2019 Yelp 120 Challenge 2019 - #58 Unlawful Assembly Brewing Company is located on the 3rd floor of the Food Court of Legacy Hall. Unlawful Assembly has great beer flight selections and a beautiful view of the box garden below. Happy Hour is Monday - Friday from 3pm - 7pm with $3 Unlawful beers. Yum! You can order your favorite drinks from their inside bar or from their outside bar. I've been when the outside bar was open and when when it has been closed. When the outside bar door is closed them they will have employees walking around assisting with drinks and menu orders. My favorites beers are the Double Justice Imperial IPA, Blind Justice IPA, Rebel Faction, and Public Dissent Pale Ale. They also have delicious food items from their complimentary popcorn to their yummy lemon pepper chicken bits.

This is one of the most unusual breweries I think I've ever seen. It's up on top of the Legacy building. There are tours but only on Saturday so be sure to come back on Saturday. The people here are really super nice and they gave me all kinds of good ideas for Good Eats in the building. Don't forget to look outside there's some interesting eating areas actually outside and a garden area as well. The bartender was super helpful and help me make a really great selection. Only 6:50. Keep in mind that the entire building is card only. That means no cash. Except you can still give a tip in cash.

Fun local brewery in Plano and I'm bound to give at least 4-stars to any local craft brew place just for the sheer effort of doing the work. Their brown ale and passion pineapple are tasty. I didn't think the IPA was one of the better I've had, so I'm going to steer clear of those next time. Again, not because they aren't good - just not in my list of fav local IPAs. To be honest, we are spoiled for IPA choice in DFW. Taking the tour is fun and recommended. You'll be surprised at the size of operation they fit into a relatively small space. You'll also likely meet the brewmaster. That's worth the price of admission because it's clear he loves the craft and knows his stuff. We'd recommend getting a flight and trying several out. You won't be sorry! Unlawful is a great addition to the Plano scene and a totally fun place to spend an afternoon...particularly on the outdoor patio with a glass of brew.

This is a fun brewery located on the 3rd floor of Legacy Hall. You're free to roam around with your beer to make the next tough decision of what to eat among the several restaurants! I had the Passion Pineapple Dol Time ($6.50) which was sweet. The pineapple notes really stood out. There is indoor seating which has a cool library setting, the bar, and outdoor seating. They possibly have a live band / artist playing that night! Parking is plentiful at the parking structure.

The idol time pineapple passion fruit wheat was to die for. Very refreshing when it was 100 degrees! The fact it's in the food hall is a little bit of a bummer cause it's a little bit of a pain in the ass to park at and walk in. The crowds are mostly on the first two floors so we had cooler and less crowded seating up in the brewery which was nice. Overall a win.

On the third floor next to the bar, just come in on a Saturday, sign up at the bar for brewery tours at 1, 2, and 3PM!

My boyfriend and I took the brewery tour on Saturday and it was so much fun! We don't know anything about beer so we really liked learning about the process and being able to talk and ask questions during and after the tour was very enjoyable. Cody and Dave/Dan? (I'm so sorry I'm bad with names) were really super friendly and receptive and even gave us food recommendations for the rest of the food hall. The tour is $15 per person and comes with a free glass and two free beer coupons, honestly a steal for the great time we had! We tried Idol Time which was very sweet and I liked that one a lot. They also gave us Agave Lime to try during the tour and that's not on the menu at the bar but I'd definitely recommend that too, super subtle flavor and pleasant!

Fantastic beer and warm outside bar. Great for the season! Nitro stout and peachmonger are amazing!

Very nice microbrewery in Plano, quite a few IPA options, I had a flight that was mostly IPA. They are decent but not meet my mark yet. The bandit IPA and dissent pale ale are bit on the light side, and the double justice is overdone. I like the blind justice the most but I definitely had better IPA somewhere else.

Update: I initially really enjoyed this brewery. However, after having a second beer I was promptly told by the manager that my two drinks in two hours were too many for me. Not only did I feel I was being singled out for being a female, but also because this particular manager had not, as much as spoken to me for the entire time I was there. I can't believe the way I was treated, especially considering I had a DD. The manager at this bar didn't care about the safety of its patrons, but instead was only concerned with insuring that last call well before 1am, so he himself could go out and enjoy himself. I will not be patronizing this establishment again. For reference our bill was $30 total in a span of two and a half hours for 4 beers. My boyfriend never dealt with the obvious male preference, and I in turn was not capable of drinking two beers, from what I can only assume was a sexist decision making. Interestingly enough, I keep a breathalyzer in my purse and both my boyfriend and I blew under the legal limit. My suggestion would be to not frequent this brewery. They may have some good beers on tap, but that doesn't make up for their lack of customer service. This place has great beer and great live music. I highly recommend the Passion Pineapple Wheat beer. It has a smooth summer taste!

