WORST COSTUMER SERVICE. I ask them if I can have an extra box to split the cake with my sister & they said they dont give extra box. It an carton box & You cant give extra box for a $24 cake? then I ask can you cut the cake they said No. 1 Whole cake is too much for just me & I cant share it with my family. I point out they cut their cake to give out samples. The worker just then ignore me than walk away. This is at 8pm I get it! You want to go home. Unfortunately, I came at 7 pm for BOGO and all flavors were sold out except pumpkin, so I recommend to come earlier in the day! One week later, I came back for the Buy One Get One Free promo and tried 3 other flavors with a friend :) All cheesecake flavors were light, soft, airy :) My favorite flavor is now Pandan Coconut! Light pandan and refreshing with coconut shavings for texture. The color is bright and happy. Pandan Coconut is tied with Strawberry - this would match so many teas and is the flavor I imagine in all the cute fluffy cakes in anime - Pandan Coconut is a special flavor, but I could eat the whole strawberry cake and not get tired of it 3rd: Ube - this time, the flavor was very faint, but could also eat the whole cake since the flavor is more neutral - beautiful purple color 4th: Lychee Rose - the rose is overpowering and fragrant, no lychee hint at all - for fans of rose :) I'm glad Uncle Tetsu did a BOGO so we could try different flavors, thanks! :) read more

Very delicious Japanese cheesecake!! The first time I've ever had Uncle Tetsu was in Taiwan, so when I saw this location in the Westfield mall, I was so excited. It was like a little flashback to my childhood. Japanese cheesecake is unlike your typical American cheesecake. It's very fluffy, and the texture is totally different. It has somewhat of a spongecake texture and isn't as sweet as the typical cheesecake. It has a slightly creamy and overall softer and lighter taste. I ordered the original which was about $12 or so. The size of the cake is definitely shareable. If you share it with 1-2 other people, it can probably last 2 days. I haven't tried the other flavors, since I'm already a big fan of the original flavor. I know that they also sell ube and matcha which seem popular as well. I definitely recommend trying this place out, especially if you have never tried Japanese cheesecake before! They do a great job, and the line moves fairly quickly. read more

(Including ORIGINAL, original w Oreo, matcha, and ube.). Each about $12. I've only had those so far. Yes I am a fan of Unce Testsu and would recommend these delicious cakes to anyone interested in Japanese cheesecake. They can get busy, but it's worth any wait. Lovely J-style cheese cake. At $13 each, it's consider inexpensive at today's inflation. Some places sell a slice of cake for $11. I went on Wed, bought one and the guy wouldn't pack the cake in the paper carry bag, went on Friday again bought one and a different guy pack the cake in the paper carry bag and we didn't even ask. I saw that this location was opening up in Valley Fair and I was pretty excited about it. I heard good things about Uncle Tetsu. I knew I had to come here. I waited to come on a random weekday when it was not busy because every time I came here on the weekend, the line was around the corner. I'll make this review short and sweet Overall I thought their cheesecake was good. It was light and delicious. The only negative thing I have to say is that the Oreo flavor did not taste anything like an Oreo besides the actual Oreo in the cake. It tasted like the original flavor. So now I'm a tad skeptical about trying the other flavors due to the lack of flavor from the Oreo. I will try all the flavors and update my review. We came by a few days ago wanting to try the lychee rose but they're were sold out! Got the pandan and original flavour both were so fluffy and light with great flavour. We always warm ours up a little bit to melt that butter center! So 1 star was taken away because of the service. I know it's fast food service but there was no line it was just us and we were ignored for a bit while 2 of them were in the back and when they came out, one went to charge his phone and the other folding a box. After couple times we did manage to get their attention.. will be back for more cheesecake bc this is the closest location to us. read more

