Let me start my review by saying that we held few children's birthday parties at Under the Sea. Including my own son when he was 4 and 5 years old. This is a unique, clean, safe place for a kid to be a kid. Parent's make new friends with other parents and that's the way it goes. Couple of weeks ago we were invited to a 4 year old's birthday party. Kids had so much fun playing and interacting with one another. Sandy and the other employees were super nice, helpful and caring towards each child's needs and wants. Socks are required at all times while inside the playground. They allow you to bring your own cake, cupcakes, juice and goodie bags. You can even bring any character from a cartoon, movie and more.. Check their hours, because they are closed on the weekends which is a bummer. That's when parents like to spend most of the time with their kids. They also have 3 different packages and prices are super expensive. A lot has changed since I have been there myself. You can also do face painting, have so many different activities from bouncer to slide and a special area to play other games. Few parking spaces and restrooms for boys & girls. It's really a fun place; but, unfortunately Sandy, the owner told us that they will be closing their doors permanently this coming June. Good luck to them and to us! read more

The woman who worked here, I didn't catch her name, but she was so accommodating throughout our whole time here. It was pouring rain, Christmas Eve, and she even called us to make sure that we were going to make it to our birthday reservation. She not only helped bring in our refreshments, but she provided the pizza, and cupcakes for our party! She was so kind, she couldn't have been nicer. We had a table all set up for us, the pizza came, she cleared the entire table once we were finished, she packed the pizza and cupcakes up for us, and it was raining so she bagged up all the presents for us and put it towards the front! Had another very successful bday party at Under The Sea. The Team makes everything so easy and I actually got to enjoy the party and socialize. I so appreciate how efficient the team is and that they set everything up in advance. We arrived 10 minutes before the party and everything was beautifully laid out and ready to go. We've been invited to two birthday parties at Under the Sea, for a four-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl, neither of whom live especially close to the venue. We missed one due to COVID but got to go to the second a couple weeks ago, and I immediately understood why this is a popular spot for parties with young children. Parking was sort of a pain in that the lot only has a few designated spots for Under the Sea and the street parking has limited hours. We decided to take a chance in the lot rather than on the street and parked in one of the many empty spots reserved for the businesses that don't open on weekends. The venue had plenty of space for a large group of small kids and their parents, one deep rectangular room split into a lunch area and a much bigger fenced-in play area, with no food or drink or shoes allowed. Socks were required, and you can buy them on-site, but the hosts were also nice enough to provide a bunch to hand out to guests who might not have read the fine print (i.e. me). I'd assumed the hosts brought in their own food and drink, but it looks like those come with Under the Sea's party packages (and what I assume are the attendant mark-ups). It was simple, solid kid party fare, Papa John's and cupcakes and juice. No alcohol, and I'm guessing you can't bring your own, which is maybe not an issue if you're doing a two-hour party on a Saturday morning. The play area was great, and I liked that you could see all parts of the venue from pretty much any one point. There was tons of play equipment, all of it clean and inviting. My three-year-old enjoyed the bounce house, various climbing structures, and a little house in one corner with a table and several kitchen sets, where he played alone with plastic toys for a while--not the best use of Under the Sea time, this tiny bachelor life. I did notice some kind of off-brand mermaid character floating around, but I'm not sure it mattered for a group of three-year-olds. The themed decor didn't seem to register with them either, but it was fun and cheerful. I'll bet it's easy for a place like this to feel dumpy, and it didn't. There were also party favors that weren't junk, a cute otter lunch bag for the three-year-old and a squishy ball for his baby brother. We had a nice time at Under the Sea and I'd recommend it if you're looking for an indoor venue to have a kids' party that's pretty relaxing for adults. The children will have plenty of ways to entertain themselves. read more

