First let me say that I think it's tacky that the employees here are allowed to do their make up on the floor, especially if they aren't following basic sterilization procedures. Especially if I'm standing here matching myself and you don't even greet me. After working in retail cosmetics for the last 8 years, it's not like I need the help...it's that you're providing me with the impression that you're too preoccupied to offer your assistance. Aside from that, this is an otherwise friendly Ulta. I've done returns without a hassle, gotten samples with purchase, and found exactly what I needed without too much stress. I appreciate the bonus points, which makes me want to shop here for drugstore basics like body lotion or Ardell lashes rather than say, Target. If Ulta sold more brands, I'd probably only shop here for beauty goods, but until then you can find me at Nordstrom and Sephora :) read more

I walked in here to kill time and because I had a gift certificate. Found a couple things... the store was pretty messy which is a turn-off. I was greeted by a couple people and asked if I needed help which was nice... then I checked out. The woman behind the counter kept insisting I sign up for their free rewards program (this is the second store I've been in where they basically try to force you to sign up... this is why I shop online kids). When I told her no, twice, she then said I could not return anything without signing up. Say what?? Hellz to the no. I gave her my gift card and left. She had the balls to ask me to fill out a survey on my receipt. Here's your survey lady. If management is reading this: 1. Teach your employees, who are not young and should know better, basic customer service. My 14-year old nephew is more polite. 2. Stop forcing your rewards program at check-out. I visited Ulta over the holidays with my teen daughter to pick up some hair product for...me! The store was a bit disheveled and the line for the registers was super long (it moved fairly quickly though.) Okay, it was the week after Christmas and I'm sure that provided some extra "messiness" to the store..yes, it was worked over. So, I found they had a nice selection of products (almost too much for me), but it seemed well-stocked (even after the holiday rush.) Cut to the chase - I purchased a comb that I hate - an Ulta branded comb that has really sharp "teeth." I gave it to my 9 year-old who doesn't care. I got some Paul Mitchell hair goo that works fine and even got a discount. Ulta seemed like a decent place and the employees made a real effort to be fast, friendly and efficient. This store has a lot of sales people floating around., willing to help you find stuff, however when it comes to ringing you up so that you can get out., that's another story, which is why I'm giving them 1 star. No matter what time of day or day., they are always slow processing the line. This store does not understand customers should come first when it comes to the check out line. They need to get their act together and have all hands on deck when it comes to ringing customers up so that they can get out & on with their day. Today's visit was as disappointing as most of the other times I visit this location. As I stood in line, I saw the cashier interact with the customer in front of me and she seemed very pleasant to her. She spent time walking her over to the grab-to-go display. She even asked the customer to complete an online service since the customer was very happy with her visit. When it came my turn, I feel I did not receive the same level of customer service. It was very straight to the point. She didn't even offer to help bag my items in my reusable bag! I had to bag my own items...which surprised me a little bit. Since she wasn't particularly rude to me, I will withhold from mentioning her name. I would just hope that other customers get treated equally. One visit I had a nice gal "Savannah" go out of her way to track down whatever such hair product I wanted. She even found another co-worker to get a 2nd opinion on my product choice, per my request. Another such visit, I asked for a "makeover" aka you have one of the beauty specialists do your makeup & you buy a few products. Well this particular "B...." says to me "I only have 15 minutes!" Lady, if I'm buying your products you need to zip your lip. Miscellaneous Needs: I love that I do have the option to stop by even w/o an appointment and have them "doll me up" with makeup for an event. Very convenient (depending who you get...) And....I love the perfume display area. I love this place. I know this place can be little over priced on many products but its worth it. (And this is reason why I am giving 4 stars - Some products are overpriced) They have everything and all services that I need. And it is very convient for me to purchase items before or after I get my service done at Brow Bar or Salon. I go to BrowBar every other week for quick services (sometimes with Appt and No Appt) and Hair Salon for Signature Cut. (Mostly with Appt, sometimes Drop in) FYI, Tiffany is amazing! Since my usual hair stylist is no longer available (due to illness), I tried many different places, and this place is the new hair place for me. I did hear so many good things about the Salon, and I actually asked ULTA employees whether their Salon service is worth it or not, and many of them said yes, and they were so right! I would highly recommend to people to get Salon Services through Tiffany - and use their promotions (e.g First Time Hair Cut & Style for 30 bucks, etc) usefully along with those ULTA Point System. If I am correct, you can get free hair cut with 1000 pts. (Each $1 you spend = 4 pts. ) - which I am going to use for my next service. read more

