I would not recommend Uplift to manage your property. They have been managing my property and it has been nothing but headaches and issues. My experience is very similar to other owners on here. 1. Lack of attention to detail My first PM was Brittany, who listed my property with several glaring errors in the post - such as listing as a 1 bathroom rather than a 2 bathroom. She then wrote the lease with more errors, such as not including a pet and pet fee on the lease. I have also dealt with several accounting errors of incorrect/missing charges and under payments that Uplift has no urgency to resolve, leaving me to figure it out myself and attempt to walk them through. 2. Near zero communication Brittany left and I was transferred to a new PM, who was almost equally as incompetent and slow to resolve issues. When he left the company suddenly, it took several weeks for Marly, the operations manager, to notify me, despite my frequent emails and calls to my PM - all the time wondering why I wasn't getting any responses. Where is the communication and transparency? 3. Slow turn overs When I had a vacancy (with 30+ days written notification by the tenant) it took about 2 weeks for the turn to start, then another 2 weeks to complete. I was told, and evidenced by the turn receipts, that the turn was limited to minimal repairs and painting. Yet, it took a month to relist the property. Thorough out this time I had to hound the PM for updates on the turn status. 4. No accountability Several of the errors made by various members of the Uplift team have resulted in costs to me that I would not have, had Uplift done their jobs correctly. When addressing this, the best I've been offered is "Sorry". There is no accountability. When they make a mistake that costs you money, they do not care. Despite all this, Uplift continues to collect their tidy "no-management" fee and you will spend more time managing them than you ever spent managing the property yourself. read more

Brianna and Uplift PM have been awful to deal with and they severly lack in care and concern. I was without heat for a full month due to them not even bothering to contact a contractor for 2 weeks after my maintenance request regarding no heat. I moved into this same condo where the a/c & d/w were not working upon move-in because it was not thoroughly inspected on their walk-thru before move-in. In addition, the communication has been the worst I have ever experienced with any property management company. They don't respond at all or take a really long time to do so. Taylor Holiday greatly improved the safety of the apartments she manages by enforcing the rules signed by every tenant. Examples of safety by enforcement include but are not limited to notifying the tow company when vehicles are parked illegally and reminding parents where children may play in common areas and what areas are restricted. She keeps the common areas clean by posting signage regarding pet waste management and sending reminders about what may be put in the landfill and recycling dumpsters. Avoid Uplift - Incompetent, Unresponsive, & Mismanaged Property Management I would never recommend Uplift Property Management to any landlord looking for competent, reliable, or professional service. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, filled with delays, mismanagement, and complete lack of accountability. Key Issues I Experienced: 1. Took 3 Months to Fill a Vacancy * When my previous tenant moved out, I was told upfront that finding a new tenant would be quick. Instead, it took 3 months--2 of which were spent getting the property into turnaround condition. * They assured me someone was moving in by mid-November, but that was delayed until December 5th, which cost me extra mortgage payments I wasn't expecting. 2. Mishandling of Funds & Late Rent Payments * They shorted my rental payments, claiming they had to wait for the security deposit to clear before covering the mortgage. * This resulted in me accruing a $110 late fee on my mortgage--a direct result of their mismanagement. * Instead of using the reserve funds I had specifically set up for maintenance expenses, they deducted those costs from my rental payments, making it harder to cover the mortgage. 3. Unauthorized & Questionable Charges * They paid for the previous tenant's water bill ($1,700) using my funds, even though utilities should have been transferred to the tenant's name. * The company's excuse? A clerical error--but then they refused to take responsibility for recovering the funds. * They charged me for carpet cleaning and then charged me again for replacing the same carpet--so why clean something that was going to be ripped out? * They deducted a $319.60 property management fee for February, even though I had already ended my contract and they weren't supposed to collect any further commissions. 4. Delayed & Inconsistent Communication * Any time I needed answers, I had to chase them down. Their responses were delayed by days, sometimes weeks. * Even simple requests--like confirming expenses, sending final disbursements, or answering maintenance questions--took far too long. 5. Failure to Handle Tenant Maintenance Issues Properly * My new tenant reported a potential termite infestation. Instead of handling the issue as part of their ongoing responsibility, Uplift washed their hands of it and said they couldn't process new maintenance requests because I was offboarding. * They claimed there were no outstanding maintenance issues, but within days of my tenant moving in, I was notified of a broken AC and termite problems that had clearly existed before they left. 6. Failed to Send My Keys & Ignored Final Requests * After officially parting ways, I requested my property keys back--a basic responsibility of any property manager. They ignored my request multiple times, forcing me to follow up repeatedly. * The delays in returning the keys made it harder for me to manage the property effectively. Final Thoughts Uplift operates with zero accountability, poor communication, and a clear lack of concern for the landlords they are supposed to serve. They cost me unnecessary fees, wasted my time, and handled my property poorly. If you are considering hiring them, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. We had our property managed by Uplift and it was the worst experience we've had dealing with property managers. Brittany Colletti was our property manager along with Marly Davis and Ryan Wuillmier. They were unresponsive and Brittany often very rude and confrontational to us, our tenants, and contractors. The whole tenant felt that they own our property and we are reporting to them. We did not feel empowered nor it was our place to have a say on anything regarding our property. Be careful with Uplift processes where it is only benefiting themselves instead of the tenants or the owners. 