We did my daughters 4th birthday party here. Her and her friends had SUCH a blast. The venue takes care of everything for you. You drop off your decorations the week before and when you arrive everything is set up and ready to go. So much easier than a park birthday where you have to set everything up yourself. They also take care of clean up and tear down and help you get all the presents, etc into your car. Sandy and her team made party planning for our little 3 year old's birthday easy and smooth! She's thoughtful, experienced, professional, and so responsive! We've attended a few birthday parties here, but this was our first time hosting one and at this new location. We had a dinosaur themed party and the Pirate led a treasure hunt plus activity. Kids had a blast running free and even my 9 year old niece was into the experience led by their wonderful Pirate. During the planning process, Sandy sent me photos, and she made great suggestions based on her experience and was not pushy about it. Just wanted to update my review since they moved! We still love this place..I am a nanny, so I have been with them through at least half a dozen kids and the 3 times they have moved. This location feels a bit smaller than the last, but I love the little side room with the lights, the little one I nanny calls it the "disco room" The parking can be tight. Went in this morning and it was packed due to the fires in the area and the poor air quality. I guess everyone had the same idea and decided that Under the Sea was the place to go. Eventually it reached full capacity but all the while I witnessed Elena (who was by herself) answering the phone, sweeping the floor, and wiping down the tables with Clorox wipes. She even heated up somebody's lunch for them! She didn't miss a beat and was able to maintain a crazy but fun atmosphere for the children. We appreciate her and how hard she always works. We went to under the Sea for a birthday party for a 1-year-old, there were about 10 or 15 kids but mostly there was parents and their friends And grandparents and their friends. The food was adequate I assume because I kept seeing individuals going back for more. There didn't seem to be a lot of staff that day. It was on a Saturday. Our party was scheduled from 4:00 to 6:00 at 5:40. We hadn't even cut the cake yet so we asked for additional time. We were told if we stayed another 20 minutes it will cost us another $100. I can understand they have to stick to their policy. However, The place was empty other than two or three other people with children And there didn't seem to be another party coming behind us, no one was waiting. So without a lot of fuss or fanfare we concluded Business there And took our cake And bought ice cream from the McDonald's Right in front of the place. I never left a bad review like this (about the person) before but I do this time. I did not appreciate the owner lady (? I believe.) had such a mean heartless manner with me. She looked angry and told me that I missed the sign at front their strict rules about socks literally while I was wearing them! My son run inside so I had to chase and putting the socks at the same time. I wasn't there even for 5 seconds! So I said I'm sorry I've been here for many times and first time I've been warned like that. She kept pointing at the sign and told me I'm disrespectful and I'm a liar as all her employees are trained to warn customers like she did. Not sure why she had to be so aggressive. Making the strict rules are totally understandable but making people follow in such an aggressive manner is not. I found this business on Groupon, decided to buy a play date for my god daughter. Friday morning I called and spoke to a very pleasant woman, she informed me that Weekends are reserved for parties but we are more than welcome to come in Monday through Friday for OpenPlay! The following Monday we arrived at Under The Sea, the decor is lovely and it was just the perfect size playground where I could see and play with my little god daughter. Some other venues have these huge playgrounds and I'm always terrified I might loose the little princess! We where told no shoes just socks on the carpet, this made me more at ease knowing they maintain cleanliness in an area where babies are crawling around. Sadly I was wearing flip flops, right before a very disappointed toddler and I where about to leave the employee saved the day!! I bought a pair of socks for $1.99 and used our Groupon, which they said is honored even after expiration date. We tucked our shoes into cubbies and walked into through the little gate to the play area, another very nice details so kids can't run out. The toys and play equipment where all very clean, the little princess and I had a blast. We stayed a few hours, bought some little snacks and toys through out. I decided to come here with a special 20 month old boy today, the place was really fun for him and he definitely wore himself out to make for a nice nap afterwards. The place is clean enough and there were no odors at all, they also gave us a goody bag that had samples which came in handy for sure! The only problem I had was "wow it's hot in there! " And I thought $12 was steep for one hour .. Although we could have Stayed as long as we wanted There's no way a child this young could handle more than an hour at nap-time. (JUST LEARNED YOU CAN RETURN