LOVED this event host by Universal! I didn't get a chance to do last year's Jujutsu Kaisen, so when I saw that Sailormoon was one of the fan fest events, I just had to book at tickets for the Universal Fan Fest Nights! I ended up going on a Friday evening, with the event start time at 7:30 P.M, which went until a little bit after 1:00 A.M. Universal put so much into making each franchise feel like its own immersive mini event rather than just random photo ops scattered around the park! The One Piece area was probably one of the highlights for me. The live action themed dining location was packed with energy and themed food, and the atmosphere felt like stepping into the world of the Straw Hats for a bit! Even if you're not a superfan of the One Piece anime, the amount of detail and excitement around was really cool. The live action show that was in place for the Water World was one of the best themed shows I've ever seen! The Sailor Moon experiences were another huge standout. The meet and greet was super popular, long lines though, but really well done! Seeing the DreamWorks Theatre completely transformed for the Sailor Moon show was amazing! I've watched the Sailormoon anime series growing up and was so excited about this event! The whole performance had this energetic, theatrical anime concert vibe that I absolutely loved! The crowd energy during the show alone made it memorable especially at the end of the show! The event was so varied! One minute you're walking through a magical Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey themed walkthrough experience, and the next you're running into Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! characters and other fandom surprises throughout the park especially at the backlot area of Universal Studios. It felt like there was something happening around every corner, which kept the whole night feeling exciting! The entertainment, themed food, character interactions, walkthroughs, and shows all felt designed for fans who genuinely care about these franchises! It had a very convention meets theme park atmosphere that worked well! Universal Fan Fest Nights ended up being one of the most unique theme park events I've been to in a long time! If you're into anime, movies, fandom culture, or just immersive experiences in general, I highly recommend going to one of these events! It felt like Universal experimenting with something really special and I hope they keep expanding it in the future! AN IMMERSIVE NIGHTTIME EVENT for UNIVERSAL DIEHARDS! My parents and I visited FanFest for the first time and we are itching to return for the festivities next year! During our first visit we had the pleasure of journeying through the lands of One Piece, Dungeons & Dragons, Scooby Doo x Universal Monsters, and Sailor Moon! Unfortunately, we couldn't hit up every spot as there was SO much to do, lesson learned. I'd recommend visiting a few nights per FanFest season as some attractions end early (ex. Super Nintendo Land's Yoshi Experience). I was bummed that some experiences were closed too early, I felt like SNW could've been open till closing as Mario is super popular! Additionally, some of the signage regarding attraction locations could've been better, as several patrons were scrambling, us included! Overall, we still had an incredible time. Anime was a highlight this year. One Piece converted Waterworld's stage into an original Luffy stage play with stunts and character cameos. Photo-ops were available with the cast after the show. I spotted several One Piece-themed eateries with yummy options. Next, Sailor Moon took over the Dreamworks theater and presented a standalone 3-D adventure featuring all the magical girl energy you could ever want. I really liked the Dungeons & Dragons experience as it was a walkthrough of a medieval fantasy adventure with fighters and monsters. The animatronics were absolutely amazing! I loved the costumes and special effects, it was very cinematic. My highlight of the night was the Scooby x Universal Monsters expansion. The classic universal tram transported us to a unique experience. We had the opportunity to walk around a USH lot that was transformed into a Scooby mystery with stations that included clues and Mystery Inc. character meet-n-greets. All performers were top-notch, we took a picture with Scooby! The Bride of Frankenstein. Wolf Man, Dracula, Invisible Man, and Frankenstein's Monster ALL made appearances, performed incredible skits, and walked around the lot while interacting with visitors. Frankenstein and the Wolf Man SLAYED! I loved them! Merch was excellent at FanFest, they had plenty of shirts, backpacks, and enamel pins commemorating the event. I bought a Nope shirt because I'm lame and couldn't wait to buy it during a regular USH visit. I also spotted loads of collectible penny stations, I bought a few sets of collectible pennies! Staff at the gift shops were super polite and friendly. Note, this is a grueling experience if you had a full day before you arrive. It's incredibly fun but not for the faint of heart. We left at 1 am (which is closing time). Our feet were killing us but we have no regrets! read more

