Great southern style fish. They have grilled or fried options. Sandwiches or Plates. Best turnip Greens I've ever had! Fried catfish with their hot sauce was super delicious.

10/10 experience. A warm family restaurant with freshly fried food to order. Ate every bite!

Cajun perch, Mac and cheese, hush puppies and Cole slaw

Great food and super friendly service. We tried the cajun style perch and lemon pepper catfish, with a side of coleslaw, hush puppies, Mac and cheese and beans. My dad who lovesss catfish said it was the best he's ever had, which is saying a lot!

So I recently got a order of food from here. My sister was visiting coming this way from Nashville to so this place is on the way. For the longest my sister said that I should be doing videos about my foodie adventures because I've been doing this for awhile. I started on TripAdvisor and Google platforms also. I saw this place on line a video of the back story of how they got started and I definitely needed to try this delicious looking food! I got myself a 3 piece Perch plate for me and mom. I got my sister s 3 piece whiting fish plate and I got a 10 PC whiting fish only plate. The fish is fried to a crisp and crunchy with hot sauce and tartar sauce on the side. The sauce is boss. One thing about whiting bones will be there more than Perch no bones but whiting is different. The Perch is delicious and crispy how the original Bankhead Seafood used to be. I can't speak on the renovation building because I have not visited. The whiting fish is delicious also and the pieces are big not small at all. I took a picture of my Perch fish plate I put the whiting fish plate in the fridge at the time. I ate from here on 9/11/2025. If you are ever in the area pull up and support them! Man if they had a location down here in the area it would be game over for some places ha lol.

Visited the South for the first time and heard great things about this catfish restaurant! I got the fried catfish and my friend got the fried tilapia. The catfish was so soft and buttery!! It is definitely a softer fish than the tilapia. The breading is a little too salty for me but I think that's also a personal preference. I got my fried catfish with a side of fried okra and turnip greens. Fried okra was delicious but the greens were also a little bit salty for my taste. I'd get the baked beans next time. The restaurant has more of a hole-in-the-wall vibes and is causally run. Service was fast and staff were attentive and helpful.

    Catfish sandwich! Oops, bite missing!

My goodness! What an absolute gem this restaurant is in the city of Chattanooga I enjoyed a catfish sandwich and coleslaw, with a side of greens. The best fried catfish I've had in the city!! The sweet lady and young man that served us were very friendly and had great sense of humor, both of them! The lemonade was delicious. The restaurant is old school, I felt like I was on my great grandmother's porch on a Sunday We can't hardly wait for our next visit!!!

I simply cannot recommend Uncle Larry's more to anyone, by far the best catfish I've ever had. Such a family run small place shelling out some of the best seafood east of the Mississippi. The catfish filets were breaded and Cajun seasoned, the best! I also loved the white bread it came with, simply was a little different than normal white bread unless I'm brainwashed by how good the catfish was. I ended up making a sandwich with the bread and adding a slaw. My wife for a simple meal of chicken tenders, I had her baked beans and she had potato salad which she enjoyed. Service was fast and friendly, couldn't have been any nicer. I hope to be in Chattanooga again one day to have some more of Larry's catfish.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first time visit to Uncle Larry's Fish!!! Food is cooked to order so don't go in being hasty! Signs posted set the proper expectation for all orders. This isn't a huge place but you can dine in comfortably. I placed a to go order to take back to my room. I ordered the 2 piece small whitening plate (Cajun). The plate came with two sides, which I went with white beans and fried okra. I opted for hush puppies instead of white bread. I didn't request fried hard on the fish nor the fried okra, like I normally do. It was a test & they passed!! Everything was so delicious, perfectly fried and well seasoned!! The customer service was personable and the inside of the restaurant has a very inviting vibe.....Felt like the inside of a loving home. I will definitely be back here whenever I'm in Chatt! My only regret was not ordering more food!

Arrived early so I was the 2nd person. Food was delicious and perfect for my journey back to Georgia. Uncle Larry greeted me and brought me more tea. Always kind and a gentleman. Such a God-fearing man.

I couldn't be more happy that we stumbled upon this place. I spent the rest of my trip trying to get back here. The catfish is something I dream about. I liked the lemon pepper the best, and it was still a little spicy. The okra divine. The mac and cheese was like my momma makes. The person working that night was kind, helpful, and funny.

    Catfish plate! One spicy.
    Alexander B.

Very friendly service. Spicy and regular tartar sauce. Hip working class food. Possibly the best fish and chips. Onion rings are so so. All other sides are excellent.

My dinner. Consumed. Yall this place is INSANELY GOOD.

That personal touch immediately set the tone and made the experience feel authentic and heartfelt. Of course, I had to try the gumbo, and it was exactly what you'd hope for--rich, flavorful, and comforting. But the true star of the meal was the Crawfish Bisque. Silky yet full of Crawfish meadecadent, and packed with flavor, it was the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite just to appreciate what you're eating. And then came dessert. The Cherry Bread Pudding Fritters are what dreams are made of. Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside, with the perfect balance of tart cherry and rich bread pudding flavor. I would gladly return just for those. The atmosphere completed the experience. From the décor to the soundtrack, everything felt very NOLA. The music had me wanting to linger a little longer, and the whole restaurant had that warm, lively energy that makes New Orleans so special. The waitress arrived shortly after our seating and took our appetizer and drink order. We started with the Triple B. The fries came out quickly, were hot, fresh and delicious. The drink I ordered was out, but the waitress gave another option, but unfortunately that was out as well. Ended up having an old favorite, Guinness. For our meals we ordered the smoked brisket French dip and the wagyu burger. Upon ordered the burger our waitress informed us there was a shortage of patties and if we still wanted the burger we would get one patty instead of two, but at a lower cost. Both dishes were amazing and we couldn't finish them as both the fries and the entrees were larger in comparison to other places we have eaten. Overall this was a great experience with great food. The only thing we had difficulty with is having to use the phone flashlight to read the menu as the lighting was really dim. Will definitely return if we take another trip here.

Walk Ons was a sport bar/restaurant, and the motif really hasn't changed (there are over 50 TV's present) they are clearly downplaying that element has over half of the TV's were either off or had rotating art. It was so obvious I had to ask and was advised the new ownership was looking to distance themselves from that image, while projecting a finer dining image. Clearly neither the motif nor the menu was indicative of such a shift, but that will require an additional visit. Their burger entry for Burger Week was excellent, the accompanying hand cut fries were hot and tasty. The beer selection was a bit light for my liking. The service was excellent, always important. I'm a bit at a loss as to how to rate Riverport Grille. My experience tonight was positive, it was a great burger. So as a participant in this week's Burger Week event, a positive result. STIR has an extensive drink menu including various whiskeys and mocktails. We've generally ordered some kind of fish and a salad/poke bowl. The kitchen does a really great job of not overcooking the fish and there's the perfect amount of salt, fat and acid to flavor. The only thing that could be better is how they cook their white rice - it's not fluffy and has more of a gummy texture in both their poke bowl and their seasonal bento box. Ordinarily we wouldn't get desserts when Clumpies is a brief walk over, but this time we got their matcha cheesecake and layered chocolate cake. Both were delicious but between the two, I'd say the cheesecake was the best. Service is generally great here - they're attentive, friendly and give great recommendations.