Beer is poor quality, not a craft beer location for beer snobs. The beer tasted like it was all from extract and no creativity with beer selection. I don't think they have added any thing new in 3 years! Disappointed on Father's Day for sure...

The restaurant itself has a real cool hip vibe, definitely up my alley. I ordered myself the beer cheese-steak (with fries) and a blue sapphire cocktail - these. were. AMAZING! They even have a "micro brewers menu" aka kids menu, my son chose the mini smashburgers with chips. He loved it so much, there was nothing left on his plate at the end. They have a bunch of board games available to use while dining so my son and I grabbed a Jurassic Park matching game, this was a super fun activity to do together while munching away. We had a wonderful time here and will surely be back soon. :)

The decor and theme are inspired by New Orleans/Creole/Cajun vibes, and it's beautifully put together. The layout of the location is a slight "L" shape, so seating can be a bit limited during busy times. It's a seat-yourself setup, and they provide QR codes at the tables for you to place your order and pay when you're ready. Now, onto the food and service. Unfortunately, the wait for both food and drinks were longer than expected, even as the rush began to die down. Our pretzel appetizer didn't arrive until near the end of our meal, and sadly, it was overcooked. Drinks The beer was great and a definite highlight of the experience. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Giant Pub Pretzel ($13.99): A 12.05 oz pretzel served with signature beer cheese and beer mustard. Unfortunately, this dish was a disappointment. Despite being called "Giant," the pretzel was thin, and was a bit overcooked. While we enjoyed the beer cheese, the beer mustard could have stayed in the kitchen. Loaded Broccoli ($8.99): Steamed broccoli seasoned with Cajun spices, topped with melted cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or pulled pork. I chose chicken, which was delicious and well-seasoned. However, the cheese was a huge letdown, it had an odd, roux-like texture and flavor that nearly made the dish inedible. Entrée Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza ($12.99): Made with roasted garlic pesto, fresh mozzarella, thick-cut pickles, and a special Voo-Dill seasoning. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short. The pizza crust was undercooked, and the pickles seemed like they were added at the very end instead of being baked with the pizza. The garlic pesto was the highlight of this dish. Desserts -King Cake Slice ($3.XX): Clearly store-bought and not made in-house. It also took a while to reach our table, which was odd considering it's pre-packaged. The kitchen area even had the King Cake box visible. Beignets ($7.99): Over-fried and served with icing that was overly lemony, which overpowered the dish. Side Order Jalapeño Slaw ($2.99): The star of the meal! It had the perfect balance of mayo and vinegar, with a fresh kick from the jalapeños and Cajun spices. I wish I had ordered more! I think this place has a lot of potential. The concept is fantastic, but the kitchen needs improvement. I do plan to return and give it another try because the space and the idea are great. Hopefully, next time the food lives up to the vision!

Music was loud enough to where I could hear my husband across the table but not anyone else around me. We could still hear the comforting sound of the fountain and fans that blew a cooling mist too! We ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer and it came out in literally 60 seconds. Bread didn't taste like pretzels, but it was tasty and the sauces yummy. Like, I could order the bites and some beers and be perfectly content. But I was here for the fish n chips and I was so happy! I'd have preferred a full filet of fish, but the batter was so crispy and salty (I love salt!). Fries were okay and basic but not bad with malt vinegar (I can literally drink that stuff!). Husband got the elite brisket flatbread. It was huge and honestly we'll probably just split this next time we come. It was delicious and back of the throat spicy, but the toppings were outstanding and brisket was tender!! Service was soooo quick and easy and the waitress has the decency to look away as you tip. I was so impressed with this experience! I'm an introvert and hate trying to new things, but this may be my favorite spot now! We were there 7/11/26 at 12 pm. We ordered the Boss Hog flatbread, chips and queso, and two margaritas the Skinny Bear on the rocks and the Caddy frozen margarita. We definitely enjoyed the happy hour discounts, which made the visit even better. We started with our drinks, and both margaritas were mixed very well. The Skinny Bear did seem a little stronger, but both had great flavor and were easy to enjoy. For appetizers, we ordered the chips and queso. The chips were thin, crispy, and had a nice dash of seasoning on them, but we do wish they had been served hot. The queso was warm, but not piping hot, and the texture was a little gritty, almost powder-like. We were expecting a creamier cheese, so it was good, but not our favorite part of the meal. Now, the star of the show was definitely the Boss Hog flatbread. It was cooked to perfection, baked really well, and had that nice crispy texture. The toppings were generous, and every bite had great flavor. I would absolutely order it again. The ambiance was also amazing. We loved being able to see the brewery, and the dim lighting set a cool, relaxed tone. The employees were nice, friendly, and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. I would definitely come back to try more menu items, and I recommend Union Bear for a cute date night, happy hour, or a laid back evening with good drinks and food.