I have had Japanese cheesecake in other places so I am not writing this review comparing it to American cheesecake. I tried the chocolate cheesecake and the flavor was very bland. First tried Uncle Tetsu in Australia (of all places ha)! And again in Osaka, so couldn't be happier when they opened a little closer to home in the Bay Area. Visited Valley Fair mall on a weekend and there were only a couple people in line. They are located on the 2nd floor across from SomiSomi, right above Macy's home department. These Japanese cheesecakes are a mix between a pound cake and the traditional denser American cheesecakes. I like to eat them fresh out of the box, but they can also be warmed up for a fluffier texture or refrigerated for a denser texture. Fave flavors so far - original and ube. The cheesecakes here are so good if you want a dessert that isn't too sweet! We ordered the seasonal pandan flavor and it had little flakes of coconut inside. My baking skills are sorry as compared to my mom's so this was a good excuse to try something new on her birthday. I'd been wanting to go to the one in San Mateo, but never got the chance and was excited to see one opened in Vally Fair. I have my reservations regarding parking at this mall, and I see that paid parking was on the horizon at one point. If Westfield VF ever charges for parking, I'm never going back. I ordered an original a few days ahead for pickup at noon. When I walked up, I was pleasantly greeted and was handed my cheesecake. My eyes were drawn to these pastel colored things in bags by the register. I queried "what are these?" "Biscotti," she replied. So I walked around to the regular line and purchased a bag of ube/plain for $4.92. I had no idea what this cake would be like. It was so perplexing seeing it online and imagining the texture, and it was also unclear exactly how big the cake was. Firstly, the texture is very moist. It seems strange that the fluffy cakiness could be so moist, but it is a very unique mouth-feel. I also really enjoyed the sweetness level - between the airy/creamy texture and subtle sweetness, it is a light treat that doesn't overdo any part of the dessert experience. Since we had coffee made, I pulled out some of the ube biscotti and was also highly impressed. Definitely sweeter than the cheesecake, but perfect for dipping into coffee. Lastly, I was satisfied with the size of the cheesecake. It's not too big where you need to cut huge slices for each person, but large enough for 6-8 medium to large servings I'll be back. The flavors were too muted for my liking, bland even, but I may be the minority on that one. This was my last stop on my food date with my boyfriend, so we were pretty full before this, but I just had to try. There were so many flavors to choose from, but we got the original as a baseline. This was a wonderfully fluffy and jiggly cheesecake. It looked intimidating on a full stomach, but it was so airy and pleasant in our mouths that we gobbled it all up!! It was also super fresh, as they make these every few hours since they are so popular. The food options in this mall are just too amazing!! I will say one cheesecake was good to share between two people, and I wish they gave us the calorie count (but after my food date, maybe it's better they didn't). I also I knew how many serving sizes were in one cake though, as they only come in one size. It might be easy to overeat with these as a dessert. Today 10/27/2022, I was at Uncle Tetsu 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd Santa Clara, CA 95050, to buy cakes because they were having BOGO promotion, and I had been a fan of Uncle Tetsu for many years. The guy there was so rude, I believe he was a Vietnamese guy, and his name was Phong or Thong. He gave me a lot of attitude when I was there with my friend to buy cakes. He told us, "You have the cake for free so I give you whatever I want," when I catched him lying to us about running out of all flavors. I would be okay if he told us they had limited choices or whatever, but he literally said, "If you want to call or report to corporation, do it and I don't FUCKING CARE." He threatened customers and said he was protected by the manager there, so whatever I did, he didn't care and did whatever he wanted. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT IS HOW UNCLE TETSU TRAINS YOUR EMPLOYEES. If you do not want customers to come to buy cakes, CLOSE THE STORE or DO NOT RUN OR ADVERTISE YOUR PROMOTION. We were there to BUY AND PAY for the cakes, we were so nice, and the employees there gave us attitudes and said, "WHAT DO YOU WANT? YOU GOT THE CAKES FOR FREE." I was like so shocked because we PAID FOR THOSE CAKES. THEY ARE NOT FREE. I have all evidence and people there to prove it if you want to investigate. However, it is UNACCEPTABLE for THE ATTITUDES AND THREATENS that I received from the guy who works there. Bad business model, bad customer service. Mom couldn't speak and got the wrong order of $12.30 cheese cake. She wanted the $16 cheese tarts. Bc the box is opened, they couldn't take it back. We're willing to wait for 30 min for the cheese tarts and she still said no exchange. Lady, not asking you to earn out of this transaction. Asking you to be nice. Could just throw it out and lose the small $. It's not like Uncle spent $12.30 into a cheese cake; it's a huge margin. We came home so disappointed.
