Mandarin Triple Crown The flavor of this plate just is fabulous!
Steve S.

Good! 5 stars Service... 4.5 stars Ambience... a little loud tonight! Lots of girls nite out! Chinese food was the BEST I have had! Could not get my camera on the full dishes but took some! Definitely worth the drove and cost! Was a pretty busy Saturday night Not pictured was the walnut prawns! OMG.. top tier! Never had them better in my life Also not pictured was an appetizer called crispy eggplant! Outstanding So figure about $$$$ per person and it's worth it! Again the best Chinese food I ever ate!!

Mango Raspberry Sherbert with White Chocolate Shell

My work scheduled a dinner here for all my coworkers and we had a lovely experience! We were able to pick out entrees ahead of time and served family style. We were served 3 appetizers as well. The staff was friendly, quick, and attentive to serving our large party. We also had 4 birthdays amongst our group, and they served four different desserts to each person. As one of the birthday people I got served a mango raspberry sherbet with a white chocolate shell. It was the best of all the desserts! The portions were huge and we had leftovers to take home. We were very impressed by the service for our party of 14!

BBQ Pork Baby Back Ribs

Excellent Chinese food in Livermore. Went back after a long time with family after watching "Annie" at the Bankhead Theater nearby. The ladies ordered colorful fruity drinks, and we ordered honey glazed calamari ($27) and crispy eggplant with hoisin ginger glaze ($21) as starters. The latter was a recommendation by our server, and he was spot on, as the eggplant was served piping hot and was superb. It was almost as good as the calamari (my favorite!). For our entrées we ordered tea-smoked duck ($33) with pancakes, BBQ Pork baby back ribs ($24), General Tso's chicken ($28), and Wagyu Chow Fun ($24) - these were all very good, but IMO the baby back ribs were a notch above the rest! Total bill was a little over $200 before tax and tip. Bathrooms were adequate. Deducted one star because they rushed us and cleared our plates before we were ready, even though there were plenty of tables and staff available.

Delicious food, outstanding service, and a beautiful ambiance--this place never disappoints! Always a pleasure to see owner Nick Liang, and I absolutely love that he surprises guests by singing opera. It's a truly unforgettable dining experience!

Crispy Eggplant

Some friends and I came to celebrate a friend's recent achievement and it did not disappoint! Our food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the crispy eggplant and potstickers as an appetizer. Both were really good but that crispy eggplant is probably the best dish I've ever had, hands down! Sweet & sour sauce, crispy on the outside and soft & tender on the inside. It's the only way to eat eggplant! We also ordered Kung Po Chicken, dry sautéed green beans, pork fried rice with no egg because one of us had an egg allergy, and orange peel beef. All was delicious and tasted fresh and was brought out very quickly! Service was quick and gracious. Our server attended to all our requests and was very attentive! The overall feel of the restaurant was pleasant and we were seated in a nice big booth to accommodate the two babies that were part of our party. Really enjoyed our experience at Uncle Yu's! Highly recommend!

Uncle Yu's, where Quality and Elegance meets with Tradition to deliver the Best Elevated Chinese Food! Located downtown, this Chinese Restaurant shows you why they are dominating in the area. You enter and are greeted by the hostess. The clean, modern, elegant Chinese restaurant couldn't be anymore inviting. I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein, simple, yet complex. Knowing a Chinese restaurant's worth is through their fried ice or Chow Mein. Welp, Uncle Yu's was the best I've ever had. The Chow Mein is perfectly cooked and coated in the wonderful Chow Mein glaze, but cleaner. The Chicken was huge, thin sliced, white, perfectly cooked, juicy chicken. Vegetables cooked, but with snap, wonderful. And for the Chow Mein Noodles, soft, yet have that bite, then melt in your mouth! This place is going to be a go to every time I visit my hometown!

Crab Meat Cheese Puff

Our group had a reservation for 5 and were seated quickly. The inside is dark and moody, totally enjoyed the vibe. Our waiter was attentive and got our drinks and appetizers out quickly. He timed everything perfectly, and had our entrees come out after we enjoyed our apps. Our table ordered a dirty martini, spicy margarita and a lychee martini. The dirty martini was perfection, just the right amount of olive juice. The spicy margarita was well balanced and had just a hint of spice. The lychee martini was refreshing. For appetizers we ordered the potstickers, the crab meat cheese puffs and the specialty dumpling sampler. The potstickers were big and nicely filled, the crab and meat cheese puffs were their take on a crab Rangoon and the dumplings were sooo yummy. The only thing I wish is that there were some meat/veggie options as part of the dumpling sampler. Each dumpling contained some type of seafood and sadly one member of our party is allergic. For the mains we ordered the fried rice, chow mein, Mongolian beef, broccoli beef and a chicken dish. The meat dishes were flavorful and seasoned well. The wagyu steak was tender and soft just melts in your mouth. The chow mein was the star. The texture and flavor of the dish was spot on. I could have eaten the whole bowl myself. The miss of the night was the chicken fried rice. It was pretty bland and the prices of chicken had no seasoning. Overall we had a great dinner. The menu is large so we'll be coming back to try some other dishes.