AFTER NAP) I know they offer packages and I can find a Groupon deal but I just really wanted to check the place out first. Next time I will bring my grandson who is almost 3 and I think he will get his $12 worth! We have been regular patrons of Under the Sea for a little over a year now, so it seemed quite natural to host our son's 5th birthday party there this last month. The short of it is- an amazing and worry free experience! Their over 20 years experience doing just that, certainly shows. We purchased the most basic package and it was a great value! The experience reminded me of my own childhood, where kids would play, eat together and gather around for cake. But we never had a bounce house or fun slides like this! We only had to drop off our plates, table cloths, and snacks the week before and bring our cake and cupcakes the day of. They offer to order pizza too, but we opted to bring our own subs, which they helped us cut and present nicely on trays. We also provided costumes for the kids to dress up while they played. The first level package also includes face painting! All the details of the day were taken care of by Elana, Nika, and Ilana with great calm and pleasantry. They set up all the tables, even using some of our extra supplies to decorate. They made sure all our guests were comfortable. We ended up being short on plates, but they came through with some of their own supplies and saved the day. They kept the area clean throughout the party and cleaned up everything at the end, while collecting all the presents and extra things to take home with us ready at the door. It was a carefree experience that let us truly enjoy our son's birthday! A few things to think about- since you pay for all extra kids (including siblings), consider this when choosing your package. And bring socks of all sizes for the guests that will forget them. We would most definitely host our party at Under the Sea again and highly recommend that you consider them for your next event. First time coming here and it's just alright. This is a sock only area. You cannot be barefoot or have shoes in the play area. They can sell you a pair of socks for $2 if you dont have some on hand. It's $15 per kid and one parent is free. Additional parent will cost another $5/6. Lady at the front was not the most pleasant or welcoming. The place looks very dated and was smaller than I initially expected. They have tons of random step 2 or little tyke toys ( that could probably use disinfecting considering so many kids touch them). I was hoping they would have a slide but they didn't. It was a little overwhelming with all the kids running around and parents chasing after them. My son seemed to enjoy him self but I probably won't be back unless he himself requests it. My total came out to $18 and I just think it's a bit too steep for what little they had to offer. read more

That explains A LOT. I remember being in a room with tables and it had a gate to go in and there was this huge climb in maze structure. First timer. Don't think we will be back. It was absolute chaos. Only one attendant. Parents not watching their kids, not enough space for my 1 year old to play without getting trampled on so I spent most of my time holding him. Called the business before writing this review to notify them of my experience and thought they would offer a repeat visit or a refund as a courtesy and was told there is nothing they can do. In response to the managers comment while I appreciate the response. As I mentioned in our convo. I came with two children (1 and 3 year old). Only the 3 year old was able to run around. The one year old was not. When I left the attendant was talking to another customer rather than express my negative experience in front of the customer I decided to call today expecting a favorable response. Awesome place to host a childs birthday. We have a few different ages and they all enjoyed the gym. There is Amit of space for them to run and play. There is a separate area for the food and there is also 2 family restrooms that are kid friendly. Make sure your have your socks on or they will not allow you on the playground. We were actually invited here for the birthday but we are definitely thinking about hosting our next celebration here. They have packages that include everything in them with the characters and the face paint. All you have to do is bring yourself. REVIEW UPDATE: Dear Sandy K. My review is not about the "hidden" gratuity charge. As I mentioned, we are aware of the gratuity charge even before the party. My complaint is about "forcefully" charging the tip $125 for 2 hour work. I have never tipped $125 for 2 hour work in my 70 years. They did a decent job, but please don't mention what they did was hard work. I have seen lot of hardworking jobs than these and no one charges this much tip. I know you are running a business and you have your expenses. I have run a business before for more than 20 years and I always see that business has to be a win-win situation for both owners and customers and not just owners. read more
