(Theres so many products out there, and people give attitude to employees) Instead do your research first then go to Ults ask the employee to help you or give any thoughts, which brand is the most popular, which one sells the most...etc and go from there. As my previous review states, curbside pickup is seamless and quick. BUT... the in store experience is COMPLETELY different. I've been inside twice, and both times the employees were snooty and dismissive. Not to mention it's nearly impossible to find someone to help you. When you finally do find someone, they're short and to the point, no smiles or anything. One lady even walked away while she was talking to me lol. Also, be aware that even if the website says they have a product in stock at this location, they don't necessarily have it. That happened to me! I recommend The District location in Tustin. Staff always act like they're too busy to help , answer questions or help look for products. Staff will straight up tell you: 'no we don't have that, we've never carried that product' .. and just leave (without suggesting different product). But more often than not I'll end up actually finding the item I came in for (without any help from staff). Incredibly frustrating! Unbelievable.... Wish Yelp had a 0 star option. I ordered a box of Ardell wispies for pick up. Came to get them and realized it the wrong kind when she opened the bag. I needed the shorter wispies for my daughter, so I asked to exchange them. First girl (checked ID) wasn't sure how to do the exchange. She tells ,who I believe is the manager, and gets another girl. Second one comes and I explained the situation. She tells me she doesn't work the registers normally and called a third person up. Third guy comes up (checks ID, gets phone number twice) and says he also couldn't do it and that I would have to wait for the manager to help me. I don't understand why it takes 4 different people to exchange a box of lashes for the exact same thing (just shorter). Manager (also checks phone number twice) says she can't do it cuz the first girl didn't compete the order pick up and we wait for her to come to complete it (even though the manager is holding the device). Not sure why she can't complete it. First girl comes and asks for my ID again. I'm pretty sure I haven't changed identities for them to check 3 times. Manager says the system is lagging and can't seem to figure out how to make it an even exchange. She finally gives up and gives me the new box. This exchange took 40 freakin minutes. I kid you not! Then she has the nerve to say "Next time, be sure to chose the right ones". Lady, your process has issues if it takes 40 minutes to exchange a box of lashes. I asked a girl if she could tell me the difference between two Ardell lash packs. She said she doesn't wear false lashes so she wouldn't know and just left me hanging. Absolutely useless employee and horrible customer service!! I was so shocked she was no help. She didn't even refer me to a different associate for help. There's the difference right there between Sephora and Ulta!!!! And then I walk to a different section and a lady asked if I need help. I said I'm looking for this one brand. As she walks me there, she said "oh and I have stuff for your acne too" I was EXTREMELY OFFENDED because I didn't even ask or mention anything about my acne. I'm insecure about it so the fact that she pointed it out MADE ME CRY IN THE CAR AFTER!! I was so livid I wish I told her off in the store. I go to this Ulta frequently since it's right next to my work. I usually get the same products consistently, but I've been unsatisfied with my face makeup as my concealer gets dry, my foundation color looks slightly off, and my face gets oily in my T zone. Also, I'm overall pretty crappy at applying face makeup. My main goal going in yesterday was to find the perfect light-weight face makeup for my combination skin, enlarged pores, small fine lines & dark circles. When I visited yesterday, Mari asked if I'd like assistance. I let her know that I have difficulty finding face makeup that matches my skin color, feels light, is hydrating, etc. Mari was SO helpful and showed me multiple products that do EXACTLY what I've been hoping for! She even showed me how to apply the makeup and blend moisturizer with a concealer, which is so nice because today is my first day trying it and it already looks way better than normal. She PERFECTLY matched my skin so easily, which is something I have struggled to do (I am very fair skinned with uneven red undertones). Thanks to Mari's recommendations, I left with Dermablend concealer, "BeautyBio the Zenbubble", and I also selected Rihanna's Fenty light foundation creme. Thanks, Mari! :) read more

