Love the tropical tea here. So refreshing. Love that it's full of fruits as well. I always ask for less sweet.
This convenience store has basically anything you could want to snack on. There are sections for pre-packaged Vietnamese snacks, but also pre-cut fruit and the accompanying chili salt. In the back, you can order bubble tea with just about any topping you can think of. There were a few people working just on the teas, so they moved fast. My highlight, though, was the corn milk, which is exactly what it sounds like. While it's pretty decadent (it contains heavy cream), the corn flavor is strong and it's not terribly sweet. What helps is using it as an addition to a coffee or matcha, or just watering it down with some ice.
I discovered this place from an Instagram Ad a couple years ago, followed them, & finally got to try them after so many years. It's so hard to find a cafe that has all these special & unique flavors where I live, so it was so fun picking what to order. We actually got 4 drinks to try even though it was just me & my sister. The store is located in a strip mall/plaza so parking can be a little full. It was smaller than I expected but they made such efficient use of their space as their market & cafe are located in the same space. Market had a lot of flavored rice paper & tamarind. It was fun to look through while waiting for our drinks. Service was very polite & efficient. Someone was cutting & prepping fresh fruit like jackfruit & green mangos for sale. Everything was so lively. A few doors down they have another store that has other items like fresh & dried fruit. Drinks: We got the soursop jasmine, mango passion fruit yogurt, mangosteen summer, & guava oolong. Yogurt was my favorite. It was flavor packed (yoplait type yogurt flavor & texture) & even if the ice melts, it would still be full of flavor. I was surprised to find that the passion fruit flavor was from popping boba. The teas were good. We took them all for family to try & the popular pick was the guava. Soursop being the least favorite as the jasmine/bitterness was a bit overpowering. I thought I'd try the toppings but actually decided not to add any (kinda overwhelmed by all the choices) but even without any toppings, the drinks were sufficient & fulfilling enough. We look forward to trying the other items when in the area!
You go for the fun! Just do it. Kids will love all the cute fun shape and options for jelly/panna cotta toppings. The tea bases are really sweet and you can't adjust the sweetness as it's pre made but overall, fun spot. It's inside of this Vietnamese convenient store with easy parking
So I see mixed reviews here for this Unu Cafe. I haven't tried anything else here other than the che Thai dessert. I have had it at many other dessert places in the area and I vote this to be the best! After getting the avocado coconut pudding dessert next door, per my sister's suggestion, we walked over here to get other types of dessert. What she was looking for was discontinued, according to the person that served us. So we went with the Thai dessert with extra durian and that was amazing! They did such a good job with that dessert and was generous with all the jello and fruit inside the cup. The dessert is $7 (twice as much as another popular dessert place that is about a block away, but the portion here is twice as big). And for $1 extra, you'll get one scoop of durian (my favorite!). One issue though, the lid was super tough to open. I couldn't open it and had to take a knife to cut across the top! Got to find out next time I'm there what's the trick to get it to open. :) Now I understand why this place is always crowded. A must return, for sure, since I eat a lot of these desserts and love flavored tea.
I'm not sure why this is a separate Yelp page, but I guess this may be for the drink order part in the back of the cafe versus the rest of the business which operates like a snack shop. There was a good amount of parking when we went, but I know that it can get quite fisted and busy, especially during peak hours. I went here 30 minutes before closing and there was a decent line of people in front and behind me to get some sweet dessert drinks. It's around $1+ for some of their jellies and toppings, so the best bet really is to get the build your own 6 topping drinks since it's included in the order and if you do the math, it comes out to less than paying an extra $6 on top of the base cost of the drink. I got their 6 topping corn milk as it's a more unique drink and I do love myself some corn. They sell this bottled in the little fridge section for like $7. Drink is quite sizeable and they WILL go over the top of the cup into the bubble lid if the toppings offset the level of liquid, so be careful not to spill! For toppings, I got the matcha and taro panna cotta, cheese pudding, Thai koi, oolong jasmine boba, and corn jelly. Just know that the syrups that are scooped in and absorbed from the toppings are going to eventually seep into your drink too, so it can start out sweet and get even sweeter. The drink is definitely more of a dessert reminiscent of Vietnamese dessert soup che, just an FYI. I think my only qualm and they unfortunately hit this pet peeve is when businesses give preferential treatment to family/friends at the inconvenience of actual paying customers. There was an entire family ahead of me, several people behind me but this dude (not with the family mind you), walked up to the toppings bar and asked one of the workers for a drink and SUPER FILLED it to the brim with honestly way more than 6 toppings. In Vietnamese (excuse my poor skills), he was calling the worker "teacher", flirting with him with terms of endearment, calling him cute and precious, laughing all the way and the worker just had the most neutral, unemotional face so honestly I can't tell if he was getting heckled and bullied by an unfortunate acquaintance or if it was normal. Regardless, it was massively annoying. If it wasn't someone I was close to do doing that to me while I'm at work, you bet I'm gonna go tell them to wait in line. Not bad overall but eugh.
Nicely decorated store packed with Vietnamese snacks, fruit, yogurt, and drinks. Unique drink toppings and drinks for decent pricing. Have been a customer for a few years and would recommend their yogurt drinks, like the strawberry yogurt drink. Nice yogurt flavor with fresh strawberries and popping boba. Went for their matcha tote promotion. The persimmon matcha had good persimmon and good matcha. But i would not personally drink them together. Persimmon was in big chunks and hard to drink with the matcha.
6 topping jasmine milk tea is my favorite, their new taro ball has real taro inside, and the water chestnut boba is yummy. I got a free drink as reward after going a few times. Friendly staffs. Just parking is difficult.
i haven't tried their snacks yet but their drinks are delicious!! they keep coming out with new unique drinks that hit every time!!! the service are incredible! the baristas let you try samples and they always have recommendations based on what you like too. It's a very casual settings, no dine-in, only takeout but highly recommend!
A Vietnamese snack shop that now serves drinks in a terrible parking lot. No seating indoor nor outdoor so it's exclusively a to-go shop. While the line was long on a Sunday afternoon, the staff worked quickly. The mini coolers only allowed milk teas, no substitutions and 6 jellies. Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea: a little too sweet but a decent tea flavor. Not really osmanthus but at least it was authentic tea. Jelly: lots of cute designs but the flavors were not very strong. Mostly everything tasted like coconut, pandan, or regular sugar jello. The banana jello and cheese jello did taste accurate though. Quinn's Bakery in Garden Grove makes tastier jellies and is a similar concept with indoor seating. Overall, if you enjoy Vietnamese snacks or prepared fruit, it's a convenient location but very crowded.
SERVICE & AMBIANCE: A hole in the wall spot that is pretty tight but serves delicious drinks and desserts. When you walk in the right side of the cafe is a little market where you can buy snacks and desserts. The line was long but the service was quick and sweet. The cashier was so bright and cheerful to every customer. FOOD ^.^: You must try the milk tea boba with various toppings. Don't be scared to try all the different jellies they are all so good in the milk tea. Their fruit panna cotta was so delicious as well.