They have good coupon deals here. Some of the employees are more helpful than others but if you don't want to be bothered when you shop and you know what you want, Ulta is the place to go. They have everything from high end to drugstore type makeup and hair products mostly. I'm not a huge make up buyer or user so they suit my needs just fine. They also have great deals on hair products as well. I just discovered the Pop make up line which is affordable and doesn't make me break out! I've gone to this Ulta a handful of times. I usually shop online and now I remember why. The elderly associate was so rude. I usually bring my own shopping bag as a habit. When I entered this location, there were a lack of shopping bags available so I used my own. A shopped around for a bit only to be stopped by the grumpy crow who cackled at me, "you need to use only our shopping bags!" Sorry, if it wasn't for your disfunctional and poor upkeep of your own store, I would have used your dirty ass shopping bags. I gave one-star for the legit 20% off sale and one-star for having the brands I use. Everything else is a crap: poor service, terrible store conditions, slow check out experience, and top it off with apathetic employees. Go Ulta! read more

Scheduled a hair appt weeks in advance only to be told 1 hour before the appt (after taking the day off of work) that the appt was canceled because I didn't do the "Covid screen" 48 hours in advance. This screen was never mentioned when I made the appt and I am fully vaccinated, boosted, and tested twice a week and have antigen tests available to show them immediate results. I missed one call from Ulta the day before my appt (24 hours before, not even 48 hours) and yet the person said she had tried "multiple times" to reach me. What information did they need 48 hours ago about Covid that I couldn't give them now? Makes no sense and they've lost my business permanently because of how rudely I was treated by the "manager" (I think her name was Alicia but she sounded extremely unprofessional/inexperienced so I think there must be a store manager above her?) read more

I wanted to give a 5-star review for Lexi, one of the staff at Ulta Beauty Dublin. I came in with a large return of multiple orders and was anticipating it to be a long process that would likely cause a great deal of work for the cashier. Indeed it was a LONG and involved process, but I was so fortunate to have Lexi helping with my returns! She was SO upbeat and pleasant and kept reassuring me that she didn't mind at all and kept trying to make me feel better after I was apologizing for causing so much work. It's not common to find this level of customer service and I am always so appreciative when I encounter it. Honestly, with other closeby locations, like the recently opened Livermore store, and alternative chains that carry many of these products, like Sephora and Target, I'm not sure how this business is staying open. The stock is usually poor and the store itself appears dirty, like the floors need to be mopped at the minimum. I used to frequently go in here to grab my regular staple items, like my daily face moisturizer, shampoo, and occasional treat items, like newly released palettes, only to find the items sold out or opened and "sampled" so I ended up ordering online and wasting my time in that shopping center as many of the other businesses have closed there as well. read more

At my trip to Ulta, the store was quite empty and there were several salespeople floating around. However, none of them stopped to ask if I needed help. Furthermore, during my trip I was followed around the store by a salesperson with long blonde hair, almost as if she was watching me to see if I was going to steal something. I noticed this and addressed her with a "Hello!" which was returned with a cold stare and no cordial greeting or offer to help. Please retrain your employees. I love this Ulta location, they always have the cutest stuff the other locations don't have. The staff here always greet their customers, which I love. The girls here are very sweet and helpful. I always find what I'm looking for when I shop at the Dublin location. The store is always organized and fully stocked on their inventory. The parking lot is very spacious, trying to find a good spot is never an issue. I highly recommend the Dublin Ulta store. read more

