100.00 but considering how badly we needed it back this was music to my ears. The only thing I was a bit put off by was that every corner showed obvious signs of being pried open and every corner had little sharp pieces. Came in for a Samsung manufacturing defect because of a screen burn, called Samsung and came into store for a repair and they told me it was within the warranty and that they will have to order the part and to come back next week. After a week I returned and they told me it's outside the warranty window and that I have to pay a deposit. They graciously looked up my claim through Asurion to verify everything was okay. When we arrived, the line moved fast. They offer exemplary customer service here. They quoted me $100 to replace the card reader, i showed this coupon prior to leaving it with them and the guy said to show that when i pick up the switch and pay. I come back a week later when its ready to be picked up. I then show the (different) worker the coupon, he goes in the back to ask his boss about it, and he says his boss claims its a corporate coupon that they wont accept because they are a franchise.....strange, i was able to book the appointment for the repair through the link in the coupon email through the "corporate" website. I would understand more if that was mentioned prior to the service being done but to only say that after the repair when i dont have a choice is shady. Never will be back. One week later, they called and said they had it. When I got there, they had me wait, but eventually told me they had the wrong part AGAIN. They apologized and told me they would get it right the third time. After another week, the manager told me they couldn't find the right part and blamed it on their company. They're good at pointing fingers and passing the blame to other people, even Samsung. He finally just told me to go to Samsung directly, after I spent weeks trying to work with them.
