This review is for the unfriendly/uncaring service I received on Black Friday weekend. I interacted with 4 employees here and received VERY BAD service. I eventually was helped but dealing with the employees was not pleasant. The workers here are uncaring, dismissive, and provide unkind service. Problem #1: I stopped by to make a fast return. I went to the register and told the girl (Sarah?) I accidentally chose a wrong item earlier in the day and would like to return it. She tells me they are "having trouble with returns. It's not working right. You should take it back to the place you bought it from." in a very uncaring way. I was a little shocked to be honest. Telling me to go to another location instead of offering to help me..? Weird. I told her the other Ulta I bought it from is too far away, why I can't I just return it here? I then offered to do an exchange because I figured they are likely worried about making their sales quota for the day and I was planning to buy more stuff anyway. She said it "probably won't work right." I said since I'm here I'll just give it a try. She pointed me to the product which was helpful but never smiled once and wasn't nice/cheery at all. I get it, it was like 6:30pm but still a little care and consideration would have been nice. Problem #2: I went to shop around and I ask another Ulta associate if she can point me to the Mario Badescu aisle. The girl looked very confused and obviously did not know the answer, but instead of telling me that or getting help she said "Um um. We only have Mario Badescu travel size that are really small anyway. You probably don't need those." I said "ok thank you" and left. But I KNOW for a fact they have NORMAL SIZE items here so I don't know why she would even say that. I searched and guess what I found? The Mario Badescu aisle with NORMAL SIZE PRODUCTS. lol. WHAT THE HECK. Maybe this is why they're concerned about sales tbh. Unprofessional and not helpful. Problem #3: I was super happy to find a perfume set I wanted to get here with the free robe gift. When I went to the register I was happy to see they had 5 robes on the post. 3 white and 2 brown. I asked the girl, "Oh nice you guys still have robes? The Ulta I went to earlier was sold out." She said NO that they didn't have anymore robes. I look over to the OBVIOUS FIVE robes on the stand. I pointed and nicely said "What about those robes?" She said, "No those are done." DONE WHAT? There's 5 of them. I decided not to buy the perfume anymore because of this. PLOT TWIST TELL ME WHY Problem #4: the manager pulls up a register next to us and tells the man who bought a perfume "Ok you have your choice of a free robe or throw with your perfume" and she points to the robes the other girl JUST SAID "WERE DONE". LOL WHAT. She was offering the same robes the girl at the register just said that I couldn't get. LOL SERIOUSLY? How annoying is that? Apparently I was lied to about the robes. lol. The man picked a throw blanket so there was still 5 robes when I left. Problem #5: The product I got was not the right item, so the cashier calls an Ulta employee to look for it. WELL the girl NEVER came back. Mind you, you can see the aisle where the product was the girl literally just LEFT. LOL. WHAT. The cashier grabs a 2nd girl and asks her to help since she "sent America and doesn't know where she went" LOL. The girl America didn't even help just left somewhere else, the aisle was right next to us and the cashier even pointed to it. BRO. lol. I'm telling you the workers here don't even want to help you at all, it's so BIZARRE. Problem #6: The manager comes to help and says we can do an even exchange. I said my return is worth more. She says she will honor the online price ok cool but I should still have another $10 back in that case. She was doing the transaction and said "Why isn't this working?" The associate said "It's points" Frustrated the manager says loudly "ITS POINTS?!??" Clearly she wasn't happy for whatever reason. They were not happy about me using points here and it was very weird +uncomfortable. When the whole transaction was finally done, they did a return + they honored the online price so thank you! She tells me my total is $24 I said I would like to use my points, she sighed and was surprised.. "Oh your points" YES my points I have $64. It's not like it's $3 girl. Problem #7: she tells me I can "only use $23.50" worth of points when I have literally had $64 worth in there. I've been shopping at Ulta for over 10+ years. There is NEVER a point usage limit to use. Weird. Another problem #8: I heard the Ulta employees talking badly about customers talking about "You want to argue? I love to argue" I get we're all human, but on the floor where everyone can hear? UNPROFESSIONAL. I won't be coming back here. Most Ulta's have nice, helpful employees not like this location. The atmosphere felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, with a strong "mean girl" vibe throughout the store. Honestly, it seemed like a difficult work environment, and as a customer, that negativity was very noticeable. I brought my concerns to the manager, hoping they would be addressed, but she appeared uninterested and unconcerned. Unfortunately, the lack of leadership and accountability was evident. Given the manager's response, it's not surprising that the staff behaves in such a rude and unprofessional manner. I went into today for a signature haircut and scalp treatment with Susan. She was amazing made me feel comfortable and really nice. This was my very first time at the Ulta salon and to top that off, my first time with a new stylist. I was very timid and didn't chat too much. But I came in with a plan for my hair and I showed Susan my reference photos. She went above and beyond and did an amazing job. I want to say that one of the Filipino female employees at this Ulta did a great job helping shade match me for a new Ulta shade concealer. unfortunately, I do have reasonable suspicion that there was some type of contamination that occurred in between her helping her previous client and moving on to me. I visited around 4/5pm on Saturday 11/16/2024 and got pinkeye on my right eye on Monday 11/18. This was bacterial pinkeye that ended up spreading to both eyes and worsened over time. I'm still finally recovering. Even though she helped me to find the right shade and was kind, I hope Ulta employees can do a better job of maintaining hand hygiene and sanitizing carefully in between assisting clients. On Thursday, I went to Ulta to do my hair, provided hair color that my cousin gave me (pravana brand), and told them to do root touch-up; she finished it up everything I told them the services that I wanted to be done. The next following day, my hair became very sticky to my pillow that I had no choice, but to wash it and my entire neck, ears, and face turned blue. I scrubbed as much as I can, only my face was the only 1 that I can fully remove; my ears and parts of my neck is still blue. So I went today to at least get a partial refund, but they basically said that they can't do anything about it because it was my choice of color and it'll take a couple of washes to remove as much of the dyes in my body.
