It is a small, intimate space where we were greeted with a big smile by the hostess and our waiter came by soon after we were seated. It was a chilly walk around the corner so I was looking for a hot coffee to warm me up. Having never been here before I opted for the special of the day, which was something with lavender in it, and I was surprised at the delicate way the latte both supported the robust coffee flavor and the delicate lavender addition. It was better than I anticipated and I knew that we had stumbled upon a gem of a spot that emphasized quality of what they serve. Now, for breakfast, I love a good gravy but I am always disappointed by my order. The country gravy is usually too thin, to bland, too chunky with some sort of meat product, and too small of quantity to really enjoy a good biscuit with it. With this skepticism in mind, I ordered the "The Works" assuming at the very least, the addition of fried eggs and ham were good enough to eat on its own when the gravy, which I also assume will disappoint me, runs dry. I apologize for my assumptions, ButterCloud Bakery, because I was served a thick, seasoned, peppery gravy and plenty of it. This is actually the best gravy I have ever ordered from a restaurant, if I was not traveling, I might have bought a few sides of this delicious concoction and brought it home for the next several mornings! Nothing skimpy on my plate. My husband ordered the beef and blue and devoured every last bite. I managed to steal a few bites off his plate and was pleasantly surprised, I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I stole a few more bites when he was in the bathroom! We left very satisfied with our meal, our drinks, and our service. Fast forward a few months later and we are traveling with my parents to California and we insisted that we stopped by ButterCloud Bakery to share our gem of a find. My mom considers herself quite the cook and she also was skeptical of the gravy. One bite and her eyes popped...she was also impressed. This time round I had the scone and gravy and enjoyed every last bite. My mom tried a specialty hot chocolate and I, again, had the latte special of the day, both were rich with flavor. Our second round at ButterCloud Bakery did not disappoint and we have decided it will be our go-to spot when we are in the area, there is still a lot of menu items to try!

Disappointing lunch order @ Panera Bread in Medford, OR…read more I'm not surprised that once the hype of Panera Bread opening up in this town settled down, they wouldn't be an anticipated lunch destination. They've gone down hill since their glory days from decades past. This was my second visit here and I used the kiosk to place my order, as did others since no employee was present to personally take orders. I tried ordering a 'pick 2' with one of my items being salad. I tried to choose multiple salads and every time it said 'no romaine or iceberg lettuce is available at this time' like seriously?!? So yeah, what I ended up getting was just 'okay'. I didn't like that they added the tortilla strips into the soup container so by the time I was ready to eat it, I had a soggy mush on top of perfectly good soup. Like who does that? Also, the sandwich didn't have its ingredients evenly distributed, so I had to bite into certain spots here and there... No care with the food they serve to patrons. What's on display? Sugar-filled pastries and a gross selection of over-priced drinks. I had to ask for a code just to use the bathroom and the employee I tracked down clearly did not want to be there. This is not a place I would enjoy dining in, and would happily go to Chick-fil-A across the street. I will not be returning.

Bitter and stupid disappointment. All I could see and feel was sterile and bland. The price point…read morewas too high for this nonsense. This is where no tipping lives and breathes. Take a good look on how not to go...

I do not like blue cheese. I'll get that out of the way first. But Rogue Creamery with their world…read morerenowned cheese? There's no way I could resist visiting. On a weekday morning right during opening, as soon as I opened the front door, I could smell funky blue cheese wafting through the entire shop. Rogue Creamery doesn't make many types of cheese - just a couple of blues and cheddar, nestled in a single refrigerated display case, but they also offer other cheeses from several different outside suppliers. To complete a cheese plate, they also sell an assortment of charcuterie items like jams and honeys, and plenty of items in the fridge. Of course, since we were traveling, we couldn't exactly buy much, so we went with one of their famous grilled cheeses: Classic Rogue Grilled Cheese ($8) - This sandwich includes a drizzle of honey on both faces of bread followed by a sprinkle of blue cheese. and then a veritable mound of cheddar, which is then sandwiched together and pressed in a panini press. The amount of cheese included creates an awesome cheese stretch. The sandwich is rich and fatty, and the bread, cheese, and honey blends creates a somewhat salty, funky and sweet bite. While the bread is toasted, I don't believed it's buttered, so it isn't that crisp. I'd like to see some additional crunchy elements in the sandwich - perhaps some toasted nuts? I dislike blue cheese immensely, but it's surprisingly mild and sweet in this sandwich, being blended and balanced with the cheddar. Would I get this sandwich again? Probably not, due to the blue cheese, but it was great to try! Rogue Creamery Rogue Gold Pepper Spread Spicy, 8oz ($7.25) - This seems to be Rogue Creamery's version of pimento cheese, colored orange by addition of plenty of red colored piquillo peppers. That adds a delightful mild spiciness along with a flavor that is kind of fruity and very peppery, different from pimentos. The cheese is high quality and there isn't any liquid precipitating out of the spread. It's easy to spread while still having plenty of soft cheese shreds. It's a great replacement for pimento cheese and I ate most of it spread on biscuits and baguette slices. (5/5) PS: Make sure to look at the best buy dates. The first couple of containers in the front looked kind of funky with oils/liquids precipitating out of the cheese. Turns out those were expiring/best by the day I went. Further back there were much fresher looking ones packed the previous day, which is what I chose to buy. Note: Do not follow google directions for parking - instead, the parking lot is a little bit to the South, right in front of a wine tasting bar and bakery. Bathrooms - Single unisex