So very busy and crowded. You only have from 7pm until 1:30am. I say only because from the time you enter you are grouped in waves. The first wave lets you into the park but they stop you right at the end of the first crossroads and the second wave is still at the gate entrance. When they let in the first wave, we waited about 10 minutes or so, then they let in the second and so forth. Keep in mind if you need a disability access pass you must get in line for that. Every event is a line. Food is good for the pass at $59 but you only get 2 entrees and 4 snacks, desserts or drinks (nonalcoholic). I got to see One Piece and D&D show and that was it. The lines for food were ridiculously long and not worth it IMO. My $22.99 fried seafood rice was very small. Also, finding a table is definitely a challenge. I wanted to see Scooby Doo adventure but my daughter said it can take up to 3 hours to solve. I don't think doing any shopping during this time is a good idea. Less crowded in the beginning but losing event time. Early access gives you 2 extra hour but the difference in price of the general admission is significant. You definitely have to get here early for parking. Like I said, everything is crazy crowded. Be prepared to walk sideways occasionally. read more

Awesome night to enjoy immersive experiences and themes from anime to classic favorites. Last year was back to the future theme this year had 5 different experiences spread throughout the park upper, lower and tram area. Dungeons and dragons, sailor moon, one piece, scooby doo, and Mario word with all the different yoshi's. Jurassic park dinosaurs were displayed with walk thru and great photo ops in lower lot a lot of the rides didnt have much of a wait time can just walk on. Fan fest experiences had the longer waits. Can add on early access pass for an extra $20 when purchasing your ticket. Definitely worth it. Parking is not included with ticket. Explore the different lands featuring event only experiences. It was hard trying to fit everything in one night so hit your must stops first then if there's extra time explore the other lands. Some people spent a long time at the tram stop where it drops you off and you can become a detective with scooby doo. Looked fun trying to catch the bad guy revealed at the end with no re-entry after attending reveal. Character meet & greets throughout the different lands with themed food at designated restaurants. DEFINITELY WORTH IT. Went to Fan Fest the first time this year and I was a bit wary about this since I've seen how notoriously fisted some of the other Universal night events are (Halloween Horror Nights) and last year's Fan Fest I saw some recaps and reels about how poorly managed the lines were so I came in with extremely low expectations, so boy was I surprised! Went here with some out of state friends who haven't been to the Hollywood park, but have been to the Orlando one (they don't have Fan Fest there) and we opted to do the 2 PM entry since for only an extra $40 we got the extra 1.5 hours that they let the $20 early access in and even more. Perfect for experiencing the regular park during these hours. The early access may not be the most worth looking back since a lot of other attractions are gearing up to get ready or are closed until the main entrance at 7:30 PM. I think only a handful of meet and greets and experiences were available. For our visit, we were able to do everything except for the Scooby Doo experience since they cut off the timing for the trams to get to that area at around 11:45 PM and we were stuck in the Harry Potter Hippogriff experience. I think my only qualm, though it extends more to the park than this even itself is that the Universal app and time estimates are not the most accurate (Disney does keep a high standard), so what was a 5 minute wait didn't get updated to the true hour-ish that we waited in until 30 minutes in... Also, with that in mind, make sure to plan things accordingly. The One Piece show has 3 runs and accommodates a lot of people, the Sailormoon show runs until when the park closes, but other things like the Sailormoon Meet and Greet, tram to Scooby Doo, the Mario Kart ride, and much more have a specific cut off time. There's also themed food, but out of the parks in California, I think Universal has the poorest cost to quality ratio, so it wasn't a huge must to do the tasting card and to try a lot of it. Though I have to give it to Universal, the animatronics, stage set up, special effects, are spectacular and mind blowing. The Dungeons and Dragons and Harry Potter ones were phenomenal and even though it wasn't heavily advertised, I love the Jurassic Park legacy walk through. Can't believe I got John Hammond to welcome me to Jurassic Park and got to see lots of vehicles and other set pieces. As well as the Triceratops. Loved the iconic cell phone ring from the third movie near the Spinosaurus. The actors and meet and greets are super interactive and they're in character the entire time. People cosplay and dress up, adding to the fun of it all too. And in addition to that, waits for rides were almost non existent as well. Hands down, way better than any after dark Disney event I've gone to in terms of being able to do as much as possible and much shorter wait times. I'll definitely go again in the future! read more

None of the experiences start until 730. One piece live show was amazingg. If youre not a fan please watch the live action on netflix. Its enough for the show. Or even the first 50 episodes for the anime. I had some guy behind me explaining everything to the person next to him. Very distracting. But the show 6 stars/5 I knocked a star off because wait times for photos are soo long. You will have to be prepared to wait to get photo ops with the one piece cast since they do the show as well. Nintendo world had all the different colored yoshis and you have to solve a quiz if you want photo op with green yoshi and mario. Sailormoon was interesting. I will pass on the berry popcorn it was too sweet for me. Tasted like fruity pebbles for some though. Wished we were able to try out sanjis galley but it was wayy too long Videos might spoil.. actually i dont even know if they posted. read more

