Nice venue. We were promptly seated. Salad was beautiful and well crafted, my friend enjoyed it. She also enjoyed the glass of wine that was recommended by our server. We also had the pork sliders, very tasty and nicely spiced, a pleasant surprise! The pickled vegetables "escabeche" was fantastic and not too spicy, a very well balanced bite. We went down to the union Saturday night for Rocktoberfest and we had a wonderful time. We got the appetizers, pretzel with cheese dips and bread with honey butter. We didn't got the brought sandwiches, which came with chips, and both had our share of beers. You are seated and they bring out water and they kept the water filled up the whole evening. The band called the dirt played which is 80s hair rock, and they are very good. There's a Mexican restaurant across the way that smells very good and we will have to check out as well. read more

Recently had a dinner date with my husband here to enjoy food & drinks. We excite ourselves by trying new cocktails and appetizers. It was 9pm during the week, so we did not expect a busy night. We are aware Wednesday nights are the busiest since the Union is known for Whiskey Wednesdays (half off happy hour). Seated ourselves but did not feel welcomed especially with the 'water gal' who didn't seem quite friendly. No 'Hi's', no 'good evening' or a 'how are you'. Our experience did improved once our waitress welcomed us and we were able to decide on cocktails to enjoy first. Cherry Limeade definitely takes just like a Sonic Cherry Limeade! Pulled Pork Sliders was delicious but could have been slightly better with a touch of more sauce on the pork. Our mains was not as pleasing. I had ordered the Meatloaf in which I personally doubted as it is cooked with both beef and pork belly. The more I ate it, the more sour it had gotten. I ended up eating about half and finished the broccolini. Unsure if it's the protein or perhaps the gravy. But I do not recommend. Staying with mama's meatloaf!! My husband ordered the La Torta which he enjoyed. His comment, more meat is needed. Overall, we do recommend Union for either date nights, girls night, or for big groups. The staff are always attentive to our needs whether it is food or water refills or just to check in. We had the fish and chips and they were delicious - not too greasy and not too fishy. Tables were full. There was a TPUSA, Charlie Kirk event attended by 700 people wanting service and the waitresses were busy working to accommodate all of the spaces taken up for dinner and drinks. This is a letter that I hand delivered to the Union Public House. I had not planned on publishing this to Yelp. However, it has not been ten days and there was no reply to my letter either via email, or any other means even though the hotel our team was staying at is in the same parking lot as this establishment. This is exactly what the letter said: Union Public House 4340 N Campbell Ave, Ste 100 Tucson, Arizona 85718 Attn: General Manager January 11, 2023 Dear Sir or Madam, Late yesterday afternoon a group of four of us went to your establishment for dinner. I was excited to go as I have been there on two different occasions when teaching in Tucson. Our team of four instructors is staying at the Homewood Suites in the same parking lot as your establishment. We will be there until Friday morning, Yesterday was a disappointment for several reasons. I knew what I wanted to eat before even getting to the public house. It was the chicken pot pie. Mine was a disappointment this time. Instead of the crust being golden brown and flaky it was hard and burnt. I have a photo of it should you care to see it. One member of our party did not receive his pizza until the rest of us were almost finished eating. Another member of the party ordered a pizza to go and it never did arrive. A man who identified himself as the bar manager apologized saying they were having issues in the kitchen. That was the reason given for the pizza for one of our party being very late in getting to him. We would have understood the issues had the establishment been busy when we arrived. It was not. There were actually very few customers upon our arrival. This is not at all what I expected. The last time we were in town my wife and I dined at your establishment twice, having the chicken pot pie both times, it was that good. Not this time. I do not intend to do a review on Yelp as it would be unfair to put such a negative review on that platform if there were actually issues in the kitchen. ****************************************UPDATE********************************** A reply from Grant, the owner, did not get to me until after our team had departed Tucson. I wish he had contacted me earlier so issues could have been discussed instead of being posted to an online platform. Yes, a pizza was "comped." That was for the one member of our party who did not receive it until the rest of us were finished with our meals. One pizza never did arrive and that order ended up being cancelled by another member of our party. The afternoon was very comfortable as mentioned. However, we arrived early enough that the patio was not all that busy. The interior was fairly empty. We will be in Tucson again in October and are willing to give this establishment another try. Our first two experiences were great. We had a fantastic server who really had her "stuff together." We specifically asked for her section for our second visit. It was a great as the first. While going to the farmer's market in St. Philips Plaza, we had Sunday brunch at Union Public House. My favorite thing about the establishment is the location. While my wife enjoyed her ham and cheese omelet, my son thought the Yardbird was ok, but I didn't really care for the food. I am a big fan of poutine and their version is a hot mess. Literally...very few fries swimming in a lot of gravy. It was a nice presentation with the pot pie, but the taste was off and I thought the same for the poutine. At the conclusion of the meal, the waiter comes with the credit card machine and stands over me as I am writing out the tip. I hate that, I really do. Unless it is a family member, no customer wants to have someone stand over them as they pay and write the tip. Please stop that trend. read more

