I was looking for a color match with a better brand BUT they had half of the stock and nothing in my color range. The person was a little snarky. I just walked away from the meanness. Went in for a quick stop to get some lip gloss. Initial entrance wasn't as friendly as the other Ultas but I figured they might've been busy with daily duties. My issue is when I headed over to pick up the lip glosses and waited for the check out clerk to call me over. When I was called over I greeted the employee Nyla and was about to ask her a question regarding hair products for a future visit. She immediately cut me off and asked if I had a phone number, I gave her my information and proceeded to try and ask again regarding the hair products and again she had cut me off asking if I wanted a bag. I let her know I didn't need one and tried asking a third time but she just walked away. I decided to give up and would instead try a different location as it seemed she did not want to be there. I'll still shop at Ulta but will be choosing a different location going forward. read more

Almost all the displays are filthy. Testers are either empty or smeared or gross. It looked like an abandoned store. No one seemed in a mood to help. I wanted to try a lip liner but it needed to be sharpened, when I asked an employee for a sharpener or if she could sharp it for me, she said, "we don't have a sharpener" and walked away. Booked a hair appointment with Chelsea two weeks prior to my appointment. Got a call 45 minutes before my appointment saying Chelsea didn't show up for work and they don't know if she's going to or not. I came in store because I was having trouble with receiving my order and contacting somebody through the customer service support number Was unsuccessful in helping when I first called. When I came in a manager by the name of Lily was super helpful and helped me get my order taken care of in store after she tried her best to contact the customer support for Ulta. I definitely think some improvements are needed for online support with orders but as far as the customer service in store, it's wonderful! She was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable about everything Ulta and made me leave with a smile. Give that woman a raise! read more

Crooked company! False advertising! At the check out and all registers they advertise if you open an Ulta credit card, you can get 20% off your purchase and more points. After they collect all your personal and financial information, then the cashier (and manager) tells you "you have to wait for their bank to approve your application and send you a card in the mail"... so it's not instant and no discount on your purchase nor can you put anything on the card. Had we known, we would not have taken the time or bothered to apply! We hardly ever shop there anyway but thought we would use the discount to save money. Now weeks later their bank (Community bank and archaic company) sends a letter to call them to complete the application process or else in 15 days they will disqualify the application. Who the hell dose that these days. No discount, no credit.... NO BUSINESS. Will never shop Ulta again. read more

Worst ulta I have ever been to. Went in to smell new perfume and when i went in some of the workers were at the station where the perfume was smelling the perfume which was no big issue with me i just stood there on my phone waiting till they were done. One of the girls, Alexa, turned around and looked at me and said "do u need something" in the rudest voice ever. I said "I just wanted to smell the new perfume" she then walked away and looked at her coworkers throwing her hands up and rolling her eyes and the coworkers proceeded to laugh. It's ok You can sell something to me please. Asked for a sample cup at register after making my purchase and sales rep was clueless as if she never heard of one before. I end up looking for the Person I'm not sure if she was the manager or not but her name was Nancy no help at all asked for a sample cup because I wanted to try the new Studio Fix foundation, I'm not sure if "sample Cup" is a word that is forbidden however she wasn't eager to give me one , Instead of asking about what I would like to sample, and the reason why it's a good product and what she would recommend to go with product etc..it was a "here". Also I noticed all the foundations where pretty nasty where the pumps are and the station. Instead of having all your Sales reps behind the counter , it would be nice to have them keeping the live Merch Clean and also greet , because store looks like it's a lot that can be done besides not greeting , low energy store Very disappointed. read more

I've been coming to this location for years, but this review is specifically for a recent visit. I had made an online purchase for in-store pickup. When I arrived at the store, I had my order pulled up on the app but was asked for a photo ID - which is fine. Except I forgot to bring my driver's license with me (don't worry, boyfriend drove that night, not me). The gentleman at the register said he couldn't release the order to me without a photo ID. Well, I found my Student ID from CSULB, but that wasn't good enough for him which I thought was weird. I mean I get it. Many places require a government issued ID, but to pickup an order from ULTA? If I had the email confirmation and I had the exact order pulled up on my app (& I had a photo ID!) it should be good enough. Unfortunately, we had to go back home to retrieve my driver's license and return to the store. But, guess what? Someone different was working at the register when I had returned just maybe half an hour later and the order confirmation on the app was good enough for the girl who had taken over the front register. So, we went back to get my driver's license for nothing. It was such a huge inconvenience just to pick up some items here. Because of how much of a hassle this in-store pickup process was, I think in the future shopping in person here will probably be the best way. I've honestly never had this issue with a buy online pickup in store experience at any other retail store that offers this feature. I don't think I will be using that feature at ULTA any more. read more

