This was the worst customer service experience ever. Online it clearly states that you can return a product with no receipt. I received a perfume as a present (a $155 retail value at the store). I tried to return it with no receipt, as it was a gift, and the store manager told me with a straight face that she can only give me a $0.34 gift card because that was the lowest price it was sold for in the last month. So I asked how they can sell such an item fur such a price. She said they used points. So my reply was, do I get the points with the $0.34? She said no, I only get the dollar amount. This sounds like it should be illegal and I will be looking in to the BBB and a potential class action. This was completely false advertising of a return policy and I will never purchase a gift for anyone from here. read more

I had the worse curbside pick up experience ever at this location. I followed the instructions to do curbside, checked in, and waited for the employee to come out with my items. There was no reserved parking spot for Ulta so you just tell them the color, make and model of your car and pray to Jesus that the employee finds your car. I thought I parked a bit far so I moved my car right up front at the door entrance to make it easier for the employee to find me. I waited 8 minutes until I decided to call the store number and asked if someone was coming out with my order. Turns out, none of the employees bothered to check the curbside pick up status on their mobile device. I was told someone will would come out right away. A few minutes passed, someone finally came out. Got my items and never looked back. This location left a very bad first impression to me. What is the point of doing curbside pick up if it's going to take 15+ minutes to get your order? Also if I didn't bother to call the store number, would someone ever come out? I might as well have went in the store myself grabbed the items, paid and left. I would have then wasted LESS TIME doing that then waiting for curbside. Terrible customer service. I was never once apologized to for the inconvenience and long wait. Take your business elsewhere!!! read more

Tons of beauty products at the store. Store is well stocked and the ladies that work here are very good at giving good recommendations for makeup. I went in looking for an eyeliner and they helped me find a few good ones for me to try. I purchased Urban Decay as well as Smash Box. This store always have their return policy so if I don't like it or if it causes allergies I can return it. The store manager Carolyn was very helpful in helping me find a day and night look. She also applied a few coupons for me so I even got an even better deal. Definitely will be coming back here again. read more

If I could give this ulta zero stars I would. My friend and I went in 5 minutes ago (Tuesday, 3pm, 10/26) just to buy some makeup and look around, and this older white lady that worked there kept following us. Only us. There were lots of other girls that came in and out of this shop while we were there but she kept following us. Don't know if it's because we were the only 2 Asian girls in the store but we felt very uncomfortable. Because of this situation we don't feel comfortable coming back. read more

I would not recommend this location. I purchased an item online for in-store pickup. After I picked up the item, I received a receipt indicating that I was being charged a higher price for the item--not the price I had originally purchased the item for. I was right down the street when I received the receipt, so I returned to the same store to process the return. I returned to the same sales associate who had, minutes prior, confirmed my order number, checked my ID, and notated my pick up status on the check out sheet. When I indicated I was returning the item, she acted like she hadn't just assisted me with the online order pickup. She asked me whether I had picked up the order from the same store, asked for my order confirmation email and receipt, checked my emails several times, and looked up and down the order check out sheet as if she couldn't find the info indicating that the order had just been picked up. The whole experience of ordering online, picking up the order, and then returning because of the discrepancy in the charging was a waste of time and made more unpleasant by the odd interaction. read more

Terrible, the worst thing that could happen happened. We were invited to a very fancy wedding on Saturday. We had made 2 hair appointments a month before the wedding. We live in los angeles and the wedding was near Orange County. They kept sending us confirmation emails so we thought everything would go on schedule. Friday night we were driving to Orange County when we got a call. They said that the hair stylist got sick so they canceled both of our appointments. As you are reading this you might think wow that is terrible which is what we thought as well. Our appointment was early in the morning and they called at 7:30 pm. Everywhere was closed and we couldn't call in the morning because everywhere was closed. Since we were driving we couldn't check if any other places had availability. All other places of ulta were fully booked. They couldn't help us. They should have at least given us something for this last minute cancellation or gotten a back up stylist. We ended up calling a friend who had a friend that was a stylist. read more

