Historically! they've expanded such that they have two locations now to make it convenient for those who want to drop their car off in town rather than to head off to the airport area. Location aside service might not be the speediest, but it is extremely good, excellent. My last visit was outside of an insurance claim so I had to pay them out of my own pocket. Even at that, they do not take advantage and they're very fair in their pricing that counts for lots in my book. Everybody's Yelp Honolulu friend Terry K. recommended I take my damaged Tesla to Unibody. I made an appointment for the damage assessment and took my one-eyed car in to their Kakaako shop. The person who did my assessment took my $1,000 deductible payment and said it would take about three months before someone would call me from their Mapunapuna location where they did all the Tesla repairs. The Unibody assessor at this Kakaako location said there were only a few shops in town which specialized in Tesla repairs so there was a fairly long wait to get the cars in but I could check around if I was unsatisfied with the wait duration. My only concern was that I only had one headlight and that I would be pulled over and cited for reduced illumination. I actually only had to wait about two months and dropped my car off at the Mapunapuna location before a trip and got my car back a few days after I returned. Their coordination with my insurance company, intake service, communication on repair status, and pickup notification were top notch. Their repair service and attention to detail are also great. I recently took my 1-week-old vehicle to this collision shop for replacement and repairs to the front and rear passenger doors. Despite choosing them for their good reviews and documenting the condition with photos the day I dropped the car off, I discovered a new, deep scratch on the undercarriage after pickup. The front desk staff was unhelpful, claiming the damage couldn't have occurred at their shop and offering a small bottle of paint for me to fix it myself. The glue-like application on the door was also subpar. The technician assigned to work on my car doors did a sloppy job. I am really disappointed! (Photos attached show the issue. Unibody was on the list of recommended repair shops by my insurance company, and I chose them for the proximity to Enterprise Rent a Car near the airport, since I knew I'd be needing a rental while my car was in the shop for repairs. The process was soooo easy from time I called to schedule an estimate to the time I picked up my car. When I called to schedule an estimate, they were available to bring me in to their location in Kakaako that very Saturday. They sent the estimate directly to my insurance company, and a few weeks later, I scheduled my appointment for repairs. They made all the arrangements with Enterprise for my rental, including shuttle service. Fortunately my repair job was fairly simple, so my car was ready the next day. Hopefully I will not need these services again (knock on wood), but if I do, I am definitely coming back. read more

I will be avoiding this shop in the future. Our car was Iin the shop over 120 days! After we agreed on the repairs, they ordered the parts and we waited. Then we got a call the parts were in so we could drop off the car. After that, the nightmare that was my experience with Unibody began. The phone is rarely answered if you call. Often, if they do answer, you are told someone will call you back but they never do. No one seems to be able to tell you what the delays are except "waiting for more parts." There were over 10 extensions from the original pickup date, mostly being informed of the delay on the day the car is slated for pickup. read more

Unibody Tech is the only place that repairs the make of vehicle I have, so I was limited in choosing them In a nutshell, their estimator was very non communicative once he got me committed to doing the repair there and ignored 2 text messages regarding my repair. After that, they actually messed up and missed half of the repair work that they were supposed to do even though they delivered an estimate and I approved it.??? This caused me to have my truck with them for 20 days, and they were difficult to communicate with during that time. There's only three approved repair shops for Teslas on this island and Unibody Autotech is one of them. They had just repaired my Model 3 and the car I received back looked brand new. The paint matching and door alignment is as good as new. I'm very happy with the outcome! One caveat, the parts that come from Tesla takes close to two months but that is beyond Unibody's control. I recently had my vehicle repainted through a warranty claim with the dealership. The work was done by Unibody, the vendor selected by the dealership. While the repair was completed in a timely manner, I noticed scratches on the vehicle that were not present when I dropped it off. I immediately brought this to the attention of both the dealership and Unibody's manager. I was assured the issue would be addressed, but it has now been about two months without any follow-up. Since I was not given a choice in where the repair took place, I'm hoping they will honor their word and resolve my concerns. If the matter is addressed, I will update this review to reflect the resolution. If not, I will be reaching back out to ensure the issue is corrected and that I am made whole. read more

TLDR: excellent service, very communicative, friendly I was recently in an accident with another vehicle exiting a private property and wasn't looking while entering traffic. Of course, I had to go through the route of contacting my insurance and having my insurance contact the other person, and I could have the entire repair covered by the other person's insurance. When speaking to my Claims Adjuster, they provided me with a list of providers within their network. Incidentally, this was the location I had already thought of contacting based on previous positive reviews. The process was smooth and easy, and they made sure that they explained everything so that I knew what to expect. Parts took about a month to come in, and as soon as the shipment was delivered, they contacted me. Before this visit, Geico had set up a rental vehicle through Enterprise. Unibody has a good relationship with them, so they let Enterprise know of my arrival. Their business number accepts phone calls and text messages. They prefer text messages since their employees can receive them and respond efficiently. Repair took about three weeks since one of the parts was delayed in shipment, but during the process, they constantly texted and provided updates on any delays and potential pick-up dates. On the day the vehicle was ready for pickup, they called me and delivered a follow-up text message. I returned the car to Enterprise and shuttled back to Unibody. Although there was no out-of-pocket cost, they still treated me as a paying customer. If I ever need repairs, I'll keep Unibody as my preferred choice. read more