Let me start this by saying I know business have been doing things differently because of covid and I get that. But... I feel like it has gone way too far with this store. I've placed 3 curbside pickup orders (I have small children and any chance I can get to not have to haul them inside a store I will gladly take it!) over the past 6 months and each time I've been treated like I have leprosy. No, seriously. I'm not even kidding. The first time I didn't have my mask on all the way when they came out to bring my items. The lady stood 3 parking spots away and yelled at me to put it on. I was so taken aback at the harshness but I still complied and didn't complain in the least. The delivery from her was just really crazy to me. The second time I ordered a month or so later I made sure my mask was all the way on so I wouldn't have the same encounter. Well, once the lady got close to my car she stood in the parking spot next to me and said she would toss it in the back seat through a window. I informed her that I had kids back there and she got really upset and flustered. She then told me to roll my passenger window down and she literally threw it in onto my passenger seat. I thought she was joking about "tossing it in". And then today I placed another pickup order. It's been a solid 4/5 months later so I surely thought that things would have calmed down with the way they were handling the pickup. Nope, totally wrong. This time the lady yet again didn't get anywhere near me and set my items on the hood of my car and then ran away. I get "contactless pickup" but this is next level! If I'm wearing a mask, and the employee is wearing a mask, then why the need to not even get near me? Do the employees do this with customers inside the store?? It's so blatantly obvious that their purposely avoiding getting anywhere near the customer and it is so awkward. It really makes you feel like you're diseased and it's so uncomfortable. Ugh Ulta: - Has drugstore products - Has an inhouse salon - Not inside a mall, feel free to come in your heels - Doesn't have most brands like Fenty, Kat Von D, & others - You can convert your points to money for a better discount, works so well when you're broke & you accumulated a lot of points Sephora - No drugstore brands - In a mall, wear heels and kill your feet - Has all high end brands you can think of, maybe not all, but all that I personally look for - Reward program sucks. This was my first time at this location and it will be my last. I needed to make an exchange and upon walking in I scanned the store to find the product I was looking for. I was in sort of a hurry and couldn't find it so I asked he nearest employee who happened to be standing right by the brand I was looking for. While explaining how I was dissatisfied with the item I picked up and wanted to exchange it for a more suitable color the woman said "I don't carry that in my store". I thought, "oh, they don't have my shade." I was wrong. They didn't carry the item I wanted in any shade :( that's fine though. I'll just return the product I was dissatisfied with, right? Wrong. Not if she could help it. After a much nicer, and more helpful employee (I think her name started with a "C".. maybe Candace) showed me a few more options, I still decided to return what I had and go home and really think about what I'd try next. At the register I was met by the same woman, who I expect was a manager as she so explicitly used the phrasing "I don't carry that in MY store." rather than we/our/the. She was clearly annoyed that I decided against purchasing something. She laughed at me. She said she was confused. There shouldn't have been anything confusing about taking the product and receipt I handed over and processing the return. She was unprofessional and immature. This review is about this particular Ulta in general, and the only thing I can review is the customer service. It stinks. My bf loves it when I enter a Sephora bc of the free wi-fi (Go figure). When we politely asked if there was free wi-fi here, we were greeted with raised eyebrows and a smirk. So, "I'll take that as a no?" my bf called after the manager. Yea, the manager was the one with that smirk. Strike 1. I came here for the free blowouts that they were offering for their Big Sexy Hair collection. The sinks were dirty, and the stylist got soap in my ear and didn't believe me when I told her so. Although you can't see the soap, I can still feel it crackling in my ears! The previous Ulta I've been to in Pasadena made sure to cover my ears and dry them. Strike 2. As for the blowout, the stylist was not very friendly. She merely worked without saying anything and finally at the end, she asked if i wanted a haircut next time around. I told her that my hair was permed and so I'm VERY particular about people cutting my hair since it needs to be cut in a certain way to accentuate the waves/curls. She has never heard of digital perms, magic straightener, etc. so there was NO WAY I was going to allow her with scissors near my hair. I like stylists to keep update, and although she knew that there are only two types of chemicals for perms, digital/rainbow/setting perms are very different from traditional cold perms. I wouldnt set foot in the salon or even this Ulta again. Although Ulta has more to offer than the regular Sephora, the customer service killed it. I understand that the blowouts were free, but when I did a free blowout at the Ulta in Pasadena, they were much nicer and treated me like a regular customer. read more