Extremely unprofessional. I had a blowout appointment at noon that I scheduled weeks in advance for a photo shoot that I have that same day. They call me and leave me a voice message 2 hours before my appointment telling me that it is canceled because the stylist is not showing up. They offered to reschedule for another day, which is ridiculous. When someone scheduled a blowout they need it for that day for a special occasion, you don't reschedule. I went to Ulta yesterday and I received the best costumer service I've experienced at this location. I don't know much about makeup or skin products in general so most of the time I'm going down aisle after aisle trying to look for what I need. Most of the time when I'm here I am not asked if I need help. However, yesterday was different. Dorris came up to me and asked me if I needed help after I was roaming the aisles (which felt like 20 minutes). She was extremely personable, genuine, friendly, and was knowledgeable about every product she introduced to me. She didn't make me feel like she was in a rush. I am kind of in the middle for this location. Sometimes I leave happy, sometimes I don't. I am happiest when nobody helps me here. I am more pissy when they help me. Not once, twice but 3 visits here resulted in lack of help because I asked. One employee who offered to help me, couldnt really help me because she only does "waxing" and was unsure about current sales, promotions, ect in the haircare section. Another employee who offered to help me in the cosmetics section while looking at a specific brand of blush took me to "her contracted" brand to sell me a blush. Free gifts with purchase? Good luck. Not even halfway into day one they were already out of the redken gift with purchase. Yet signs are everywhere promoting it. The cashier said gifts go fast. We came in over the weekend because I was out of foundation and lip gloss. A couple months ago we came in because my daughter is going through chemo and needed help with her eyebrows...or lack thereof. I don't recall the gal's name, but she was extremely helpful. My daughter had all kinds of questions regarding difference in brands and application tips...her first question was, "Which brands don't test on animals?" When I walked into the Tustin store to ask about my curbside pickup, the associate seemed bothered by me. That or she must have been having a bad day. Once she found my order I thanked her and she didn't say a word back to me. I also overheard a customer ask for help with an eyebrow pencil. An associate yelled "what eyebrow pencil do you want" from across the way. The customer said she just needed help with one. It seemed like the associate was annoyed at the woman asking for help and kept being condescending towards her. I've encountered this issue with several of this store's associates, including the lead/manager. They seem to hate being there. I don't want to leave bad reviews but this is my neighborhood store and I want to feel welcome in it. I hope they hire people who actually like helping customers. read more

Second review for this location and pleasantly surprised with the incredible service!! I went in for two specific products but was so pleased with my overall experience. I was initially asked by one associate if I needed help finding something and she quickly showed me to the product I was looking for. Then after learning the second product I was looking for had since been discontinued, I was helped by Sierra to find a new pressed powder. Sierra was so sweet and helpful that I was immediately eager to ask for her help on other products that I was curious to try. She patiently tried multiple products on my face and I absolutely loved everything she recommended. I really enjoyed sitting in the chair and chatting with Sierra. I was so excited to leave with seven new products and then was also impressed by the service at the register with Piper. She was funny and also very nice. If I could give this business a 0 I would. I go into look at perfumes while my mom shops for makeup. I'm browsing. Then come across one I'm interested in. So I look around for my mom to call her to come smell it. I notice a security guard staring at me. Then I make eye contact smile then continue on. There are about 3 other people browsing the perfume, all of different races other than my race. Then I notice security guard walk right over to where I am and stand very close to me while watching me the entire time. I finally call my mom over to stand by me. Concerned that I'm being profiled. Once my mom comes over, he eases up. But still keeping his eye on me. This is the second time experiencing a racial incident with Ulta. You need to do better Ulta. Terrible customer service. I came in during a down time there was only one other customer in the store and they were walking around by themselves. I needed to color match a foundation since I don't wear foundation too often. It's not like I was going to waste their time I would also purchase the foundation. Anyway I was passed around like a football from employee to employee each one saying the next was their color match expert. So I ended up with their in house skin "specialist" and older lady who had absolutely no interest in finding me a foundation and instead pushing her lotions to me. She kept calling my Melasma Malaysia ....yes this is their skin care expert calling melasma Malaysia repeatedly. Any way I let her know after her ramblings that I was only here for foundation and she passed me on the again and ended up with the first girl who I asked for help. Anyway I only realized the foundation she hurriedly matched me with is at least 2 shades darker than my skin tone. Thanks. DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT HERE! I tried to save money by going to Ulta and thought I would enjoy getting my hair done. I was wrong. First off, I had to wait 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment because the stylist was still working with another client (which is really unprofessional). When she finally sat me down I told her I wanted an A-line haircut and she seemed pretty confident in cutting it. Then she took me to get my hair washed but the water was freezing cold. After an hour, another client came and the stylist began to rush by cutting more pieces of my hair because she was 30 minutes for that client's appointment as well. The finished product, overall, was really bad. My hair was very uneven and choppy. The customer service wasn't great either. I got my refund back, but it was only because they weren't willing to fix it and give me my money back. Now, I have to go get it fixed at another salon. It really is better to spend more for a good haircut. I will never use Ulta's beauty services again. read more

She called this other lady (she has a nose ring) over to try and solve the problem. That lady started assuming I'm lying and saying that there's only one price. So, I' went to show her, and she showed me the original price, she then had the nerve to ask me "can you see that? Right there, can you see the price?" Excuse me?! YES, I can see that! RUDE. I then proceeded to show her the "other" price. And told her, this price is lower for the same exact product. She asked me, "are you sure it's the same thing? Let me look." Again, assuming I can't see or now even read a label. That lady was just out right rude, and really should not be speaking to customers that way.