I had my car replaced the front bumper on October 2021at Unbody Autotech but the result of this work was frustrating considering that they were no. 1 listed as a repair shop accredited with the Insurance Co. When I brought my car to the shop I was told that It will only take 3 days to do the work. On the fourth day, I went to the shop to get my car, Friday that was, but I was told that it will still under go QC and I was asked to come back Monday. In short, I came back Monday to just find out that the color of the new bumper was different from the color of the body which was Diamond Pearl White. But they painted it with Pearl White. I asked the shop supervisor, an asian looking, why the color of the new bumper was Pearl White. He said he based on the VIN of the car. And he even justified his inexperienced when he told me that "whether Diamond Pearl White or Pear White" are all the same white. To resolve it, he asked me to schedule it for another day to correct the color by making it darker, but he is not promising that it will look the same color as the body color. How could I believe him that he can correct when he doesn't know color codes. And he does not know how to use Common Sense. To make the story short, please look at the image of my front car below for your perusal. I had a great experience with Unibody. My car's back bumper was recently hit & I needed to get the damage fixed. All staff that I spoke to were so helpful & efficient in getting me through the process of scheduling & coordinating (this is the first time I've been hit so I was SO CLUELESS lol). I decided to go with them since they were one of the few who returned my calls and emails. I took my car in for an estimate and they told me the appointment would be a few months out due to the severe structural damage. Albeit it took several months to get my car repaired the staff at unibody was extremely kind and responded to any questions I had via text. They worked directly with State Farm and I didn't have to do anything other than drop the car off and wait. They even sent me a link to where I could follow my cars repair process, and pickup and take home was maybe 5 minutes. No hours of singing paperwork and going place to place. I had high hopes for this place since it was recommended by a family friend who used to work at Honda. I had to get my car fixed, they were nice and worked me in sooner than later. They made me feel confident in them and their work until I picked up my car. The passenger side door had a gash in it that wasn't there when I brought it in that's one of the doors they were working on. The weather stripping is coming off. The drivers side mirror in the car is beige and has black oil stains from someone's fingers that I can't get out. My back seat has white on the leather that is stained as well.. I am so disappointed in this place. I have tried several times to contact them about fixing it and no one has gotten back to me. I've sent 3 emails as well. No response. This business started out professional and then when my parts were not in, and I asked for months to check the order and make sure it was placed, they refused. My Tesla has been sitting for over 4 months and I cannot get the President Michael Chong to return a single phone call. No one will answer me about my parts and keep giving me the run around. I contacted Tesla directly and found out that 4 months ago when I wrote the check and signed an authorization form that they cashed the check and never ordered the parts. Tesla has also tried twice to get in touch with them and they are not responding. I still to this day have no idea if my parts are on order or if they plan on doing the repair. That don't have the same backing as large corporations do, besides the fact the quote estimate, sanitation (for COVID-19), friendliness, and professionalism is top notch. Met with Ashley as she took a quick and accurate quote and summary of what was to happen in their town location off ward. After the commutations was prompt and easily accessible via text message. Contacted insurance and used the deductible, simple process. Later set up a service date for the repairs and it was actually three days early from the quoted day which was awesome. Poor customer service. Drove by they're shop looking for a auto body repair estimate. 3 ladies in the front reception area. Lady at middle desk yells out that estimates are done via a text messaging system that allows you to take photos and be descriptive of damages and what was the incident that occurred. Feel like one of them should've came up to counter and address the customer about they're issues and what type of services they provide to remedy it or otherwise. I look forward to the day when your insurance company will simply pick up your damaged car, drop off a clean current test model loaner, and return your car when the repair is done. My fantasy service is not happening anytime soon in real life so I had to deal with this myself. I chose Unibodytech from the shops recommended by my automobile insurance company because of a favorable Yelp review from a trusted source. The process was painless. I simply drove in with an appointment, an estimator went over the damage with me, and they gave me a date to bring in my car for the repair. The whole process was less than 30 minutes. The day after my estimate I received a email with a breakdown of work to be done, estimated costs, and an expected completion date - with contact names and numbers for my estimator, and adjuster, in case I had any questions. Starting from the day I dropped off my car I received regular texts with updates on the work and whether the job was on-time for completion. My repaired car was on hand for inspection when I came down to pick it up. Combined with the paperwork, I was in my car and in my way in 15 minutes. From my own previous experience with autobody repair and painting and some reviewers' less than satisfying experience I was aware that I might find my repaired car returned with some follow up touch work to be done. Unibodytech walked with me around my car to look at the repair work. I am past the point of obsessing over a factory finish look and to my satisfaction, I found my car, looked better than before the accident - no paint nicks and minor scratches. My only disappointment was that the work was extended twice. I had cleared my calendar to pick up my car on the original expected completion date and the delay was an inconvenience. I just got a quote from the shop that was 10 times more than quotes from other shops. When I asked them to explain their quote they told me that they are not in control of the services that they provide and the manufacturer dictates what they are allowed to do for the repairs. They tried to tell me that they were going to have to take off parts of my car that we're not damaged in order to blend paint for other part of the cars that are damaged. I was scheduled by my insurer, GEICO, to get inspected & an estimate for my damages. I was greeted by Tarren, who asked if we had an appointment. I told her what was going on & she informed me that adjusters are only there on Tuesdays and Saturdays. She was just as confused as I. Thinking GEICO should've known that as well. I was given the adjuster's name, Tarren was familiar with him so she went the extra mile by calling him herself to try to figure out what was going on. All while I tried to find solutions through my insurer. This was my first time filing a claim so I didn't know anything. Though, I didn't end up doing my inspection here, I just wanted to thank Tarren for all her help! She could've easily brushed me off & left me to figure this crap out myself. I selected this location after some body damage to my truck during rush hour practice. Unibodytech was suggested by my Liberty Mutual representative as they have a high rating and great customer satisfaction. My assessment was done by Vince and he was quick, efficient, and took the time to explain everything to ensure my questions were answered and my concerns were alleviated. My truck was completed five days earlier than predicted. Unibody will send you periodic texts to keep you updated on the progress of your car. Vince came out to talk to me when I picked up my truck just to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I will definitely return to Unibodytech simply due to my experience with Vince. On a side note, I could not give Unibodytech five stars... The Thursday of the weekend Hurricane Lane threatened the islands, I received a text at 9 am saying my truck was on track to be completed on Tuesday. At 10:45 am, I received a call from Unibodytech saying my truck was completed and ready for pick up. I informed the representative that I would not be able to pick up my truck because of the impending hurricane threat AND that I would have to get my parents to drive at great distance to pick up the car I used from them. The representative was insistent, passive aggressive, and seemed unconcerned with my reservations and inability to pick up my truck at such sudden notice. She kept trying to bully me into picking up the truck even to the point of telling me they would be open on Friday (the day hurricane effects would start on Oahu). She did not let up until I dropped the pleasant voice and took a firmer tone. There were additional words exchanged that left me furious at this representative and indeed I debated speaking to a manager regarding this situation. I had a pleasant experience with Unibody up until the end of my repair. My repair was only scheduled to take a couple weeks and ended up being at the shop for a total of 40 days. I had a rental car that was covered by insurance for the estimated time that Unibody had given. When I was left with the rest of the bill for the rental car for longer time than estimated, I contacted Unibody multiple times with no response. This was the big negative I experienced and for that reason, I will not be giving unibody my business again. read more