First time here and overall it was a nice experience. The weather was beautiful so we are outside. Our server Arturo was very nice and attentive. He suggested the bacon hash, which was a great suggestion because the bacon was cut in thick chunks that went very well with the sweet potato hash. There was also a sweet hollandaise sauce that really tied the dish together nicely. My boyfriend got the Pueblo Omelette which was very meaty, but not greasy and the salsa tied that dish together as well. We also liked the fact that instead of your standard toast, we got a cup of fruit which was much appreciated. We ended up doing the "Free Flowing Mimosas" which is a great deal and went to all 3 spots. I highly recommend doing this option. We will be trying the food at the other restaurants next time (I did review Proof due to the ambiance and service) but overall beautiful day and I would give this a 4.5 star if I could. read more

Was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal here. Of note, the service was not the best, we ended up waiting a long time for the check, eventually having to flag down the waitress from across the room. However, the food was delicious and I am so glad to have found a restaurant that stays open late in Tucson, I swear all restaurants here close right at 9 pm. Ordered the Cubano sandwich with the coleslaw. The coleslaw was close to perfection, not overly drenched in sauce which is often the case. Instead, it had a nice vinegary touch to it. The cubano sandwich itself had a great mix of spicy mayo with mustard over the curd ham and pork. It was quite enjoyable. The restaurant has a great environment with indoor and outdoor seating; there are even fire pits if you just want a drink at the bar and want to enjoy some time sitting around a fire catching up with a couple of friends. We came here for Tommy Lloyd's post game ratio show which is often advertised at UA basketball games and on the local radio stations. It's a perfect location for the show. Many seating arrangements where you can see Tommy and the host talk. During breaks, Tommy came around and said hi to most of the patrons in that part of the restaurant. He came up to us and we got a photo! Super fun. Mostly UA basketball fans during the time we were there. I believe started at 6PM and we had no problem getting a good table 30 minutes early. The other advantage of showing up a bit early was that happy hour was still going on. We got 2 entrees, each with a side of fries, as well as a hot pretzel appetizer and beer. The beer was even a dollar off because of the daily special (1$ off drafts on Mondays I believe). My pulled pork sandwich was flavorful and my girlfriend enjoyed her burger. Good service and fun environment. We walked around a bit after and explored the patio spacing. It has lots of outdoor seating, and pretty patio lights-- we will definitely be back for a date night sometime soon. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with friends and family last weekend, and it was a delightful experience. The menu offered a wide range of choices, which was impressive. One of the highlights was the charcuterie board, which not only looked beautiful but also tasted delicious. Additionally, I ordered a salad and the staff was very accommodating in customizing it to my preferences. The ambiance of this place is reminiscent of a trendy and hipster pub.What's even better is that the prices are very reasonable, which adds to the overall positive experience. The atmosphere in there is really cool and the large outdoor space is perfect for taking advantage of great Tucson weather and live music on the weekends. The wait staff was kind, but it took a long time to get forks and knives and we had to ask a few times. We also didn't have our waters filled up after asking a few times. Surely, they were just busy because they were not rude or anything, but it was a little bit inconvenient. Although the food was more expensive than I would have expected, it was delicious. First off, this is more of a sports bar than a restaurant. There are TV's everywhere blaring at full volume making conversation with your guests difficult if not impossible. Our service was excellent from a waitress that was only on her second day there. As far as the food. I ordered the Cubano and it wasn't even close to what a Cubano should be. It had the pulled pork but with BBQ sauce and Jalapenos !!! No ham, no swiss cheese, not even close to what a Cubano should be. My wife had a salad which she said was good and our other guests had the shrimp po'boy which they said was also good. The fries looked nice but no flavor. I'd give them another chance, it's always a good thing TO do that... but I hope it is way more flavorful than the burnt, tasteless meals we just couldn't fix with condiments. What does shine here is the bar, the outdoor seating and the dual entrances. It's a bit of an under-lit facility so please use caution for those that may be visually impaired. Then, right after we got our forks and knives, a server came over and sort of threw an ice cream sundae on our table, lit the candle, and walked away.
