Stopped by for one of the lunch specials and got a deep dish slice of Big Ben. The pizza wasn't very warm, but it was definitely ready in less than 8 minutes from the time I placed the order and received the slice. Not sure why the cheese on top didn't melt? The inside and outside smelled really good so I had to check out the lunch specials. It was definitely very filling for $7.50. Perhaps the NY slice is better, but I wasn't a big fan of the Ben Ben deep dish. The inside of the store looked clean and there were free water cups, as well as outside seating. They are located in a large shopping center with several stores, so parking is not an issue here. Customer service was friendly and they were happy to explain their deep dish slice of the day to me. read more

Came to this casual joint for a late dinner to try their deep dish and it was pretty good! The crust was crispy and the sauce/cheese was warm and gooey. We got the medium union deep dish pizza and it came with 6 slices which I think is good for 2-3 people to share. Upon ordering, we were told that it'd take ~30-40 mins to make, which was good to know so we just walked around the plaza until it was time to go back. Next time I'd probably call ahead to order, especially if I'm really hungry. I also saw that there is a pasta deal on Mondays, and a pizza deal on Monday/Tuesdays. Overall it was fine. Main issue for low rating is the crust. It was extremely dry though the seasoning on it was quite good. Had same texture of a dessert pie crust. Deep dish crusts can be really time consuming so can't tell if they're cutting corners to keep up with demand, but just didn't taste like deep dish dough. I feel like if it had more sauce it would compliment the dryness of the crust better. (However that doesn't mean adding more BBQ is the right move, it would be far too sweet. Maybe adding tomato sauce to it and drizzling BBQ on that?) read more

We called on a Sunday trying to order a head and someone answered the phone and asked us if we could hold. Ten minutes later we were still on hold so we hung up and I ordered a pizza online for pick up. We got Garlic Knots and their 9" Big Ben Deep Dish Pizza (Italian Sausage, sweet onions, roasted garlic, red peppers) which came out to be around $30 with a coupon we received for buying through their site. We set out shortly after and found ample parking spaces. Walking in we noticed there wasn't anyone in front and no bell to 'ding' to get anyone's attention. My husband waved to a person in the back, who saw us, but no one came out. We thought, 'Maybe that person said something and that other person needs a moment.' But, nothing. So finally I had this idea...I pulled out my phone and called them. It took about 10 rings for someone to come out and grab the phone - and as soon as he did, I hung up. That got their attention! The sausage in the pizza was disappointing. It wasn't crumbly, it was a smooth sausage that was cut up, so there wasn't any texture to it. I really did enjoy the garlic - In fact I ate a few whole cloves that were roasted nicely. But overall the pizza was a bit bland. The crust was evenly distributed and cooked thoroughly, but bland. Ordered a 12" Classic Deep Dish. The crust was crispy but doughy at the same time. One slice of the 12" was quite filling. There was a generous amount of tomato and just the right amount of cheese without being too much or greasy. Also got the garlic knots. They were served with lots of fresh chopped garlic - so delicious and spicy! Got a NY style pizza for the kids. It was just ok. They preferred the deep dish. Food takes a long time so pre-order if you can. Located next to Bristol Farms in a nice strip mall. Lots of outdoor seating but it can get chilly so bring a jacket. read more

We ended up here after watching the game at the new SoFi stadium and since it was walking distance from our hotel (Westdrift Manhattan Beach) this was going to be it for us. After all the walking we did from the game taking the shuttle and buses, we were starving. My preference would have been a deep dish pizza since my appetite was huge at the moment but after hearing that it would take at least 30 minutes to prepare, we both decided on having regular thin crust New York style pizza with pepperoni. We also decided to add in a 6 piece order of wings to share. They were kind enough to separate the wings by doing 2 difference sauces- both barbecue and buffalo sauce (my fave). The pizza was itself was pretty basic as I feel like I've had better New York style pizza before locally.. I tried to ask myself what was lacking about it because it had the melty cheese and good pepperoni. And then it hit me. It was the actual dough itself. I've had better tasting pizza dough. As for the wings-- they weren't as crisp as I would have liked since I usually like mine extra crispy straight out of the fryer. These were just a tad soft for me. The nice thing about this spot is they had ample outdoor seating. The interior was nice and clean with a huge jug of hand sanitizer. I longed for deep dish pizza but often gets disappointed as the crust would sometimes be too soggy, heavy and greasy. It was a delight to bite into Union deep dish pizza. The taste was light, crust crispy. The service was ok not too helpful about specials. It was only later after reading the menu thoroughly that found out there were deals I could have partaken in and made experience 5 star. When I asked about one special, I told it was too late but didn't suggest that there were two more specials that applied on Mondays after 4pm. Oh well But the pizza was worth the bite. read more

Have driven by this place a few times and decided to try. There aren't alot of places that I know of down there that serve Chicago style deep dish pizza. Ordered a small deep dish and a personalized calzone for delivery. When it came I was a bit disappointed with the size and it was just cut in half. However the taste was great. So great I ate the whole thing. I had the calzone the next day. The nice about thing about the way they make this is they don't put the sauce in the calzone which doesn't make it soggy. Decent pizza place for when you're craving deep dish, but not super authentic. The crust is thick, but the deep dishes that I relish the most are the ones with not only thick crusts but layers of toppings. The toppings here are fine, but my pie was mostly crust. The outer crust is crunchy but the crust to toppings ratio is odd in my opinion. I also ordered three toppings to be split on different sides of the pizza and it wasn't until after I brought my pie home and started digging in that I realized that they just put 2/3 on the entire pizza. I ordered using the online system (comes with 15% off code) which was easy enough. I went in to pick up my pie and it was a smooth enough process. They have specials that aren't on the website so if you have time to wait and want to get a better deal, it may be better to go in person or call ahead to see what they are. read more

We got the Union Pie Deep Dish which comes with pepperoni, sausage, black olives, green pepper & onions. The toppings were tasty and plentiful with a nice chunky tomato sauce that complimented everything perfectly :) We ordered ahead over the phone (which I highly recommend) and my pie was hot and ready to go when I got there. I have to especially thank the young lady that took my order because she didn't rush me and made sure I ordered the right size. I almost got a personal size and she saved me!! Thank you!!!! I'm giving this place 2 stars because the pizza is good. I'm NOT giving this place anymore stars because of the over charge that happen TWICE! First time, I was told about a deal that was clearly advertised at the door. Large 16" NY Thin Crust + One Topping $15.00. I took it. But when I looked at the receipt, I was charged additional $3 for pepperoni. I asked, why am I being charged $3? She said that it's another topping. WHAT? She said cheese is the free topping and pepperoni is another topping. In what world is cheese considered 1 topping? She talked to the guy in the kitchen, and got $3 refunded to my card. Today, I went in and order (2) large 16" NY thin crust for $15 each and (1) 12" Chicago deep dish for $18 each. AND again, I was charged additional $6 dollars for toppings. I asked the guy why am I being charged for toppings when it clearly states + One Topping? He said that it only applies to ONE pizza and it's written on the sign outside the door. THERE'S nothing on that sign that states ONE pizza. After proving my point to him, he finally says, ok, I'll give it to you. AGAIN, I check the receipt, he snuck another $3 dollar in there as a topping charge. I'm so disappointed in how this shop and it's employee operates.