1/ Communications can take days to get any response. Management is approved of this process hence their property manager does not have the need to get back to the tenants or the owners quickly even on urgent matters like fixing important items in the house. 2/ Uplift get the late fees instead of the owner and yet the owner still gets paid late if the tenants is late. Other providers will give the late fees to the owner as they have all of the financial risks. 3/ The owner gets paid on the 10th of each month which is very late where similar management provider will pay you on the first 3 days of the month. 4/ Uplift will make decisions in regards to the property/contract without any discussion with the owner. For example, they will allow the tenants to pay late consistently without any discussion with the owner since they get to keep the late fees. 5/ They can change your assigned property manager multiple times without any plan of transitions where you have open cases of issue to fix in the house and no body follow up to ensure it gets done. You won't have a proper notification or intro from the new PM either. 6/ Uplift does not care about customer satisfaction either. We've addressed our concerns about the delayed communication and bad experience overall to management multiple times, no body check-in to see if they can help or apologize for the bad experience. I'm hoping my review get posted to alert property owners of what they could get into if they decide to work with Uplift. read more

Ever since Karla the new manager at Bonita Court has came into the property it has never looked better ! From the updated basketball court/playground with the new installed fence so the kids don't run off to the street to the new paint color the buildings now have, and the updated pool area it has uplifted the property! I met all the criteria except for credit score. I provided a letter of explanation that demonstrated that I have been homeless for a year and a half before I moved into my current residence which I've lived in for a year. I'm on SSDI, so I have a fixed income. I have never been late on my rent, I pay it in two portions, one half before it's due and one half on the date it's due so that I don't have any reason to miss a payment because of an unexpected bill. I am able to pay over $900 more than the asking price, either because the rental is incorrectly priced or because it is run down and in need of updating. I am a Section 8 so they pay over 70% of my rent. The PMC don't allow direct deposit which is how Section 8 pays, the first of every month, they prefer a check as though this were the dark ages. The PMC force you to pay for a benefit package, that is of no benefit to a tenant or owner. Why would I need to be rewarded for paying my rent on time instead of being allowed to stay there because I pay my rent on time? Because of habitability laws in california, the things that they're offering are things that are required to be maintained by them or the owners of the property. They are not the tenants responsibility. And if I'm being required to have renters insurance of over $100,000, then they should be required to provide a home warranty for the appliances and the items included in their tenant benefit package. And if it is up such a value, it should not be mandatory and should be voluntary. I had a prearranged scheduled walkthrough, but never received the code but having been a Residential Field Inspector, I instinctively tried the doors and found one of the patio doors unlocked! Anthony, who I was told was the property manager (the second time) of the particular property I was interested in, was magnificent! He is their only asset. Before I reached him, I had called just hours before to the receptionist on Treena Street to tell me that the manager was Meg and when I asked to speak to her was told that she was unavailable. The second time I asked for the manager of that particular property, I was given Anthony. Why would she have lied? How unprofessional and untrustworthy. But I give kudos to Anthony he was magnificent! Even though I didn't get the property, he is the only property manager that I have dealt with in the past month as I have been applying (6th property) that was really responsive and very knowledgeable of his property. I thank him for his kindness and consideration. FYI, I didn't get any of the former properties because their property manager did not know how to fill out the Section 8 paperwork, even though they stated that they did and I have numerous emails back and forth between these companies. I'm going to file a complaint against them with the fair housing and with the San Diego Housing Commission. Their ineptness and their ignorance is alarming in this time of housing crisis. REQUIREMENTS TO RENT: 1. Minimum household gross income of 2.8x the monthly rent. 2. A good credit score and clean history (625 minimum). PROVIDED LOE. 3. Proof of income to be able to rent. Income can include assistance such as food stamps, child support - call for clarification if necessary. 4. A Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). 