We did have to wait a long time because we didn't have a reservation. When we were seated we sat a table that was actually a ping pong table with a tablecloth on top. My family and I ate here while vacationing in OBX and really enjoyed it! The service was great, food came out quickly, and tasted yummy. We started with the firecracker shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops. Both were delicious and would get again. For our entrees we got the crab crake sandwich, chicken crab sandwich, and the fish n chips. The best was the fish n chips because they were not over battered and was mostly fish. The other meals were tasty too! The menu was diverse and would suit people with different tastes. We sat outside which was nice and shaded. We did takeout from Ike's the week before 4th of July. We called at 4:45 and it was an hour before our order was ready but that was fine, since we were on the beach right nearby. We loved this place last year. I even got the same salmon salad. It was a huge portion as you will see but the fish wasn't fresh. The kiddos got the shrimp basket and cheese burger. The burger seemed hand made which was yummy. The shrimp basket had huge fried shrimp with the sauce on the side. Very good. My hubby got the Caesar salad and shrimp appetizer. It was great! I would give it 3.5 stars but you can't don half stars. I just needed that fish to be fresh. read more

We decided to try the food since they have awesome reviews. We went after 5pm and the restaurant was already full with 30 min wait. They don't accept reservations after 4pm... we decided to sit outside but it wasn't fun since it was 90F. Then the food arrived and it made everything better. Fresh fish and chips (huge portion of haddock), amazing crab cake sandwich (nearly all lump crabmeat and broiled perfectly). Even my son enjoyed fresh tuna sandwich which was a special of a day. Definitely will be going back... just with the indoor reservations :-) read more

Looking for a place open for sit down in late May, we ran across this gem. A couple I met in another plaza a couple miles south highly recommended it. I'm glad they did. We came to Corolla just for the weekend for my boyfriends birthday- and I saved for months to be able to rent a house for us and our friends. Went here for my boyfriends birthday dinner to celebrate as he has always come here when he visits the area. Initially it was an outstanding experience very nice staff that interacted with us. While we were waiting for our meals I happened to hear music so I went to investigate. While I was enjoying the live music the bartender asked me if I wanted anything. Feeling bad for standing there I asked for a shot of whiskey. He said a name of bourbon that I had never heard of before (I am not a big whiskey drinker) and I said ok. I asked the waiter to please make sure it was added to the bill. I drank it and went back to the table. We were served our meal and then asked for the check. When it came I noticed a $30 dollar charge for something and asked the waiter what it was- when he told me it was the shot of whiskey I was absolutely stunned!!!!! I could not believe that someone would deliberately take advantage of a patron in that way especially when times are really hard for a lot of people (and restaurants). I felt sick to my stomach and to be honest tears came to my eyes as I apologized to my boyfriend and asked for help to cover the bill. I shared the story with the other 3 couples that joined us and they too were shocked and disgusted about the business practices involved. I was pretty upset about what happened and just wanted to leave so I sat in the car and waited for everyone else to come out. When one of my friends came out she told me that she tried to talk to a manager about how I was treated and was give a $15 dollar gift card. I appreciated the effort however I never plan on going back to this establishment again! I am writing this in the hopes that this never happens to another person. I still feel horrible about this experience after all my planning and after having such a rough year hoping his birthday would be awesome and something to remember. I've been here many times over the years and it remains one of my favorites in Corolla for a casual sports-bar type of place with decent food and drinks. I've had the fish tacos with grilled mahi-mahi, Caesar salad, crabby fries, fried green beans, fish and chips, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and fried chicken... all dishes have been good. The service is usually friendly and welcoming to all types of patrons, including families with children. They make great cocktails too. The prices are rather high, but that's typical for the area. The fact that all menu items seem so overpriced is the only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The food is good, but you do come away feeling like you've overpaid for bar food. Overall though, I would recommend Uncle Ike's... there's a good reason why we usually come here at least once during our vacations in Corolla. read more

They have the best buffalo wings in Corolla. Haven't really tried anything else from here. They seem to have a habit of just not accepting take-out orders when they're really busy. Edit: They do not accept take-out orders on Fridays and Saturdays, and on the days they do, only until 5pm. read more