This ulta is always really good to me. There's always clean testers and the store itself is very clean and tidy. Organization is key ! Lots of lights, never seems under cared for. The employees are super nice and their faces look contoured to perfection. I saw a lot of good brow game today. Also flawless skin all around. Major plus that they carry good clean products -- and that their advice won't fail you! Avian saved the day for me today ! She was knowledgeable, kind, and hella efficient. Ok In fact she hooked me up with an Anastasia sample of St. Tropez lip gloss, after I picked up my go to foundation stick in Caramel. How sweet! Made my day, after a long day at work and confusion about the rewards /member system. People like her are so RAD! Came here to shop with a gift card I got for my birthday, everything was easy to find. I loved looking through the clearance section to find goodies. I got to the register and the girl was nice at first. Then my gift card wasn't reading so she started getting a little annoyed. I apologized for taking so long and not having the gift card ready. She just smiled and looked at me. I felt like I was ruining her time. Then finally the gift card worked! I came in as a blank slate (read: no makeup on) to purchase lots of makeup and self care items in preparation for being a bridesmaid! I had a grand idea earlier in the day someone would be thrilled (or at least happy-ish) to help me fill a basket of fun finds for my friend's big day. Daydream shattered. The music is WAY TOOOO LOUD! Turn it off! I can hardly hear myself think. It's excessive. The cashiers have to yell to one another standing at side by side registers. Unnecessary. There was one woman working in the MAC area. I smiled at her and she turned away. She did not even try to invite me to her area. I browsed almost every aisle in the store. Not one interaction from anyone. When I checked out, the lip liner I picked out was scanned and the register told the cashier to return it to the vendor. Another lady instructed my cashier to sell it anyway. When I asked if it was recalled, the cashier couldn't tell me. I bought it and will do my own research before applying. Crossing my fingers it's just a color Ulta has decided not to sell anymore. This review is for Min at the hair salon. I got a color from her recently and was waiting to write the review to see how the color would hold up, and a month later my hair still looks amazing! Min was very patient, kind and listened to everything that I wanted. She was quick and efficient, yet still took the time to pay attention to the client. Next time I will be going to her for a haircut + more color! She is the ONLY hair stylist I trust with my hair now. I have already recommended her to all of my friends & family. Even my mom has gone to her and loved her work! If you want an awesome stylist, go to MIN! The price is awesome and sooo reasonable. Also, I would make an appt if you're trying to get in. I want to give a huge shout out to Charity! She is a stylist Wonder Woman! My hair was previously bleached improperly and was totally uneven. That didn't scare her and I pretty much gave her free rain as far as colors. I wanted balayage and wanted to blend my roots. After several hours my hair looks renewed. I go to Ulta way too many times. However, my go-to location is the one near the District. I was in the area and shopping in other places so I decided to stop by this one with some friends. Horrible mistake. Overall, the store is just like every other Ulta around. However, what disappointed me the most was the customer service. Specifically, we were helped by an employee (who I will not share their name publicly) who was completely useless. She was not wearing any makeup and she shared with us that she was not wearing makeup because she forgot she had work today. Um... okay. Then we asked her to color match our friend to some foundations. We were interested in the new IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact and the NARS Sheer Glow foundations. She literally held up with IT Cosmetics foundation and said, "Hmm, I don't know what this even is. Is this even a foundation?". Uhhhh. I walked away to give my friend space while she worked with her. When I came back, I found out that the employee tried to color match her by swatching shades on her arm. Anyone who knows makeup knows that you should color match based off of the color of your neck. After I brought this up, she said that she would help my friend color match using her neck and face. SHE TRIED TO COLOR MATCH HER BY PUTTING FOUNDATION ON TOP OF THE MAKEUP SHE WAS ALREADY WEARING. When I came back and asked why she didn't remove the makeup my friend was wearing before, she looked at my friend and said, "Oh.... you're wearing makeup already? I just assumed that you weren't wearing any." Listen, it was completely obvious that my friend was wearing makeup. It was so bad. We just said thank to her and figured it out on our own. So disappointing and a huge reminder as to why I have low faith in asking the employees for help. read more

I was about to ask her a question, but she interrupted me saying "I'm off now" in a very rude tone. I would have rated this ulta at least 3 stars, but the customer service here is horrible. I asked him bout the serum and he told me that they did not carry such item and named another serum in stock. He did not bother to show me where I could find product or bother to look. I walked in to do an order pick up and I had a pleasant experience with the cashier who helped me. Afterwards though, I walked through the aisle and remembered I had a gift card, so I grabbed a few more items and walked over to pay. When I handed a different cashier my gift card she was pretty dismissive and she slid the card and simply said it doesn't work. Which was weird because I knew I hadn't used it yet. I asked if maybe she could type it in manually and try it that way and she rudely said no you have to call customer service. She didn't ask if I wanted to pay another way, she just looked at me which by that point was in disbelief and i just walked away. I thought it was weird my gift card didn't work so I the next day I went to a different Ulta location told the employee the situation and she apologized and checked the balance and said my gift card was fine and doesn't know why the other cashier wouldn't take it. I ended up using the gift card and was super happy the cashier at the Orange location was able to help me. read more

This store is FORCING people to sign up for the reward program!!!! Transaction Date: 02/16/19 Transaction #616 Cashier: Jessica I purchased a hairspray and the cashier asked for my phone number for rewards. I advised that I did not have one. She then proceeded to look down at the previous customer's receipt and entered their phone number on her computer. I point to the receipt and ask her "Did you just enter that person's phone number??" She said "Yes. You don't want the points?" That is not my phone number and I don't even know that person!!!! She removes that random person's phone number and says "Ok. This is going to be FINAL SALE" I question her. "I have to sign up for the rewards program in order to be able to return something?" She says "Yes. Its really really difficult to do any returns without the rewards program. Its a free program." I DON'T CARE IF ITS FREE. I DO NOT want to sign up! The manager walks by and I tell her that it makes no sense that I HAVE to sign up for the rewards program just to be able to return an item. She tells me I don't have to sign up. I tell her that the cashier just told me the item would be FINAL SALE if I didn't sign up. Cashier flat out denies this. SAME EXACT THING happened a few day earlier: Transaction Date: 02/11/19 Transaction #616 Cashier: Sabrina I purchased a different hairspray and the cashier tells me that I have to sign up for the rewards program if I want to be able to return the item. The manager is right there and says "No. You don't have to sign up. You just have to keep your receipt" I understand that there may be some push from corporate to get people to sign up for your rewards program, but you need to educate your store associates. You can not be telling customer that items are FINAL SALE if they do not sign up for the rewards program. Screw this place! Both hairsprays are being returned! read more

