They forgot to add durian in my Che thai :( I guess it was the way the tickets were placed

Christina N.

This convenience store has basically anything you could want to snack on. There are sections for pre-packaged Vietnamese snacks, but also pre-cut fruit and the accompanying chili salt. In the back, you can order bubble tea with just about any topping you can think of. There were a few people working just on the teas, so they moved fast. My highlight, though, was the corn milk, which is exactly what it sounds like. While it's pretty decadent (it contains heavy cream), the corn flavor is strong and it's not terribly sweet. What helps is using it as an addition to a coffee or matcha, or just watering it down with some ice.

You go for the fun! Just do it. Kids will love all the cute fun shape and options for jelly/panna cotta toppings. The tea bases are really sweet and you can't adjust the sweetness as it's pre made but overall, fun spot. It's inside of this Vietnamese convenient store with easy parking

So I see mixed reviews here for this Unu Cafe. I haven't tried anything else here other than the che Thai dessert. I have had it at many other dessert places in the area and I vote this to be the best! After getting the avocado coconut pudding dessert next door, per my sister's suggestion, we walked over here to get other types of dessert. What she was looking for was discontinued, according to the person that served us. So we went with the Thai dessert with extra durian and that was amazing! They did such a good job with that dessert and was generous with all the jello and fruit inside the cup. The dessert is $7 (twice as much as another popular dessert place that is about a block away, but the portion here is twice as big). And for $1 extra, you'll get one scoop of durian (my favorite!). One issue though, the lid was super tough to open. I couldn't open it and had to take a knife to cut across the top! Got to find out next time I'm there what's the trick to get it to open. :) Now I understand why this place is always crowded. A must return, for sure, since I eat a lot of these desserts and love flavored tea.

Persimmon matcha

Nicely decorated store packed with Vietnamese snacks, fruit, yogurt, and drinks. Unique drink toppings and drinks for decent pricing. Have been a customer for a few years and would recommend their yogurt drinks, like the strawberry yogurt drink. Nice yogurt flavor with fresh strawberries and popping boba. Went for their matcha tote promotion. The persimmon matcha had good persimmon and good matcha. But i would not personally drink them together. Persimmon was in big chunks and hard to drink with the matcha.

i haven't tried their snacks yet but their drinks are delicious!! they keep coming out with new unique drinks that hit every time!!! the service are incredible! the baristas let you try samples and they always have recommendations based on what you like too. It's a very casual settings, no dine-in, only takeout but highly recommend!

Tropical Tea

Unu Cafe is my absolute favorite and my go to spot on a hot, sunny day! Their drinks are consistently crisp, refreshing, and bright in flavor. I'd recommend the Tropical Tea, which is my favorite ^_^. The base is a Jasmine tea blend with strawberry, lychee, and guava! Then it's topped with fresh cut sweet mango, dragon fruit, lychee, strawberry, and mangosteen. It's so yummy I order it every single time. Aside from their cooling iced drinks, they sell lots of fresh fruits and have a very large assortment of Vietnamese savory snacks, sweets, and more! They're also famous for their wide selection of cute, fun jellies that you can add into any of their milk teas. When I went yesterday the gentleman working was so very kind and had a big welcoming smile on his face! It was another great experience, like always.

Layers cake with molds

Bought two layers desert cakes $8 each, Both cakes taken out from their cooler one is very delicious, The other has molds on it, we live too far away to return it for $8 refund, bummer, ;(

A Vietnamese snack shop that now serves drinks in a terrible parking lot. No seating indoor nor outdoor so it's exclusively a to-go shop. While the line was long on a Sunday afternoon, the staff worked quickly. The mini coolers only allowed milk teas, no substitutions and 6 jellies. Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea: a little too sweet but a decent tea flavor. Not really osmanthus but at least it was authentic tea. Jelly: lots of cute designs but the flavors were not very strong. Mostly everything tasted like coconut, pandan, or regular sugar jello. The banana jello and cheese jello did taste accurate though. Quinn's Bakery in Garden Grove makes tastier jellies and is a similar concept with indoor seating. Overall, if you enjoy Vietnamese snacks or prepared fruit, it's a convenient location but very crowded.

