Good AYCE sushi spot. I've been here a few times, and their portions used to be bigger for their nigiris. The fish to rice ratio was fantastic, but it appears that they just make it in a smaller scale now. The host will tell you the wait time is between 35-40mins, but it was about an hour. There are no benches in the front available for waiting. The front is a bit small for waiting patrons to congregate. Too bad there's no way to make reservations. You can only add yourself on the list. They do not like to crank up the A/C here. In fact, there's a big fan next to the bar that was moving. There's plenty of seating for a small space. They definitely figured out how to maximize the small space with plenty of seating, though the wait times are still a lot. I would've recommend this place for a large group. Price was reasonable for a good AYCE menu. We ordered pork belly, and that came with two hefty pieces with good sauce. I like how you have the option to order half rolls so you can try a variety of them. The uni tasted fresh for an AYCE spot. Actually, the uni was pretty good in general. Like most AYCE places, you can only order 1 of these per person. All the apps and nigiris tasted great. Foodwise, this place has a good AYCE menu. There is nothing extraordinary on the menu. Just typical AYCE sushi.

The hype is real. This really is a great AYCE Sushi spot. Will be coming back for sure. It's a real good deal especially if you come for lunch on weekdays. Service was excellent. We ordered and our food came out pretty quickly. Was able to get about 4 or 5 rounds of sushi in. I would say the nigiri is the best way to get your moneys worth. The fish to rice ratio is perfect. Only issue with the nigiri is that unless you get plain salmon, tuna, etc. the sauce they put on is mainly ponzu. The ponzu sauce they have is great but after a while I need something new. The couple rolls I got were good. I really liked the spider roll and salmon skin roll. The lemon salmon was also great. The salmon carpaccio was a little too sweet for my liking. The restaurant is a decent size. I did notice that the trees inside were collecting a lot of dust especially on the back wall. The tables are pretty close together so be prepared to make some new friends. It's a pretty chill environment and can't wait to go back and try different items.

A small excerpt of our order: seared lemon salmon, salmon/salmon belly nigiris, ikura, masago, The Shit, etc.

I'm not local to the area, but when I'm in town-my parents seem to gravitate to taking my brother and I here. Assuming you coordinate your order(s) with your table and don't order rolls with a lot of rice, it's totally doable to get a great bang for your buck here! We ordered an array of items such as the nigiri, baked green mussels, oysters, edamame, mini udon, baked scallop roll, yakitori skewers, The Shit, Umami Special, and plenty more! Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. It helps a to have a server that's personable and attentive. We're so thankful for her taking such great care of us! Ending up on the waitlist (20+ min for a table) is almost a guarantee here, rest assured Umami is definitely worth it.

Umami is my favorite AYCE sushi restaurant! I love coming in for their lunch AYCE, the price is just right and you can be seated fairly quickly! If you visit during weekends, expect at least an hour wait during peak hours. My personal favorites are the Lisa Lisa, Sexy Girl and garlic tuna nigiri. For appetizers I order the spicy garlic edamame and veggie tempura. The staff is extremely friendly, and the service is quick! They try to have as much seating as possible in a small space, so it can get quite loud. But overall it's a comfortable environment.

Came here for the first time instead of going to my usual spots. Glad a found it. Nice salmon nigiri varieties. May favorite was the smoked paprika salmon. The different skewers were also really good but you were limited to just one. That was kind of a downer. But they were definitely really good. Service was great, waitress was very friendly and on the ball. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and are craving some sushi

I believe this is the sister restaurant to Sushi Neko. I put my name on the list and waited, and waited for a really long time. Well I know a party of 1 isn't good for a restaurant as far as space they had many opportunities to seat me earlier instead they made me wait. When I was told 3 parties were ahead of me they seated seven. Now for some people it isn't easy to go it alone at a restaurant we can at least be treated better. Seated in the corner next to the bathroom, lovely. Off my soapbox. The food was good and a nice bang for your buck. I did enjoy my lunch and my waitress which is why I gave a better rating. That's all.