OMG! I heard of this last year with Star Trek but didn't think much of it. But this year (2026), she is the one name SAILOR MOON! So of course I have to go. Expectations exceeded. I thought all the merch will be gone (thanks a lot IG!), but I got to enjoy the food, the love, and the fun. Definitely a must. I came to Fan Fest last year and this year had it's positive and negatives. -Dungeons and Dragons was a repeat of last year but I'm okay with that, it was fun last year and fun again this year. -One Piece show was GREAT. I've never watched One Piece and I was still incredibly impressed and entertained by the show, so if you're a fan of the show, prepare to be blown away! -Harry Potter Forbidden Forest was cute and fun ONCE YOU GOT IN. The line said 45 minutes and it wound up being more than a 2 hour wait :/ -I was SO excited for Sailor Moon! The movie/theater show was good, I enjoyed it a lot, BUT Universal come on! You guys MISSED OUT on merch! Did you guys forget Sailor Moon would make you THOUSANDS of dollars? No Luna and Artemis shoulder buddies? No Compacts or Brooches?! No bubble Wand or Light Up Scepter?? Light Up Masks for Tuxedo Mask?? Not even a rose pin?! I could go on and on. You're Welcome for making you millions next year! Sailor Fans go HARD, do better next year. -The Monsters/Scooby Doo mashup was...confusing? The idea seemed like it could have worked but you get down to the bottom lot and you're just give a pamphlet with clues, the characters are just standing in one spot and didn't have much to say when i was there. I didn't expect to enjoy this years Universal Fanfest Night because of how much fun they did it last year with Back to the Future experience, but I have to say I had such a great time and experience, even though the only one that wasn't as good was Scooby-Doo experience...BUT the good thing was that the tram dropped us off at the European part, because that was where all the Monster movies were filmed back in the day, and that was wear the Scooby-Doo experience was...unless if you like solving mysteries you may like it. It was more like a meet and greet sort of experience, but that is just me. As someone who didn't grow up with Sailor Moon, I really enjoyed the show (like a 15 min short, animated), I loved the One Piece Life action!! I also enjoyed the cute little dance with four Yoshis at Nintendo Land. Also if you are platinum AP holder, if tickets still available, you can buy it for $49 and early entry by 1 hour or so. The Harry Potter Experience and Jurassic Park event was also great! Their last day is 5.16.26. Oh! When you are at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Experience make sure you try to get to the front and follow the Wizard, you can get more info and experience!! read more

An after dark event at Universal Studios Hollywood starts from 7:30pm-1:30am so much to do and see so little time. We started in the lower lot with Jurassic Park which wasn't advertised as part of the event but was the best out of all events this year got to interact with characters and see a couple shows and see some cool displays from all the movies. Then went to Dungeon and Dragons had no idea what that was I never played D&D ever my friends growing up played it but it was a show kinda entertaining. Then went to Super Nintendo Wotld to see the 4 different colored Yoshi's. When then hit the upper lot to see the One Piece show at Water World again had no idea what that was about but a good show I recommend it. Then went went to the Sailor Moon show that was entertaining but in Japanese with English Subtitles. Then went went did the Studio Tour to the backlot for the Scooby Doo Mystery which in my opinion was a waste you have to look around for clues and figure out who the guilty killer was there were interactions with characters as well as the monsters like Frankenstein, Werewolf , Bride of Frankenstein etc. that you would need a few hours to do but since we were crunch on time we just walked around to see and then left cause it was already 12:30am we didn't get to do or see the Harry Potter one that was a 90 minute wait for the walk through show. Overall it was a good event just a lot to do and see and to count in eating and possibly shopping for merch as well makes it crunch time. This was the second year of Fan Fest and it was pretty fun! The main theme was a mystery with the Scooby Dooby characters. If you like Scooby Doo and trying to solve puzzles, then you'd like it. There were also Fanfest shows like the One Piece show. I haven't watched One Piece but the show was awesome! Lots going on and the fans were reacting to all the characters. Made the show even more fun! They also had a Sailer Moon show and a D&D quest. The Dungeons & Dragons walk through was pretty awesome. And there are themed snacks and food for all the themed areas, from Sailor Moon cupcakes (pretty sweet imo) and churros, to One Piece alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I tried an island brown sugar milk tea. Not exactly my type of alcohol. Too sweet and the boba was more like gelatin? I dont know, if you like your mixed drink sweeter you might like it. All in all the family had fun and I hopefully its even better next year! read more

