Stopped here for lunch and left pretty happy with everything that we got! We decided to go "tapas style" (since we wanted to try as much as possible) and split appetizers which was perfect for two people. Our favorite was the Firecracker shrimp - fried and perfectly breaded shrimp covered in a delicious sweet chili sauce with ranch dipping sauce. The Caesar was a good basic salad, and we decided to add a crab cake per staff recommendation. The crab cake was no frills and didn't mask the natural sweet and saltiness of the crab meat which I appreciated. The least favorite and somewhat underwhelming appetizer was the crabby fries - the thought behind it is good but the cheese overpowered all the crab flavor which was a bit disappointing. And of course because it's beach vacation time, I got a piña colada which was delicious. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. The prices can be a little on the upper end of things (especially entrees), but that can be expected with a seafood restaurant in a beach town. I would definitely stop in for lunch again and recommend for others to check it out as well! read more

Fantastic Food and Service! The Staff was so welcoming and service was amazing. Shout out to Ken! The appetizers were delicious. Great selection of fresh fish and basic pub food options. I actually went twice in the same week. I had grilled mahi tacos the first time and a seafood platter with scallops and shrimp the second time. This place is cool because the food is quality but the vibe is very casual. Kind of a beach, sports bar feel. The first visit there was to watch the World Cup during the day. The bartender was friendly as we enjoyed the many TVs behind the bar. My only criticism would be that the drinks were on the pricey side, but they had a great draft beer selection and it was definitely a fun place to hang out, eat, and drink. read more

My family tried Uncle Ike's for the first time today. Our waiter, Tay, was so friendly and make awesome recommendations. The food was soooo good! I have the Seafood platter - Best crab crake outside of Maryland I have ever had, the Mahi Mahi was perfectly cooked, and the steamed veggies were so flavorable. Ordered the fish sandwich with the salmon cooked medium. The sandwich was delicious and the salmon was cooked perfectly. First and foremost, this business charged a 24.00 take out fee without ever disclosing that was a cost. When the credit card was declined because we were out of state and traveling, the hostess rudely said "why would you order so much food if you don't have the money." Of course when the card was run again, it went through. Even though the order total was over 180, the hostess didn't want to give us extra ranch. I had a lot of great food this week. This was easily one of the best meals of the week. My wife raved about her dinner. Kids raved. My fish and chips were some of the best I have had anywhere. Large perfectly cooked. The inside was moist and tender. My daughter next to me got steak, shrimp and crab cakes. I could see the lump of crab once she got into the cake. The crab dip appetizer with pita was some of the best crab dip I've ever had. I read this place was bit divey. Sure. But I've been to a lot worse than this. We were seated in the middle section indoors, which I would avoid bc of server traffic in and out of kitchen. However the service was also excellent. My good friend and I decided to pop by and this place didn't disappoint. The highlight was the chicken tenders. I was expecting frozen tender but they weren't. They were fresh and SO TENDER. Their menu says they don't serve fries past a certain time, but if you ask they will make them and they are delicious. Excellent fresh seafood. I'm a local but not frequented Ike's, though my local friends love this place. It was some of the best fish & chips, and the other seafood was equally as good -- including mahi and shrimp. We didn't get the fish tacos but they looked delicious. I understand this is a "resort" or "tourist" area and things are way over priced. That being said, Ike's is way too expensive for what you get and the level of service. The food was actually fairly good. The service on the other hand was lacking. If you're gonna charge me $138 for a meal for four ( two burgers with fries, tacos and a crab cake sandwich - Crabby Pattie, lol), please provide better service. We ordered an appetizer and drinks. They brought us the appetizer and before we could ask for napkins and silverware, the server runs away. We had to grab napkins from the bar until we saw somebody again when we got out food. Get our food and have to ask for silverware and more napkins. Get them and never saw the server again until they brought the bill. I'd just appreciate better service if you're going to charge me that much. Side note: refills on drinks are $1.50 each, says so in the menu. We own a house in Corolla and my Sister in law was staying there with her family. Her and her husband which is one of the nicest and friendliest people I know was sitting at the bar. A gentleman approached and ask if he could sit near to them because it is his seat. Her husband tried to strike up a conversation with him but he was rather rude. He was rude and corrected my brother-in-law because he did not pronounce Corolla correctly and come to find out he was the owner. I was wanting to visit this restaurant but the owner made up my mind to spend my money elsewhere. One of our favorite spots we found while visiting Corolla. Driving in off the 4c4 beach, we didn't even have to air up our tires it is so close. It would be hard to order something off this menu that isn't delicious. First of all, get the fried Oreos, yes I'm bringing up desert first so you save room or just start with them. Not the greatest meal we had in the Outer Banks, but it was definitely the only place that could seat our large group without a reservation. So they get points for that. The restaurant is huge with what amounts to big communal tables in the back. There was also a large group eating off of a ping pong table for some reason. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing - I went with the blackened fish of the day sandwich, and it was tuna. Was essentially just a hunk of fish in between two buns. Not really cooked hot enough to be blackened, and didn't get too many of the blackened spices. The sauces were interesting though, kind of an Asian wasabi mayo and a Thai chili blend. Not sure what vibe they were going for. Fries were good though. It seemed like everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals a lot more, so that's worth something. The salmon imperial in particular looked amazing (and at $26, it better have been!). Service was good and they had TVs showing sports. Oh, and they do late night karaoke. I highly recommend Uncle Ike's! We ate here when we were in Corolla & it was great! We didn't have a reservation, but were seated right away. We had the crabby wings & fried pickles for apps and they were so good. My mom and I shared the fish, shrimp, & crab cake dinner and it was amazing. It was definitely a decent portion to share. I don't usually like crab cakes, but this one was fantastic. It really tasted fresh- not the fake crab taste. The dinner came with a nice portion of green beans and mashed potatoes as well. The rest of the table really enjoyed their dishes as well. They had fried fish basket, crab cake sandwich, bacon wrapped scallops, and a salmon salad. I had grapefruit crushes which were so good! They did serve the martinis for the table in plastic cups- but that's our bad- who orders martinis at the beach?! Our server was really good even though he was busy. The food was very fairly priced for good seafood. I also love that they support a Haitian charity. The only thing I wanted that they didn't have was key lime pie for dessert. What a good find on our coastal vacation. We originally had tried to eat somewhere else (we had a party of 9) and the wait was much too long. We found this place had good reviews and a good selection of food for the non-seafood eaters in our group. Our waitress was friendly and and made good recommendations. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops and you get a decent amount for the price. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with Red Pepper Grits and it was fantastic! Spent $70 on dinner here for my family on our first night on the OBX and the food is actually inedible. Green beans that were obviously going bad- brown on the ends. Three quarters of my plate was mashed potatoes. The salmon was overcooked, under-seasoned and I would have been better off eating a piece of cardboard.
