This time I tried the beef liver with onions and bell peppers, and it was SO good. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked just right. Can we talk about the rice for a second? I don't know what they cook it in, but it has to be some kind of broth because it is hands down some of the best rice I've ever had. Every grain is perfectly cooked. It's not gummy, not hard... just perfect. The refried beans? Absolutely incredible. I brought some home and literally had to hide my leftovers from my daughters because they kept trying to eat my food. I've also had their beef soup (the short rib soup), and it's one of my favorites. Their pupusas are delicious, the pickled cabbage that comes with them is addictive, and the sweet plantains are amazing. I ordered a mojito too. It wasn't super strong, but it was refreshing and paired really well with the meal. The service was excellent. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and I found out they have free Wi-Fi and a rewards program, which I never knew because I usually order delivery. It was busy at lunchtime, but it gave us time to reflect on the hard work that led to two of my daughters matching in great residency programs. Two years ago, we also celebrated another amazing match day with a friend who flew in from San Francisco to help our family celebrate. I had the San Pedro Maduro.