Honestly we can never get enough of this place - we LOVE everything about UMAMI! The food is always served expeditiously, the service staff are always accommodating and the ambiance is upbeat and friendly. No overly loud music. Tables are set a little too close but still a great sushi restaurant! The $34.95 all you can eat is very appetizing. We usually go a la carte in the lunch hours instead. Free Parking! 24oz Beers! Highly recommend

Umami sushi is delicious and super fresh! Always a little busy but the quality is so worth it, with friendly staff and a really nice ambiance and decor!

Finally got a chance to take my son to this place. I'm kind of sad because he wasn't like amazed like me. He gave it a 8 out of 10 compared to all other sushi places he has been to and he's truly is a sushi lover however it was an hour and 30 minute wait it was very crowded very loud but I have one question the last time I came I asked for hot water with lemon mine! That's what I drink and it wasn't a problem.. I don't drink cold water. I drink, hot water and lemon the waiter told me she could not serve me hot water and lemon this visited and couldn't even give me an explanation. I'm a little bit confused why I just can't have hot water and lemon so this kinda irritating me a little bit however, the atmosphere is still nice, but can you please give me an explanation, as the last time I checked I am a adult and it's no different than hot tea.

All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada... Two ladies from church (Willie and Blossom) suggested that we meet up for them for dinner at Umami... and we did! We arrived early, found relatively close parking in the shared lot, and got our name on the list. We had about 45 minutes to shop around in that waiting time. When our time was up, we were seated in a booth in the modern, busy environment. Staff were very efficient and brought many, many dishes. It's fun to dine with different people because everyone chose things that were unusual. They knew to get the pork skewers which were amazingly good! Everything was beautiful and delicious! We would enjoy returning!

Close to home for us! And the sushi is always fresh and amazing. Staff are super friendly. I always get a shrimp tempura roll and my husband does the AYCE, the lunch special Mon-Thurs is very reasonable. My favorite sushi spot on the centennial side of Las Vegas.

Last week I was craving sushi so I went with my mom for lunch. We haven't been there in years (since my last review of the place). We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and I was shocked that the restaurant was packed, last time we were there it was almost empty. We got the all day AYCE so my mom could have her uni. We also ordered the sweet shrimp, hamachi kama, salmon belly... amongst other things. Everything was fresh and tasty. The stand outs were the calamari skewer, the seaweed salad was good, seafood salad, salmon belly oh and the coconut shrimp was tasty. It was so good that my mom and I went back for lunch this week... this just might become our weekly lunch date place. The pricing is very fair and it's not super far from our place. Wins all around

It was about 80 mins wait for a party of 7 on a Sunday evening at 7pm. For AYCE, I like how they don't limit how many dishes you can order per order. Boy we were starving. Everything tasted fresh and good. Food came out extremely fast. And didn't even have time to take photos. They don't want you to waste rice but at the same time they don't really have that many options without rice. It would have been nice if you can just order sashimi. They can limit to how many orders per person like they did for other items like raw oyster and nigiri. For dessert, it was one mochi ice cream per person. Flavors included mango, strawberry, chocolate and green tea.

    Ask the Community - Umami

Are there gift cards offered during the holidays?

For the "All-day" pass of $29.95, does that mean you can go for lunch, leave, and then come back for dinner?

The all day price is for one visit and includes a few more items than the cheaper lunch cost. There is no pass for multiple sittings

Is there a wait-list I can sign up on yelp?

You can only get on the list in person.

Do they serve any protein besides sushi?

Hi yes they had like chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, bulgogi, different appetizers, rices, soups, and more

    Is dessert available?

They gave us little cups of Ice Cream

AYCE and in the menu there are price per item, how come?

Although 99% of patrons order AYCE, you can order ala carte

    When is happy hour?

    Mon-Thur 9pm til close

How much is it a person and is it all you can eat?

Last time I went there which was about a month ago it was $25 per person and it was all you can eat and well worth it.

Can I eat alone in all you can eat?

    Yes

Do you do parties of 10 and can we make a reservation?

The web site says they take reservations, but when you call they do not.

Do they have 'no rice' rolls?

Yes they have a couple of sashimi rolls that are apart of the all you can eat.

What does it include in the buffet?

Includes everything on the menu. Some items (marked) are one per person but rest of the items you can order more than one.

