I had high hopes for this place but was sadly disappointed. We walked in with 14 people (which is a lot I know). They told us it would be an hour wait and they would seat us at 3 tables. Great, not a problem. We headed to the bar for some drinks and appetizers. The bartender was great. Very attentive, working his butt off. Side note: I would have given 1 star had it not been for the bar tender. Finally they tell us our tables are ready. We head out to the patio. We sit there for about 20 minutes before anyone stops by to see if we've been helped. Again not a huge deal because they were very busy. Our waiter began taking orders. Mind you we are seated at 3 separate tables. Each table specifically asks for separate checks. (One for each table) We were all together but seated at three table we figured this would be the easiest way. The waiter says "yea no problem we will do it at the end." A little strange to do it at the end but whatever he said he would do it. The food came out and half the groups food was cold. Again with a large group I get it, but if they could have done it by each table we would have had warmer food. No one likes eating cold cooked fish. Up until now things weren't awful, typical for a busy restaurant. But when the waiter gives us the check, not split, and tells us to split it up ourselves, I have a problem with that. I know why he did it, gratuity was included with parties over 6. Each of our tables had less than 6 people. However that is not good service. That is horrible service when we specifically asked ahead of time to split the check. I could understand if we were all at 1 table but we weren't. So he could have split the check like we all asked from the beginning. The waiter didn't care about how poorly his service was, he wanted his tip. My family vacations here regularly and we will not be coming back. The way the waiter handled the situation was not acceptable. If he couldn't split it he should have said it from the beginning. Lying to benefit yourself is not acceptable. All in all, if you go here, don't go with a group over 6. And if they aren't too busy, maybe your food will be warm. read more

Excellent service, seafood was fresh, drinks were delicious. The seafood mac and cheese was a little bland but the rest of the food was very good. The crab cakes were my favorite! Note to management: please consider ditching plastic straws and investing in more glass pint glasses so you don't have to switch to plastic when you run out of glasses. read more

We came here to watch the Eagles game. Lots of parking. No real hostess. Asked the waitress who seated us where the game was playing (we had called ahead). She told me each TV was marked and gave us a table. When our actual waitress came over we asked again and she told us it was playing in a different room. She was very helpful and accommodating. We were the first ones in the room and positioned ourselves at a table where all 4 of us could see the game. As it got closer to game time, more people came in and they decided to move the Eagles game to a different TV in the room. Now the room was full and all of us couldn't see the game. Oh, well, what we're going to do? The waitress was super friendly (Sarah, maybe? She told us but I can't remember) and the food was very good. 30 wings and 8 beers was 66 bucks. Can't beat that! Some reviews said this place was a bit of a dive, and I would agree, but I also got the vibe that this wasn't just another tourist trap place. There seemed to be "townies" there, probably retired folks who live down there for part of the year, they seemed to know the bartenders really well. It gave the place a very friendly feel. The food was really good. I don't think there was anyone at our table of 7 who could find anything to complain about. We got chicken fried chicken, fish tacos, shrimp gumbo, BBQ and Bleu seared tuna, crab chicken sandwich, and one more meal that I can't remember. We also got crabby fries which were very tasty, but paled in comparison to the taste and presentation of the entrees. They do take reservations, but we called in too late to get any. So we just showed up before the dinner rush (about 4PM) and were seated right away. If you want to go during the prime dinner hours though, you definitely need reservations. They said the wait can be up to 2 hours, which is a good sign that this place is reliable and consistent, but not so convenient for those who don't plan ahead. We will definitely be looking to return here next time we are on vacation in Corolla. read more

I'd go again for the crab dip alone. We got the crab dip, the chicken and crab sandwich (very underwhelmed there) and the seafood nachos (I've never been a nachos person, and in all the years we've been married - my husband has never ordered them - but here he did. And he liked them) first of all, the nachos were enough the feed a family of four holy cow. And I was impressed. For the price of everything I was seriously underwhelmed. But I'd return the chicken crab sandwich and the seafood nachos, and keep my bill the same for one more serving of that crab dip. It was honestly that good. I order crab dip at every restaurant I go to because it is one of my favorites. And Ike's has won. It is not over cheesed. It has good, fresh huge chunks of crabs. The perfect scorched top. We stopped in after the Wild Horse tour, and were very glad we did. It doesn't look that appealing from the outside but had stellar food. The seafood bisque was some of the best ever. Ok. Hubby and I were exploring the outer banks area and popped in Uncle Ike's for a bite of lunch. Our waitress was super friendly. I had the crab cake sandwich (but didn't eat the bread) and fries. This may have been the crab cake I've ever had. Read that again. Yep. That good. The fries were shoestring and yummy. Hubby had fried shrimp and fries. This dish is served with a sweet Thai chili dipping sauce that is the bomb. He rarely dips his shrimp in anything and I swear he almost licked the cup. Very fast paced, busy little restaurant. Was told about 10-15 min wait around 7p for 2 of us. Ended up more like 20 but when you hear people walking out saying it was worth it you know it's worth waiting. The hostess was great she was running around crazy and polite with everyone that came through while we waited. Our waiter was Trey G. He had like 4-5 tables maybe more running that I could see but never skipped a beat on his attentiveness and making sure everything was correct at every table. I called 2 days in advance to make a reservation and was told that a party of 7 could not make a reservation (need to be 8 or more) however the staff told me that I would have no problem getting seated if we came in before 5:30pm especially since it was a Wednesday. So we came in at 5pm on the dot and were told that the wait was at least a 40min wait. We have a 10mo old baby, 3 yr old, and 2 other children so we didn't want to wait because it would be melt down city by the time we sat down. So I thought no problem, we can just order carry out and take it home. After 15min of figuring out what people wanted and then waiting to talk to someone at the front desk, sure enough they don't "do" carry out orders anymore. It's really hard for large families to go out to dinner when you can't make reservations. read more

Hard to find a good place that's open for lunch this time of year in the OBX. I was in Corolla and let Yelp do it's stuff for my group of 4 (we wanted something different after spending everyday in the beach house). Great service (they were authenticity glad that we were there!), a rare thing these days. Something for everyone, even for our picky eater in the group. We had a very good meal here- seafood Mac; yellowfin tuna platter, crab cakes - all excellent. 2 nd time splurged on pina coladas - best I've had in forever with fresh juice! Skip the beef nachos - they are bland and no meat to speak of but our 2 male waiters were lots of fun and quick. Table tennis in rear of restaurant and foozball outside ( where's the ball??). Sports bar feel in the front and very casual restaurant in the back. When we stay here again it will be a regular stop. read more

Uncle Ike's was a really great spot that we tried for lunch while visiting Corolla in the Outer Banks. It seemed like everyone around us was ordering the fish tacos, although these looked fantastic, I went another direction. My meal was phenomenal none the less. My wife and I split Firecracker Shrimp and Crabby Wings. You wont be disapointed with either of these choices. If I find myself in Corolla again I would certainly go back to Uncle Ike's.