I am not a regular Ulta shopper so the only time I really come here is when my BFF gives me her list of things she wants. This particular visit was for a sale that they were having, and the one item I wanted was a really good deal.. I think it was the Hangover primer at less than 50% off. So the Anaheim location didn't have any more, and would not lift a finger to help me located more stock. I remembered there was this location and called, and the girl said they had "plenty". I came here an hour before closing on a Saturday. There were 2 cashiers and 1 person working the floor. I asked the one girl to help me with a product, and she hesitated. She finished with the customer she was helping and then helped me find a product to reduce the puffiness under my eyes... which cost me $40 (hope that was a good deal). I really wanted more help getting a new foundation but I didn't want to tie up her time.. so I paid for my stuff. The cashier was quick and to the point, like she needed us out of the store on time. I still don't know if the product the girl suggested was the best one... but I guess the puffiness disappeared after a few uses. Was it worth going here for the 50% off my primer? Yeah I guess so... i use it every day and really like it. They need more help and more helpful people. read more

I'm very disappointed with the way i've been treated here. I got a haircut with one of the stylists at this location and I was very specific with what I wanted , which was to cut off a quarter of an inch of my hair. I had been growing out my hair for the past year taking supplements to help grow it out since it was very damaged and I explained to the stylist my hair History and I told her I would like to only cut a quarter of an inch and make my bangs a little bit shorter. Throughout the whole process she kept pointing out how my hair is very dead, making comments like "wow i've seen everything in the hair world" , "hair is very dead" which I was fine with when she made the comment the first four times but when it was consistently being said throughout the appointment, I got very uncomfortable and embarrassed. I went to get a haircut to make myself feel better, but instead, I came out feeling worse. When she was done with my hair, I noticed how short my hair was, when I mentioned it to the stylist, she brushed it off and said that she cut what she felt what needed to be cut . She cut off 3-4 inches of my hair... I asked for the bangs to be to my nose which then came out to a little bit longer than my eyebrows. I mentioned to the stylist repeatedly that I wanted it long which she agreed to do. I was in shock the whole time, went to the front to pay for my hair even tipped her then went home. I called the store the following day to make a complaint, I explained the story which the first manager apologized to me about and passed the phone to the store manager, which is Maria. she didn't agree to the refund at first, but after explaining it further, she then allowed me to get a refund which I had to come into the store for. I went to the store today to get my refund in hopes of someone apologizing to me and being sympathetic towards me, which, surprisingly I did not get. I asked for maria, she did not greet me or apologize and I decided to show her the picture of my hair the same day before getting it cut and told her to look at my hair now which she just looked at me and said "uh huh" . This is all very disappointing, she looked at me as if I was being dramatic or overreacting about my hair, i deserved an apology for the mistreatment from the hairdresser which i never got. I have been a loyal customer to Ulta for over 7 years. I've never experienced this treatment before. I hope when you read this, you realize that what you did was wrong and that you shouldn't treat your customers with passive aggression or rudeness. Ulta please do better. read more

The sticker looks like it's on a clearance sale. However , they refuse to give me the sale price saying their SYSTEM had it at the original price. Well, register lady, I'm sure someone forgot to update that sh. Instead, she simply said customers change the sticker prices, system is always right and that that the customer is wrong. Overwhelmed mom lectured by smug register clerk. Was picking up makeup for my daughter for her upcoming dance competition. I was alone w 2 toddlers in tow so already a stressful trip. Got to the register and the clerk named Daisy had to ask me for my phone number 3 times bc she could not hear my # correctly. So I successively said it louder each time she asked me for it. Meanwhile my 1 kid is grabbing at the cart of minis they keep by the line and the baby is heading towards the door. She asked me for it AGAIN and: Me: "ok, does it matter? I don't need the points I'm in a hurry and gotta get out of here with my kids" Daisy: "ok you don't need to be rude" Me: "OK, I' m not frustrated w you, I'm just in a hurry and my kids are running around." Daisy: yea buts it directed at me Me: you'll understand when you're a mom Daisy: "Yea, and I won't be rude to people" At which point her manager stepped in and told her to back away. OK first off, read the situation. If u see a parent who is trying to keep your store from turning into a finger paint mural, maybe just let the person pay and be on their way. 2nd:people, especially parents, experience stress which can affect their tone. If they explain it's not at you- maybe don't add to the stress by lecturing the person and making them feel shittier in an already overwhelming situation. 3rd: have a little sympathy.