Garlic noodles is divine

Uncle use at the vineyard is an all-time favorite. Service is always stellar and the food is always hot and fresh. Our favorites are the eggplant appetizer, garlic noodles, honey walnut prawns, and Kung pow three combo. The drinks are always delicious so an absolute kudos to the bartender. We will forever be coming back. Keep up the great work!

Dessert menu! White chocolate and sorbet!

Service, food and ambience is excellent! Highly recommend this place! Celebrated our 43rd Anniversary there!

The Spicy Pan-Fried Crispy Noodles with Wagyu Flank Steak was disappointing, the flavor had some type of floral taste.

Uncle Yu's absolutely offers gift cards. We've been fortunate enough to receive them many times as Christmas presents. Enjoy!

The prices are a bit high for my liking, but maybe this is a norm out here in Livermore. We ordered 3 items: Combo fried rice, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Corn Soup. Spent about $50. The food would have been only enough for 2 people. Food was good, soup was a bit salty and had a bit too much cornstarch. Orange chicken was delicious, I would go back for this anytime. The three of us shared the House Special Dinner, which was a fantastic spread. It included fried prawns, egg rolls, barbecued spare ribs, Mandarin orange beef, prawns with snow peas, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The honey walnut prawns were especially memorable, and every dish had great balance and taste. The variety made it perfect for sharing, and we left very satisfied. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall dining experience was excellent. It's not exactly light on the wallet--the price is $32.95 per person as of March 2026--but considering the amount and quality of food you receive, it felt like a very good value. I would absolutely recommend Canton Village to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food in Livermore.

I know things are changing in the Tri-Valley but it's really hard to find authentic Cantonese cuisine in the area. Mandarin Delight is the real deal. I came in for the lunch special because both the online menu and the menu inside the restaurant showed that it included soup and an appetizer with the listed meals. However, the employee told me the appetizer was no longer included. If that is the case, the menus should be updated instead of advertising something customers will not receive. I still ordered two meals for takeout, but when I got back to the office, I discovered that they had only included one small chili sauce for both meals and no spoon for the soup--just two forks. These may seem like small details, but they reflect a lack of care and attention, especially for a takeout order. The food itself was only average. It lacked flavor, did not look very appealing, and some of it had a strange smell. I have eaten here in the past, and the quality and taste are definitely not what they used to be. I honestly do not understand the high rating. The portions may be large, but I would rather have better flavor, quality, and accurate service. I would not order from here again.

For anyone coming, the parking can be really bad as it shares probably 20 or so spots with several other restaurants. It's near impossible to park nearby with the alternative of parking near the Panera's or even the target. There's plenty of tables and seats inside, and it was pretty slow when we dined in. Convenient televisions on two different sides where all the workers were casually watching, and quite the chatter in the kitchen where they're all watching the World Cup. That doesn't really affect service however as they're quite attentive when called for. We ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice, and the medium bbq platter with char sound soy sauce chicken. All very delicious! The only thing is that they can bit on the pricier side with $20 for the fried rice and $30 for the bbq plate. Overall, I thought grand cafe definitely scratched our itch for Cantonese style dining experience. My brother and I met a few friends here for dinner on 11/28/2025. At around 7:15pm, the place was completely full. Fortunately, our friends arrived a little earlier and secured a table. The interior was clean. A couple TVs on the walls were showing different sporting and news programs. Their menu featured a wide array of non-Americanized Cantonese fare. We decided to do family style and got half a dozen dishes to share. They were: Beef Filet with Mixed Mushrooms, 1lb of BBQ Pork, Fujian Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun with Gravy, House Pan Fried Noodles, and Salted Pork Bone and Peanut Porridge. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes. Overall, I was impressed by quality and authenticity. Despite the slightly higher price point comparing to other similar restaurants, they didn't skimp on anything. The rice and noodle dishes were loaded with delicious toppings, and the taste was on point. The BBQ pork and the beef filet dish were both fantastic. The meat/fat ratio of the BBQ pork was just right, and the beef filet cubes were tender and flavorful. The porridge was just okay. My mom's version still reigns supreme. Service we received was very good. Our server was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions. She did forget our iced water, but I am willing to overlook that. I got a chance the chat with staff before we left, they were all very genuine and friendly people. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience here. The food was authentic and tasty, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