I feel this Ulta Beauty location for over the phone customer service deserves a 1 out of 5 stars. This review is about my experience today with a phone call I was making to book a hair salon appointment. This review has nothing to do about the walk-in store experience since I have only been to this store once and it was a brief visit. I know there are always positives and negatives with every person's experience in a store location. This is just my review of a situation that I felt should be shared. Today on 9/16/14 I called this specific Ulta Retail Store to book a hair appointment at their salon. I hear the prompt and hit the button for the salon to book an appointment. After a few rings it will go to elevator music and machine voice saying the typical thing of "Thank you for holding. Your call is important to us..." etc. After 10 minutes on hold I start to wonder if anyone is going to pick up. I start to get more impatient at around 15 minutes. Around 20 minutes was when I started to question if the store was even open. I actually googled the store hours to make sure I was calling at the right time of store businesses. I didn't get a single person on the phone for 28 minutes and 46 seconds. Yes. It almost took half and hour for a person to pick up the phone. I was astonished at how relaxed they were about picking up the phone. I immediately asked to speak with a manager. The employee paged the manager and they picked up the line. I then go over my feelings of having to wait 30 minutes and the manager brushed it off saying "Well I am sorry. We only had 3 employees in the store. Do you want me to book your hair salon appointment?"I was shocked about her attitude about the situation and felt like she brushed off the situation. I don't think having a customer waiting for someone to pick up the phone for half an hour is appropriate at all. It was so disappointing to see the manager's attitude about my experience. I totally get stores can get busy but most people will pick up the phone and ask the person if they can place them on hold. Ulta is one of my favorite stops to pick up beauty supplies. Sure, I shop at Nordstrom and other stores here and there but overall, my cosmetic shopping has always been at Ulta. Who doesn't love the coupons and the points you earn? I did call the Ulta Customer Service phone line and they assured me someone would reach out to me within 48 hours to go over my experience. I totally get things can happen but when I feel other people do not try to understand how I feel during a situation it can be very upsetting. Because of this experience I question Ulta's management team and training for their employees at the Jamboree location. People can have a bad day here and there but the ball was dropped by the employees for neglecting the phone call and the manager for brushing off a situation that I feel is unnecessary. Came in ready to spend money, left ready to spend that money elsewhere. I needed to restock some of my makeup but had some questions. When I walked in, there was plenty of staff standing around, but no one greeted me. I found the brand I was looking for but was lost at the point and had a few questions. I had noticed when I walked in that Ulta employees were actually in the section I was looking, but when I looked up and down the make up section, aside from someone helping a woman put on her makeup, no one was in sight. I waited and browsed thinking maybe they were busy. That's when I noticed 4 staff standing next the registers chatting. I headed over to ask for help but stopped as another customer walked up, said "excuse me", received the most annoyed sounding "yes?" followed by a huff and an eye roll. She walked out the door empty handed and I followed right behind her. Someone needs to bring some customer service to this place! You can carry ever product from A to Z but what makes people buy stuff is how you treat them :) read more

Some shady stuff is going down at this store. As another reviewer mentioned, I was also told that by not signing up for the rewards program that I couldn't return my makeup, even with a receipt. I declined anyways, garnering an eye roll and major attitude. Came back some time later and a sales associate steered me away from some crappy products, which I was happy about. I have never gotten my hair professionally done, and I was ready to go all out on it, cut, color, blowout, you name it. I had made an appointment 3 weeks in advanced, rearranged my schedule for it and all. I get a call saying my appointment has been canceled while I was on my way, less than 20 minutes before my appointment. I understand call outs happen but not having anyone else available for these types of scenarios, especially on the weekend is absurd. First time experience wasn't a great one to say the least. This review is only 2 stars because Ulta carries Morphe and Colourpop. If not for that I'd give 1 star. I'm going to sound just like the other reviews, because the customer service here is atrocious. Each and every time I have visited this store I've been ignored, dismissed and left feeling like the employees would rather gossip and complain than help customers. To this matter I've heard a manager complaining pretty loudly to staff on duty about other employees. (Trash talking your employees is always classy.) Generally speaking the store is messy and any time I've asked a question about a product or launch I've been treated like a bother. I called the store today regarding a launch and was not only given completely wrong information, but practically hung up on. I really hope upper management steps in and retrains store employees and managers on proper customer service. Over the last 2 years Ulta has gotten worse and worse. It has become the DMV of makeup stores. Sephora is literally right across the street, and I'll be taking my business over there. read more