SOO CUTEE!! The front has a mini market vibe and then it opens up into a dessert spot with a million toppings. There were so many adorable ones I was honestly a little overwhelmed. I got the jasmine milk tea with six toppings and was pleasantly surprised by how strong the tea flavor was. The peach jelly had a really nice texture, soft and bouncy. Some of the bigger toppings had a slightly thick texture that was not my favorite but so cute . I tried the oolong boba but didn't really taste the oolong much. Love their concept of having a variety of selections for toppings. Each of the toppings are nicely made and tasted very good. Although the big size toppings pretty much tasted the same. Their teas tasted more on the sweeter side so if you don't like sweet milk tea, maybe ask them to put less sugar. One of my favorite from them is che thai, it tasted amazing. The jackfruit is fresh which is my favorite. They also have yummy panna cotta that I would get to eat after since they are okay in the fridge a day after. read more

Wow, talk about TOPPINGS! There are is an overwhelming amount of toppings at Unu Cafe. And I didn't know a cafe like this even existed! We happened upon it when we were walking to get some BBH a few doors down and I made a mental note to NOT order too much food for dinner so I can have room for some milk tea + TOPPINGS. Unu Cafe has a small foot print with some prepackaged snacks, jellies/panna cottas, and drinks for sale, in addition to the made to order drinks. The line to the cashier/ordering will have you go through the refrigerated premade jellies/panna cottas and prepackaged snacks. Once you order, you can pick a spot somewhere (out of the way lol) until they call your number. If you're ordering a drink with toppings, then you'll go over to the refrigerated display where the staff will scoop toppings into your drink. I ordered the full topping milk tea - meaning I chose my tea base + six (6) toppings. I got jasmine milk tea, jasmine oolong crystal, Chinese jelly, pandan jelly, Thai tea koi, coffee cheese jelly, and sunflower jelly. - Jasmine milk tea: surprisingly good. A little sweet despite ordering 50% sweetness or whatever recommended sweetness. - jasmine oolong crystal: chewy and strong jasmine flavor. Oolong flavor was overpowered by the floral jasmine, I think. Not bad if you're a fan of jasmine. - Chinese jelly & sunflower jelly: these jellies didn't stand out for me, and I could not tell what flavors they were :x - Pandan jelly: great pandan flavor and texture. - Thai tea koi: visually beautiful - I wish I got a picture of it before it made it to my drink! There were crystal boba inside the koi, too :O Flavor wise, it was light in Thai tea flavor. - coffee cheese jelly: coffee forward. don't remember the cheese. Unu Cafe is a cool place to try at least once, and maybe come back to if you're a fan of jellies/toppings! I enjoyed my cup of jasmine milk tea and toppings, and appreciated that the toppings had separate and distinct flavors, for the most part. I imagine parking can be challenging on weekends, as this cafe is in the same plaza as many different restaurants, and shops. There also isn't seating in this cafe, so you'd have to enjoy your drink & jellies in the car, or wait until you get home to share. read more
The 1st time I came, they were giving out free Panna cotta. That was such a smart idea because I'm hooked!! The corn smoothie is definitely the star. I bought the bucket and get to choose a couple toppings. My favorite is the coconut jelly and the Thai tea fish. My daughter took my bucket so I have to come back to get another one. Customer service is amazing!! They explained the drinks and toppings. Awesome service despite the long lines. There's no seat so it's to go only. But they place is so cute and tiny. They are filled with many goodies. My eyes was more hungry than my tummy as I grabbed to many things, . Definitely be back to buy a refill. read more