    Do they have uni?

Yes! I had it with quail egg and is was good.

    Do you do reservations?

I don't think most AYCE places take reservations. Just check in and they add you to a wait list.

Do they have gift cards or gift certificates?

    Yes, they have gift cards.

    Hours for New Years Eve?

They are open but hours very depending if it's busy or not

Can I make a reservation online? I can't get through on the phone?

Yes and no. It's not really a reservation. They just put you on the waitlist ahead of time is what I was told. For parties 8+,9+,10+. Depends on who answers the phone.

Is it all you can eat sushi during weekend?

Yes it's AYCE 7 days a week. I highly recommend this place. I come here every time I visit LV. I will start with the limited items first then sashimi then lastly the rows. 😂

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? (Especially check soy sauce, fish sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, batter mixes for wheat, barley, rye & triticale.) I have Celiac disease & have to eat gluten free.

Yes, its all gluten free. Rice doesn't have gluten. I would say avoid the sauces to be on the safe side.

Are to-go orders still 30% off?

Yes if you use the "Check-in" on Yelp.

They offer all-you-can-eat for around $35, which honestly seems like a great deal if you can put down some sushi , but we knew we wouldn't eat enough to make it worth it, so we opted to order à la carte instead. We started with the pork belly, which was actually the only thing we didn't care for, so we ended up sending that back. Everything after that, though, was SO good. The garlic spicy salted edamame was delicious and such a good way to start. We also tried several of their all-day specials--the yellowtail carpaccio, crunchy onion albacore, and seared bluefin tuna--and all three were delicious. Normally the specials are limited to one per person with AYCE, but since we were ordering à la carte, we could order however many we wanted. For rolls, I got the A Little Tease Roll and really enjoyed it. My husband got the Call 911 roll, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say he loved his too . My son kept it simple with a California roll and a cup of rice, which worked perfectly for him. We also shared a lychee nigiri, one of my favorites, and it was super yummy. The ambiance is probably one of my favorite things about this place. It's really fun and feels like somewhere you could come for a date night, but it's still completely comfortable for families. It would also be a great spot to come with a group. The surrounding area looks a little sketchy, so don't let that throw you off. Once you walk inside, it seriously feels like you've been transported somewhere completely different. The restaurant itself is really nice and has such a fun vibe. Definitely recommend checking this place out and trying some of their different sushi rolls and specials. Everything we had (minus the pork belly ) was BOMB. Next time we're in Vegas, we'll absolutely come back and try some more!

Great ambience. Beautiful restaurant. The cherry tree is the perfect finishing touch. Top Sushi absolutely knocked it out of the park. I would give this place six stars if Google would let me. Easily one of the best sushi experiences I've ever had, and I will 100% be coming back.

i was about to hit another noodle then i decided to drive along spring mountain and randomly go…read moreinto a strip mall and pick one... i chose this place as I wanted to eat some rice and check out a sushi boat place after watching daesung (big bang) ate at one of these in japan. well, this was totally different from japan one i saw on youtube. first thing i notice is that this place was packed. 2nd thing i notice is that alot of the tables are all eating noodles... that was intriguing... examining the menu, the ramens are 7 buck.. and the sushi rolls are 10 bucks... watching all the nigiri on the conveyor, i notice there isnt any premium stuff. it was all one price... no toro, no wagyu beef. no uni.... i was thinking if i want nigiri, i should not be here since I can get ayce for like $30 bucks and eat better stuff so i pick a ramen, a roll, one salmon belly nigiri, and a beer... i like the ramen, its kid size... essentially like a cup a noodle.. very good though. the roll was good, a little bit skinnier than typical. still good... i had to get one nigiri from the conveyor, the salmon belly was the best one, 3.50 cheap... the draft beer i actually down it quick.. it was nice on a hot day in vegas... total was 31 with tip.... i think if i didnt do beer, it be like 23 + tip which is same cost as going to a ramen place... funny, im trying to optimize the food cost.. just that there is so many ayce sushi spots like literally every block on spring mountain... just make no sense to do nigiri here... unless u only eat like 3-5 plates... if u going more, forget about it, do the ayce...