This is the first year that they're doing this event and we went on day 1! Such a neat event for fans all around. You get the entire park to yourself from 7pm-2am for the event! It's select nights only and lasts about a month. We got here just on time. Note that they do not accept your member parking pass for these events so we had to pay full price. Wasn't sure what to expect on Day 1 especially since it's the first time they're doing this but it was honestly great! The crowds were small, almost felt like an empty park at the end of the night on a normal day, not crowded whatsoever and wait times for everything didn't take long at all. Each franchise had their own little spot but you felt the energy throughout the park. They had DJ's and loud music everywhere so it didn't feel empty anywhere. The Harry Potter section will always be my favorite part of the park in general so my friends and I dressed as Hogwarts students (Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw) and mostly inspired from the Hogwarts Legacy game. The themed snacks that they had were alright, you get more for your buck from dining in the restaurants and eating the themed foods but everything still made for great pics. The churros were hard, stale, as if they've been sitting out all day but maybe they purposely did that for the frosting design they had so that they don't have to do it in real time and have long waits. Maybe they need to put it in some kinda food warmer or something because it was kind of unappetizing. They had a Time Turner Popcorn bucket for this event which was super cool, definitely a must for any Harry Potter fan. Loved meeting the Niffler, Occamy, and Baby Dragon. Everything was so well decorated, details galore. I don't want to spoil everything but really enjoyed the Dungeons & Dragons section and also the Back to the Future area. Super Nintendo World was packed and super busy, they didn't have it well thought out because we got reservations for Toadstool Cafe pretty easily and waited 30min in line to order, and weren't told it would be about another hour after we sit, for our food. We only found out from another family who had been waiting for over an hour and still haven't gotten their food. It's a time event and you only have a few hours to hit everything up, not waste time sitting around starving. We opted for the DnD area by Jurassic to grab small bites and cocktails which was way better than waiting an hour. Great way to experience universal studios - California. This was such a wonderful experience, and unfortunately only for a limited time. It was great to see the Universal Studio at night, with less traffic. The ride wait line was much shorter at night. I enjoyed the Mario Kart racing ride, and the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey, along with the studio tour to Back to Future! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Such a fun event and I hope they do it every year! The highlight for me was definitely Back to the Future on the backlot. I got to interact with every actor and they were on point. The sets were really well done. We did VIP and our tour guide Mike, was awesome--a lot of fun and let everyone take things at their own pace. We broke off the group once to do some rides and met back up and had no issue. I would say, I hope that they have a few more interactive spaces and maybe see about having a few more rides open. It was great to have the park until 2am (we stayed until 1) and the crowds were not bad! read more

This place sucked so much. Its a terrible event. I felt scammed and ripped off by getting the fast pass, the food and attraction. Only good thing is the jurassic park ride... the scooby doo event was the worst. It took like 30+ minutes to ride to the event, and when u get there its all pathetic, the god damn food was aweful, I bought the 22 inch hot dog and the tower sandwhich and scooby snacks and everything was so god damn disgusting. U buying this stuff to take pictures with, thats it... it was disgusting. Because it took so long to get to the scobby doo event we needed to rush back to go see the one piece show, which was really good. The sailor moon show was as terrible as the scooby do food. Plus we used the fast pass, it said 10 minutes with fast pass and 25 without... it took us 30 minutes to get in as well. The fast pass for the night event is a scam man. I really wanted a good night out but it sucked... Then the prices on everything man, like I heard over getting over charged and ripped off but this place takes it to a whole new level.. we got this weird looking scooby plush in, small nothing to it and it was 25 bucks, same with a even smaller Yoshi. Even Disney land was cheaper then universal stuff for similar products... on top of it, it cost 40 bucks to park there even at night time where a bunch of attractions weren't even open and this is the furthest away parking. I probably spent 5 to 700 bucks here to be miserable. Should have gone to the casino... well I can promise you this, universal is definitely not going broke any time soon, cause they will suck u dry. I miss the days were u can get a good experience for a fair price. These days we always say its inflation, but universal taking inflation prices from like 2050 in today's time. read more

The Doc Brown on the "Back To The Future" experience was too young to pass for the actual character. Honestly, I liked a lot of the experience for the nostalgia. I just don't know why it was so mediocre and Universal had to squeeze their budget so hard. They're probably still struggling with the financial ruin that hit so many businesses in LA after Covid. A lot of the effects and experiences aren't much better than a high-school play or church play, but the nostalgia was great. I also hate "The Simpsons". That show's been on way too long and needs to be taken out of its misery already. read more