Our family went inside and brought around $400 worth of Banh trang. Before we purchased the stuffs, we asked a front staff about a fruit on the counter but the girl answered was not very helpful. I also overheard another customer asked the same cashier for recommendation and she didn't help either. The service was not great from her but we were able to check out with a different cashier near the coffee counter. They do have another store in the same plaza. I'll check that place out next time. read more

Found out about this cafe and all the toppings from my niece who heard from a friend who heard from a friend who prob heard from a friend. Regardless, what a cool spot! I have yet to find a place that is similar - offering an array of toppings! I had no idea how to place an order, but they were really patient with me. Since I wanted a few other toppings, I just paid a few extra dollars so I could try different things! For some of the toppings, they will only give you one, which is fine cause it ends up taking over the whole drink! The overall store is easy / lots of different snacks to consider, but yes, the main attraction is the drink and the various toppings available. Parking can get kind of tight, so just be cautious of that and prepare your patience as you pull up the shopping center. The ambiance of the store is clean, lots of delicious Asian snacks to try, and other stores closeby to check out too. A great novelty find for something new to try! read more

Unu Cafe has quickly become one of my current favorites for fresh fruit tea drinks. They use real, in-season fruits--especially Vietnamese fruits--which makes each drink taste extra fresh and unique. I love that they're generous with the fruit pieces and don't skimp. Another big plus is that their menu changes based on what's in season, so there's always something new and exciting to try. You can really taste the freshness in every sip. Definitely a go-to spot for fruit tea lovers! read more

I came here specifically to try their corn milk. It's a small mom-and-pop spot, and you can tell they make or prep most of their items in house. I really appreciate that they make their own corn milk. The only downside for me was that the milk itself is quite thick, and the corn husks aren't fully strained. Aside from that, I'd still come back and try something else on the menu. read more

Fruit tea options and topping options go CRAZY here. It a bit overwhelming to know what to pick but once you found something you like you can't help but go back. Here's my top two drink recs for first timers: Tropical tea with bon bon (50% sweet full ice)-- refreshing fruit tea with assorted tropical fruits Jasmine milk tea (inclusive of 6 Toppings) (75% sweet full ice)- not too sweet but satisfying and fragrant milk tea My super sweet tooths-- black milk tea might be something for you (but unfortunately not for me) Ordering is super fast but drinks might take a bit to be make. Nevertheless, it's so worth it. Browse all the imported snacks while you wait! I love any of the rice paper snacks or mini chip bags. When they call you up, they will ask you about the toppings you want for the drinks with included toppings (usually milk teas). And honestly all the toppings are really good, pick any that call to you like the cheese snapped one or the koi fish one. You can just point or tell them the color or shape of it to make it easier too! Parking-- small plaza- I like to go at night when there are less people, if you are going during the day, you will have to fight a bit with all the people trying to eat read more

I really like their corn milk here. It was really good & I thought their topping concept was very cool & unique. unfortunately when I came they ran out of the famous giant bucket for their milk tea with toppings so I was a bit disappointed. but overall i still really liked this place! read more

