Parking: same plaza as Ranch 99 and other small businesses. Even though it's a huge shared lot, the parking can get pretty full and busy. Especially on a weekend. You order at a kiosk but they have their QR code pasted on the door so you can "order ahead and skip the line." I also noticed that they can take your order at the front. When I arrived, there were 3 other people in front of me. None of the employees offered to take orders up front. But when I was placing an order on the kiosk and another person lined up behind me that's when they offered. Which is weird because they should've taken orders when the line was long. Anyways you just input your number and they text you once your order is ready. I got the "bunny surprise milk tea." It was around $9. It comes with a tiny plush inside the bottom half of the drink. So you're only getting half the amount of the cup which is half the boba straw. You can't pick the plush. I got a hello kitty dupe looking plush. It's a fun concept. I don't think you can exchange it, though it would be cool cause I was hoping for a specific one. I ordered the brown sugar boba and mochi milk tea. I like the flavor of it. Wasn't too sweet and I loved the mochi. Boba was ok, very chewy. I also ordered their fried octopus. Crunchy and had a good spice. It came with a lot and it was even tasty as a leftover (tried it a few hours after receiving the order). Overall I would go back and try out their other drinks. It's to-go only. There's no space inside to sit around. A few chairs and table outside the shop. There's actually an alleyway right next to it with a few benches. I I ordered when nobody was in the store so I figured that my order wouldn't take too long. As you can see in the photo below, I got the regular size white peach oolong milk tea at 2:38pm, light ice. As I was waiting, more and more people came in to order and they all got their 3+ drinks in a timely manner. About a few minutes into waiting, I saw my drink sitting on the counter, not yet finished because the whipped cream on top wasn't ready? The cashier at the front told me that they're making more of the whipped cream because they ran out. This was fine, until it took a total of more than 10 minutes to make. For one drink. I have worked in the boba business myself for many years and I just didn't see any sense of urgency among any of the workers making the drinks/whipped cream in the back. It was extremely slow. A lot of them were pretty much standing in the back pretending to look busy, while so many customers were waiting at the front. I ordered at 2:38pm and it was finally ready at 2:55pm. The drink was sitting on the counter, watering down for 17 minutes. Light ice became no ice. There was no desire on the worker's end to re-make my drink even if they saw it was watering down for over 10 minutes.. I even offered and asked to change my drink (to something easier/faster) because I was in a time crunch. I feel like if I had a customer waiting for a $5.95 drink that wasn't ready for a LONG time, I'd offer to re-make it at the very least because it was 88 degrees inside the store??? Once I got my drink, there was no ice, the drink watered down as well, and the whipped cream wasn't unique or anything like that, so I really don't see why it takes that long. In this economy, if the drink is around $6+, I don't think I'm asking much if I expect it to taste decent...lol I hope that I will receive an explanation on the incredibly poor customer service provided at this location. First time trying ume tea. Honestly never knew they existed until I got a promo from them. They do have several locations in the South Bay so it must be popular. They have a wide selection of fruit teas, blended drinks, boba drinks, and a variety that customizable. One thing I don't love is that on certain drinks they are on the sweeter side and is not adjustable because everything is pre measured. The ice on some drinks isn't adjustable either which is a big negative for me who likes to buy it and drink it later on without it get diluted. The two drinks I tried were the pomelo mango sago and the strawberry matcha. Both were on the much sweeter side than what I would've liked them to be. However, they were pretty tasty and flavorful. They don't have an app but you can order it online for pickup. I appreciate the promos and coupons they send out through their reward program to keep me coming back. Service was friendly for recommendations and prices are average. I don't like that they charge extra for certain customizations and add ons like nondairy milk and boba. read more

My family and I decided to swing by this place after our late dinner around 9:20 PM PST. There was quite a bit of line as it was one of the few boba places still opened late. We ordered three drinks: 1. Dirty Boba Brown Sugar Milk Tea with 50% sweetness. My bf mentioned that the sweetness level was perfect for him. The drink was milky and super delicious. The boba, on the other hand, was way too soft and too big for our liking. 2. Pineapple Pomelo Sago with 30% sweetness. This drink is now my newest obsession. I like the perfect balance between the sourness/sweetness of the pineapple, slight bitterness of the pomelo, and chewiness of the sago. If you are not a big fan of bitterness but still love to taste of pomelo, I highly recommend increasing the sweetness level. I prefer this drink over the mango version because of the slight sourness from the pineapples pieces. 3. Mango Pomelo Sago with 0% sweetness. My mom always get 0% sugar in all of her drinks. She loves the drinks but did mentioned that the pomelo was too bitter for her. Overall, she likes the silky of the drink but would get it again with higher level of sugar. I finally got the chance to try Ume Tea. It was the block over from Koi Palace where I was lunching. It's located at the left side of the shopping center by the corner. It's a small tea place. When you walk in, the kiosk is in front of you. There is only one kiosk so the line was growing. They have a QVR code on the door and on the tv menu. Fortunately, the guy finished up and we made our order. I ordered the brown sugar boba & mochi black milk tea which I liked a lot. My friend ordered the mega fruit family green tea. He said it was fine but too much fruits in the drink. The aesthetics were great too look at. Cute theme. But it wasn't pleasing to men's taste. My friend didn't even want the pink straw. It was the longest one they had that was suitable for his tall drink but he passed on it :D read more

