    Cheese rose oolong tea
    Dorothy N.

I didn't go here for any food...wanted to give their teas a try...and must say their tea was pretty decent! I got the cheese rose oolong tea. It was a good sweetness with really good flavor. It seems a but pricey at first but technically it's not too bad for what you get! If I am ever craving this foam cheese and rose oolong tea I wouldn't mind stopping by here again.

I've ordered food from the Spicy House several times and most of them were mediocre. But I kept visiting there because there's no other spicy food available in Malden area. My most recently visit was to buy a mala tofu skin(麻辣腐竹), which I was shocked how overpriced it was. Seven dollars (pre tax) for this tiny portion of tofu was unreasonable in Malden area. It's way much more expensive than the food in Chinatown area. And the most disappointing thing is, the tofu was not flavored enough, which happened to my previous orders like 麻辣拌&麻辣烫. The only food I enjoyed there was the spicy chicken feet and it was really tasty that feels like authentic spicy Chinese food.

If you like spicy food, this place is amazing. The "Ultra Spicy" category is spicy. Your mind tells you to watch out for that spice, but you will want more. Their fruit teas are a must to experience. They also come in cool "Hello Master" cups to satisfy you devilish ego. :)

Horrible service....i asked about ingredients... that guy ignored me and say he didn't know.... and they don't take credit card on drinks... not worth for the cheese smoothies...$6+tax... the cheese taste terrible... more like frosting cream... no cheese taste at all...i won't buy again... their skewers are tasteless and cold...i guess it was undercooked.... cold noodle was bad... everythg there just not worth the try...

    Spicy sauce potato chips

The food we ordered were in my opinion was below average. Spicy sauce potato chips was half boiled. It was crunchy.

I forgot how swanky looking the place was, and that still impressed. -- Egg Rolls: Cradled in a wicker basket, crisp on the outside, celery, and pork on the inside, a bit dry, but good flavor. A little above average. -- Spare Ribs on the bone: Painted on every surface with a nice char to complement the glaze. A thicker cut than most. Just like last time, they looked like a reheat, but still had very good texture (tender, moist) and decent enough flavor. Above average. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong: A trio of thick patties flooded with light brown sauce. Good crispness underneath. Soft and tender with big chunks of pork that wasn't dried out. Good overall flavor from the fry, the onions, and the pork, as well as the sauce. Near-elite to elite. -- Kung Pao Chicken: A little different here, with much larger shreds of chicken, a little darker than most, less celery and peanuts than most, a profusion of peppers, and pleasing spiciness to the soy-based sauce. Very enjoyable. Above average to well above average. -- Peking Noodles: A little different, and in a good way. More of a fine shred than a crumble, much spicier, and a little gloppier. Good feel to the egg noodles. I don't get this dish often enough to compare, but I enjoyed it. No OMG moments, but no complaints. Solid lunch, flavorful entrees, and I departed with a higher opinion than before. Upping to 4 stars.

The space is decently sized but not huge so expect a wait on the weekend. On a Saturday at 11 we were quoted a 30 minute wait for 7 people but only ended up waiting maybe 15 or so. Highlights: - beef chow fun (dry) - great wok hei flavor and they didn't skimp on meat. - pan fried turnip cake - crispy on all sides vs. just top and bottom that you usually see. Cut thicker too so you get more of the soft inside. - beancurd sheet roll with pork and shrimp - tender and flavorful. The sauce they have on the outside is delish and the beancurd texture was nice. - taro puff with pork - light and crispy on the outside. The taro itself was soft and custardy. It didn't eat heavy even though it's deep fried. Just ok: - steamed rice roll with shrimp - sauce was just ok and the rice roll was a little thick. - Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce - the sauce was very thin. I'm used to a thicker more flavorful sauce that holds to the broccoli better. But the broccoli was cooked well. Service really left a lot to be desired. We constantly had to flag people down and they really made it feel like we were bothering them. They missed an item on our order and it took a while for them to correct it. Only street parking but it's not hard to find a spot and it's only $1 an hr.

Friendly service. -- Chongqing Style Spicy Chicken: The classic dish with as many red chile peppers as bite-sized chicken nuggets. Smaller pieces than most, but crisp without being dry, and full of flavor even beyond the spice. Solid. -- Crispy Fried Pork W/ Sweet Sour Sauce: This isn't your daddy's old school Chinese American sweet and sour, and that's a good thing. But first, the pork: thin, flat slices with an even thinner batter reminiscent of tempura-- so light and crispy it crackled like broken glass. The sauce had syrup consistency, golden color instead of the old school red, and more sour than sweet. A spectacular dish if you like sweet and sour, and a good one even if you don't. -- Sautéed Pork Belly with Hot Pepper: Firm slices of pork with so little fat you can eat the whole thing without inspection. The hot peppers weren't so hot, so while this was enjoyable as a simple pork and vegetable dish, it had no spicy flavor pizzaz suggested in the name and evident in similar examples elsewhere. On the other hand, it did have pleasant black bean flavor. -- Sautéed Shredded Beef With Long Horn Pepper: Numerous slivers of tender beef with more of an understated thin gravy than sauce, with the peppers crisp but not that peppery. Mild but substantial. Bonus points for all of the following: - The server coming back and double checking to make sure we still wanted a dish we ordered after letting us know it was cold. - A tablet on the table with the menu showing photos of every dish to assist in ordering decisions. - A municipal parking lot across the street. - Cute branded takeout bags.

We usually park at Stop & Shop and walk over instead of wasting time looking for street parking. They did a little bit of remodeling and the place is very spacious. The service was wonderful. Our waters were always full and the staff are all so pleasant and helpful. My family doesn't eat too spicy, but our serve gave us some recommendations, and they were all very good. My favorite was the braised Japanese tofu and the sweet & sour fish. They debone the whole fish while maintaining a beautiful presentation on the plate. It was fried perfectly and didn't come out soggy even with the sauce on it. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.