5. Valid, current, government issued Photo ID. 6. You must obtain or currently have and be willing to transfer renter's insurance. Restrictions This property is not available for tenants with a move in date more than 30 days from date available, large dogs, more than 2 pets, an income less than 2.5x rent, a bankruptcy less than 10 years old, a judgment less than 7 years old, an eviction less than 7 years old, or any unmet property requirements. We hired Jensen Properties to manage our condo in Mira Mesa when we moved out of state. We chose them for their reasonable prices and range of services. We worked with them for 2 years and they were helpful, kept us informed, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to work with. Their range of services really benefitted us particularly. The first year renting out our condo through them was great. There were no issues with the renters, we received our payments on time, and had nothing to worry about. Chris Jensen is also a realtor. We talked to him about possibly selling our condo after the lease was up. He was upfront and honest with us that the market wasn't great but we could still try and sell if we wanted to. After a slow few weeks, we chose to take the listing down and rent it out for another year. We appreciated his honesty as it had our best interests in mind. The second year was harder as the condo had a huge plumbing issue that sent our renters out for a few days. It was very stressful for us but it would've been worse without this team to help. They called plumbers, dealt with the renters and our HOA, and were in contact with our neighbor who was also affected by the issue. After this ordeal, we decided to sell our condo as we didn't want to deal with something like this again. We thought about trying a different realtor to sell this time around, but for convenience, we decided not to. It was easy to go from leasing our condo to selling since it was through the same company and they already had all the photos and information from renting it out. Chris Jensen did a great job, we had multiple offers and sold our condo for well above asking. I think it's very business savvy of him to be a "one-stop shop" for real estate needs. He has contacts with plumbers, electricians, contractors, etc. to fix your home to sell or rent. He can manage your properties. He can sell those properties when you don't want them anymore. 3/10/22 Consumers BEWARE! Absolutely under no circumstances bother w/ this company! I was going through the process for a rental property in Chula Vista. I definitely qualify as I make good living and good credit. My bad experience was when dealing with Brian- he's the Per folio coordinator for the North County area, this guy has absolutely no, phone etiquette. When I asked him what was his full name and his title his response was "Why, do you wanna know?" & I mention to him that he is very unprofessional has no phone etiquette and that I chose to withdrawal myself from the application to move forward from renting any of their properties and that I would like a refund from the $40 and would like to speak to his supervisor Óscar Duran, to file complaint. On 3/11/22 Óscar emails me to let me know that Brian and Melissa notified him, about my wanting to withdraw from the application however the $40 is nonrefundable. I feel that due to the unprofessional and a horrible experience I encounter with their staff (Brian) they should have refunded me those $40. If this is the on boarding experience they gave me. I can only just imagine what would my experience renting from them be like. Don't do it! Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere! Please keep in mind that whether you get approve or not this agency will not refund you your money; most places they will only charge you the application fee should you want to move forward. Had absolutely the worst experience renting with Jensen. They might be better for property management but if you are a tenant you are better off with any other company. We lived in a Jensen listed property for 15 months but paid for 17 months with a lease break fee. We agree that this was in the lease but it was not clearly stated when we were expecting a confirmation. They could not rent the apartment after listing it for 4 months. This is not the reason I am giving them a bad review, the real reason is same as why the apartment wouldn't get rented in the first place. We did not have internet in the apartment almost 14 months we lived there. And they did absolutely nothing nothing about it. We lived through Covid19 without internet and they did nothing. Before they blame it on ISP, the HOA or the landlord, that it is not their mistake it was their responsibility to make sure we had internet. When pointed out they said that the internet is not listed in the lease as a necessary utility. Its just a good to have feature. Its ironic that we were communicating through email and requesting their services through a portal making their lives easier. When we decided to move out we gave them 45-day notice after which they listed the property but nothing happened until after 4 months. They had to drop the rent $200 off to rent it and we were expected to pay $100 more if we had to extend the lease for an year. The reason the apartment wasn't rented is because of the condition of the carpet among other things. They charge carpet cleaning fee every time but never change the carpet. We were using an area rug the whole time but they still charged us an exorbitant amount for carpet cleaning and bulb replacement. Both things were initially in the same condition. All their bulbs were either replaced or left in the apartment but they still charged $150 to replace bulbs can you imagine. They didn't have to buy new bulbs. The extra bulbs were in storage too. The last two months we were expected to pay our mortgage and rent, there was no leeway from them rather they made sure they posted the amount due exactly two days after it was past due. Same went with the security deposit. Everything was calculated after the due date. So you had to pay. Please if you are a tenant do refrain from using them. Never ever rent from them. They get two stars not half only because of their personnel (Robin). As a company they are pretty bad. Attached are pictures of the cables chewed by rats on the outside of the property that resulted in the loss of internet. Never got fixed in case the new tenants are wondering why they don't have internet. I hope they told them. read more

