A friend of mine mentioned this place because of their toppings. I honestly don't know if it's worth it. The milk tea is very sweet. They are pre-made in pitchers and kept in the cooler until they run out. I hope they are at least made fresh everyday! Their toppings are intense. I liked the mango jellies the best. Strong artificial mango flavor but quite fruity. I was in line outside for about 30 minutes. After ordering, it took another 11 minutes to receive my order. They were not clear about what I was getting. They just handed me a slip for their basic milk tea with 8 toppings. This special is actually $14 as it absolutely must come with an ice bucket. Alternatively, if you chose 7 $2 toppings (with a max limit of style 2 per topping), which I'm not sure they have many of (check the paper, not my memory), then I'm sure you could get your money's worth - on paper. This special runs until sometime April and I know this ONLY because someone made a comment on their Instagram, and not because of the cafe themselves. Came here tonight after a meal in the area for a friend's birthday dinner since we had both seen on social media about the cute cooler buckets and colorful jellies. Both my friend and I had placed our order together and everything moved decently and the cashier taking our order in front was friendly as well. I had chosen the green thai milk tea and my friend had decided on the corn milk as our choice of drink and it was nice that they had packaged the drink and jellies separately (bonus that they were thoughtful enough to give the coolers a rinse before pouring in the drinks). They were both pretty tasty, with the green thai tea not too sweet, having a strong tea flavor and corn milk was pretty good according to my friend as well. However, the girl that was serving us in choosing our jellies was not the most pleasant (maybe due to a long day but having worked in the service industry myself before, that shouldn't be an excuse) and I also noticed that not all the scoops were consistent as I saw some scoops were fuller than others (consistency please). My friend and I were curious for some of the jelly flavors as there were no clear labels but when asking the girl behind the counter, it was very hard to hear her due to the loud music/environment and her low voice volume. I had to repeat some of her answers to my friend as I was able to catch some of it but it was evident that she just wanted us to choose our jellies and move on. Furthermore, much to my disappointment and disgust, upon arriving home, I opened up my box of jellies to find a dead bug on top of the donut! It is really frustrating as well due to the fact that my friend and I had drove over an hour to the area and then another hour back home only to be met with this repulsive discovery leading to being unable to stomach tasting the other jellies in the same box. ** please check your purchase before leaving the store!! I was overall disappointed by my experience today as it was so hyped up on social media everywhere only to be met with disappointing results. Fun fact, Unu translates to "chubby" in Vietnamese! Teehee! Teas may have been around for decades, but the plethora of toppings and jellies, that's a Vietnamese twist. For the longest time I thought I would have to go back to the motherland for these pretty, colorful, multi-textural teas, but Unu Cafe brought them to the OC! Unu is a really cute little spot that features Vietnamese drinks, desserts and snacks. Full Topping Milk Teas $7: they are a few milk tea choices to pick from, and sweetness levels are adjustable. Their Thai Tea and Jasmine Milk Tea aren't bad, but aren't the best. I prefer the Traditional Black Milk Tea at 100% sweetness. My topping choices change all the time, but they're all very pretty and fun to eat. Fruit Teas: I've tried their Soursop Jasmine Green Tea, I'm usually a fan of Soursop and Jasmine Tea but maybe not together? I probably won't reach for it again but the Honey Lemon Tea and Strawberry Green Tea are both tasty and refreshing! I love that there are bits of actual Strawberry in the strawberry tea. Love their fruit teas for when I'm wanting a less sweet thirst quencher. Vietnamese Che $6 (Dessert Soup): My favorite Che is Che Thai which is fruity, milky and chilled.. Unu does theirs is dairy based, it with a variety of jellies, crystal boba, lychee, jackfruit, cubed chestnut and topped with shaved ice. Durian is optional and extra, but not in my books, it is mandatory! This is the exact dessert I crave on a warm sunny day. Despite being so busy, service is always been nice. They're very good with topping recommendations too. Pricing, I'd say is pretty decent, you get a lot for the local/average price. There are a few seats and tables in house but I prefer to grab and go as it's a bit tight and they're usually busy. UNU is my favorite spot for both fruit tea and milk tea loaded with toppings! The topping bar looks amazing and makes it so fun to pick. Their menu is super diverse and they're always adding new drinks. My personal favorite is the Pineapple Plum Tea, so refreshing! Exploring Westminster today and found this place for a cold drink. They specialize in tea drinks with all kinds of cool shaped flavored jellies. We ordered at the counter and the person who helped us was really helpful in answering our questions. My daughter got the mini drink cooler with 6 jellies and I had the tropical tea drinks with fresh fruit. The tropical drink was jasmine tea based included lychee, strawberries, guava, mango and dragon fruit for $7. So delicious and refreshing, totally worth it with how much fruit it came with! Once we ordered the mini cooler you wait your turn to be called to the counter to select your jellies. The person helping us could tell it was our first time and we got a bonus jelly the jellies are given to you in a separate container, so we tasted each one and the flavors were so distinct and yummy! I also got a che thai that was also amazing. i also bought a pack of jackfruit and they were perfectly ripe. The person taking my order was so sweet and gave me a free sample of some chips as well. The place can be pretty busy and it's a little small but not too loud or anything. Might have to move aside a couple times to let people by but you could also wait outside on a chair. The best item here is the coconut paradise. They have coconut jelly's and makupuno coconut meat--which makes it interesting. They offered to put my crushed ice on the side which was nice! I also ordered a Jasmin Tea Soursop and a Pandan Coffee. Both drinks were a little off to me, not sure why. The soursop drink's texture was a bit weird and I felt like the flavors didn't blend with each other too well. The pandan coffee had no pandon flavor. It reminded me of green food coloring. I learned about this place thru social media on Instagram and really wanted to check them out. It's a lil drink/dessert shop with really friendly workers that are super helpful and very patient. You gotta place your order 1st and then given a number. The workers will call your number and then the fun begins with you picking your toppings for your drink. I was intrigued by this shops variety of toppings. I ordered the corn milk with 6 toppings and I also ordered some toppings on the side because I honestly wanted to try them all but I contained myself and only got 11 different ones lol. The variety of flavors, shapes and colors is like nothing I've ever seen at a drink shop. I really enjoyed the corn milk and it went so well with the toppings. All the toppings were great but my faves were the Doraemon which was pistachio panna cotta and the Winnie the Pooh which was cacao panna cotta. I've tried their Multi-topping Oolong milk tea in two different forms so far- once in cup form and once in a bucket form. With the wide array of chewy toppings (ranging from meh to decent to delectable), RICH milk teas (deliciously strong with tea flavor and creamy, maybe a little too creamy, from Non-dairy creamer), and fun consumption experience (simultaneously eating and drinking with a straw and spoon), the offerings I've tried simultaneously feel like both a milk tea beverage and a dessert. Things to note: - The cups are good for one person but you'll definitely need to be sharing the buckets with friends or family. I suggest getting this with people who aren't 'germiphobic' as well as no one that's sick. - Despite the teamwork required to share the bucket, lol, there's no seating. BEWARE: Their drinks do NOT have a sealed lid, they are open lids. On the drive back home the drinks spilled in the car. We also ordered their milk tea bucket but also beware that the drink leaks at the top! The lid is not secure! Vietnamese fruit shop turned boba shop! Discovered this place a little bit ago and tried their Soursop Jasmine Green Tea & Mango Tea (this was before they added yakult!).