UNU has some of the most delicious and unique drinks I've found locally -- the kind of flavors that instantly take me back to what you might find in Vietnam. Their teas taste fresh and authentic, with real fruit pieces in every cup and a sweetness level that's always perfectly balanced -- never too sweet. My all-time favorite is the Coco Delight -- creamy, refreshing, and just the right blend of tropical flavors. Super nice service, cute little shop and honestly good value for getting the cooler, tea and toppings!! Jasmine milk tea was okay, not as tea flavored as I prefer. Loved the mango jellies but some of the other jellies didn't have as much flavor as I expected! I have longed to come here and was on my to go list the next time we were in SoCal. The place is warm but the service was great. My husband I ordered the box and for the price, it was well worth it especially choosing eight toppings. Here's the caveat though, you can only choose a topping once, no repeats. The cutest boba toppings! This was during one of the boba bucket promotions: a drink, toppings, keepsake bucket - which you get to choose, I picked a mini cooler. A long line that moved quickly. They give you an order form to pick your drink and toppings. They gave us a free snack while waiting in line. Parking was a bit of a challenge. A overdue review! I recently discovered Unu Unu Café and have been back weekly for one particular thing: Roasted Rice Oolong Milk Tea with 6 chosen toppings of my choice 100% Sweetness is actually not that sweet and it's perfect! The teas here are SO fragrant and flavorful. I would say I'm quite a tea snob. The young workers here are so để thương and friendly. There is no place to really sit and enjoy your snack and drinks so this is more of a to go type place. I will continue to come back for as long as their quality and good service stays consistent. Also, don't get Unu Cafe (shop on the left) confused with Unu Unu (shop on the right). Unu Unu on the right sells more snacks from Vietnam and fruits. Drinks are on the left store! read more
Unu keeps popping up on Instagram and I finally checked it out. I was really looking for those buckets! There's a lot going on with their menu display so my eyes were getting tired, thankfully the employee behind the counter was there to assist. I would suggest a more simplified menu display that's located somewhere else (perhaps pushed back a bit more). I was able to get one of those buckets (but they didn't have the blue one). I got my usual favorite, Thai Milk tea and a bunch of toppings that are included with the bucket. It was really good but the bucket kinda sucks. This has been my favorite milk tea shop for many years, but today I stopped by and was quite disappointed. The milk tea was bland, had no tea aroma, and barely any flavor at all. The toppings were mushy. The male employee working there was rude and unfriendly when speaking to customers. I don't think I will come back again :( read more
Super store, I got the roasted oolong milk tea with 6 jello pieces topping and it was so good. The toppings were so cute a drum to choose, different shape and size. Service was fast . Great place for all kind of snacks and fruit like jackfruit and mangoes. All pre cut and ready to eat. Lots of viet snacks but more next door. read more

I am low key obsessed with this place. My cousin recommended Unu Cafe as it's his favorite and reminds him of Vietnam. Now it's my favorite boba place ever. What makes this place unique is that they have a 6 topping drink. I thought it was excessive at first but now I love it. You can choose any "base". They have jasmine milk tea, oolong milk tea, thai green tea, thai tea, and more! I don't normally order jasmine milk tea but I love it here! It's the perfect balance of tea flavor and while the jasmine is floral, it's not overpowering at all. The thai green tea is also fantastic! They offer over 30 toppings! The list is overwhelming but now I know what I like. Their classic black boba is great! I also love adding crystal boba, oolong crystal boba, pandan jelly, water chestnut balls, egg pudding, taro balls, and coconut balls. You can't go wrong with any of the toppings, although some of the cheese ones are a bit weird to me. I am craving their jasmine milk tea and all their toppings as I'm writing this review. Unu Cafe was busy on a Saturday afternoon and we ordered a pineapple plum juice and boy do they have a lot of toppings to choose from. As good as usual! This store recently debuted an amazing drink - Roasted Rice Oolong milk tea, comes with cheese foam and oolong boba. What a great combo. The boba has strong oolong tea hint on its own and the flavor is enhanced when pairing together with the drink. A little downside for the boba is that they are a bit mushy. I wish they were more firm and came in smaller size, so it's easier to go through the straw. Overall, this drink has been a must have for me every week. I love the strong tea hint, not too sweet, but balance well with cheese foam on top. Highly recommend! The staff is friendly and helps the line move fast. We didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. This cafe has really creative drinks on the menu, from fruit tea to milk tea, from dessert to snacks. I love the store ambiance. It looks exactly like old-school convenience store in Vietnamese neighborhood found on every street corner. Every time we come to this store, we have to buy some snacks along with the drinks. I decided to try this place after seeing all the rave on tiktok about it! I was able to get the Valentine's Day deal where it was $7 for 7 jellos and a milk tea. The milk tea itself wasn't anything special and wasn't great to be honest it tasted like powder and was only alright. However, the jellos were great and are what you would expect from a Vietnamese jello place! My favorites were the clear flowers and the clear paws. I would be back if I am in the area but I wouldn't seek it out. Also be mindful that there is no indoor seating as it is a small shop! read more
