Man, I always try a local pizza place and this one does not disappoint! From the crisp crust to the sauce with a kick there use of fresh ingredients its worth the trip. Upper crust is the best pizza in tillamook county hands down. The owners are fabulous, and the pizza is divine! I called in my to go order and the gal taking my phone call was super sweet over the phone. When I went to pick up my pizzas everyone was smiling and you could feel the good vibes when you walk in. Fair notice given at the order area, it will take a while to cook the Pizza! It isn't fast food, its great food!After waiting a long time to get our 2 pizzas, we were thrilled with the results. The pizzas were perfect, made how we asked, and piping hot when served. Prices are higher than chain delivery places but at the coast this was a great stop. Wonderful pizza, nice crunch to crust and thin with a nice puffy edge. Sauce was flavorful. Ordered two small 12" pizza's, pepperoni and tsunami. Was told 1 hour and 30 min and then they would call when it went into oven, so you can arrive when it comes out. Timing was right on. They were busy with to go orders and one big family dining in. They are switching over to just to go orders only. They are also selling the building and going to retire. I hope the new owners keep the recipes and continue to make good pizza. read more

Hopefully I can update this review one day when I can rave about how delicious their pizza, but for now, Upper Crust is a bust in my mind. I tried calling to place my order for one hour tonight and all I got was a busy signal. I thought they were actually busy, being that it's a Friday night over spring break. Finally at 615 I drove to the restaurant to place my order in person, and was told they were no longer taking orders for the night. I explained I had been trying to place my order for an hour, and asked if taking their phone off the hook to create a busy signal was their clue to customers that they were closed for orders for the night? That was really disappointing, and by this time most other restaurants in Rockaway were also nearing closing time, so I lost my window to order from anywhere else as well. I'd hope Upper Crust would consider a voicemail greeting or something indicating when they need to close up shop early. Can't blame them for being busy, but let your customers know that instead of just disconnecting your phone! read more

Ordered the big tsunami for pickup. It took about an hour and a half for it to be ready. $28 for a 16 inch large pizza is pretty spendy. You would think they would include little things like paper plates or a pizza box for that price, nope. 50 cents for a box, 10 cents for paper plates?! Pretty lame getting Nickle and dimed like that when your paying a premium price for a pizza. That would have been ok if the pizza was good but it was pretty average. The crust and sauce were comparable to dominos. If there were a round table in rockaway beach they would put this place out of business in a month. My wife and I were driving up the coast and stayed in a sleepy coastal town, Rockaway Beach, and craved some pizza. We saw this place right off the 101 Hwy and gave it a shot. WOW!! This pizza was fantastic! I consider myself somewhat of a pizza nut; I worked at a pizza place growing up as a kid. We were staying at Barview for a week and wanted something not cooked on a camp stove. My mother hasn't had pizza in 30 years because of gluten intolerance and thanks to this place she was wowed! A bit shocked to find cash only business, especially since our bill was over 60 bucks. We ordered 2 pizzas, fish and Chips, and chicken strips. The pizzas looked good, and the crust had a good texture and crunch. Overall, they were just very bland. No real flavor on either and one had oysters! We ate one piece of each and left the rest. That being said, the fish and chips were the worst offender, just criminally bad. Obviously, previously frozen and then overcooked, they were hard and mushy at the same time. We didn't even bother to eat them. Chicken strips, also frozen, were coated in cornmeal so our youngest diner opted to not eat those either. Overall, I see how desperately this small town needs a decent place to eat but this place is doing their residents a disservice. read more

I'm only giving this restaurant one star due to the complete and udder failure this restaurant did in order to make me satisfied. I placed an order, walked over and paid. We sit there waiting an hour trying to receive our food. Finally we go up there and ask how long our food is going to take and they say they never even received the order. After asking them how long it would take they wouldn't give us an answer so we finally said give us a timeframe or were leaving with our money back. At that point they sent out the manager who started arguing with us in the middle of the restaurant. The food wasn't even that good anyway. This restaurant doesn't deserve the credit it is given and should definitely be given a lower rating. The staff is rude, even when they screwed up. Don't come to this restaurant if you actually want enjoy the rest of your night. Definitely doesn't even deserve a star. read more

My girlfriend and I stay in Rockaway every few weeks at the beach house. One night a few months back I had a hankering for pizza and decided to check this place out. My girlfriend's family have been coming here for years and seem pretty loyal to this place. When I came here it was during the Winter months, and their hours had been cut back pretty slim since tourism is down during this time, makes sense, but mildly inconvenient. I walked in and ordered a to-go pizza and they informed me it would be a few minutes. It was slow inside around 4pm, and I think they had just opened. It was immediately apparent this was a family business. The husband was tending the register, the wife and son were in the back making the pies. The guy that took my order was super duper nice and chatted with me about fishing while I waited for my pizza. Really great people and service! The pie came out fresh with loads of veggies and meat. It was a delicious pizza! They definitely don't skimp on the toppings here, but you end up paying for it. The pies here are quite pricey, almost to the degree that it hurts, but hey, it's Rockaway Beach and you wont find a better pie for miles. This place seems like it would have a good vibe during the busy months, maybe to catch a game, or relax after a summer day at the beach. I'll be back this summer to give it another shot, and another one of my paychecks;) If this place lightened up just a tad on the prices, and maybe brought in a crowd to open earlier during the winter by advertising football games, karaoke, etc., it'd definitely have 5 stars right off the bat! read more

They were ready to pick up in a very reasonable amount of time and they were all delicious. We had the pesto vegetarian, peperoni and a Hawaiian. Super good food and super service! read more

I used to really love this pizza. And the new owners have made a lot of positive changes. But the pizza is not as good. It doesn't taste as fresh, the pepperoni is very oily and they leave a huge proportion of the pizza without toppings. This makes my dogs very happy because they get the bare crust. I hate to give this place a mediocre review because the owner is nice and food is decent, but the wait was ridiculous! We went on a thursday and had a nice experience. We came back on a saturday with our 8 month old and 2 year old. We checked w waitress regarding order after 40 minutes. They informed us that wait would be at least 25 more minutes. At no time did they apologize or warn us when we ordered. Our kids were starving and throwing a fit- we had our money refunded w still no apology. Best part according to the group of teens was that the pizza was even better the next day cold out of the fridge. "Best cold pizza I've ever had!" According to teens. I love this place! Great food, their hearth bread is my personal favorite. In addition the the delicious pizza, they have a decent selection of pub grub. Good local beer selection, and sparkling water (another favorite of mine). They have a warm atmosphere, family friendly, video games, pinball, and sports on the big screen TV.