I don't know where Ume get their tea from or if they're some kind of tea alchemists descended from tea heaven but my tie guan yin oolong tastes so exquisite, i have never tasted any oolong like it. Hands down the best oolong ever. The wait was super long but if there are ppl lining up for this place that just says they're just that good. It was all worth it! The store recently remodeled and it's much more spacious now with more seatings available inside. Cute bunny cups for an extra cost are available which was tempting but maybe not today. read more

This was door dashed so I honestly didn't get the poor experience that others got at the shop. So my review is strictly based off my drinks taste - which were really yummy!!! The mango pomelo sago was similar to one of my fave HK desserts, loved that you can do less sweet and all the textures were spot on. The brown sugar was good overall, def. loved the boba, but hated the mocha milk - it was just an odd texture that made it really difficult to drink through the straw. Would opt that out next time. Came here primarily for their Surprise Tea. The tea isn't the surprise part. They have special cups that you'll get a surprise plush. Happy Meal but for milk tea/boba drinkers. I've tried their White Peach Oolong tea drinks and enjoyed it! I usually get it less sweet as well. They also have cute merchandise on the side for purchase. I love UME Tea, this location I've been to several times since July. For me it's very convenient if I'm in the South Bay especially nice as a treat before or after going to Great America since it's only 2 exits down the freeway! The staff here is always very kind, the orders come out fast if I order it when I arrive. The times I ordered ahead even when I showed up a little early the order was ready when I arrived! The drinks are delicious and so is the food, they always give great portion sizes and pack it to the brim which I appreciate! It is a small shop with no seating inside but is still decorated very cute in general, they also decorate for the holidays as you can see in my pictures! They do have some seating right outside which is nice, there's also a lot of other restaurants and a ranch 99 in this lil strip mall for you to shop at too, lots of parking. As for stuff I've ordered: In October I got the Halloween Haunt Oreo Mocha, which has a pumpkin gummy, Oreo "spider", kinda has Frappuccino vibes! You get free Halloween stickers with the drink! They had a cute Halloween photo op in store too! The Meal Set Grape Tea Slush and Popcorn Chicken Rice Bowl for just $12.99, which was an amazing deal I was very full had to save some for later! The grape flavor I wasn't super crazy about but it tasted very refreshing on that day which was pretty hot. Bunny Surprise drink, I had the Oreo boba drink, in the bottom part of it there is a surprise toy you pull out! I love the flavor of that particular drink, it's a go to for me at UME! The prize I got was a "chicken leg" character plush lol. Yesterday I got the Matcha Frappuccino w/Strawberry Jelly, ($6.25) in limited edition Christmas tree cup & scarf, comes with free Christmas stickers, Christmas bag and straw clips! Extra Spicy Popcorn Chicken ($8.95) not too spicy but it adds great flavor, they filled it very high so I saved some for later. I also bought the weekly fantasy teas here which I'm excited to try at home. They have a Christmas tree inside the store I forgot to take a picture of but there is a few trees outside throughout the parking lot which are lit up at night too! read more

Ume Tea has been a current favorite tea place of mine whenever I want something refreshing to cool down, or a little treat after a long work day. I usually go to the Fremont location, but I've heard that the Milpitas location makes better mochi.. so I decided to make a visit today. This Ume Tea is located in a fairly busy plaza. Thankfully, at the time my friend and I hit this spot, it wasn't busy (just a party of two ahead of me). So I didn't think it would take long to get our order. I usually opt for Passion Fruit Orange Green Tea with Aloe Jelly, but this time, per my friend's suggestion, I decided to try something new - the Grapefruit Green Tea + mochi topping (because that's the best part). The thing with this place and almost all the other Ume locations I've been to is that there's very minimal interaction with the employees. You put your order through the kiosk, and they make your order. We probably waited a good 15 minutes and it started getting crowded in the shop. The party in front of us had gotten their drinks by going up to the counter and asking for their drinks since it looked like it was ready. And that's what we did too. We saw that our drinks were ready and asked for it, so I'm not sure they'll call out your order. Either or, I would say although they lack customer service, their drinks make up for it. I opted for Grapefruit Green Tea which is a slushy drink, with 0% sweetness. The mochi as always, was delicious - soft, chewy, slurpable, just can't get enough of this kind of mochi. Was it more delicious than the Fremont location.. I can't be sure. The grapefruit was refreshing and they put real slices of grapefruits in there. The only thing I think could be improved upon is the size of the ice slush. I had thought it'll be like the 7-Eleven slushy size ice, but these were small, but sizable bits of ice that you could bite down on. This was definitely a nice treat for a hot day. read more

The drinks are on the pricey side especially considering that the size of this specialty drink is smaller, but hey, why not treat yourself once and awhile? Also, not everyone is a fan of the drinkable mochi because of the texture but I like it!! Don't be discouraged you might discover something new that you like, too! We ordered drinks for 7 people and the drinks came out in under 10 minutes so I'd say the service is fast.