Uncle Ike's is definitely a little tricky to find. Aside from the big van that sits in the front of the town center parking lot, there were no other signs directing us where to find the joint. When we finally thought we had found the place, we actually second guessed going in because the door had a big "for rent" sign on it. Turns out, this was for an upstairs apartment. I'm glad we braved pulling on the door handle. There were two people visibly running the place. That meant everything from mixing bar drinks to seating people. This slowed everything up at times, but their overwhelming friendliness really overcompensated for it. Very OBX. My husband and I shared an order of fish and chips and chicken fingers. The fish was really the star of the night. It tasted so fresh, was obviously hand battered, and just melted in our mouths. The "chips" could have used some help as they were nothing special. The chicken fingers were pretty run of the mill and definitely of the frozen variety. Overall, this was definitely one of the more positive dining experiences we had during our vacation. read more

2 visits in a week and the food was decent at best. They claim to have top 5 best fish taco's you've ever eaten. Apparently they've only had them here before. The clam chowder was awful and all the dry food needs sauces (be careful asking for more sauce though they don't tell you they are charging you for it) The 1st visit the waiter was outstanding which is why I feel ok with the 2 star rating. Didn't want to go the 2nd time but not much is open out here in the off season. 2nd visit we had some kid who clearly didn't want to be at work. Also split our check 3 ways at our table and charged all 3 checks a 20% tip fee. When I asked why they did that he said it says it on the menu. They don't give you a menu though. You scan a QR code on the table. And from your phone that's a little difficult to see sometimes. It's pretty much just bar food here. This is a great spot!! We had a large party (13) with kids and they had a spacious back room where we could spread out and not worry about bothering others. The food and beer selection was premium. I had the shrimp and grits which was amazing. Others had the Mahi de Gallo, Black and Blue, Surf/Turf... great reviews by all!! Bad experience - we were seated within 15 minutes - outside. Waited for our server quite a while, 10 minutes. Placed our order took over 45 minutes and we left. Not from North Carolina, but we saw what looked like huge roaches crawling on the walls near our table. We went to pay and rather than apologize and not charge us for our lemonade, they told us to come back for a free drink gave the waitress $5 and was grateful I didn't get sick from a rushed, undercooked meal. Didn't care for people smoking outside (non patrons- people waiting for their pizza) next to our table. and our table location was under a loud outdoor speaker,which made it difficult to talk. It's kinda of odd. This place is a BAR that definitely serves a full menu starting with breakfast. Their food is decent to yummy breakfast fare, my nephews got the pancakes and oreo waffles and french toast and ate every last bite. The bacon was good, the eggs benedict was just okay, altho it came on a biscuit which was yummo! The highlight was definitely their bizarre "breakfast lasagna"!!! Eggs, bacon and cheese layered and covered in sausage gravy. It is a crime. A delicious, unique, incomparable crime. I would go back just for that. read more

I'm from New England (where seafood is sort of our thing), and have searched from Corolla to Nags Head searching for good fish and chips... turns out Uncle Ike's is where it's at! Tony seems to be a very hardworking owner who wants to be sure his guests are satisfied. Give this place a try, and I promise you won't be disappointed. The fish and burgers are great, not to mention their homemade aioli instead of tartar! I think they are open April - October. We have Been going here for years now but I have to say today was a bad experience. The food was good but the staff not wearing masks is not acceptable. We stay here 2 weeks and usually eat her 10 mornings when we are here. We will not be going back ever again. I just can't believe in these times they are not wearing a mask. read more

Went to Uncle Ike's for lunch during vacation on my husband's birthday. We were seated right away as it was a midweek lunch. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and outgoing. I had the grilled crab cake sandwich. It was the best crab cake I've ever had! Husband had shrimp and grits which looked great. Large kids menu. Both kids ordered chicken fingers. These were not your typical frozen fingers but instead were huge fresh pieces of chicken. Forgot to mention we had fried pickles for an appetizer. They were perfect. read more