He's an Ed Hardy fan, or anything tattoo inspired & has become quite an influence on what I like too *tee-hee*. STORE: Ulta Beauty is next to Old Navy & offers plenty of parking in shared lot w/ many other store fronts @ Hacienda Crossing. Clean, spacious, & bright single-level store offering TONS of beauty products for ladies & men from fragrances, makeup, skin care, hair care, & more. Pretty much a strong competitor to Sephora, which you'd find in most shopping (indoor/outdoor) malls. Prices are not competitive...their edge is the amount of various products they have. CUST SVC: On our Monday after 5:30pm visit, the staff at this location were all friendly & helpful! Nothing about the ladies & gents working here was snooty in anyway w/ us...asked if we needed help finding anything & to let 'em know if we needed anything. No one was intrusive while we shopped more less, of fixing stands after we touched something. When I couldn't locate a perfume, lady employees were helpful to try & find it. I see other fellow Yelpers pretty much gave cust svc 2-thumbs down in the past for this location, but BF-Jayson & I were greeted & treated pleasantly...maybe mgmt read up on Yelp reviews & made some changes w/ their staff's attitude ;-) SMELLS: So we basically came here to check out perfumes & colognes, so no insight from this review on their other depts (makeup, skin/hair care, etc). Perfumes & colognes are on the right side upon entrance with their displays similiar to Sephora. They had small luggage giveaways as well for fragrance purchases; small duffle bags w/ handles & wheels =) So about 1hr later we have 1 Ed Hardy cologne plus Ed Hardy duffle bag, 2 colognes / 1 perfume (Mariah Carey original my MUST HAVE) & 3 more duffle bags. Did we really need a duffle bag on wheels? Not really, but I took it since it was applicable *tee-hee*. FINAL SPRITZ: My review of this Ulta Beauty location is that if you can't find yourself a Sephora in the area, stop on by here. Although if you don't need to smell a perfume/cologne & looking for a deal, order online at FragranceX http://www.fragrancex.com/ they've got pretty much everything like perfume Britney Spears: Believe, which is no longer on retail shelves (another of my MUST HAVE), or cologne Davidoff: Echo, also appears to no longer be on retail shelves. read more

I am very disappointed in this location. I recently had received an advertising in the mail for their daily events and the products that would be on sale each day of the week. I specifically marked my calender for one product in particular. I went in around noon and they said that they had completely run out and it was only one day. I do not buy it at all. It was noon, they opened at 10:00AM. I find it hard to believe that people would be waiting outside on a week day to get 9 dollars off of this beauty product. This to me was false advertising, I am disappointed that the sales people tried to sell me something that I did not want, and tried to basically lie to my face, and said that they had a huge stock. I thought that Sephora was my favorite "candy" store but this place is right behind it!! After not visiting your store for more than a year, I was hoping for a good change in the staff. To my dismay, it was the same snooty attitude I received the last time I was there. There was no greeter by the door (unlike Sephora where there are at least two persons greeting customers), although as I was walking around, someone was greeting everyone but in a hurried fashion. The Benefit counter was the only plus. Not only was the attendant very friendly, but eager to assist and very thorough in his explanations. I proceeded to the checkout and there was a grumpy and snooty lady behind the counter (named Gina). I could not believe her attitude, all I asked was for her to price check a few items since there were no tags on them. She huffed, rolled her eyes and said "OK" in a nonchalant manner. Wow, it wasn't like I was asking her to give up her two front teeth or anything, just wanted pricing for crying out loud! She was short fused and rude as I asked her questions regarding the items I intended to purchase. She swiped the Benefit catalog I was perusing through from my hands and threw it to one side of the counter. I reminded her in a civil and pleasant tone that I wanted to keep the catalog. This is a review for the salon and not for the rest of the store: Typically, I would not go to Ulta to get my hair cut but I came here yesterday to get my bangs trimmed because they were driving me crazy and I had other errands to run in the area. Big mistake on my part. The girl who was my hairstylist did a terrible job and cut them at a weird jagged angle. When I asked her to texturize them to soften up the blunt edges, she ended up cutting them even shorter so now they lay awkwardly right above my eyebrows. I think I could have done a better job drunk and blindfolded. She could tell I wasn't feeling her shoddy job, so she ended up getting a more experienced person to fix my bangs, but by that time the damage was already done. When I called later that day to speak to a manager, the girl who answered told me she was on holiday until this weekend and that no one else was able to handle my complaint. So upset I came here and mad at myself that I wasted my money. NEVER AGAIN! read more