Run FAR from this company! You will not meet a grimier and negligent management company! I don't even know where to start. You will have to HARASS the company to get the simplest, reasonable repairs. We moved in with MANY missing blinds. Once my husband deployed and I was alone with my baby, I requested they replace these blinds, as people can SEE INSIDE MY FRONT WINDOW. This turned into 3 months of argument and "let me ask the owner if they're willing to replace because it's cosmetic"... People seeing inside your home isn't cosmetic! Additionally, I had termite holes in my ceiling that dropped termite poop on my bed and floor which forced my baby and I have to sleep in the living room while Jensen spent TWO MONTHS "requesting approval" for termite repair! They are unreachable (try calling them for fun ) and RUDE. When it was time to move out, I asked Brittany what we needed to do and she said we could hire a carpet cleaner or do it ourselves. We rented a cleaner and cleaned the entire apartment but left 7 EXPENSIVE cleaning products that I felt bad throwing away and figured they could use to clean their other properties?? We neatly set them on the kitchen counter. Well they charged us $275 for a cleaning fee when we left! I called and asked Brittany what the fee was for because NO WHERE in our lease does it speak of this fee and she says everyone is charged it and it won't be in our lease. I remind her that I asked specifically what needed to be done and that I would have hired a much cheaper cleaning company for our 1 bedroom apt that WE ALREADY CLEANED had we known everyone is charged this cleaning fee. She gets out her notes and said we left cleaning products that had to be disposed and a disposable tin pan that was left in the oven. $275 to "throw out" perfectly good cleaning products! They are a disgusting and dishonest company. We were also instructed by Brittany to leave our unit unlocked and she would come get the keys the day we move out. In usual fashion, it was impossible to reach her that entire day to confirm whether or not she came and got the keys but days later our neighbors said there were people in our unit. She most likely didn't come get the keys and left it unlocked for days. The company is disgraceful. Rent anywhere but here! read more

Two stars for Oscar and Oscar alone, who was wonderful when we first we're moving across country when my husband was restationed. He was responsive, understanding and helpful. He was great and we're sorry he's not our point of contact any longer. My family has been renting from Uplift for over a year now and our experience since January has been difficult. Response time as a whole is VERY poor. Our rental unit was flooded in January and when expressing my concerns on repairs it would regularly take 10-12 days to get a response which was usually short with a promise of "more information to come" which I would then have to chase down another 10-12 days later. This goes for both emails and calls, so please don't think calling will help speed anything up for you. Myself and my infant son were also displaced from our home due to health, safety and habitability concerns caused by the flood and Uplift did nothing to help us out or accommodate us. We paid full rent to not live in a home for almost 2 months while they dried out and repaired one room. When we extended our lease (we're military and options that allow pets are hard to come by), they added on a new misleading "Resident Benefit Package" that is now tacking on an additional $45.95 per month. In their own words, " We understand not everyone will get the same amount of benefit from this package since it is all dependent on individual circumstances." For myself and my husband, this just means they are taking money out of our pockets and giving us nothing. We don't utilize ANY of the services, which may be hard to believe but it's 100% true. We don't need a credit boost , we live in a home not an apartment so they don't provide us HVAC filters, we're already moved in, so don't need their concierge service, we don't pay our rent late so we don't need late fee forgiveness, we don't need identity protection (we have it elsewhere) and we're not sure what other "Rewards" are supposedly included, but the greatest reward they could offer is my money back since it feels like stealing at this point since I am paying for a service I'm not getting. They offered to lower the fee since we have our own rental insurance, but I provided copies, uploaded the proof to the requested portal and STILL it's been 25 days and nothing in our portal reflects our now overpayment from May, credit owed in June and updated cost going forward. The last thing they offer is home buying assistance as part of this program. This is the biggest insult of all because while we are looking to buy, given the awful communication history, lack of empathy and general headaches from this company, why would we EVER want these folks helping us buy a home? The home is great, location and neighbors are wonderful but jeez, if you can avoid this rental company, you should. read more

I have lived in Ramona Ca for 33 years. I have to Honestly say that my apartment I have lived in for years is my very favorite place I have ever lived at. Jensen Properties... i give Five Star's. There maintenance is awesome . I am very impressed. And the people in the office... Are great If ever I call Jensen Properties they are Always helpful.