SERVICE & AMBIANCE: A hole in the wall spot that is pretty tight but serves delicious drinks and desserts. When you walk in the right side of the cafe is a little market where you can buy snacks and desserts. The line was long but the service was quick and sweet. The cashier was so bright and cheerful to every customer. FOOD ^.^: You must try the milk tea boba with various toppings. Don't be scared to try all the different jellies they are all so good in the milk tea. Their fruit panna cotta was so delicious as well.

My bucket with milk tea. We then choose to put what toppings we want to put in on our own time.

What a fun experience! While having some of the staple Vietnamese snacks and regular boba type drinks, I went to check out their build a bucket. Here's how it goes: 1. Pick a bucket (I picked a mini cooler looking bucket) 2. Pick your drink (I picked milk tea) 3. For about $16, you get the bucket, drink and pick 8 toppings (like boba, jelly and they have some really special jellos that sometimes count as 2 toppings) Drink and eat! Service was great! It's a small shop in a pretty hustling shopping center. The reason for the 4 stars was Inreally wanted to experience eating/dunking there, but they didn't have seats and the buckets come with the drink in them, but the toppings on a separate container (which I did like), and swished around. We got milk tea all over ourselves a bit. It was fine, but I hope they can expand one day and have seats for people to sit and enjoy! All in all a fun experience, milk tea was good and so were the toppings. We will be back and we loved our buckets!

Kristen L.

The prices are reasonable, and the tea tastes just right. The fruit tea is fresh, and there are plenty of topping options. It's a Vietnamese-owned tea shop that has really made a name for itself in this area. I like their Dalat jasmine milk tea and Mangosteen Passionfruit tea.

UNU Cafe is such a fun milk tea spot. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea came in a cute ice cooler , and it was very flavorful , fragrant, and not overly sweet. I love the mini ice cooler, so cute.

I was very disappointed when I received my drink and noticed that this café uses a strawberry jam compote. It made my drink very thick and unevenly distributed throughout my sipping experience because of how heavy the jam is compared to the milk and Matcha. I also tried on a separate trip the lychee tea, which was OK. The reviews are right when they mention the drinks are very sugar forward very sweet and I did have the barista reduce the sweetness in my tea, but the syrup used for the lychee just doesn't make well for the type of experience that I'm used to when I purchase tea from other competing stores.

They've also got a nice little patio to just rest and relax at while you enjoy your drinks. I've had a few pretty deep conversations coming out of this place. Okay, even though I did come to a coffee shop, I did end up getting a hojicha latte that was roasty, nutty, and delicious alongside the vanilla notes that they add. Great choice for some of you who don't do so well with caffeine. It's easy to drink, and thoughtfully prepared! I got something a little different. It was a strawberry co-ferment espresso in a cappuccino ratio. You could really taste that strawberry come through, and having it hot and with milk was a perfect choice. Fruity, complex, and funky! Love to see places serving co-ferments. I don't think it's over-played in specialty coffee, and I do appreciate having the option! And, I didn't get it today, but getting a fancy pour-over at this spot really hits. If you coffee sweats like the fun stuff, you'll have plenty of that here! I think they could've used more ice because it was a hot summer day, and that would have helped lessen the sweetness. They also didn't fill the cup all the way unlike other matcha places I've tried. Service: Ngl it was kinda slow. The workers were nice, but it took a while to get out my drink. We did come on a Friday afternoon but honestly it wasn't even THAT busy imo. Vibes: chill vibes, some ppl were studying and some ppl were yapping. There was both indoor and outdoor seating so overall a good hangout spot for a small group. Big group might struggle to find seating tho Parking: Plenty of parking cus it's in a decent sized plaza Overall I would recommend!

The cashier who helped me out answered questions I had and helped me pick out the drink. I got the espresso einspanner and it was average. The espresso is pre-batched and sort of had a weird bitter taste you wouldn't expect from coffee. The cream top definitely made it taste better. If they make the espresso latte base the same way without a cream top, I recommend to get a specialty drink or any drink with a cream top. It was kind of expensive for what it is.