I came in because I had light damage on my bumper, yet she wanted to take photos of the interior of my car. I asked why, she said to know the specific model of my vehicle. I said there are other ways to get that information and I'm not comfortable with photos of my interior being taken. She said all insurance policies require that. I said State Farm didn't when I got an estimate a few months ago when someone hit my vehicle. She told me if I'm not comfortable I can leave. Brought my car and when I received it, it had so many blemishes on the area they worked, I had to bring it back. When they said to pick the car back up, I inspected before even driving home and noticed another blemish. So had to leave the car there for another day. Got the call the next day, I inspected, and was able to drive it home. A little frustrating to make 3 trips. I think I was more irate due to the wait just to get my car in. About 3 month wait to initially repair, just to bring the car back to rework. Not sure of their QA process, but it could be better. read more

This time there was a delay because they needed extra parts that the dealer did not have in stock so had to be ordered. Pros: -customer service is good. Worked with Vance and he was awesome. He went out of his way to take care of us. -they have a enterprise on site so it makes getting a loaner a breeze Cons: -I would NOT recommend them at all. Especially if you have a dark color car. - got my car back after the initial repair. They took a week, which didn't bother me, but when I got it back I had all swirl marks on my car as well as dust all in the paint. - while blending they had to remove my roof racks and they chipped my clear and never repaired it. - my door jambs had all overspray - my front windshield was covered in overspray. Keep in mind my repair was on the rear of my car. -took it back in a second time to fix all the overspray, swirls, chips & dust in my paint. It took another week. Since it was their fault they covered a rental for me, however I got my car back again and there was still dust in my paint in other areas as well as swirls all over my car. - everytime I took it back it seemed to get worse & worse. So I decided to take the loss and deal with a shitty paint job. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. If you want a good body shop I highly recommend DADS instead. Unibody was recommended by my insurance, however I wish I NEVER went with them. ***look for another shop ESPECIALLY if you have a dark vehicle!!!! You will regret it!!! Horrible work!!!! read more
